I needed a room carpeted in a HUGE rush due to another vendor cancelling without even notifying me. I was making calls and spoke to Tony Kopalian at Carpet Showcase and explained the situation and rush. He had me come down and pick the carpet promising to try and get his installation team to work late. He didn't even ask for a deposit. Within 2 hours his expert installation team was on the job changing out the room's carpet. In fact his install team did a much better job than the prior installer in making the transition to other rooms smooth and easy. If I could give this place a negative 100000 I would. STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY! These people will guarantee everything and anything, but when the time comes they do an awful job! We hired them to install floors in our bathrooms and they did a SUCH a sloppy job that one of my bathrooms completely flooded under their installation, creating MOLD! Unfortunately they had installed the floors right before I had a baby and then Covid hit, so we were unable to have anyone come and fix our bathrooms. FINALLY when I got a hold of someone and told them what was happening, and that we had called a Plummer to fix the mess, and the Plummer said that it was the poor installation, the guy or the owner said, "I don't give a damn who that Plummer is, he's not God, Sue me, this job was done after the 1 year warranty, SUE ME!". Rude, disrespectful, aggressive, unprofessional crooks! My entire bathroom is now covered in mold and they won't help blaming it on us! It's so disgusting how these people take advantage of families and do such a fake dirty job! I have included the photos or their work, the mold, the water that had built up under their sloppy done work, AND what my floors and walls look like now after. Very disappointing service and non-stop lies from the owner. I bought from this store for the 3rd time and was promised all sorts of repeat customer discounts. Those never came, but I did get handed as I walked out a squirt bottle of carpet cleaner. Fast forward 15 months later and the carpet was bubbling in the center and lifting up a little in the sides. I went into the store to see about getting that fixed. I was told it's not covered after a year and that it would be a minimum of $350 or $250 if I paid cash by the owner. He also told me that he'd call me in two weeks to schedule, that never happened. I've left two messages for him and never a call back. Luckily there are other carpet stores in town who are reliable and stand behind their work. Carpet Showcase only stands behind it until they get your payment and then you're no one. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and shoddy. Work and buy elsewhere, they won't miss you. read more

I purchased Luxury Vinyl from Tony Kopalian, the owner of Showcase Carpet in Sherman Oaks, CA. When the existing carpet was removed, it was obvious that my existing 70 year old hardwood floor planks underneath the carpet, were bowed, loudly squeaking, needed to be removed first, and not suitable for Luxury Vinyl placed over them as they were. FMy bad floor is no one's problem but my own. Tony could have simply called and told me, that installing was not possible, cancelled, and we could have cancelled and parted friends. Instead, with me out of town, and the house vacant, Tony's installer tried to force and bend 200 sq feet of bad 70 year old flooring down using screws. The squeaking with screws he put in was just as loud as without them. The installer should have stopped immediately. Instead, he put down 200 sf of vinyl. The squeaking on his work was very loud. The screw heads he put it in, eventually, would have left imprints visible on top of the flooring. Vinyl is 4.4 millimeters thick. After telling me I could have a refund, he became unpleasant in an email to me, and on the phone. He said he was doing me a favor by refunding my money. If Tony Kopolian would like, I can post his nasty email, provide photos and videos, and 4 witness statements. read more

