It was not good, I'm sorry. I don't give low reviews frequently. we got the nachos and the beef was so so so so bland. Also, 16 bucks for this plate. Idk I'm not usually down about my food but this wasn't it

So, I'm at Launch Pad Brewery in Bennett, CO, and I see this taco truck, The Captain Tacos and Sushi. I'm thinking, "Hell yeah, tacos and beer? Sign me up!" Big. Freaking. Mistake. They toss a grilled jalapeño with every taco order like it's some kind of Michelin-star flex, but it's just a sad distraction from the trainwreck that follows. I dropped $87--yeah, you read that right--on two orders of beef tacos, one pork taco, two quesadillas, and some beef nachos. My wallet's still crying. The beef tacos? Imagine someone grabbed the sketchiest stew meat from King Soopers' clearance rack, slapped it on the grill without a pinch of salt or a shred of dignity, and called it a taco. It was like biting into tough, fatty chunks of regret. My jaw's still sore from the workout. The quesadillas? Oh, man, they took "basic" to a new low. Flavorless cheese, and--get this--the paper they wrapped it in melted onto the bottom. I was peeling it off like I was defusing a bomb. Who screws up a quesadilla? These guys, that's who. For $87, I could've hit Taco Bell, got a feast, and still had cash left for a six-pack. If I could time-travel, I'd go back to the moment I handed over my card, kick myself in the shins, and sprint to the nearest fast-food joint. This wasn't just bad food--it was a full-on life crisis on a plate. Save your money and your sanity. Skip this truck like you'd skip a shady gas station hot dog from QT.

Five stars for these philanthropic food heroes!! I've spotted this food truck around Denver a few times but hadn't tried it until we were having a charity event at Improper City. These guys had their food truck out back. Our charity event was taking place inside. Long story short, we needed up running out of food for guests pretty early on (and much sooner than we thought we would-- people were hungry!). The gentleman who I presume to be the owner of the food truck, came in and asked about our event. He said we could send people out to his truck and he'd give them some sushi. This gentleman didn't ask for compensation, what an incredible business owner with a good heart! Of course, we encouraged our folks to tip if they could, so I hope most of our folks bought additional items from the truck or tipped a few bucks. Toward the end of the event, I was able to go grab some sushi for myself. And it was BOMB! So good, had a nice spicy kick to it, and he gave a generous portion! I'm making it a point that when I see this truck around town to visit them and place an order. What more can you ask for than excellent, tasty dishes, and a kind owner that is giving back to the community without asking anything in return? Definitely check out this spot and support them when you see them in town!

Hands down some of the best tacos and loaded fries I've ever had. Service was impeccable and order to delivery was very quick. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for them around Denver.

The best food truck experience in a long time. The truck/kitchen is clean, the owner is kind, and the food is fresh and well-prepared. I don't know what else you could ask for in a food truck. We had the loaded fries while sipping some beers at Odyssey Brewery in Arvada.

    Asada fries!

My family and I attended the Thornton festival. The Captain food truck was my mother's choice and she ordered loaded asada fries (picture added) and fried sushi! Both courses were DELICIOUS! The sushi was fresh and amazing! Both courses had all the right flavors and the sauce they served on the side was spicy. The gentleman who attend us was sweet and helpful. Highly recommend this food truck you can feel a good ambiance! They had a good variety of options to pick from the menu. Go check them out or see them at the next event! Don't miss out on the foood it's a vibee

    $14 when paying

Charging approx $2 more per item then what the menu states, as shown in my photos attached to review. Food was expensive to begin with. Quality and portion subpar.

The food is amazing for a food truck! Got the sushi platter and it was loaded!!! Owner is super dope too! Will definitely frequent. Great option for sushi or tacos especially with covid shutting everything down

After my first queso…read moretaco dipped into that rich, glorious consomé, I became someone who casually considers flying to Denver "for lunch." I started going when they were still operating out of their food truck, and honestly, watching them grow into a permanent restaurant feels like seeing your favorite underground band finally make it big... except instead of music, they're dropping cheesy taco masterpieces. The queso tacos are absolutely ridiculous in the best possible way: crispy, cheesy, messy, and worth ruining at least one shirt over. And the consome? That stuff could heal emotional damage. It's rich, comforting, and somehow makes you immediately want "just one more taco" even when you're already full. Every time I'm in Denver, this place is mandatory. Not optional. Not "if there's time." Mandatory. My vacation itinerary basically starts with flights and ends with tacos. So happy to see Kike's getting the recognition they deserve. If you haven't been yet, prepare to have your standards permanently ruined for all other tacos.

The horchata, though? Genuinely great. I actually also really liked the elote but my partner didn't. The consomé was fine, nothing memorable. It's a decent enough spot to swing by, but I'm not going out of my way to come back tbh.

It's also very unassuming. It looks like a very small restaurant on the outside but once you are inside, you'll be shocked to see its good size dining area. This place is all about happiness. I mean seriously!! They care about their customers that get satisfied with their service and meals. And it does draw a very diverse crowd from the Hispanics to Caucasians to Asians, I mean you name it. They also get a lot of to-go orders. Some people came in, grabbed their food and went on their way for the night. My friend got the Torta Los Carboncito. This is a massive sandwich with plenty of meat inside. Since the menu has colored picofor almost each item, what caught my attention was the fish dish. There are two of them: one is trout and the other is something else (I forgot) but I got me the non-trout one. The lady asked me if I wanted the flour or corn tortillas so I went with the corn one. As soon as I got home, my late night snacking started. I only took several bites out of that whatever the huge fish. And oh my goodness, it was so delicious! Well-seasoned with very light salt. Although I mainly got it for tomorrow morning/lunch I had a hard time quit eating because of its deliciousness. Extremely welcoming staff (I even met the owner, Alex as he was dining with his family), quality food and value pricing, this place checks out for the hidden gem restaurant that's not necessarily super fancy but it's worth every penny and time. Yelping is so much fun. That is why I cannot quit my foodie-ness! What a nice discovery!

The food was delicious! We got $2 chips and salsa off the happy hour menu and the queso con soyrizo (not on HH menu) which was served with warm tortillas. Honestly we probably didn't need all that because the tacos were so good I could've just filled up on more of the tacos, but still was a great meal! I ordered the lengua, pastor, and taco special (breaded shrimp). They were all so good. Think taco quality of a good street taco spot but with the ambiance of a cute tex mex bar. The bartender was great and made a solid marg ($8 on happy hour). You get a great deal on taco Tuesday but I'm sure you'd get great service and quality any day of the week!

Then you are driving the neighborhood hoping to find a spot. Finally parked and walked to the restaurant. Host told me it would be 30 minutes but the actual wait was 50 minutes. Spend so much time parking and then waiting, at what point do you give up and leave empty handed? Restaurant is VERY LOUD. Finally got a table and ordered OFF MENU. Server agreed to substitute shrimp for my enchiladas and they were good! Fresh corn tortillas were the highlight. Ordered tres leches cake and enjoyed it too.
