Finally stopped in after walking by it many times and found that it's very cute inside with quite a lot of seating. It has a cozy vibe, perfect for studying or reading while drinking a beverage. I especially like that it's a local women-owned business and they offer a good selection of drinks. They advertised boba in their front window and that's exactly what I wanted, plus there aren't many boba places in downtown. The person at the register was very helpful and answered my questions about whether I could get the taro boba smoothie as non-dairy. The answer is yes - made with almond milk and it was delicious. Very smooth and well blended with just the right amount of boba. While it was on the pricier side I didn't mind because it was so good. I also feel they take pride in making their drinks, noted by how they looked when they came out and the time they spent making it. I'll definitely be back and will probably hang out here and enjoy the ambiance. read more

If I lived in San Diego, I would probably spend a lot of time here! I really loved the vibe, woman, owned, dog-friendly, and tons of plants everywhere! Plus they had early 2000s throwbacks, like Hannah Montana and the Jonas Brothers. What is there not to love about that? The drinks were also super tasty, and reasonably priced. Plenty of seating, and tons of windows for natural sunlight. Service was super nice. read more

Came from the airport for a light breakfast! Construction made me drive around in circles so don't get discouraged if you're coming from out of town. Had 2 breakfast sammies, a large dirty chair, and a medium vanilla latte for ~$35 pre-tip. Food was good but eggs were a little hard, could use a little more salt. Drinks were pretty good and loved the lighting and ambiance. If I lived nearby, it would totally be a cute place to work on the afternoon. Nice spot here in the Cortez Hill area for neighbors in the area, passerby, and visitors from anywhere. Staff recognize me and my partner and always make us feel welcome. I usually have a baked good--their paradise bar is my fav, but the honey bran muffin and vegan zucchini bread are also my go-tos--with one of their Signature decaf espresso drinks. I get a new drink nearly every time but find myself going for their honey lavender latte, cafe con miel, or whatever their seasonal special is. Personally haven't tried their boba drinks, but that's an option here for those who want it. My partner usually orders their breakfast bagels or sandwiches and / or protein smoothie and I've always heard praise from him regarding those. I've done remote work from here many times. Might not be best if you have a meeting planned in the workday, but if no talking is required then you'll be in a good spot. Plenty of seating available, nice lighting because of the large windows, and the plants inside are a very nice touch. There are outlets here, but they're not in all areas of the interior. Setting / Environment: not the best spot to go for studying. can be loud outside, and i wouldn't advise sitting by the door, the breeze can bring unpleasant smells. place could use air purifiers and A/C as the inside can feel a bit too warm if you've been outside. at least in the morning time when it's a little chilly. Service: was pretty okay. Wasn't mean but wouldn't say they were sunny either. Mornings catch up so I wouldn't necessarily blame them. Food/ Drinks: didn't they the food, not necessarily a fan as food at cafes are usually overpriced. I got a regular milk tea w/ boba, came with too much ice and couldn't get to the tapioca pearls. If you're in downtown San Diego looking for a great place to relax and recharge then I highly recommend Mio Tuo. It's a cozy coffee shop that always clean and welcoming. The staff and owner are always friendly, helpful and eager to please you. I love that it's a woman owned business and dog friendly. Not only is the coffee and tea awesome they offer boba drinks, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, bagels and pastries. Having vegan and gluten free pastry options is an added plus. A bit underwhelming. I expected a bit more after reading the reviews online. I got a matcha latte and a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese. The matcha latte lacked depth and was bland. This cafe was walking distance to our hotel, WorldMark. It is super cute inside, they have a great menu with a variety of great options for everyone the breakfast sandwiches were delicious! I tried the Loop which was a pesto cream cheese bagel with tomato's I've never had anything like it! The best part was my iced honey lavender latte. It was soooooo good!!! Most lavender flavors are a little overpowering but this one is so smooth and subtle. Even my husband really liked it and he HATES lavender lol. It almost tastes like a cereal milk latte. Great to find a place that sells bagel sandwiches, nice and toasty and very affordable! It's almost like a hidden gem. I tried other local popular bagel places and they are always sold out before its' even 11AM. This place has sandwiches in croissant or bagels and they were not sold out before 11AM. However, that doesn't mean it's a bad thing! I ordered an everything bagel with two eggs, pork patty and cheddar cheese and it came out piping hot with my cheese melted just the way I like it. More importantly it was under $9 including tips! I've had similar sandwiches at Spill the Beans and it was easily over $15! It was clean and spacious inside, with a variety of seatings. DISGUSTING drinks and even more DISGUSTING service!!! I went today and paid over $30 for 3 different drinks and when they gave me the drinks I tried the one for myself and it tasted off like rotten eggs and I asked if they had added any eggs they said no and then I said well it tastes really off for what it is then I politely asked for them to exchange for one of the other drinks that tasted a little less shitty to that they said let me talk to my manager if they can do that they come back with "we can't do that if you want another one we can ring you up for it" This business is happy to take your money in exchange for a disgusting product and won't replace it for something else that is still disgusting but a little more tolerable. Absolutely don't waste your money there are way way better drinks around this city walking distance away read more

I appreciated the ambiance: well-lit from long windows, the presence of plants (real and fake, the real ones enhancing the air quality), most of the tables and seats arranged for an introvert's haven. Muted interiors reminiscent of familiar places from childhood and youth days. They also had cute treats for dogs, one of which they offered my service dog as a complementary welcome(?). They have flavored iced coffee drinks, none of them really stood out. I don't remember the names of the few caffeinated drinks I ordered. Got the strawberry matcha latte with boba. I would give it a 7/10. The matcha flavor itself was nice and strong which I always have an issue at other places where you can only taste the milk, however, I was a little disappointed to find the strawberry layer was only made of syrup and not of real strawberries so it made it super sweet even after stirring. The boba was not bad, chewy, but a little over cooked. Update: tried a dirty Thaiger latte and was disappointed cause yet again found that it was made from syrup that was not stirred at the bottom of the drink. read more

I love how cute this coffee shop is and pretty much everything on the menu but my only complain is their hours of operations. They are not open early enough for me to go in to grab a coffee and late enough for me to get an evening boba. They also close at 2:10pm which is the most random hour I've ever seen. read more

Ordered- Non fat cappuccino with an extra shot - they were out of non fat milk, not a biggie and offered a whole host of other alternatives such as almond milk etc. But bottom line was good and tasty A Protein Smoothie - My colleague enjoyed it a lot. Service was great, coffee came out quick and everything about ample seating is correct. However this is NOT a good place to come work/study because you are not allowed to plug in your device to any outlets. They've taped them over and it says DO NOT USE. So maybe this is just an eating/drinking cafe as opposed to a work/study cafe. Such a shame because the plants create a good ambiance and it is pretty quiet read more
