DO NOT EAT HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DISGUSTED. My co workers and I went to this Mexican restaurant on our lunch break to have lunch as a group. The experience when we first sat down was overall decent nothing to rave about. We ordered our food everything was fine... until we got our food.... One of my coworkers ordered a taco salad. Pretty simple dish; meat, lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream and.... Beans. Well, one of the beans wasn't like the rest.... One bean was quite large and had LEGS... YEP SHE HAD A ROACH IN HER TACO SALAD. She was very calm and polite about the situation. She called our waiter over and showed him the bug. He simply grabbed the plate from her and walked away into the kitchen. We didn't see him again for a good 15 minutes. He never said anything to us again about the roach... not even an apology. To say the least we were all disgusted at this point. As we were finishing up another coworker noticed a black glob floating around in her drink... we fished the black blob out and put it on a napkin and what is it... MOLD. She had a large chunk of mold floating around in her sweet tea. I took the napkin with the mold on it to our waiter and another waitress that was with him and I said "We just found this in one of our drinks, it's mold" he takes the napkin from me and looks at it and then says "oh it's from the ice machine" I looked dead at him and told him they needed to clean their ice machine that's disgusting. I walked away after that, applauded that he would try to justify there being mold in our drink. He again did not say anything else and neither did the lady with him. No apologies were ever given. Been awhile since we've been here. We walked in and WOW what a renovation. The place looks fantastic. Everything has been replaced, remodeled, refreshed, and painted. The restaurant is very clean and welcoming. We found the staff very attentive and smiling. Our server was very proud of the new restaurant and it showed. My 6 yr old son and I went here for lunch and the moment we walked in I was so impressed with the makeover. The floors and booths had been redone and it was beautiful. Unfortunately, the service and food were not up to par. Our server was nice but extremely slow. She had no sense of urgency whatsoever. We usually really like this place. The first stop was to the rest room to wash my hands with soap and water prior to my meal. No soap of any kind! What are the workers using when they go to the restroom? When I was finishing the last Couple of bites of my quesadilla, the server (female in a bright pink top) came and picked up my plate while I was eating and asked if I was finished (she already had her hand in the beans that was I was planning to eat with some chips.). SO DISAPPOINTING This was our third visit since the remodeling and our first outdoor dinning. The first visit was excellent but each subsequent visit the experience gets worse. The table was dirty, the floor was unswept and there were weeds growing against the wall. All signs of poor management. We were seated promptly and the server acknowledged us by asking if we cared for a drink. When he returned I asked him to wipe the table and he asked "where" then walked away. We had to ask for napkins. Our food order came with no silverware. After several minutes watching our food get cold, we decided to get the silverware ourselves inside the restaurant. The (cold) food was marginally ok, the margaritas were overpriced and terrible (served in a pint glass that was mostly ice). We sat several minutes waiting for our check while watching our server involved in conversation with other employees. After approximately 15 minutes we finally walked to the front desk to pay. Note: while waiting, we watched the busboy drop a glass which shattered at the table next to us. We The busboy picked up the large pieces of glass but never swept the remaining chards. So dangerous for children and dogs. Never again. read more

El Ranchero has great prices and their service is positive. I love their frozen Texas margaritas if they are made by someone who does well making them. In the past, I have had to have them made over more than once because they tasted off. The staff is great at making special requests when it comes to the menu and offers great recommendations. Their steak fajitas are delicious! Love ordering this and enjoying the chips and salsa. Yum! I have tried some soups on the menu, but they are not my favorite compared to other local Mexican restaurants. This is great place to hang out by the bar or outside. We tried this place on a Sunday night, fairly early. They were not slammed and didn't seem under-staffed, but service was still very slow. We had to work to flag down our server a couple of times. Comparing this branch to the one in central PTC, this one has some advantages. It is newer, whereas the other location appears to have been there much longer. This location is more spacious, whereas the original location seems a bit cramped. I would say that overall the older location has more 'character', in terms of carved-wood booths, etc. Also, the branch at Braelinn definitely has more available parking. In terms of the food, there shouldn't be much if any difference. I have only eaten at the other location a few times, so it was hard to judge. I didn't notice a real difference in the food itself here. It was average, decent tex-mex. Based on our experience, I'm more likely to return to the other branch if we opted for an El Ranchero locally. read more

