Wowwwww. Our family has been telling us about this place for years. We did not have a chance to try some of their candy until this year for our birthdays. Neither photos nor words do justice to how good it is! The truffles, let's just focus on those - they are works of art. Hands down some of the most beautifully made - and delicious - that I have ever had the pleasure of trying. A smooth shiny glass like finish. The cherry one has a little cherry stem coming out the bottom (cute - and informative); the pistachio one has pistachios embedded artistically in the top like a volcano. They are just incredible. We didn't go inside yet as I mentioned our family has been going here for a long time and the way they tell it the service is great. I just happened to drive by this place on the way home from a work trip and decided to bring some fudge home for *ahem* the kids. This was a cute little mom and pop shop that had homemade fudge of a bunch of different flavors, plus a ton of prepackaged candies. I got 4 bricks of fudge, so got a fifth free, for a total of 1.25 lbs of fudge. Each one I got was soooo good! They were soft and really smooth, and tasted just like they should. The only thing I wish they had was sugarfree fudge or other candies, but they did have sugarfree taffy and licorice, so I made that work. But like I said, the fudge was soo good. Not grainy at all. I stumbled upon this place while walking along the streets of old Port Orchard. I should have read the reviews and got the fudge! I got several soft center chocolates - coffee, lemon, raspberry, huckleberry, and lemon. Sounds good, right? But other than the huckleberry the centers had very weak flavor and I wasn't too impressed. Next time I'll be sure to get the fudge or taffy! read more

I am a candy fan. Not just "I like candy", but "you can only find this type of Haribro in these countries" and "I can absolutely tell the difference Nordic, American and Australian licorice" kind of person. This place satisfies my particular sweet tooth :) It has almost everything I can think of, plus I try something new each time and haven't run out of new things to explore! The customer service is excellent. I'm always greeted and offered samples. There is an extensive selection of fudge, but I'm not a fudge person so I haven't tried it (though they always offer a taste). They also have truffles. However there is a chocolate place in town. I haven't (yet) done a shoot-out between the two. Perhaps on a slow weekend... Want cheap boring, generic candy? Go somewhere else. Get your tub of RedVines from Wal*Mart, your boing candy mix from Costco, and wonder why you're bored with the same old stuff. Want something unique? This is your place. Variety is the name of the game at Candy Shoppe. They specialize in fudge, but really, if it can be dipped in chocolate, they have it. Wife spotted this place out of the corner of her eye, so we stepped inside to check it out. The store is divided into two sides: Chocolate and Everything Else. But the more you dig, the more treasure you'll find. (Not just referring to the pirate paraphernalia inside). They have a really nice saltwater taffy selection, so we filled up a bag there first. next, I saw some barrels with bags of old-timey root beer candies, so I snatched up some of those. A small corner near the front also has special (possibly) handmade dog treats. We picked up a few for our dog, and she wolfed them down without even tasting them. Grand total was a little over ten dollars. For the amount of stuff we got, not bad at all. The guy behind the counter was very nice as well. Definitely worth a repeat visit. PROTIP: This store also specializes in 'Seagull Plop.' I recommend tasting it before looking at it. read more

This is the best place in Kitsap County to get your sweet treats by far.... And the staff is especially helpful and the fudge is delicioso!!! A hidden gem is that they also carry a fairly large supply of unique games, puzzles, and toys. Normally we adore this shop and have made special stops during trips just to buy fudge. Unfortunately, our trip today, January 2, 2021, shows that customer service is slipping. They have not been trained in ADA compliance. Tami tried to insist we remove our mobility trained service dog, who was wearing his vest, from the store. My daughter was willing to walk out without her fudge. But after waiting a year, I thanked her for her consideration, but I wasn't going to deny her because of someone's lack of training. Please enlighten your staff on the difference between Emotional Support Animals and trained Service Dogs. We have loved your shop for years. read more

Beautiful day out today, so the family and I went for a walk along the Pt. Orchard waterfront and downtown. As we were passing the Candy Shoppe storefront our oldest daughter stopped dead in her tracks to ogle the goodies inside. With my sweet tooth, it was hard to resist, so we ducked in. This is a really cute "old fashioned" candy shop. They have an extensive selection of taffy, and many different retro candies to choose from. We decided to try their handmade truffles. They have a big selection of flavors with these, too. We ordered a peanut butter, chocolate mint, strawberry cheesecake, salty caramel, and cappuccino truffle. They are a bit pricey at 2.48 each, but definitely worth it. The salty caramel was to die for :) I will definitely bring the girls back here, there is so much to try (including watermelon flavored fudge...yeah crazy!). I went here June 3rd 2017 with 3 of my grandchildren ages 6 12 & 2. 2 year old was in a stroller. A trip to the candy store with grandma should be fun right? It was not. It is a very small store and while trying to navigate the 2 older kids turned a corner and suddenly the owner was shouting at them in front of all the other customers, you kids know better that area is not for the public blah blah blah. They hadnt crossed the threshold to the office area and had no intent to. She was very rude and mean we left without purchasing the items they had selected. Very embarrassing and dissapointing, she handled it very poorly. I don't recommend this as a child friendly store. read more

