Came here for a private event in one of their rooms upstairs. Had house wine offerings from white to red and also had appetizers to share, main of choice and dessert. The appetizers were good, fried calamari and bread, the bread was warm and great with the butter. Calamari which was crispy and flavorful. Then we also had a salad and entree of choice. I got the tbone steak med rare and felt like it was a bit more cooked than I would have liked. Overall a very much white table cloth steak house.

Elegant dinner for two. We were celebrating our anniversary and arrived to find our table decorated and with a hand-written card for us. We started off with a complimentary champagne toast, which was completely unexpected. We were seated at a table with a window into the prep kitchen, which was really fun to watch. From the martini shaken table side, through a truly memorable meal, I cannot think of anything that could have made this experience better. Julian was our server and made us feel as we were his only guests. The food - steaks cooked to absolute perfection and tasty sides were melt in your mouth good. Ah-mazing experience for a special occasion or just a nice meal.

Came here for Wagyu and Wine, which is a prix fixe menu of one of three wagyu burgers and a choice of one Duckhorn red wine. The burgers were delicious and the wine divine. Also had a couple cocktails of course - the Black Tie Margarita and the In Fashion. This location is new but it's very nice and has complimentary valet out front.

5th time here and the 2nd time was a miss but the 6th was probably the best and the stars were aligned Michael our server made our night special for a birthday night out. (Had him on a prior visit and he was great then too so ask for him!) Started with the yuzu old fashioned and the crab cocktail which we will def have again it was the best crab cocktail ever had! We had the beet salad and wedge salad. The wedge had these huge pieces of lardons (bacon) and they were crispy nuggets of pork heaven. Oh no I hope my vegan friend isn't reading this. Entree wise we had the NY strip au poivre which was delish but need just of seasoning. I had the seared tuna and that was deelish too! Desert wise we got the free bday creme brûlée and choc flourless cake. All and all a great dinner out! So glad Cap grille opened here at Old Orchard. Just go!

We had a wonderful experience celebrating my mother in laws birthday last night! It started from when we walked in when they overheard two of us saying we were cold and they brought us scarfs. How amazing. The only other place I experienced this was at the Peninsula hotel in Chicago. This service carried over to dinner with our fabulous waiter Justin! He was attentive and on top of everything we needed or wanted. When I told him the Seabass felt a little bland he brought a few different sauces for me to try. They were all so good. The bread service is out of this world. I could have just eaten the bread basket and been content lol. There were a few different types of bread- onion, everything buns, pumpernickel and a big cracker. My favorite was the everything. My daughter got butter noodles but I think next time we would try a different noodle like a spaghetti noodle bc the other noodle was a little hard! My husband got the steak and loved it. He's hard to please with steak because he's used to Chicago steakhouses but Capital Grill stood up to the test! My only recommendation would be to add some more flavor or possible a different sauce to the sea bass. It needed something more. Thank you Justin for a wonderful experience last night! Next time we come we will be asking for you!

The name of our server is Art and honestly no matter the rest of the experience ( which was all good btw) he made it totally worth it. What a GREAT service and what a great person. Keep it up

I have been seeing seeing this around for a bit but its the first time i have tried it. First of its a place you can go to if you want to dress up for dinner. From the ambiance to the service to the price. Definitely for special occasions ot maybe if you are simply craving. I had the Classic NY BONE IN steak. The size was good and seasoned perfectly. Altho i did wanted it medium but i think they misheard me and gave me a medium well instead so i didnt enjoy it as much. We also had a few sides. The Creamy Spinach was missing a tad more cream. The Roasted Mushroom and Asparagus were really good. It would be one of the places to consider when craving for steak. Happy Eating!

Well, we had a first visit to this newest Capital Grille in Chicagoland.   And as with any good, reliable, and consistent franchise, when you walk into one, it's like walking into any other (and we've done all the others in Chicagoland as well as one in Indianapolis) and there's no surprises.  The wife and I came in for lunch and had our usual 5 star experience.  She ordered and enjoyed a two-item "plates" lunch comprising a bowl of clam chowder and seared salmon for $24.  I had their signature cheeseburger (medium) with truffle fries for $21.  They use fontina cheese and it was my first CG burger ever.  Both the big burger and the generous serving of fries were tip-top delicious as expected. All of the staff introduced themselves and were classy and welcoming.  Hannah was our server, Daniel did the water service, and GM Thomas Dierking came by to check on us too.  Knowing that both of our grand-darlings also love burgers, I also asked out of curiosity about their kids' menu.  They have one but it's not printed and you have to ask about it.  Anyway, Hannah found out for us that a kids' burger meal goes for $9 and a kids' mac and cheese goes for $11.  Most kids' meals are great values and these sound the case as well.  Maybe we'll bring 'em in for lunch one day and then I can do a Capital Grille Yelp review from a kid's perspective, lol. Just fyi, the Old Orchard Mall restaurant tax rate is 13.25%, so now you know and you won't be surprised.  The only other little CG difference I noticed was that they don't use the logo'd luxuriously thick paper towels in the restrooms anymore but a plain white but still high quality paper towel.  There also might be a little more natural lighting in this location than the others but then again it was our first day time visit to a Capital Grille.  The End.  Enjoy.