Family who live in this area recommended this restaurant for lunch. He is a regular here and it is his favorite Mexican restaurant in Peachtree City. The portions are huge and I even had to take a doggy bag for my soup. They are very generous with replenishing the chips and salsa. The chicken and rice soup was extremely tasty with lots of shredded white meat and fresh cilantro. The decor is beautiful and the restaurant was very clean. There's also outdoor patio dining, a nice sized bar, and large TVs in the larger dining area as well. The servers are very attentive and friendly. There's no public or guest wifi available, I wouldn't have an issue with this except the entire restaurant is a cellular dead zone for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and even Verizon. Because of this, I am unable to even use my phone's personal hotspot to create a wifi network for internet access on my laptop. This is a major deal breaker for those wanting to hold business meetings and lunches here. The food is excellent, but the lack of cellular service(Not the Restaurants Fault) means I am cut off from all outside comms while here. This could be resolved by setting up an onsite guest wifi network, but so far management has failed to implement this request. If you can deal with being cut off from the outside world for the duration of your visit, I highly recommend this place. The food and service are excellent, I wish management would leave the late 90's and setup wifi for guests, otherwise, this place would get five stars from me. Pro Tip: The young blonde waitress is the best, def request to be seated in her area if you see her working. read more

I skipped the items on the menu I tried last time and stayed with the always-safe-on-a-menu-staple: fajitas!! I don't know what spice mix the rubbed the chicken, steak and veggies with (it may have been fajita seasoning from Kroger) but it was GOOD. Traditional dishes include meat, bell peppers, onions. That's what I got. I was really glad because after my Chile Rellano fiasco I was scared. My fiance had the Speedy Gonzales, which is a taco and enchilada. He orders nothing else and I really don't understand why. I would really like to see a dish that didn't include melted white American cheese. there's an old saying, you can't go home again. the statement rings true with El Ranchero. i grew up in PTC, and my family has been going here for decades. i am not exaggerating when i say we prob ate there twice a week growing up. well, this past weekend is going to be the last time we ever go. my brother and his wife, met my daughter, my mom and myself at the cemetery to visit my dad on saturday. afterwards in a way of "celebrating" him we went to el ranchero. one of the things my brother and i remember so well about going here growing up is their cherry coke was grenadine and coke with maraschino cherries. it was the best version of that drink. so when the waitress came over to our table of 5, she brought one salsa and one basket of mostly crumbs. my brother asked for the cherry coke, and she told us no. they didn't have it. interesting. so my brother ordered a water instead. in fact the whole table ordered water, except me i ordered a sweet tea. we also asked for a large cheese dip, and more salsa and chips. when she walked away i made a comment to my brother about how crazy it was they wouldn't make the drink and some near by know it all waitress decided to chirp in and tell us it was bc they use the grenadine for certain drinks at the bar. the explanation was stupid, and it didn't help her case. order more grenadine. it's cheap. so we order our food. my brother and i both ordered chimichangas and hard beef tacos. i ordered my daughter a child cheese enchilada with cheese dip no red sauce. the waitress asked if we wanted our chimichangas fried? lol what? it's a chimichanga. if it's not fried isn't it just a burrito? so we tell her yes. anyway... food comes out, and nothing is actually hot. it's all mid temp if best. the cheese in my daughters enchilada isn't even melted. our chimichangas weren't fried. and they put cheese dip with jalapeño on my daughters food (shes 3) and so she wouldn't eat it bc it was too spicy. after sending our chimichangas back to have them cooked properly, i wasn't going to send anything else back. but the kicker is, we got our check and she charged us for TWO sweet teas. when i pointed it out to her, she told us it was bc of the refill. which was a BLATANT LIE. i actually went and looked at the menu up front and it doesn't not say there is a charge for refill on teas or sodas. just juice. she lied to get more money on a tip bc she knew she wasn't getting much from us. what a total shame this place has turned in to. i'm sure it's not the original owners anymore, and they have let their quality and their service go to garbage. i would say avoid this place at all cost and go to ANY OTHER MEXICAN RESTAURANT. don't give your money to a company that allows employees to lie and steal from customers for more tip. read more

This used to be the best El Ranchero in the area! The other PTC location is a million times better. It seriously tasted like the fajitas were cooked in butter and nothing else. I ordered the Texas fajitas but didn't get the shrimp that was supposed to come with them. After we told the waitress about it her response after about 15 minutes of discussing it with the manager and 2 other waiters was "I don't know what they're doing about it." Finally the manager came up and asked, "You want some shrimp with your fajita?" Um. Yes please because it's supposed to come with it?! By then we weren't even hungry anymore. I'm going to be perfectly honest. The food here is not good. I like chips and salsa but the chips here have no taste at all. I won't eat them, not even with salsa. They're the worst chips of any Mexican restaurant around. The dishes I've had here are just always a disappointment. And the water here is not filtered. I drink filtered water and have for years so I know immediately and it tastes like tap water. No other restaurant I know has water that tastes like that. read more

I don't think they know what they are doing. The servers for sure don't know the menu. They also don't know how to tell you if something is an up charge and when asked why i'm getting charged more they say "the menu has changed". Which is not correct, so she says oh well "soft tocos are an up charge & steak is up charge" i order the 2 any item combinations and my boyfriend ordered burrito Mexicanos. They said you can get beef tips so he said steak will be fine . She said okay and i got 2 soft tacos. Mind you now there is a picture in the menu by the any 2 item of soft tacos nothing being said about an up charge.
