    Pork Milanese Marsala
    Andrew R.

I was debating between the Chicken-Fried Chicken & the Pork Milanese Marsala so I asked the waitress. She said the pork is one of her faves and it's a big portion. She wasn't kidding. Not only was it a delightful experience for my tastebuds, it covered the entire plate. This was one of the few times I couldn't finish my meal. It probably didn't help that I had an order of their amazing bread and butter. I love the vibe at this spot. They serve top notched meals in a casual environment. I have visited this spot at least 10 times and they don't miss. My wife has the Rye & Gochujang Radiatori. I tasted it and it was delish. I never thought to add gochujang to a pasta dish, but I will be doing that in the future. If you have room for something sweet, end your meal by sharing Brioche Doughnuts. We get them every time we visit.

Dining area -- lights too bright

If just reviewing the food, this would be a 5. The beet salad was so unique and artfully crafted, I've never had a beet salad quite like that. Also loved the smash burger -- delicious and no pretentious frills -- but the fries were the standout; homemade, hearty and crispy. The pumpkin and pretzel casarecce pasta was very tasty as well, and the small-sized portion was plenty. Clearly the chef is talented and takes their work seriously. Given that they don't sell liquor & you can bring your own, the prices are fantastic. Cheapest dinner I've had since the early 2000s lol. They do have some N/A wines, beers and cocktails for those who don't care about booze. I could see this place being perfect for breakfast or lunch because it has beautiful views of the river. We came for dinner, and within 20-30 minutes, it was pitch black outside so we didn't get to enjoy the view. The lighting in the restaurant for dinner is too bright, which takes away from the atmosphere and makes it seem more like a takeout restaurant than upscale dining. Our server was great but the food took way too long to come out. It was about 30 minutes to get a salad. Not sure if they were short-staffed or that's just how it is but because the food was good enough, we will definitely come back to find out!

Exceptionally good Lobster Benedict for brunch! Good service. Great river views! It was a lovely experience.

    Oatmeal

Most people don't get excited over oatmeal, but let me tell you...Charcoal's oatmeal is the best around. Fruit, walnuts if you want, a dash of brown sugar, and a bit of cream that you can add and it's a meal! The atmosphere is perfect with a view of the beautiful Delaware River. Coffee and tea served in really cool mugs. If you have room after breakfast, I'd highly recommend the donut. It's not your regular donut though. Sugared donut with a bit of warm caramel drizzle. Share with a friend...or not.

The wait was a while. They were quite busy for brunch. Food is simple. We did have a nice river view. Good coffee.

I ordered the broccoli rabe & cheese omelette. This is usually my go to order - it's super light, but filling! The servers are always great here! This is one of my favorite brunch spots because of the beautiful views of the Delaware. Perfect breakfast spot!

Loved this little well loved town favorite, our future daughter in law has been coming here since she was little. Nice upstairs with a view of the river. Very friendly service, excellent coffee, delicious food. We would be regulars here, I am sure.

    Do they have gluten-free options?

I honestly don't know. No one in my family or friends has that problem. Call them and ask. They have been very cordial to me on the phone. Good luck!

Is there outside seating for to Covid?

No outdoor seating. Only inside by reservation with limited seating. We went and felt comfortable.

From early conversations with the event manager to the way the entire staff treated me yesterday on-site, Vault's customer service is unmatched. I'd been exchanging emails with Sarah (the event manager) since February to ensure the space was the right fit. Sarah answered all my questions, responded to me in a timely manner, provided ample time for my bridesmaids and I to set up decor and we were permitted to bring our own cake and desserts. The bartender allowed me to Airdrop my custom bridal shower playlist to an iPad that was connected to their surround sound speakers so I could play the music I intended to play. She was attentive, kind and placed purses and miscellaneous items in the back area so it wouldn't be in guest view. She cut the cake for us towards the end of the event. Truly such outstanding service. The event space is located downstairs, completely separate from the main dining area and there is a private restroom. It was a wonderful size for my guest count of 16 people. Everyone in attendance raved about the chicken nachos and the pizza. I personally loved the Wild Mushroom pizza. The food kept getting refilled as the day went on. Each item was labeled and the bar had several menus to look at. This was executed PERFECTLY. I had such a positive experience and would highly recommend Vault Brewing Co. for all your event needs!

The materials make it look like a public facing pub serving new-american food and beer. I was surprised I had never heard of this place as long as I've lived in the area, and now I know why! If you really want to know what it was like.... Walked in, waited 5 minutes with one to two dozen geriatric sun stroked golfers gawking at my wife (one of three females in the building including the bar tender and one waitress?). Eventually someone in a spiffy polo shirt asked if we are here for "a quick lunch". It was past 5. Anyway, I say "Yea, dinner and some beer.". Now at this point, he does not offer to seat us. Instead he just stands there and looks at us. It was super awkward. Taking the initiative, I ask if we should seat ourselves. He says sure sit anywhere you like. Many of the tables were dirty, and they claim they open at 4pm (so its been just an hour yet..). We managed to sit at a clean table in the middle of the room. Then we waited again. Watched a few more walking viagra commercials try to eye fuck my wife and another girl who had the misfortune of being there. I wink at the wife to signal that we might bag it. Waited some more. Kid started getting cranky. No activity. I see the guy that we originally talked to was still hiding in the corner, clearly he wasn't trying to serve us. No utensils/menu/greeting, no activity etc. There was only one waitress and she was clearly busy trying to pretend that she liked golfers. So we bagged it and left. Other then giving this place a shot I have no regrets about walking out. Not planning to try it again. Would not recommend unless you are the type that needs to drink beer when you tell your family you are golfing.
