Meara, a 1 year old black cat was on the website and I was drawn to her so I went to meet her in person. It was Saturday and it was busy! Sandy was the only one working with cat adoptions that day and she was running! To be clear there were a ton of staff and volunteers, it was just busy. Sandy was friendly about the wait even as some other lady was being hella rude to her, mean people suck. Moving on. I filled out the visitor paperwork and liability release to meet her and looked at other animals while I waited. So many animals need forever homes! All different kinds of dogs and cats and some other animals too! Room after room of dogs, it's not time for 1 more dog at my house just yet but when it is, this is where I will be watching for her. When Cindy got to me she was so sweet and cared so much for all the cats. She knew specifics about Meara, she had obviously spent time with her. I filled out her paperwork and 25$ and an hour and a half later we were on our way home. The animals here have been seen by the vet, have their shots, have been neutered/spayed and have been chipped. If you are considering getting a new pet, or fostering one definitely look here first. I feel like it's the way to go for sure.

Nicole spent several hours on the phone with me helping me understand the situation I was in and what steps I could take next. She gave me a lot of emotional support during an extremely stressful situation and helped me understand that I wasn't alone or responsible for how everything had been handled. Nicole was honest, compassionate, and genuinely concerned about both the dog and me. She didn't have to spend so much time helping me, but she did because she genuinely cares about animals and the people trying to help them. She has also continued advocating for accountability among specific CCAS networkers involved in pulling euthanasia listed dogs without sustainable plans, which can put dogs and the community at risk and leave fosters like myself in difficult situations. I really appreciate everything Nicole did for me. Based on my experience, I would absolutely recommend EBARR to anyone looking to adopt or foster a dog. They genuinely care about the animals in their care and are a rescue that operates with a lot of integrity.

They blame shifted their medically ignorant and neglectful malpractices onto me, the pet owner, and then just said, "sorry that happened to your cat"... Meanwhile, my cat is having grand mal cluster seizures 1.5 days after her annual visit for literally this exact issue, because they didn't give my cat the medication I dropped her off with that they prescribed her after diagnosing her with epilepsy the prior year! They said I misinformed the tech.... I'm sorry, what?! What was the misunderstanding? I handed her my cat and the medication and said she didn't get her dose this morning because no one instructed me to give it to her or not before her procedures. The girl said she would "definitely let the Dr. know" - verbatim. So all I get is a, "sorry that happened to your cat" - verbatim in a phone call and an email from one of the Drs. Oh, btw, I also got understandably frustrated with the Dr on the phone for the lack of real empathy and genuine remorse. The apology was not an apology, and she just kept asking me what I wanted as a solution. I said for you and your practice to take responsibility and figure out a way to gain my trust back! It was not a hard request, but she eventually hung up on me and then the next day, like a coward, she emailed me that they would no longer see me or my cat as a client.... BECAUSE I CALLED YOU OUT ON YOUR MALPRACTICE AND LACK OF REMORSE AND EFFORT IN FINDING A SOLUTION THAT SAVED A CLIENT'S TRUST IN YOUR CLINIC?! This low life actually had the balls to tell me that there was supposed to have been an intake form that they should have had me fill out. So.... again, I got dropped as a client for YOUR BAD PRACTICES?! So much more happened, it is overwhelming. I would never trust my pets here again. Very disturbing. Also, the bad comments I have read here are VERY true. I wouldn't believe a single positive review here, I am astonished they have any. They seem like fake reviews honestly. They claim that the prices aren't high - false. The staff is friendly - false AF. The treatment of the pets is great - SO FALSE. One more thing, I called out one of the Drs for being drugged up or drunk during my first ever visit there! She was so jumpy when my cat hissed a couple times (given animals can sense evil and Muller Vet, who I took her to once I got dropped, she was purring for and rubbing on the Dr who just understands that you treat pets with care) and I had to even navigate every step of the damn appointment. Her speech was slurred, her eyes were lazy, she couldn't tell me what any next step was... I called that out, have the emails, and just more of the same acknowledging BS. HOW IS THIS A SPECIALTY CLINIC?! This is the email I received regarding not giving my cat the medication. Note that I had called them to ask about if she did get her medication and they put my on hold for over 15 minutes just to determine that it was not in her notes, which shows me they do not complete their appointments thoroughly with documentation. The follow up call was 1 day later and she doesn't have seizures usually until 1.5 days after her missed dose. I also stated she had 3 seizures: "Good morning, I hope this note finds you and Emmy well. Maggie let me know you had some concerns around Emmy's phenobarbital administration while she was here for her exam last week. I was sorry to hear that she had a seizure the following day although I was a bit surprised since it wasn't reported to the technician who called to check on her at noon the following day. I have reviewed our records and chatted with the technician assistant who spoke with you at check in and assisted with the procedure. I can confirm that Emmy did not receive a dose of phenobarbital while she was here. I know dropping off your kitty can be busy and stressful and I did not see in your written notes and the technician assistant did not clearly hear you asking us to administer the medication while she was here so she did not receive it. Looking back, I do not think we would have been successful at administering any oral medication to her in the clinic due to her high level of anxiety. Unfortunately, she becomes very stressed here, which is why we need to sedate her to examine her. I hope this provides some clarification for you. It's too bad because I would give this place 5 stars if it weren't for this person who handles so many of the clinics phone calls and the checking in/out of cat moms and dads. Before I continue I definitely want to say that Dr. Kuperman is a wonderful vet and she has been absolutely amazing taking care of all of my babies since day one. So this review is honestly to get managements attention to the issue I have. The receptionist with green hair.. I'm unsure if they speak to clientele in a patronizing tone purposefully or is unaware of it, either way, I highly recommend management speak to them about this as it is incredibly unprofessional, and honestly unsettling because it is being done to clientele unprovoked. Secondly, this receptionist quite literally never problem solves. If I call on the phone I'm frequently met with cold responses and "I don't know, I'll leave a message and someone will get back to you in a day or two" (with nobody ever calling back), and if I'm in person they don't ask others around them to help find a solution it's just "I don't know, bye" type attitude which I don't find appropriate when it comes to medications and simple questions that could be figured out if she took the time to ask more questions or cared to resource out for some type of solution. Not to mention all of this non-problem solving happening while they talk to you with obvious annoyance in their tone to top it off. With this receptionist, I'm often told there isn't a solution or answer to my question, immediately shut down... but when I have to go out of my way to ask for another person to help me, the new person is able to find the answer or solution quite easily! And with a much friendly and welcoming presence. Overall, my experience with this individual has really made coming here unpleasant. I get that people have tough days and I get working in a vet clinic can be difficult, but having this be an ongoing issue with the same person is concerning. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has experienced this. Please, management, speak with your employee about this behavior so that it can be remedied properly.