A little treat in boring ol' downtown Port Orchard. The owner makes her own fudge and she has a bazillion varieties...okay maybe not that many, but there are alot. You can also find dozens of flavors of salt water taffy. She has unique items like the ever so popular Harry Potter Every Flavor Jelly Beans. This is a good trick to play on people. If you set out a bowl of these for your quests, one of them is likely to get a vomit or ear wax flavored bean. The shop is small and the prices are reasonable, that of any specialty candy shop, but the owner is very friendly and is always smiling, so it just makes the trip worth while. read more

I stopped by here recently and the service was great! I had an attentive, cute, boy helping me, he seemed to be new since he didn't quite know what all the candies had in them. He gave me a sample of their fudge which was fantastic! I ended up getting some cremes however. While the flavor was good in the creames, the texture inside was a little too dense for me, I wish the cream was fluffier and well, creamier. I'll totally come back in another time to get more of their fudge though and try out something new, there's just so much selection here! read more

Great shop...very tempting to the eye, not to mention the taste buds. I have bought candy and fudge from them over the years. They take time to help you and to find out any information or answer questions you might have. A couple of examples are as follows: One year, I was going to see my relatives in Italy and wanted to bring them an American type of candy. The gals that work behind the counter were very helpful in assisting me with a selection of fudge. They have quite a variety so I was able to choose from a wonderful selection of unique flavors. My relatives really enjoyed the fudge. In addition, I am gluten and dairy intolerant. The gals have been willing to help find out more about what candy options there are for me. My favorites are the gluten free red scotty dog liquorish and red cinnamon gummy bears, along with Guittard's semi-sweet dark chocolate nonpareils. They are also currently waiting to hear back from one of the companies for Jordan Almonds. It is nice to find a place that is willing to do this for their customers. ' read more

We were looking for a good place to grab a sweet treat for the family, and loved the look of this store. Lots of variety. However, as it became crowded my daughter and husband tried to navigate to the other side of store through "the Royal Kitchen," not knowing it was employees only (no sign, no door, nothing- it looked like a demonstration/party room) but realized it was not the way to go and turned back- to which The Queen snapped at them both about trespassing in her kitchen. As we were leaving she even remarked to other customers about my family's ignorance. My husband and daughter meant no disrespect and had no way of knowing they were out of bounds, but her lack of hospitality, understanding and rudeness assured our family left disappointed and with a very bad taste in our mouths. I would give this place 5 stars because I love that it's a family owned business and I remember when it first opened. I think the shop is cute but the staff is HORRIBLE! Went in the store today with my husband and daughter , unaware the store was closing in about 7 minutes, one of the girls working rudely stated "we are closing" ... We felt very unwelcome and unsure if we should leave then or if we could still look around as there was a customer already in there. ( if I was her , I would take the business more seriously .. Maybe let us know they are closing soon and they are going to start closing down , but maybe take our time and have a look... Just my option for a good business ) So we quickly looked around , and found a few sweets we wanted. The girl behind the counter didn't help us and actually asked the other girl working (from across the room) to come get the sweets off the shelf instead.... Great candy and super cute shop! I don't think most of Port Orchard knows this is down here. Something this nice and fun (tons of toys, novelty items and TONS of different kinds of candies) is usually found in more tourist towns like Cannon Beach! However, the customer service left me so angry I almost wrote the review on my phone outside the store. When we got to the store, I checked the door and all the windows for their pet policy. Not only is there NOT a sign that says "no dogs allowed", but they had a dog water bowl outside the door with their logo on it. I thought, Great, they love dogs! I couldn't be more wrong. I brought my tiny little dog in and started browsing the aisles with my husband and two children. After a few minutes, a rude man came out of the back and demanded to know if my little dog was a "service animal". I told him I looked for a sign and he interrupted with the same question, this time louder and more stern. Then he said "May I help you????" to my husband in a tone of voice that we knew meant "please leave now". The whole time never smiling. We were shocked and just looked at each other with jaws open. This was a special outing that our kids earned and they had looked forward to going to the candy store for weeks. I wish we could have experienced the "great customer service" the owner apparently has according the rest of these reviews. We will probably go back again and hopefully next time we won't break any unwritten rules. read more

BEWARE OF BUYING TOYS HERE!!! They have good candy but I will never purchase toys here! My aunt got my kids toys at Christmas that they wanted to exchange for something different. When my aunt returned with the unopened toys, store tags still intact and receipt, they would not give a refund. My aunt said she'd bring the kids in and have them pick something different for a store exchange but the store said they do not even give EXCHANGES! This is the worst business practice I've heard of! I'm absolutely amazed! I asked where this policy is posted for No Returns, No Refunds, NO Exchanges. It was posted at the CANDY counter, not at the TOY counter where toys are purchased! It needs to be well displayed that ALL SALES ARE FINAL!!! This store should be happy I don't live in the area because I would be standing outside with a sign warning anyone about purchasing toys there. However, my aunt is a "socialite" in the area and will be sure to let everyone she knows of this policy and educate unaware customers when she's in for a candy purchase. read more