Sadly, I would NOT recommend this company. The owner, Tony K, seems knowledgeable and was helpful during the sales process, but he dropped the ball after that. His customer service skills left a lot to be desired. His workers did not show up on time, did inferior work, and had bad attitudes. They were uncooperative, messy, and left debris everywhere. They damaged furniture, shutters, did not use drop cloths, and refused to move furniture back even though doing so was included in my costs. They installed grossly mismatched baseboards and did not miter them properly. They removed padding from a carpeted area and didn't replace it. When I expressed my concerns to the owner, he was defensive and yelled at me. Although the original estimate was reasonable and comparable, it ended up costing me significantly more money in the end because I had to pay others to repair the shoddy work and damages. The owner contacted me one week after installation looking for the balance due. When I explained all of the above, he yelled at me again. I told him I would be deducting the cost of repairs from my balance, and he said I couldn't do that. In summary, this company is UNPROFESSIONAL, to say the least. The owner NEVER came to my home to see what the job entailed. He never came to supervise the workers nor did he accept my invitation to come view the finished job and the damages. Clearly, all he cared about was collecting the money - he never inquired about the quality of the work nor customer satisfaction. Instead he yelled at me repeatedly and argued with me; he refused to be accountable and accused ME of irresponsibility....and now he is threatening to take me to small claims court. I've worked with him twice over the last few months at 2 different homes, and each time my experience has been really terrific. For him to be the previous owner and going out of business, shows how risky it is to use this company. I placed my initial order with Tony at the Carpet Showcase on April 2. At the time I gave him a $1000 deposit. There was a delay in my project so I did not need the material immediately. When I called him in mid-August he told me that the order had been canceled. No one ever thought to call me to tell me that the order was going to be canceled and, of course, nobody returned my $1000 deposit. By coincidence, the material was still available but, to reinstate the order the price would have to increase. My flooring was picked up and, upon installation, I discovered all kinds of variations in the finish. When I questioned Tony about it he sent me a photo saying that was the manufacturer's standard. I was never supplied with a photo when I placed my initial order (though he claimed the photo was always on the back of the finish sample). The variations in the wood did not show on the 2'x3' sample I had for approval. To solve the issue and receive a consistent finish throughout my home, I had to buy an additional thousand dollars worth of material. He was "kind enough" to give me reduced pricing for the additional material. Now, my project is complete and I have 230 ft.² of inconsistent unusable material sitting in my garage. I will never use Carpet Showcase again and I would not recommend them to anyone. I am not prone to Yelping but, when I feel screwed and lied to, I have to speak out. read more

Sperling Carpet, Sherman oaks carpet, show case Carpet this place has been called so many names but one thing remains the same Mark Sperling is a crook! He keeps changing his company names or is running his company under someone else's name. Maybe the Latin guy Tony who is paid to cover his ass. He took our money and never delivered our carpet. When my husband went into his shop to confront him after days of non returned phone calls I waited in the car. I saw Mark pull up get out of his car tony gave him a hand signal that my husband was inside waiting for him and Mark ran back to his car like a coward not knowing I was watching the whole thing from outside. We are out so much money because of him. After calling him over and over again I finally got a call back but it was from his attorney telling me that Mark is filing for bankruptcy and he owes me nothing and I best stop "harassing" him. I filed a small claims case and he never showed nor have I seen a penny. He is a true con man. After all was said and done I found out that were countless people who spent thousands of dollars on deposits and work and the job was never completed. Til this day you can google sperling carpets and see his D rating on the BBB. He has a lot of nerve to stay in the same location after burning so many people. Hiding under different names is only going to get you so far. I truly wonder how this man sleeps at night. Don't give this guy a penny of your hard earned money. read more

If you liked used car salesman, then you'll love working with the guys at Carpet Showcase. Similar to M.H.K's experience (see review), we had a lovely first impression of Mark who showed us a number of different carpets and even came to the house to measure the next business day. He recommended a carpet that he though was affordable, but also durable. It was a great experience at the onset. Then, the installation day came. Nothing was particularly wrong with the way they installed the carpet, but it was not a good experience at all. We hadn't heard from Carpet Showcase to confirm our installation, so my wife called to confirm that they would be there at 8:30. Since we weren't living in the house, she drove over there with our newborn baby to meet the installers. They were over an hour late and made no apology for the tardiness. This is where it gets bad... I called Mark (the gentleman who had been so nice BEFORE we made our purchase) and expressed frustration that his installers did not arrive when they said they would, which threw off a number of things in our schedule. His response: "It's just an hour; drop it and get over it." He basically chewed me out over the phone and told me I was being unreasonable because there's traffic in LA. Hey, I can understand being 15-20 minutes late, but over an hour seems a little excessive. It would have been nice to get an proper apology, or at least a little discount for the inconvenience. Actually, it would have been nice just to be treated with a little respect since I'm a paying customer. Instead, I got a halfhearted apology, I was told I'm silly for expecting someone to arrive when they said they would, and I got no discount. If someone is willing to treat someone else this poorly, I wonder if he really just sold me a bill of goods. Hard to trust a company that clearly doesn't put the customer first. read more

