(A friendly customer who has always, always, without fail, generously tipped previous employees of this establishment who were, ya know, basically nice & decent?) SO... if you like being glared at with the most hateful expression ever for 10 seconds before being spoken to like you've just killed their grandma with a lifeless, affectless, "How can I help you?" THIS is your place! For all the masochists out there... So, I tried again... "Hi!!!!" and again was hatefully glared at, followed by "How can I help you?" with the MOST disdainful, ugly tone of voice. As me simply opening the door and walking in was the bane of this person's existence. Yeah, bro, that's a no go. At that point I might or might not have said something rather cheeky and rude in my shocked and appalled state. In hindsight, I wish I would've said something along the lines of "You could 'help' me by treating me as a human being, please." But maybe, I should think positively, and give this biz the benefit of the doubt and some props? Maybe they're employing people on the autism spectrum who can't help they don't follow polite societal norms? If that's the case, then the owner really ought to give workshops on how to interact with the general public for these employees. As for me? I also slave at a job I'm not too fond of, but I would NEVER in a million years dream of taking out my disdain on an innocent customer. So I happily drove to another iPhone store in Eureka where I plopped down $150 for what I needed as there was NO WAY in hell I was going to give this business money after being so atrociously treated. After talking to them numerous times on the phone and in person I found out that there were some weird charges on my bills that I never made as well as those hidden fees that they always say that they don't have. I never made any charges on my account because at the time I could barely afford the bill I had but I needed a phone due to my kids and work. For some reason, my service was also always on roaming which made no sense to me since I didn't ever leave the coverage area. My calls were always dropping. My cell service was just horrible. The last time I went in there I paid my bill then I gave my phone back and told them I wanted to cancel my service with them. A few weeks later I received a bill in the mail that said I owed 1200 dollars. Not sure how that happened since I returned my phone and canceled my service weeks before this bill came. They say that I didn't pay them and it racked up these crazy fees. This went on my credit for a few years until somebody finally paid attention and looked at my proof of payment and took it off of my credit. I will never go back to this company again. There were two men working with other customers. We waited patiently. We were first off offended because neither of them acknowledged our presence in any way. After waiting about 15 minutes someone else entered the store. This customer was also not acknlowdged. Not a "welcome in" "we will be with you soon" nothing. At that point we decided that there was no customer service worth waiting for. We live in Fortuna and spend our money here whenever possible, but we will be taking our business to Eureka. My parents had Verizon when I was growing up and so I decided to sign up as well. I had a great conversation with the person who set the account up for my sister, my wife and I. They even gave me a $25 discount. A little after that I added the ACP to our account and that gave us an additional $30 discount which put us at a $55 discount. (We are all struggling students so it was critical to lower our bill) A year later, my sister tried to add an additional student discount but instead it cancelled out our $25 discount. When I called Verizon they said they couldn't do anything about it. That it was gone. I was angry. But we let it go and moved on. We still had a $30 discount due to the ACP program. But then the ACP stopped getting funded and they removed the $30 discount from our account. They do offer Verizon Forward but it's only eligible for Verizon FIOS customers. A service that isn't even offered in my location. I recommend you go elsewhere for cellular services. Verizon is overpriced and will make their prices look pretty to hook you in then they screw you over later and take your money.

I walk in that direction but still no Staples. A security guard's eyes lock onto two ladies walking down the hall. I ask him, "Where's Staples?" He says, a little hurriedly, "Outside." As I look for an exit, I hear him say in a commanding voice, "Ladies! There's no smoking in the mall." I get outside. Where's Staples? Now I see it. My half hour's nearly up. Now seconds count. I get inside Staples, walk straight forward, and there's a guy named Markus. He asks, "Can I help you find anything today?" Yes, I tell him. I'm looking for a USB-C-to-USB-C cable and a gel pad. He takes me to the cables. He knows every option and exactly what the trade-offs are. He asks if I'm using it to hook up a laptop to a charger. Yes. He tersely explains what I need to know. Seconds later, we're at the gel pads. He knows what they have, and he understands what I need. They don't carry it. Not one second wasted. I buy the cable and walk back to Supercuts.
