Fabulous ride. Had to be our favorite in the island of berk. From the animatronics to the part we went over the bright blue water.

The Baseline: For a theme park attraction, a quality experiences must be provided, the attraction must be fun and engaging, an immersive environment must be established, the queue line must be themed, and safety must be a top priority. Attraction: This is a roller coaster that takes you through the realm of How to Train Your Dragon franchise. It is a fun themed coaster with a bit of story along with it. I enjoyed the coaster and I did not feel sick after riding it which can happen on a few of the coasters out there. Smooth track with great transitions through the ups and downs and overs of the coaster. Like most Epic universe attractions this is a better ride in the evening as the lighting effects really pop with less light. This is a definite must ride in the park. Queue: This has a pretty easy wait for a line queue and it is a more popular attraction in the Isle of Berk portion of the park. A few photo ops as you wait and it is shaded so bonus. The locker system is very easy here and even though there is not a single rider line active when we came they have a set up for it.

Hiccup's Wing Gliders is now one of my favorite rides of all the Universal rides! It's located in Epic Universe's How to Train Your Dragon--Isle of Berk. This is perfect for those who enjoy a fun thrill ride that won't give you a migraine after lol. Great for all ages & honestly I can see this being a wonderful beginner coaster! The wait was roughly 35 min, not too bad. This ride goes up to 50 ft, & ~45 mph speed. Definitely ended up being more fun than I expected. If it wasn't absolutely freezing the day we rode this, I would've gone on it again! In my opinion, one of the best rides at Epic Universe! (Other than Stardust Racers hehe)

Even WITH the brief downtime during our "flight" I really enjoyed this ride. Dips and turns weren't too much for my neck or stomach.

We really enjoyed this one - again, could be longer lines (it was 65 min and went up to 90min while we were waiting in line), reasonably good cover, though, through the rope course though less to see/do in the wait than at Harry Potter -- there are lockers (can't have anything loose/bags/spare) so make sure it fits in a small (free) or large (charge) bin - one side for drop off, other side to pick up so that helped with queuing. The device is image recognition, and if you're in sunny spot, it may not see your face/ticket right, so there is a helper there at least. The ride itself is a coaster, minimum 40in to ride. The tail end of the queue has you inside the wooden structure of which it replicates a building of Berk. The painted wooden dragon cars are cute, and tight, though, so best fit hopefully without cramming in the knees much. It dips, launches a few times and goes over the water a bit, too - simulates following Toothless along a flight path, nothing too crazy or shaky, so it's smooth and relatively less stressful to one's heart. A lot of kids on the ride. The backward is a very short backward (to help pre-launch you) in a section, so it's not as stressful as some backward rides. I do wish they had gone over more water and through different areas all around Berk but for what it was, nice little coaster ride.

This is one of my favorite roller coasters for all Universal Theme parks. Hiccups Wing Gliders is a family thrill coaster located in the Isle of Berk land of Epic Universe at Universal Orlando Florida. It's themed from the How To Train Your Dragon Movies! You board Hiccup's latest wing equipped contraction to take flight around the perimeter of the land. It's to simulate dragon riding alongside Toothless! The coaster does reach speeds up to 45 mph! It features a few dips, several launches, and even a water skimming track section! The experience begins at Hiccup's workshop entrance where you traverse through a themed queue that sets the scene with blueprints, wings in a various state of construction, diagrams of dragons, and references to the workshops of Berk. I ended up going on Standby since there wasn't a single rider line for this ride and it took approximately 50 minutes to get to the boarding. It was one of the longer wait times at Epic Universe when I visited on a Sunday during October. There is lockers for your items. Luckily, I was able to take my small bag on the ride though! Once you board the ride, you swoop around Isle of Berk, dipping near the water, turning, soaring under bridges and near the scenery. One of the sections, you even pass by dragon eggs. This roller coaster is one of the smoothest roller coaster rides I've ever been on. It's so much fun! With the queue being outside though, it can get very warm, especially during the summer months. There is some shading while you're waiting though. I'd recommend trying to ride this rollercoaster during the morning or later in the evening when it's slightly cooler out.

