Wes stopped here on a Friday at 10:00am. The person at the front was super helpful since we had a gift card but it was tricky to redeem it online. They helped us out and we were able to redeem it. We got a coffee and a banana bread for items with the admission price. They recommended us not to take the food in since they have a cat that's food obsessed heehee. We loved petting the kitty's and laying with them. They have some energized cats and some chill ones. They have elder cats and younger kittens. It was a lovely experience to pet the cats and give them some love. Maybe someday we will adopt one! I'd return!! read more

Right off the bat, what a pleasant experience! I would be happy to visit again and give the cats some love. I made a reservation online for two for Saturday at 11AM. Each reservation cost about $24.00. That includes an hour of time with the cats, and a drink/snack from the café per person. My partner got a chai latte, and I grabbed a brown sugar(?) cinnamon roll. Both were very good! Special thank you to the barista for the recommendation and the delicious drink. The play-room itself was very nice, with plenty of seating, toys, and CATS! Even with six other guests in the same hour, there was plenty of everything to go around. As with any group of animals (and people), each had their own personality and preferences. JC stayed perched on the palm tree and loved to get pet. The older Bengal cat didn't like being touched, but was a joy to watch. Tatiana (pictured on the table) was slow to warm up to us, but loved to play with the cat dancer. There were about ten cats altogether. The employee inside clearly cares about each cat. I always love visiting the cats when I'm in town. Jaycey is the only resident cat since Leo sadly passed away. Jaycey is lovable and always has a lot to say when you talk to her. I was eyeing this place when I first arrived at my hotel right across the street. I didn't have a free minute until last morning before I flew out. I was lucky enough that they were able to accommodate me. The fee for dop in was $23 which included a beverage or baked goods. I got an iced tea that she made fresh. There is a staff in the cat room who oversee the visit (do and don't) and gave history about each cat. I was able to visit for about 40 minutes before I had to leave for the airport. This is the fourth time I've been here and I can safely say my last. Each time I come back I hope that I just remembered it wrong and will give them another chance. Nope. The owner is abrasive and everything's too structured. By contrast, the cafe in La Jolla is the complete opposite. They still supervise but there's no requirement for a reservation, no standing around until precisely 10:01 ( or whatever time you reserved ) and no constant narration. This place is just too strict. My husband is allergic to cats, and if he weren't, I would've been a cat lady. My kids also like cats, so we get our fix at Cat Cafes. This is our favorite cat cafe in San Diego. The staff has always been friendly. They are great with my kids at explaining the rules and guiding them for a better interaction with the cats. My youngest likes to ask questions, and the staff have been polite in answering them. There are permanent resident cats; all of the other cats are adoptable. It's nice to see that the adoptable cats don't stay for that long. Admission: It's the same price for adults and children $25 Children have to be at least 6 years old You can also get a membership. If I didn't have dogs who let me know that they are not pleased that I'm spending time with cats I would have been all over that membership. One of my dogs doesn't greet me when I come home they look at me take one whiff and walk away. It's about 50 minutes that you get to spend with the cats. With the admission it comes with your choice of a drink or food item. I have enjoyed the items I've received here, including sandwiches, baked goods, and beverages. The other cat cafes do not offer anything else besides time with the cats. Parking: Street parking. You can get lucky and find free parking, but most street parking is paid. Cat Area: Ample toys for you to engage with the cats. There are areas for people to sit. The area is well-maintained. Take a look at the binders of cats who have been adopted. It was a wonderful experience. My daughter had a great time. We don't have any cats at home, since my husband is a dog guy. My daughter LOVES cats. She's very young so I wanted her to just experience cats. She was thrilled! We got there and was greeted by the owner. He was very kind and friendly. Gave me an iced tea that was really nice since it was hot outside. We did get there early, so we waited in the lobby for our time to come. The windows that see into the cat room was cool. My daughter was watching through the windows hyping herself up for the experience. Cats are cats. They aren't loving like dogs, but they do appreciate a good petting. My daughter played with the younger cat that had more energy. The older cats were napping but they still let us pet them. We didn't stay the entire hour, but it's okay. I love a good cat cafe so when I saw there was one near my hotel during a recent trip, I knew we had to check it out. Admission on the website says you get one drink or snack item when you check in but the worker didn't bring it up or ask what we wanted so we felt awkward asking for it. One thing I have always appreciated when visiting animal-focused organizations is when staff members share stories about