We wanted some vinyl flooring for our irregularly shaped bathroom and went here because it was close and I didn't want to sit in traffic. They had a good selection and quoted us $12.50/sqft installed, which was a little higher than we wanted to pay but we went for it anyway. The had a scheduling problem and instead of showing up late, they called the day before to let us know (they has to push us 2.5 hours) and they took half as long as they said they would. It looks great and we're very happy with the results. Plus, they stuck to the price. No upselling, no surprises. We had them look at another floor problem we had and they said they could handle it without having to replace the whole floor. They're honest, good people who do honest, good business. -However, they got four stars instead of five because they didn't bring any plastic or other protection to put down on the floors for the equipment they brought in. You'd probably have to ask them if it was important for you when you book the job. We didn't. read more

Very happy customer! Purchased carpet & padding for our new house from Carpet Showcase. They removed the old carpet and installed the new carpet beautifully. Lots of remnants to choose from in their warehouse. That's where we found our Shaw Tuftex carpet. Great service from store to home. They kept things simple, unlike some other stores we visited. Was worried it'd be expensive because of the location but they beat everyone else prices! They accepted a $200 Shaw coupon even though it was recently expired. My first experience with the Carpet Showcase was very positive. The salesman answered all of my questions and was very helpful. Although I didn't end up making a purchase at the time, I went back recently to make a different purchase. Big mistake! The purchase itself went smoothly. But when the installers arrived my construction crew had a lot of questions. (It turned out that they wanted some or all of the carpet installed after we put in some custom closet cabinets arriving the next day.) I called the salesman at the Carpet Showcase with questions about delivery charges, whether we could arrange for a second delivery or it would be better to defer everything, and questions about measurements and pricing since it turned out I would need less carpet than anticipated. The salesman was clearly irritated by the questions. Some of the answers I got didn't make sense to me, and I needed to clarify a few things. I asked him if I could call him back in a few minutes with a final decision once I had spoken with the construction crew and my husband, and he became extremely angry. He told me that he "didn't have to deal with this hassle" and hung up on me. Then he called the installers and instructed them to walk out in the middle of the job. The salesman was even going to charge me an installation charge for the job that he abandoned! He did rethink that, though, and I was refunded the entire deposit amount. ...and to think I might be the only one! I have frequented and recommended this place many times. I have always done business with what appeared to be the ONLY knowledgeable person Tony. Having recently purchased two large area rugs with a promised completion date and a decent price we were thrilled. Days later when not only were our rugs days late (promised completion was especially important due to an event being held in our home) noone knew where they were. I returned days later to find Mark, closing early and appearing overwhelmed and inept as he was desperately searching for the money that he had misplaced from the days reciepts. I asked to pay my remaining balance of 300 and Mark said ,"let me give you my cell number and you can call me over the weekend and give me your credit card number and I will run your card over the phone. The following days brought me a plethora of voice mails. When I finally listened to these vm's they became more and more threatening "you cannot hide ***** I will find you." "***** you cannot do this" I finally called and spoke directly to Mark and the anger and venom he spewed on the phone became more and more intense. He took no responsibility and his adolescent behavior - name calling, threats and raising his voice caused me to disconnect from the store, Mark and anything associated with. After reading the other reviews I see that Mark (the self proclaimed owner )is as desperate, catty, and insecure as he appears. When people show you who they are...believe them. read more