I had heard from locals that it's a great local option over the big theme parks. Fun Spot was pretty great, for what it was. Free parking, free admission if you don't plan on riding rides, also a discounted adult pass if you only are going on rides with your kid who is too young to ride alone. The whole place was small, maybe the area of a handful of city blocks. And on the Sunday afternoon when we went, the place was quiet enough that we never waited more than a few minutes to get onto a ride. As we were only there for a couple hours, the cashier recommended the 4 ride pass for my kids, and the companion pass for me. But if one were to spend more hours there, buying the day pass online for $59.95 is quite a bargain. Not all rides were open, but the "big" rides that most kids want (the roller coasters and the go carts) were open. My daughter, who is not a big roller coaster fan, had a harder time finding kiddie rides that she actually wanted to go on, and she watched the go carts and didn't even want to try those with me driving. However, the place was small enough that I felt fine leaving my 10 year old son to go on rides by himself while I went on the Ferris wheel or the merry go round with my 8 year old. There are a bunch of food options available throughout the park. They were definitely more affordable than Disney prices! Most of the places offered souvenir cups with discounted refills, but there were also water stations set up throughout with free cups. I'd definitely come back if I had a few hours to burn and the kids didn't want to go swimming. Hopefully at some point, my daughter will change her mind about roller coasters, though!

I walked through the gates and found the park blending immersive world building with high quality rides in a way that pulled me in from the start. The scale of it means there is enough to fill multiple days without feeling like I am stretching for content. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, split across Diagon Alley here and Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, is the crown jewel of the Universal experience and worth the trip on its own. Diagon Alley in particular is remarkably well executed in terms of atmosphere and detail. The interactive wand experiences scattered throughout the area added a layer that kept me engaged beyond just the rides. The Hogwarts Express connecting the two parks is a genuinely impressive piece of park engineering and worth riding in both directions. The butterbeer ice cream is the food item to seek out while in that section of the park. Beyond Harry Potter, the ride lineup is strong across the board. I enjoyed Revenge of the Mummy, which holds up as a classic. The Transformers and Fast and Furious rides deliver solid 4D experiences, and VelociCoaster over at Islands of Adventure is one of the best roller coasters in Florida if you have the stomach for it. The 4D motion rides are worth approaching with caution if you are prone to motion sickness, as they are more intense than they look. Wait times are the main variable that determines how much I got through in a day. Weekday mornings are the sweet spot for shorter lines and a quieter park overall. The Express Pass is expensive but significantly changes the experience if your budget allows for it. I arrived at rope drop and moved efficiently through the headliner attractions in the first two hours, which set the tone for the rest of the day. For a high quality, immersive theme park experience, Universal Studios Florida delivers.

The Knight Bus was fun enough for both my sister and I to get pictures by it with its friendly steward and his appropriate accent. I missed the low key entrance on our first go round. As I said I watched the movies in a cloud of smoke and didn't realize it was this secret fandom entrance/exit but the throngs passing through tipped us off. The greater density with everything packed so tightly together and its separation from the other themed areas of Universal Studios Florida makes this Potter themed area more impressive than its counterpart over at Islands of Adventure- even without a magnificent castle. The alleys, the shops, the hand painted signage, the dragon perched high shooting out that massive flame... I can only imagine how hard this hits if you're a Potter fanatic. And though Escape from Gringotts was pretty weak sauce in my estimation the queue and the theming before the ride experience was top notch. They really broke the bank on this, as with the great train ride in. Maybe if I ever go back I'll watch a Potter movie or two sober.

The colors, sounds, and scale of everything around me hit immediately in a way that was hard to prepare for even though I knew what to expect. Donkey Kong Mine Cart Madness is the ride to prioritize and the one that generates the most excitement in the land. I arrived at park open and went straight here, which was the right strategy as the wait times built quickly. Mario Kart is the other major attraction and delivers on the concept, with the Power Up Band integration adding a competitive layer that makes it more than just a passive ride experience. The Power Up Band is worth purchasing before entering the park if I want the full experience. It unlocks interactive elements and mini games scattered throughout the land that let me collect coins, hit question blocks, and track my score on the app. Without it I could still enjoy the rides and the theming, but a meaningful portion of what makes the land special is tied to having one. At around fifty dollars it is an added cost on top of an already expensive day, but for a Nintendo fan it justifies itself quickly. Weekday visits made a noticeable difference in wait times and gave me more room to engage with the interactive elements without feeling rushed. The land rewards people who slow down and explore rather than just moving through it as efficiently as possible, and there is enough packed into the space that I could spend a solid chunk of the day here without feeling like I had exhausted it.

It offers a few attractions and it is a huge commitment to stand in line for a short thrill. We did ride Bowser's ride. It allowed for single riders. It delays regularly though - in our case a cart had to be removed and replaced on the track. It involves a lot of technology the way the game is designed. Our family of 4 did not understand the game at all and how we even gathered points. Thankfully we didn't stand in line as long and wouldn't recommend anyone else does. Sadly the other rides were not part of our day due to the lengthy wait times and in the case of Donkey Kong, so backed up that the single rider line was closed. We witnessed a lot of happy kids running around and tapping question marked boxes. Even for my older teen / adult children they stood in the space and smiled while they took it in. It was the first place they wanted to see upon our arrival.
