I had the shrimp and whitefish fried combo. The whitefish was super good and way better than the fried catfish. I also liked the fries, they were really crispy and I liked the seasoning on them. The margarita was good but it had little to no alcohol, it was a bit too sweet as well. My wife had the grilled whitefish and it was bland, it needed way more seasoning. Some small part was also undercooked so she didn't finish it all. I liked the hush puppies but the wife didn't. The atmosphere inside was nice and quiet but the floor was really sticky. We have been eating here since the place opened and I can say that the quality of the food is totally inconsistent. Tonight was our last time. One of our orders sat in the window from the time we were seated and was then served along with a freshly prepared order. We sent it back and it was replaced with a basket of fish that was mushy and falling apart. We sent it back, they remade it, but the replacement basket was overcooked and mushy too. Excellent fried fish! Probably the best I have ever had. I only gave it 4 stars due to the hushpuppies. Honestly, they were disappointing. They were too chewy/tough, maybe it was an off day for them. The fries are much like those at Wingstop, but less seasoning... but still tasty. Now. Let's get back to the fish... easy 5 stars on its own. The medium catch comes with 2 large filets. The breading is light but crispy! The fish was "moist" , sounds kinda weird describing fish as moist, but that is what it was... it was just fantastic. The restaurant was clean, bathroom clean and very friendly staff! I have lived in Burleson for 8 months and this was my first visit here and now kicking myself for not coming sooner... We went back here just a week ago or so ago, everything was back to normal service was top notch food was top notch, they also have a military discount, very fast and friendly customer service with free margaritas and I believe something else I'm not for sure maybe beer, don't quote me on that, I have had the free margaritas and are good. Sometimes parking is a little difficult you may have to park out behind the store which is all concrete anyway because they do have high volume of customers and a Do have great food and service. She explained the food would be brought out, which would include silverware if needed, you get your own drinks and tartar sauce/ketchup/cocktail sauce, and to leave your baskets on the table when you leave. The have cherry Coke, my favorite, available. We ordered the chicken tender and whitefish combo and the shrimp and catfish combo. Both came with fries and hush puppies. The food came out to the table as it was ready. Everything was hot and crispy. The whitefish was very good and I also liked the chicken tenders. The oysters were mid sized to small, so they tended to have too much breading on them. The hush puppies were "crazy good." They make their own tarter sauce here, and it was the perfect fried food accompaniment. Prices are reasonable and portions are filling. If you're ever out his way, you should definitely check them out. They have a good variety of seafood specialties on their menu, which is perfect if you're not feeling like fried food. First timer here. Yum, yum, yum and yum on the fried catfish here! The cornmeal crust on the fish is delicate, light and full of flavor. Not heavy or greasy. The sides are plentiful, but the portions of the fish are small. I ordered the 'regular' fried catfish basket and got one catfish filet. It's a little spendy too - my one filet, side and 2 hush puppies was $9.99. The hush puppies were good but very heavy and a little greasy. I love good hush puppies but these were just ok. I got cheese grits for my side and the flavor was good, but the grits were a little mushy for my taste. I WILL be back for the catfish! Best I've had in a long time.
