I took Lulu home and I was super excited. She was so sweet and full of energy and did not want to leave my sight. She had separation anxiety & leash aggression that I got very overwhelmed. I was so overwhelmed that I called MaryAnn crying asking if I can give her back because I felt I couldn't give Lulu what she wanted me too. She was so understanding and she advised me to give Lulu another chance and this was all so new to Lulu and she was just as scared as I was. Nicole spent several hours on the phone with me helping me understand the situation I was in and what steps I could take next. She gave me a lot of emotional support during an extremely stressful situation and helped me understand that I wasn't alone or responsible for how everything had been handled. Nicole was honest, compassionate, and genuinely concerned about both the dog and me. She didn't have to spend so much time helping me, but she did because she genuinely cares about animals and the people trying to help them. She has also continued advocating for accountability among specific CCAS networkers involved in pulling euthanasia listed dogs without sustainable plans, which can put dogs and the community at risk and leave fosters like myself in difficult situations. I really appreciate everything Nicole did for me. Based on my experience, I would absolutely recommend EBARR to anyone looking to adopt or foster a dog. After about six months, Cookie unfortunately became aggressive toward our first fur baby. They welcomed Cookie back without judgment and made a very difficult decision a little easier for us. I…read moreexpressed interest and then changed my mind because I had just put my cat down I was going through a range of emotions. But I could not stop thinking about this cat so I made arrangements to pick him up on a Monday on my return from San Jose to Folsom. The foster house (Risha / Larissa) met me. I was so disgusted by this house that I almost changed my mind. The outside was so dirty and had six or eight feral cats on her porch and in her driveway. They were cat crates and other things strewn all over the place. The outside reeked of cat urine. I was afraid to go inside but stepped in to pet the cat that I was interested in. The house was so filthy, cluttered, and in total disarray, and it also reeks of urine. At this point I decided to get the cat simply to get him out of that situation if nothing else. She did not have any of his paperwork ready, although he was supposedly at an adoption event the day before so you would think that it should be handy. She showed me quickly on her phone but never sent me any of the documentation for this cat, his vaccines, his microchip, or neutering. She gave him a shot of something - who knows what - in the driveway which was appalling. She is not a vet or a vet tech, simply volunteers at a shelter. I don't think she has any other qualifications to be giving vaccines let alone doing it and unsanitary conditions outside. Once I got this cat home I realized he is covered in fleas. I rushed out to buy flea bath and flea protection and have been trying to eradicate them from my home and car for the last 5 days. I demanded a full refund from this agency not only for the adoption but for the flea treatment. This should have been done before he ever left her possession. He also should've had a nail trim but he didn't. The cat also smelled like urine like her disgusting house. I was surprised that they refunded all of my money for the adoption and the flea protection. I am grateful for that because this cat needs to be seen at the vet and make sure he is healthy has been neutered and update his shots because I have no idea what they actually gave him. They tried to make me sign a ridiculous contract six days later after demanding his paperwork. The contract tries to hold the adoptee much more accountable for the health and wellness of a pet that they don't uphold themselves. It also says that if you cannot keep the cat that you need to give it back to them. Over my dead body would I ever give this cat back to that woman. She should not be allowed to have pets. She also should not be allowed to have children but she does! I feel so bad for those kids as well as the pets. East of Eden should be much more responsible with who they associate with and inspect the homes and conditions of their fosters that they are advertising. This situation was infuriating. In the end I have what appears to be a very happy and healthy cat and I am thankful for that and I am sure he is thankful to be out of that situation. Stay away from this agency!

I got a lot of run around and they were pretty short with me when I would talk to them on the phone. I even found myself apologizing to one of the ladies because she made me feel like I was wasting her time as she was making a Starbucks order and speaking to me at the same time. A lady text me in regards to the kittens but she eventually stopped messaging back. we didn't end up getting any kittens which we were really hoping for. they definitely need more organization and communication between staff members. you'd think they would want the kittens to go to good homes quickly but this was not the case with east of Eden.

This breeder sold me a puppy that died 10 days after I got her from a what her vet said was a…read morecongenital health abnormality. There were issues with her right from the start. She wouldn't eat, was lethargic, was throwing up. She told me the leave food out for her and she was probably sad from leaving her brother. About 30 hours after I got her I had to rush her to the emergency vet (at 1am) because she became completely unresponsive. They saved her but said she was close to death. I told her about what happened and I feel like she was trying to blame me and that it was caused by something I did. The next week was more vet visits to try to figure out what was wrong with her. I only had her for 10 days I believe, but I really loved her and we were bonded. I told Mariya (the breeder aka Missy) the day before she died that there was something really wrong with her. I was told there was nothing she could do but pray for her. And then I was seemingly blocked and ignored!! Throughout the whole thing I felt alone in the situation. I took her to the vet again after that convo on the evening of the November 2nd and the vet told me to bring her back the next day to be hospitalized for the whole day. My heart was broken into pieces when I woke on nov 3, 2024 to find my little friend had passed away. The vet came to the official conclusion that she had a congenital abnormality that caused her to pass away. I spent thousands trying to save her. It was extremely traumatic to watch her despite my best efforts to save her, decline and then die. I am beyond crushed. A week later I'm still crying. In my opinion Mariya didn't seem to care about the puppy. But I really did. I have paraphrased what happened and will write a full review once I can bring myself to do so. I have retained an attorney and I am taking legal action. I would recommend caution when dealing with royal yorkies.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Darby Park Doodles and Malinda. We have adopted three…read moredoodles from her over the years, and each one has been absolutely amazing. Our first adoption was 14.5 years ago; and from the very beginning it was clear that Malinda takes her breeding program and the care of her dogs very seriously. All three of our dogs have been patient, loving, intelligent, easy to train, fun and full of personality. They are incredibly loyal and truly became beloved members of our family. Two of our dogs were even trained as therapy dogs, and they have done a wonderful job in that role. One of them graduated at the top of her class, which speaks to the temperament and intelligence of the dogs Malinda raises. Malinda clearly has very high standards for her breeding program, her litters, and her guardian homes, and it shows in the quality, health, and temperament of the puppies she produces. We absolutely adore our dogs, and because of our consistently positive experiences, Darby Park Doodles is always our first choice when we think about welcoming another dog into our home. If you are looking for a loving, well-bred doodle with a wonderful temperament, we highly recommend Malinda and Darby Park Doodles.
