Horrible drinks and horrible service. Atmosphere was made by the live music and larger patio. It's a shame they don't want to be better.

I've been here 10 times with my parents when I'm in town. I try to be open each time and have never left a bad review for any restaurant but honestly I'm just appalled - the food is a borderline health hazard. Putting my foot down and never coming back. I honestly don't understand how they are still open. The manager reached out to me and was extremely professional. I don't send things back and I tip based on service which was excellent. The problem is the food - it's terrible. I don't understand how people pay for the dishes that come out of that kitchen. What I have been served on multiple occasions is embarrassing and laughable. I think it's time to re-evaluate the kitchen. read more

The Bays Review - (inside - outside bar area next to the main dining). The GOOD: The location and space are excellent. Downtown StreetSide patio dining in front, garage bar area with small stage, back outdoor with corn hole. This place should be packed all weekend. Food is pretty good and cooked in the Cellar kitchen. The BAD: Service, is bad. There are some nice but inexperienced servers, but they are typically under staffed. Drink refill times are very long, order in advance. Bartenders are bad, slow and make terrible drinks. Some staff have "attitudes". You get different answers from staff on the same question. Most tell you reservations aren't taken, some say if you know staff they will hold a table for you. We've seen them hold empty tables while making us wait and at the same time saying we couldn't make a reservation. If you order wine, make sure it's fresh - they often serve old open skunky bottles. The cheapest glass of wine is $12 and it's not as good a the $5 bottle of Aldi Burlwood. A Ridiculous price point for this type of place - this place should be in the $7-8 glass range at the highest. The offer a decent selection of beers on the menu, but good luck with them actually having them in stock or being cold. It's popular on the weekends, but good luck getting a drink from the understaffed, young inexperienced bartenders. They are overwhelmed. I know who the owner is but have never seen her in this place, there is no apparent grown up or manager overseeing this shitshow. Pay in cash. The last two times I went my debit card was hacked immediately after I paid! The UGLY - It could be a really nice place. They created an herb garden out front, but instead of keeping it up it's an eyesore, trailer trash looking set up. Clean it up or get rid of it - seriously!. You often see trash or junk just sitting around. Men's bathroom is worst that when the place was a tire store - a one holer that is always nasty (it makes you wonder what the kitchen looks like). The chairs are metal and hard as hell on your ass - a seat cushion and table cloth would be nice with that $12 glass of wine. Again - no apparent grown up supervision or give a damn anywhere in sight. read more

My husband and I love The Cellar, their food is simple yet inventive (southern with a twist) and very delicious. But last night 2/11/22 we had a very uncomfortable experience. We had reservations so when we got there we were seated immediately at 7:30pm. However 25 mins went by and NO ONE came to our table or even acknowledged our presence or offer water. It's like we were invisible as all of the other tables around us were getting service. I went to the hostess and notified her that nobody had come to our table to greet us or even offer water she apologized and went to talk to the waiting staff then came back to inform us that there was mixup and they were confused with whom was supposed to take care of our table. Still at this point another 10 minutes went by before a waitress came to half fast apologize and take our order. We understand times with Covid are hard to get the best staff but this was unacceptable and not how you want to feel when you go out to dinner. A lot of planning goes into us having a date night because we have young children and it is never easy for everything to line up. I hope this gets better or maybe it was just us. read more

The Cellar is one of the best restaurants that Newnan has to offer, IMHO. I've eaten there several times and I've always been beyond pleased with the food and experience. This past weekend, I had a reservation for a party of 20 (a company dinner), and The Cellar went above and beyond for us. Hayleigh, Nikki and Damon were our servers and they were excellent. Everyone in my party had such a great time and commented that the food was amazing! I fully expected that we'd have a long wait for our food because it was a Friday night, and there was an event downtown, but The Cellar got us in and out. Our next company event will be at The Cellar again! Please keep up the great work! read more