the animals. Ask visitors if they have pets of their own. Tell them about a cat's personality. Explain which cats are available for adoption and what makes them unique. Those small conversations help create a connection between visitors and the animals. They also make guests feel welcome. Instead, the interaction felt transactional and detached. After getting our drinks, we looked into the cat room. This was another area where I felt disappointed. The room itself felt dreary and outdated. Cats naturally enjoy vertical spaces. They like to climb, perch, and observe their surroundings from different heights. A cat-friendly environment usually includes wall shelves, climbing structures, window perches, scratching posts, and enrichment opportunities that encourage exploration and activity. What I saw felt very limited in comparison to what I expected. The cat furniture looked old and worn. There were few elevated spaces, limited window access, and not much environmental enrichment visible throughout the room. Instead of feeling like a carefully designed cat environment, it felt more like a room filled with donated furniture and older cat trees that had accumulated over time. I understand that rescues often operate on limited budgets and rely heavily on donations. I truly respect the work that rescues do. However, visitors are paying admission fees specifically to spend time with these cats. It seems reasonable that at least a portion of that revenue could be invested back into improving the environment for both the cats and the visitors. There are so many opportunities to create a more engaging space. Additional shelving, updated cat trees, more scratching surfaces, improved seating, and more attractive décor could dramatically improve the atmosphere. The room has potential, but currently it feels neglected and uninspiring. Another issue was the lack of comfortable seating. When I imagined visiting a cat café, I pictured a relaxing environment where guests could sit comfortably, enjoy a beverage, read a book, work on a laptop, or simply spend time interacting with cats. Instead, seating was extremely limited. There were only a few chairs and a table, which made the room feel less like a café and more like a waiting area. A comfortable environment encourages visitors to stay longer, relax, and build meaningful interactions with the animals. Without that atmosphere, the experience feels rushed and uncomfortable. Before entering the cat room, we were instructed to leave our belongings in a cubby area. While I understand the reasoning behind policies designed to protect the animals, the overall process felt cold and impersonal. The biggest issue, however, was the gentleman supervising the cat area. From the moment we entered, I felt uncomfortable. Rather than creating an environment where visitors felt welcomed and informed, the interaction felt controlling and hostile. I completely understand that rules are necessary. Cats should never be handled improperly, and staff have a responsibility to protect them. I fully support boundaries designed to ensure the safety and comfort of the animals. The problem was not the existence of rules. The problem was how those rules were communicated. The entire interaction felt as though we were being monitored and corrected rather than welcomed and guided. I constantly felt as though if I interacted with a cat incorrectly--even unintentionally--I would be reprimanded. Instead of relaxing and enjoying the experience, I felt tense and anxious. As a result, my sister and I left after approximately thirty minutes despite paying for a longer visit. The gentleman appeared to be the owner, which made the experience even more disappointing. Leadership sets the tone for any establishment. Visitors look to owners and managers to create a welcoming atmosphere and establish a positive culture. The experience of hanging out with the cats was overshadowed by the bad experience of the employee we were being supervised by. The man who supervised my group and the other people today (wearing a red t shirt) was extremely abrasive and down right rude. The young girl who was asking simple questions were met with sarcastic comments and passive aggressive responses. For instance, the poor girl (who initially was interested in adoption) asked "are all the cats neutered?" To which he responded "there would be 100 cats if they weren't. What do you think?" I'm a sucker for cat cafes. This is one of the larger ones I have visited. Make a reservation! I believe they take wak-ins but why take a chance at getting shut out when it takes five minutes to reserve a time slot? You get any snack or any gourmet coffee drink included with your reservation. That's a nice perk, especially when some of the coffee drinks run up to around six dollars. Plus, you can take your snack or coffee into the cat area, which isn't always allowed at every cat cafe. They had nine cats during our visit. Most slept the entire time--not unusual--but at least two were pretty frisky. Parking is terrible downtown but you either will find a street spot or you will need to bite the bullet and pay for a parking lot or garage. It is great fun. For most of the session, one employee spent time playing with two cats instead of engaging visitors who had actually paid to be there. It gave the impression that guests were more of an afterthought. Ambiance: 1/5 The space was small and dreary, with only a few tables, worn-out toys, and melancholy music that made the room feel uninviting. The cats