Came here to the new old Orchard location for the first time for Mother's Day brunch. Part of the draw wore the specials just for opening for brunch for Mother's Day. The place is absolutely packed as expected on the holiday. However, we still got a nice table and the weight staff although there are many of them are quite busy. I expect a lot from the capital Grille, considering the reputation in the price point. Therefore it was a little disappointing that waters are offered with lemons or limes. It was also disappointing that no one ever comes around to scrape off the crumbs off of your white tablecloth table. Also, add that for Mother's Day. They didn't even give out a rose or carnation to the mothers who were they are celebrating Mother's Day. These are all the little details it really set apart the competition, considering the amount of steakhouses in the vicinity and now in the suburban vicinity. I would come back again despite some of these details as in general, the service was good. The food quality is incredible so no complaints.

I was trying to find a place at least midway between us and discovered Carlos and Carlos on Yelp. Carlos and Carlos is old school from the perspective you actually have to call the restaurant to make a reservation. The space itself is located in what I think is a condo building. The space itself is compact, with tables relatively close together. We ended up sitting at table next to the kitchen door, which for me turned out not to be too bad as we were not sitting on top of other folks. The restaurant and bar were packed as it was a Saturday. Based on the size of the space and number of tables, I would strongly suggest making a reservation if you go there. We started out with fresh bread and one of their specials for the night: flash fried calamari served w/fresh tomatoes, pepperoncini peppers, shaved garlic, black olives, capers & garlic butter. This was a first for me as I have never had calamari served this way and it was great. Definitely a dish I would drive back to get. The bread was wonderful and hot. I could see through the kitchen as fresh bread was being pulled out of either a warmer or oven, not sure. It was served with some sort of olive oil and pesto, I think. It made for a lovely spread on the bread. For dinner I ordered a dish called "Meatballs" and it was just that, a whole lotta meatballs with some spaghetti thrown in as a side...HAHAHA! Not complaining, just staying a fact. The meatballs and pasta were good, but I would say there was a fair amount of garlic in the dish. I had my dish as a leftover and as I was warming it up, The Doctor commented that he could smell the garlic. The Doctor had the Pollo Vesuvio, which also came with pasta. I had a small piece and it was pretty nice. Again there was more meat than pasta, but again we were not complaining. The chicken was nice and tender and had a lovely flavor to it. My GF got the Risotto Al Fungi (Arborio served with wild mushrooms & goat cheese). Prior to sampling her dish, I would have absolutely stated that this was a dish I would not order in a restaurant as I wouldn't have any interest in it. I tried a spoonful of my GF's and was amazed at how good it was! The broth that the risotto was cooked in was chicken and I think beef. That with the goat cheese made this a very nice dish and the second reason I would drive here to do a repeat visit for dinner. Portion sizes were nice as The Doctor and I had plenty to eat and enough for light snack the next day. My GF had no leftovers, she became a member of the clean plate club. For dessert we shared a slice of the chocolate mousse cake, which was really nice. It had a lovely dark flavor to it and was creamy in texture. Service was nice and everyone was friendly. There is plenty of street parking within walking distance as well. While this is a bit of a drive for us to get to since it is outside of the city, I could see coming back here. I think I want to try a serving of that risotto on my own instead of a taste.

Nice ambiance that's casual enough to feel comfortable bringing my kids, but upscale enough for the evening to feel like a nice night out. Loved the appies - we got the cauliflower hummus and deviled eggs - highly recommend both. As for entrees, chicken sandwich was perfectly fried crispy with not too much breading, on a biscuit. Fries were just ok. They were unfortunately out of the schnitzel I wanted to try so I had the halibut special instead. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the composition of the fish was rather confusing - the lobster bisque-like sauce was fantastic on its own, but overpowered the delicate halibut. The crispy yuca strips went perfectly with the fish, but the dish was finished off with lots of shishito peppers - again, way too overpowering. I would have preferred a much subtler vegetable. Kids Mac and cheese was fantastic, with a hint of what I think was thyme. The drink list was heavily spirit -forward. I ended up getting a sangria which was good, but my husband thought the old fashioned was terrible. The balance of spirit vs bitters was completely off, plus it was served over tiny ice instead of a large cube. To top it all off, the cherry was muddled.

We found this restaurant through the yelp reviews, and, as usual, the yelp wisdom of crowds was correct. The meal was absolutely delicious. Sorry, I can't remember the Georgian names of the dishes but the eggplant rolls filled with walnut paste, the bread with melted cheese and egg yolk and the lamb and potato stew were all great choices. The food tasted home-made, as if a grandmother had cooked for us with love in every bite. Lots of garlic - we love that. Washed down with a glass or dry red Georgian wine, a perfect pairing. We were fully satisfied with our main dishes so were not able to try dessert. Next time. The atmosphere was nice - tablecloths on the table, friendly service, not noisy. We will definitely come back next time we are in the Evanston area.

We didn't love the pkhlovana version as much, but it was still very good (just a lot of onion flavor when we ordered). While super basic, their fried potatoes are insanely good. I'd also recommend any stew on the menu. They have a great selection of Georgian wines as well, which I highly recommend. For those who don't drink alcohol, they offer a wide variety of compotes as well. The decor/ambiance is very Eastern European. There is a coat check at the entrance which is very handy. Service is very friendly, but they have seemed understaffed the times we've gone. It did take some time to get the waitress' attention, but it also seemed that she was the only one taking orders from several tables. Definitely a slower service, but it's good for large groups to talk over a great meal.
