Great food here, pretty good selection of alcoholic drinks for a gathering after work. We were here for a retirement dinner for one of our colleagues, and it was a lovely choice! Lots of the menu was pre-selected, and everything was really good. Bread box had a great selection of bread options, including a really good hard flatbread thing. Appetizers were calamari and prosciutto-wrapped mozzarella, which were both tasty, as well as the salad starter. Good wine choice for dinner too, and the staff was very attentive and friendly. For dinner, I chose the dry-aged strip, which was perfectly cooked. The server was also great about telling everyone ordering how their chosen way of cooking would turn out (e.g., warm w/ red center for medium rare), and it was all spot on. We had mashed potatoes and asparagus as sides too, both also really good. I wasn't able to finish it there, so I took the rest back, which the servers packed for me - wow. As a magazine photographer, Bucks County, I was taken by all of the beautiful photographic artwork from local historic scenes buildings and landscapes from around upper and lower Bucks. We had attended a financial planning seminar dinner on this particular occasion, and we're just blown away again by every detail of the experience. And outstanding menu from filet mignon to bone in chop to salmon the most interesting appetizers I believe it was a mozzarella wrapped in prosciutto as well as calamari with various peppers. We had the bone in chop cooked, medium rare. It was a thing of beauty on the plate. It was cooked to perfection same with the mashed potato side, and I'm a big fan of asparagus and they want my heart over with perfectly cooked and plated asparagus. Stopped in for Happy Hour. Who would have thought? Capital Grille Happy Hour. Anyway we are regulars and had to investigate the Happy Hour offerings. Ambiance is Capital Grille a high end steak house. We sat at the bar and noted that others must have got the message as almost every bar seat was occupied. We got the last two seats. It was around 435pm on a Wednesday. The menu was quite nice with just about anything you might want. We ordered a couple of the Happy Hour martinis and then selected the sliced NY strip and the mini Caesar bitesI ordered the 10oz filet off the main menu. Our barkeeps were the usual - they know us and are professional and simpatico. My martini was perfectly prepared (as it usually is), but at a favorable price. We loved the Caesar bites, so light and tasty. Our steak dishes were also perfect. Value was excellent we escaped for -$140 including tip. A very memorable Thanksgiving at Capital Grille. We could not be more pleased. To our surprise (since it seemed early) it was packed at 3:30pm. It stayed packed (bar area also) the entire time we were there. And still service was perfect (thank you Kate). It was relaxing, timely, not rushed, comfortable and we appreciated the round table for six of us. We originally had reservations at "Roccos at The Brick" which we canceled once we saw the menu for CG. And thank goodness we did as Roccos abruptly closed 4 days prior to Thanksgiving!! Wow. The food was hot, delicious and plentiful. Some of us ordered the turkey special (see pic) and others ordered steak, salmon and lolly pop lamb chops. Everyone enjoyed. Capital Grille is a popular chain but they honestly had really good food. I went to a dinner here. I really liked how the Newtown location has so many different shops to visit around this area. The inside of Capital Grille has well dressed staff and I really liked the amount of space at the restaurant. I started with the bread basket. It was a mixture of breads both flat in nature and spongy. I also had a Field Greens Salad. I really liked the heirloom tomatoes and the taste of the Parmesan vinaigrette. For my entree, I had the Salmon. I really liked how the salmon came with green beans and these delicious cippolini onions. The onions were round and bursted in my mouth. The sides were delicious. The mash potatoes were super creamy and the spinach was the most amazing dish I had since it was almost milky tasting. The dessert consisted of Flourless Chocolate Espresso Cake. I don't really like dark chocolate but I found this dish very interesting. I felt like the chocolate tasted better and different when mixed with a whip cream. This was the first time I've experienced a dish that tasted only good when each part was mixed evenly. read more