were largely antisocial, keeping their distance for nearly the entire hour. I ended up sitting at my table sipping my drink with little interaction, which made me question where the steep admission fee is going. Overall I cannot recommend this café. The cats showed no interest in visitors, the atmosphere was gloomy, and the service left much to be desired. I even considered leaving early because of how dull and discouraging the experience was. I've seen cat cafes on TV and on social media, I was very excited to see one down the street from our new home! I loved the set up, if you want to just go in for coffee and peek in the kitty window you can. Or you can schedule a kitty visit, if I remember correctly your visit includes a beverage. You go in with a small group of people and get to visit with the kitties for just under an hour. It's clean and bright with lots of kitty toys and perches and, of course, kitties!! The cat litter boxes are in another room, that the cats access by 2 small holes in the wall. There's a ginormous filter in the ceiling, which was quite impressive - so much that I took a picture to share. They offer a one-time visit fee and monthly membership. We met a gal that had a membership, and it seems like the perfect way to help them help cats and get some mental health time for yourself! I highly suggest you go get your kitty fix! read more

Nothing beats hanging out with adoptable cats. There wasn't one stressed out cat, that I noticed, and I notice that kind of thing. Maybe a little sleepy, but an overstimulated catto is much better than an under-stimulated one. There was an attendant in the room with us at all times to offer information and ensure everyone behaved themselves, humans included. They rotate a group of people through every hour. Although they do take walk-ins, reservations are highly encouraged. I can't imagine anymore people coming in with us, there were at least seven other people in the room with us competing for cuddles. I imagine this place must be off the hook at night since cats are nocturnal. Our appointment time was for noon and most of the cats were either sleeping or sleepy-but-open-for-visitors. If you want to see cats at their peak, maybe go in the morning. If you want to see cats, go anytime. read more

I recently visited The Cat Cafe and unfortunately, my experience wasn't what I expected. While the cats themselves were absolutely adorable, the overall atmosphere made it difficult to fully enjoy the visit. Walked in, there was a dark haired/ bearded, heavy set man making coffee at the front check in who was very arrogant shooing us off saying its "appointment only." Ive never been to a cat cafe before, so I asked if we could look around first before making an over $22 per person appointment (so about $50 dollars) and scheduling without knowing what you're making an appointment for. He was very condescending and rude, for just asking questions brushing me off repeating no I cannot look at the cafe before doing a reservation or spending $50 and "people do it regularly." I do not recommend spending over $50 for a place you have no idea what it's like, and employees brush you off just repeating that you need a reservation without answering questions. They just expect you to spend that without any other interaction and shortness. Will not recommend this place to anyone with how bad their employees are. read more

These are the CUTEST little critters!!! I want to include 100 photos but I don't want to spoil the experience for you. They have 12 cats (as of now) and some of them used to be street cats so some of their ears are chipped. They were all happy and relaxed cats, and some were very energetic when played with! With our visit we got to choose one free item from their menu. I got a cute cat paw cookie (pictured) and my friend got an iced coffee. I have been to several cat cafes in the US and this one was a little different because of how relaxed it was. Other cat cafes have asked us to remove our shoes and wear indoor slippers (probably for sanitary reasons) and to use hand sanitizer before entering the cat room. We were very excited to see the cats and our first interaction with the employee working was not a very pleasant one. My teen daughter has been looking forward to going to a Cat Cafe. We went this past Tuesday, 7/11 and had a reservation from 2 to 3 pm. We decided to get there early as it's always finicky about finding parking. We arrived around 1:45ish. The cost for each person is $20 and it comes with either a free drink or snack item. My daughter had a Mocha Frapp and I ordered a Tuxedo Mocha. It was so yummy and delicious, perfect for a hot day! Our time came to pet the kitties. My girlfriend and I visited on vacation and had an amazing time. The cats are amazing and the people who run it clearly care very well for them. Make sure to make an appointment and arrive on the hour. They only bring people into the cat room once an hour. The cats are all nice and have a variety of fun personalities. Some are very playful and you can play with them with a variety of toys they have. Some of the cats there have received very expensive veterinary care and surgeries which shows that they really care. If you love cats this is the place for you. Some people have complained in reviews that are very inaccurate based on our experience. I understand it is inconvenient to make an appointment but it is worth it. The staff are very kind and friendly as well. Take the time to ask them about some of the cats.
