I was intrigued when I first came across this truck, it is not often you see both sushi and tacos in one truck. I go the pastor tacos and they were delicious! They absolutely are using a family recipe and very happy they are sharing it with the people of Denver. When I approached the staff was talking to each other as I just stood there. I had to wait over an hour for my food. They served everyone who ordered after I did and I had to go up to them multiple times asking where my food was because they weren't communicating at all. When I finally got my food, I confronted them and all she said was "I understand" which is not acceptable customer service at all. read more

They came to my kid's school carnival. It took 45 mins to get my food. They kept taking orders when they knew they were backed up and told everyone "20 minutes". That's when you should stop taking orders and go help make them. Not ok to make families stand next to the truck for so long. read more

So, I'm at Launch Pad Brewery in Bennett, CO, and I see this taco truck, The Captain Tacos and Sushi. I'm thinking, "Hell yeah, tacos and beer? Sign me up!" Big. Freaking. Mistake. They toss a grilled jalapeño with every taco order like it's some kind of Michelin-star flex, but it's just a sad distraction from the trainwreck that follows. I dropped $87--yeah, you read that right--on two orders of beef tacos, one pork taco, two quesadillas, and some beef nachos. My wallet's still crying. The beef tacos? Imagine someone grabbed the sketchiest stew meat from King Soopers' clearance rack, slapped it on the grill without a pinch of salt or a shred of dignity, and called it a taco. It was like biting into tough, fatty chunks of regret. My jaw's still sore from the workout. The quesadillas? Oh, man, they took "basic" to a new low. Five stars for these philanthropic food heroes!! I've spotted this food truck around Denver a few times but hadn't tried it until we were having a charity event at Improper City. These guys had their food truck out back. Our charity event was taking place inside. Long story short, we needed up running out of food for guests pretty early on (and much sooner than we thought we would-- people were hungry!). The gentleman who I presume to be the owner of the food truck, came in and asked about our event. He said we could send people out to his truck and he'd give them some sushi. This gentleman didn't ask for compensation, what an incredible business owner with a good heart! Of course, we encouraged our folks to tip if they could, so I hope most of our folks bought additional items from the truck or tipped a few bucks. Toward the end of the event, I was able to go grab some sushi for myself. And it was BOMB! So good, had a nice spicy kick to it, and he gave a generous portion! I'm making it a point that when I see this truck around town to visit them and place an order. What more can you ask for than excellent, tasty dishes, and a kind owner that is giving back to the community without asking anything in return? Always Atleast an hour late, and then doesn't know what's posted on their own menu and be confused when I ask for something. When it comes to sushi either say they're not serving sushi at all or the sushi will take over 20-25 minutes to be ready. They've entirely forgotten my order after I waited the 20 minutes I was told they would have to make it then and I'd have to wait another 15 min. Today, I waited 45 min because he obviously forgot about my order and others were served before mine was even made. I've tried not to say anything but it's happened more than twice now. Food is great, but being late and unprepared and confused puts off of ordering again. Please, discuss professionalism and time waiting, this is unreasonable. read more

We had an event at Raices in which we were subjected to use this food truck as a caterer due to a contract with the event location. After many times trying to contact to arrange services for the event without a call back, I had to get Raices involved to get the owner to contact me and that was only after I went through Truckster to try to reach the owner. When he did reach out to me by phone, he let me know that he preferred that the event of 80 people use the food truck even though we were looking for a buffet. I insisted on a buffet as I did not want people standing in line and ordering. I put our agreed upon menu and times in writing by email and waited for a contract/invoice which never came. The only communication I received from the owner was a call in which he insisted that I contact Truckster so he did not have to pay a fee to them. The night before the event I reached out to confirm details as we still did not receive anything in writing from the owner. On the day of the event, the food truck was an hour late without the agreed upon menu and charged us an outrageous $8.50 per street taco. The listed price on the truck is $10.95 for 3 street tacos. Most of our people for the event had already left or acquired food elsewhere by the time the food was ready. I brought all of the issues to the attention of the owner the next day and asked him to reevaluate what he had charged us since he was late without the proper menu which he admitted to. He did nothing to accommodate his shortcomings. Furthermore, he added on gratuity! As I had to use my personal phone to call to see where the food was when they were late, the owner then proceeded to send angry texts about "ghosting" him while the invoice was being processed. I explained to him that the invoice should have been provided ahead of the event to allow timing for corporate payment processes. Be warned that this food truck is not equipped to handle catering. I also believe the owner to be very unprofessional. read more