We sat on the patio for dinner which was nice as they had umbrellas as well as some high powered fans to combat the heat as well as bugs. The food was delicious!!! Service was fantastic towards the beginning of our meal, but as more people began to trickle in, it was harder to get ahold of our waiter. We had a group of 12 and had a 6:30 pm reservations. We did not get our meals until 9:10 and when it finally did arrive, it was barely warm and some of our group just thought the meal was not that good at all. The most disturbing thing was the dysfunctional service. They would take half of the groups drink order while the rest of us waited. Then the same thing happened with the apps. In fact, some of the group had already started eating their apps before the waitress even took our order. During this more than 2 hour ordeal, not one staff member apologized for the delay, and only one person came by to ask how we were doing. A very disappointing experience and a bit of an expensive one at that for the value received. I would not go there again. read more

My daughter, a chef in Seattle, gave us a gift certificate to this restaurant and if she recommends something, you can bet it will be top notch, The food was as good as it gets according to my tastes and the service was acceptable. I would recommend Cellar for sure. read more

The Cellar in Newnan is a joke. I'm so disappointed we decided to take my grandmother there for her 81st birthday. The food was meh, the service was interesting, and the place they consider an extension to their fine dining is nothing more than a bar and prices should be adjusted as such. The bathrooms were DISGUSTING. The toilet was clogged and there wasn't even enough water pressure to wash the disgusting off your hands. The drinks that were non-alcoholic were gross. The 7-up was just seltzer and Mountain Dew was given in place of it (to 5 and 6 year old children)and was called the same**they are not** and when it was brought to the attention of the server she argued that it was in fact the same thing. Maybe sending her home with two caffeinated children would have cleared that up for her! I was also brought the wrong beer, which I decided to not correct, and that's on me, it was just another thing to add to the list. But hey, the water was delicious!! It took an hour and a half to get our meals once ordered (I should note out of fairness the appetizers came out quickly and were good. The cheese plate to share leaves a lot to be desired as there were three tiny pieces of cheese, a small bowl with five grapes, a handful of dried cranberries, some candied pecans, and maybe some bread...it was weird and not worth it) After our long wait the food was average. My steak was burnt and the fact that they are charging $32 for their "best" steak is appalling. And I suppose it could never be proven that the kangaroo burger my husband ordered is just their house beef burger at a larger price tag, but they sure do taste identical. The burger came wrong and wasn't even that good of a burger. All of the meat that came out seemed dry and not great. And while the rest of the table didn't seem to have many complaints about their food, there definitely were no rave reviews, sad for what this restaurant is supposed to be considering the price. When we asked for salt and pepper plastic shakers came out; glass was requested and we were told only the other dining room gets those. If that's your rule fine but don't charge the same price for a lesser experience that we never requested. There was a meal comped and some desserts given to "satisfy" the overall upset of the table because of the wait and the service. I know larger parties are difficult and sometimes it can become overwhelming but consider how much you are asking people to pay for the mediocre experience you are providing, I can't imagine anyone being happy with it. The most unbelievable part was how the evening ended. To end the evening with a server saying "Go f*** yourself" to my father (which was completely unwarranted he was already standing outside the restaurant) in front of my five year old daughter, are you kidding me??? Shame on you! I understand you may have felt disrespected but nothing that was said was untrue and was never an attack on you and it definitely does not excuse your behavior. The service provided was not good and I cannot believe this is how this business is being conducted. I will NEVER be returning to your establishment and I'm completely shocked you are getting away with putting people in a garage-bar and charging the prices you are. I am so upset that this was the experience for my grandmother. What a huge disappointment with such a HUGE price. read more