Our 3.5-year-old Frenchie jumped off our bed and ruptured a disc. Griffin couldn't walk or stand…read moreup on his own. His legs were becoming more stiff as the hours went on. The local vet in Napa said we needed a neurologist and sent us for emergency care at SAGE in Redwood City. They told us that he was becoming paralyzed and that we needed to get him an MRI ($3000) and an aggressive back surgery that was only an 80% chance he recovers from this. That would cost us approx $18,000 dollars. Not to mention the aftercare costs. If we couldn't do that, then we should euthanize him humanely there that day. We cried it out and begged for an alternative so they sent us home with a gloomy diagnosis that the steroids will probably not help and to have him put down if he become fully paralyzed and struggled with his breathing. We were trying to figure out what else could be done and our family friend messaged us with Linda from Bay area Animal rescue crews information. Linda from BAY AREA ANIMAL RESCUE CREW called us and immediately suggested we take Griffin to Concord, Alpine Vet Hospital. That night we showed up to the Clinic at 6pm (they have great hours for working families too! )Linda Greeted us and took us in to meet Dr Freeman who in detail explained this Hib Laser that could help Griffin to walk again for hundreds of dollars not thousands!!!! He also did a few tests in front of us to test Griffin's reflexes. And he quickly was able to explain Parysis vs Paralysed. Griffin had a shot. And the Vet scheduled 7 visits for this HIb laser in a matter of 2 weeks. After the first treatment, it was clear we had some results. Griffin who was not lifting his head on his own, left the clinic with his head up! Linda called us that night for after care and to make sure we were doing everything in our power to give him the best chance. She double-checked our meds. She advised on what food we should be feeding him. (he wasn't eating at the time) her suggestions and help did not go in vain. I truly believe she is a godsend for our Griffin and for us. We kept him on the Steriods and he's been on some anti-inflammatories and pain meds for the last 27 days. I am happy to report Griffin is 90% better! He still doesn't take the stairs or do any jumping (we will be limiting that for a long time ) But he is walking with the occasional stumble. I feel like Linda and the Rescue crew and Dr Virk and Dr Freeman and the rest of the staff at Alpine are a Group of people who deserve this praise. And a BIG HUGE THANK YOU! OUR family is healed and this help means more to us than I can put in this review! They were kind to us and helped us as if it was their dog suffering! I will be singing your praise for years to come. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts !

New puppy came with shots, spaying and micro chipping for the price that we paid. We were unfortunately unable to keep they dog so I paid them to care for the dog until she found a new home.
