"It is fun to have fun but you have to know how." The Cat in the Hat I am a huge Cat in the Hat fan although I always wonder why their mother never taught them about stranger danger when I read the book with the kids at school. Good thing they had that fish babysitter. My appreciation for the book was really sharpened during the few months I had a student read it to me everyday because it was the only thing that made him sit still for more than 30 seconds. Scores of children grew up learning to read on the Cat and the Hat. If you haven't seen it since you were a kid it is actually pretty long. The ride opened with the park on May 28, 1999 as the flagship attraction of Seuss Landing. It is best for small children or anyone who has never been on it but for me however it is more of a place to sit back and relax for a few minutes. We were able to walk on which is the only reason we rode. The cars and loading area were looking a little dingy. The indoor ride takes you through the story with audio, video, and animatronics. The Cat in the Hat makes a mess, the fish scolds, Thing One and Thing Two clean it up just in time for mom to come home and you exit out to the gift shop. It was a good place to rest before heading off to one of the more exciting attractions.

The ride will spin a bit

Fun for all ages and the theme is thorough throughout the outside, inside, and ride. It's true to the book and the detail is fun. Only disappointment is that the Cat's voice is not the one from.the live action movie so it's not as nostalgic as it could be, but that was likely too expensive. The three of us had no issue sitting in the same cart together.

This is a really enjoyable ride that my family and I went to while we were at universal studios. I enjoyed going through the whole cat in the hat book and having things come out at you and tells the story of the whole book. We enjoyed it and it was a lot of fun.

The Cat In the Hat is a storybook ride. If you have been to Disney, this is exactly like a Fantasyland ride. Takes you through The Cat In the Hat book. With all its flashy colors and rhymes. The line looked longer then it actually look. It was only a 15 minute wait, start to finish. The line space is a bit tight though. Kiddos enjoyed seeing a book I read to them come to life. Located in Seuss Landing at Island of Adventure, not Universal.

The Cat In The Hat is a ride at Universal Islands of Adventure. If you're a fan of the Dr.Seuss books, you have to ride The Cat In the Hat! It's a slow, dark ride, geared towards children. In the beginning of the morning, there was pretty much no wait time. Towards the evening hours, there also was a little to no wait time as well. During the day however, wait times can get to approximately 20 minutes, summertime. Inside the queue, it's air conditioned and "Cat In the Hat" themed. If you've gone to Disney World or Disneyland, this ride is comparison to Winnie The Pooh, or Snow White at Disneyland. The ride takes you through The Cat In the Hat story. The cat goes through the house and you get to see memorable characters from the story such as Thing 1 and Thing 2. There is several twists and turns throughout the ride. My family and I enjoyed the ride! It's a nice break from standing in waiting queues for certain rides like the Harry Potter!

What a fun but very dated ride. It desperately needs an overhaul both inside and out. Other than updates, this ride continues to be one of my favorites and I have not ridden it in years until a recent trip here. The queue is pretty long and winding, helping with crowds when it's busy. During the trip though, it was a literal walk on! Upon getting to the front of the line, you use the sanitizer they pump into your hand and are placed in your own vehicle to promote distancing during these times. The ride itself is shockingly long and very twisty and turny so be careful if you have any neck or back problems. The animatronics definitely need to be replaced and updated due to how old they are. Quite a few were not working and a lot of the paint was chipping in areas of the ride but overall it is still a great ride with a cute story. I definitely recommend this ride but not if the wait is longer than 30 minutes for sure.

Considering this is meant for children, this was a fun, creative, and story-telling ride that is very family friendly. It tells the story of The Cat in the Hat, just like the movie - with the talking fish, thing 1 and thing 2, etc. There are some turns, so if you have vertigo or motion sickness, you may feel queasy on this one; but I didn't find it horrible. Going 5 mph on this ride, you can sit back and enjoy your story. Also, there was no wait (6 PM on a Saturday is a win for no wait!)

I was recently down in Orlando and split my time between two groups of friends. I had a solo day between when one group left and the next arrived, so I decided to hit up Universal alone! Ain't no shame in my game! And during that solo time, I rode The Cat in the Hat. This ride is super cute with classic Dr. Seuss rhymes from The Cat in the Hat story complete with Thing 1 and Thing 2. It's a classic dark ride taking you through scene after scene of fun. It could use a bit of updating though - I saw some things that needed fresh paint and just general cleaning up. I'm sure kids will think it's cute though and when other rides had waits up to 2 hours, I walked right onto this kiddie ride and there was no one else even riding around me. When I finished the ride....Riding alone in my little car....the worker said, "Good for you." Maybe there's a little shame in my game.

I had heard from locals that it's a great local option over the big theme parks. Fun Spot was pretty great, for what it was. Free parking, free admission if you don't plan on riding rides, also a discounted adult pass if you only are going on rides with your kid who is too young to ride alone. The whole place was small, maybe the area of a handful of city blocks. And on the Sunday afternoon when we went, the place was quiet enough that we never waited more than a few minutes to get onto a ride. As we were only there for a couple hours, the cashier recommended the 4 ride pass for my kids, and the companion pass for me. But if one were to spend more hours there, buying the day pass online for $59.95 is quite a bargain. Not all rides were open, but the "big" rides that most kids want (the roller coasters and the go carts) were open. My daughter, who is not a big roller coaster fan, had a harder time finding kiddie rides that she actually wanted to go on, and she watched the go carts and didn't even want to try those with me driving. However, the place was small enough that I felt fine leaving my 10 year old son to go on rides by himself while I went on the Ferris wheel or the merry go round with my 8 year old. There are a bunch of food options available throughout the park. They were definitely more affordable than Disney prices! Most of the places offered souvenir cups with discounted refills, but there were also water stations set up throughout with free cups. I'd definitely come back if I had a few hours to burn and the kids didn't want to go swimming. Hopefully at some point, my daughter will change her mind about roller coasters, though!

The Knight Bus was fun enough for both my sister and I to get pictures by it with its friendly steward and his appropriate accent. I missed the low key entrance on our first go round. As I said I watched the movies in a cloud of smoke and didn't realize it was this secret fandom entrance/exit but the throngs passing through tipped us off. The greater density with everything packed so tightly together and its separation from the other themed areas of Universal Studios Florida makes this Potter themed area more impressive than its counterpart over at Islands of Adventure- even without a magnificent castle. The alleys, the shops, the hand painted signage, the dragon perched high shooting out that massive flame... I can only imagine how hard this hits if you're a Potter fanatic. And though Escape from Gringotts was pretty weak sauce in my estimation the queue and the theming before the ride experience was top notch. They really broke the bank on this, as with the great train ride in. Maybe if I ever go back I'll watch a Potter movie or two sober.