WOW. ..That is all I can say! We just had Thanksgiving dinner at The Cellar and it is the best meal I have had in ages! Amazing turkey and prime rib, tender as can be! The side dishes were amazing, starting with the roasted mushrooms, delicious! The smashed potatoes, greens and Mac and cheese were all fabulous. I will be making my reservation for next year this week. Great family atmosphere with the family style meal and it gave my wife the well deserved break from cooking with all she is working. The Cellar consistently has some of the very best steaks and seafood and other amazing dishes which a discriminating buyer with a fine delightful. I live in Atlanta and brought a group of 12 down to the cellar on Friday night. After dinner we headed over to the Bays...where we'd had an earlier reservation that couldn't be accommodated, which is why we had dinner at the Cellar. In town for work and we drove by a bustling outdoor patio. We enjoyed a great glass of wine, and the most delicious seafood dish. Fried green tomatoes with bacon jam, our work stress melted away. The night was capped off with live jazz music and an awesome vocalist. Jacob was our server, and his demeanor hinted that nothing could trouble him or cause him to care. My first visit to The Cellar tonight....my husband had told me before we left of some of the reviews. My way of thinking is to give it a chance. Well, it was not good! The service was the worse service I've ever had in a restaurant. The waitress was not attentive at all, we were the first to be seated in the restaurant we were a group of 9.. it took an hour and 34 minutes for our food to be served. Not once did our waitress communicate with us about our meal taking so long. I had to ask twice for straws.... we had to ask more than once for refills for our water and drinks. We had to ask when our food would be out, we had bread plates on the table, but no bread was offered. Someone in our group noticed another table had bread, so she asked if we could have bread brought out while we wait, you guessed it, we got the bread after our food finally came out. The manager couldn't have care less either. We asked twice for our bills... then find that they had already figured in the 'service charge' (tip) there was no service! NONE! It just goes on and on.... it's simply amazing how bad service can be over looked by management and not corrected. They lost nine customers tonight that I know of and I don't even think they cared. No stars at all, in my opinion, but this is not an option so, The Cellar gets 1 star so this will post. read more

I have never experienced such poor and unprofessional service in a local restaurant in Newnan as we did at The Cellar. The waitress was very rude and did not bring to the table several items requested. The food was very average, except the wild game sausage was excellent. I was amazed at the ill mannered waitress who actually said F--- Y-- several times to me when I was commenting to the hostess about the poor service on our way out of the restaurant. Updated review - Had the Ahi and fried pickles appetizers, very tasty. Most of our party of 12 enjoyed the salmon and risotto for dinner. Not many restaurants I know will make a fresh risotto due to the amount of effort required to do it right. It is about 30 minutes of almost constant effort and our risotto was perfection. Salmon was also perfectly cooked. Food here is exceptional, service not as good. Also, choose a table far from the stage if you want to talk with your group. read more

The cellar is a great hang out spot, it is 30's-60's crowd of people . They have city street parking and live bands. The drink prices are a little higher and the I wasn't able to try any food because the kitchen closes pretty early. We walked in and waited for a table and then waited for a server but no server ever came to our table so we ended up going to the bar after 25 min of waiting and they explained that the kitchen was closing in 15 min but did not give us a menu and then when we went up to order after we found a menu lying around we couldn't get the bartenders attention so we ended up just eating somewhere else. This is a review of the bays portion of the cellar. The food was pretty good, but it had a limited menu. I went on a Friday night and the music was so loud I couldn't hear myself think. If you're trying to have a conversation this is not the place for you, however if you're on a first date you're dreading, this place is perfect to fill the dead space. The atmosphere is great though, so it would make for a great night out partying with some friends. I'm TRULY not one to rant or complain...but I shall for this moment. Today, I was blessed to celebrate my graduation with family and friends. I made reservations yesterday for my family/love ones at The Cellar at The Firestone and was not respected AT ALL! My reservation was not honored and I was told I could sit on the patio after they setup the tables despite being told the prior day that I would have a "table with a tablecloth" setup for me. I know good customer service and how to treat people. This was a huge disappointment for me and explain to my party that we must take our business elsewhere. At the end of it all I just feel respect is a must but the world has totally forgot this code of ethics. read more

Our server suggested the Fried Green Tomatoes starter which was unique and savory and paired nicely with my requested Mojito cocktail. Cellar Salad was fresh but a little overdressed. Shrimp Etoufee...mmhmm, oh, yeah...hearty and flavorful, definitely worth the $20 menu price! Dessert options were all heavy on dairy. Some lighter options to cleanse the palate would be nice, but for $8 our Lava Cake and Ice Cream was easily shareable. I've eaten here 3x and each time Ive left hungry and unsatisfied. The prices of the food are entirely too high. I've had steak and salmon and both were okay, but not great. The cellar is an extremely tasty restaurant! All the ingredients in each dish compliment each other very well. The food is made fresh to each order which I really appreciate. My favorite dish on the menu is the crab artichoke salmon or the lamb two ways. That risotto is jam packed with delicious braised lamb, with two tasty lamb lollipops on top and the portions are very generous. Also, I'm not big on fish but the seafood options here are very well prepared. Not to mention the restaurant is very visually appealing so it's perfect for a birthday or anniversary dinner!