My wife and I decided to give ourselves a treat so we cashed in some AMEX points and went to the Capital Grille. As usual we are happy that we did. I had my usual Bone in Ribeye extra rare which was cooked perfectly. The gorgonzola rub made it even better. The side of wild mushrooms were fantastic. I love mushrooms with a good steak. But the creme de resistance was something we did not expect for $55 a piece, Capital Grille had their unlimited wine pour available. we both got it. We had unlimited access to 4 different wines, 1 Rose, 3 Whites and 4 reds. They were all great and one of the reds went perfect with my steak. The bottom line is the Capital Grille is a great example of an old fashioned steak house, and the wine pour was an unexpected bonus. We will definitely be back. read more

OK, so it's on the high end but it is worth it for a special occasion. The place is beautiful and the staff is exceptional. If you go be sure and ask for Alora in the bar. She makes the best drinks, is professional, as well as, personable. Top notch in terms of customer service. For dining you need to have Scott and Kyle. Scott was our main waiter but Kyle assisted as well. We were there for our anniversary and they made sure it was recognized. Also we had a table next to us there were exceedingly loud. In spite of looking over at them hoping they would be a bit more reserved, they were not. Kyle came over and apologized and asked us if we would like to move to another table which we accepted. Ok went on line anted to try the capital grille so we made reservations. Showed up on time and got nervous. Most men were wearing sport jackets and pants. I show up in shorts, a no tuck and hey dudes. Did not know if I was going to get in. They do have a sign that says fine dining proper attire required. I entered and they sat me no questions asked. Did see some guys wearing polo's and jeans. We ordered some drinks and they were delicious. Andrea had a passion fruit mojito and I had a blackberry infused bourbon. About $17 each. The interior is dark and feels upscale except for the noise coming from bar area. Our waitress was very nice and helped with our questions. They had a regular NY strip and an aged NY strip. Nobody laugh but I had to google the difference. I ordered the aged NY and Andrea had the filet mignon. Our sides were roasted mushrooms and lobster Mac n cheese. Food came out in a respectful time. Let me tell you something that stupid aged steak was amazing and the sides followed. After dinner they served us hot moist towels to wipe your hands with. For desert we split the coconut cream pie with a rum caramel sauce. Perfect size for two people and it was dam good. All in all great service and outstanding food. Wow, I'm impressed. Haven't been here in a while so I forgot how spectacular this place was. First, I came in and was hit with an amazing ambiance. It gave chill vibes and the music there could calm anyone down. I already was having a good experience before I even sat at a table! Next, the waitress came. Her name was Kate Hipple and she was absolutely amazing. She gave us the most beautiful service with her patience, kindness, and thoughtfulness. Once, one of my family's drinks ran out and our waiter immediately refilled it. We didn't even ask for it! Throughout the dinner, she was very polite and kind. Even when we took a while to choose what to order, she was so patient, not rushing us. Hands down the best service I've ever gotten at a restaurant. Then, there was the food. Oh my gosh, extraordinary. I got a 10 oz. filet mignon that was scrupulous, savory, I can't even describe it. Everyone else said their food was as amazing as I described it. Lastly, the desert came. They gave us complimentary cake, cream, cheesecake, and a chocolate drizzled drawing of the Capital Grille logo. I also got a vanilla ice cream with chocolate drizzle on top of it. I went here for my birthday and had a wonderful dining experience. The staff were very good. The only issue was the young man was so obsessed with making sure he cleared away dirty dishes and silverware that he took away my bread plate and butter knife before I was finished with them. The vibe was good, I really liked the decor and my wife and I laughed that we couldn't believe that this was a Pier One. We started with the lobster and crab cake. The steaks were delicious. We had a great dinner experience here on New Year's Eve. Without reservations, we were able to snag seats at the very crowded bar. Despite the number of people, the bartender kept up with us very well. My dirty martini was made perfectly, and we never went without water. We started with the calamari, which wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The filet with mushrooms was outstanding, and my husband enjoyed his strip steak, as well. I'd also recommend the potato au gratin--excellent! Surprisingly, one of the best parts of the meal was the crème brûlée cheesecake!! So yummy! My first visit was a party of 5 in the dining room. I've eaten at many Capital Grilles over the years. Most aspects of this visit met expectations including the quality of the meal, the friendliness of the wait staff and the overall vibe. That said, this is a location still working to find their stride. The pace of the meal was off. Our second drink took 20 minutes to be brought to the table and their was almost 45 minutes between the salads and the entrees. It was busy for midweek and the wait staff seemed a bit overwhelmed. Management was aware of it and provided complimentary desserts which was appreciated. Overall, a good experience that I'm sure will only improve with time. STRIKE ONE! UPDATE: My second visit was with a party of 4 in the bar area. Food taste was OK but again service was friendly but unprofessional. They made a mistake on my drink order using a bar brand instead of my specific premium request. They had to throw it out and remake it. Whoever brought the food to the table had no idea who ordered which meal and we had to move food around after it was dropped off. STRIKE TWO! My third visit was a party of 2 in the bar area. Again, very friendly service but unprofessional. The food drop again went wrong when she had no idea who ordered what and we had to call her back to move the plates since they were so hot. This time the food quality and taste also missed the mark. How does a kitchen let a wagyu burger go out on a burnt bun...to both of us. It's all you taste. STRIKE THREE! In summary, this is a restaurant that is poorly managed with staff that has subpar training. They can get things right occasionally as the mixed reviews show but that's their problem...total lack of consistency. I have been to a few different Capital Grilles thru the years and wanted to try this newer location especially since local to me. It was my wife's birthday so we thought why not. We started out with cocktails which were one of the hits. The signature pineapple vodka martini was fantastic. We ordered a wedge salad, tenderloin with crab meat, tenderloin with lobster tails and a filet with creamed corn and truffle fries as sides. The wedge salad was ok. There was not enough dressing and a piece or two of the lettuce was browning. The bacon included was fantastic. The tenderloin in both meals was fine (not great but not bad). It was the lobster that was the largest disappointment. It simply had zero flavor. Conversely, the filet my wife ordered was fantastic. To their credit, they removed the lobster dish from our check. (classy thing to do). The creamed corn with that same bacon was fantastic but the truffle fries were just ok. They were not fresh cut, and it seemed like they just sprinkled some cheese on the top. I have had much better fries at our local pizza place. We tried to skip dessert but they insisted we wait because it was my wife's birthday. They dropped a card and some cute confetti with birthday wishes. Again, this was very lovely. However, they made us wait about 30 minutes to bring out some mini birthday desserts (cheesecake and lava cake--both delicious). This brings me to the service. Although it was prompt and professional until the end of the meal when it wasn't, it was too robotic. I felt like I was being waited on by Stepford wives with zero personality. I understand the need to train for consistency, but at my table, it felt like they were only allowed to say certain things and show zero personal touch. I don't know about you but great service with personality is part of the experience especially at these prices. I swear the server and her assistant said the word "perfect" 25 times. My first visit, we were celebrating our 42 anniversary. From the time we arrived to the time we left we were treated like family Our table was decorated with hearts. Staff were truly amazing, attentive without the feeling of rushed or hovered over. The food excellent my steak Oscar was perfectly prepared to order arriving after an appetizer of raw oysters and calamari. I read some earlier reviews that panned the dish. It seems they either had bad luck ( not likely) or bad taste, my steak arrived well crusted and red , warm and juicy, the bed of asparagus was al dente and just enough. After all the meal was the steak and crab not steak and asparagus. We were surprised with a desert sampler and the coconut cream pie. Closing with complimentary champagne. We too had a reservation issue as others did. Arrived at 5:20 for a 5:30 reservation only to be told it would be 10-15 minutes until the table would be ready which although not ideal is acceptable. We were finally seated 45 minutes late with zero apology, nor did a Manager even speak to us. Very disappointed in this location as this is the first time ever we had a customer service issue at Capital Grille at the many locations we have visited.
