Happy hour is Monday -Friday 3-6. Beers are 1$ off and there are select 5$ apps. We have been here quite a few times now and the service is always phenomenal! They do tend to get pretty busy on the weekends, so you may have to wait for a table, but it is well worth it! If you do have to wait, they have a couch seating area for you to wait and have a drink! We have tried most everything on the menu and have not had anything we don't like. If you try the zombie chick wings...they are HOT HOT! All of the wings are huge and come with tons of toppings! The burgers are all amazing and made with local middleton made bread. The pretzel is a bit spendy but comes with a pound of brats too so it is superrrrr filling! We came here because our friends in Caldwell mentioned it and because of the good reviews. We really wanted to enjoy the local bar atmosphere. We recently moved to Star from CA. Maybe we stood out to the employees and locals; I was wearing a Hawaiian-type shirt, golf pants, and Skechers. I'm not sure if it was purposeful or coincidental, but the way we felt while dining there was unwelcome and awkward. It started out ok. We walked in, smiled and waved at the female server with dark hair and glasses. She smiled back. We took a table, sat down, and checked out the menu. Enough time passed where we began to think that we were supposed to order at the bar or somewhere else. No one paid attention to us. The server was chatting with another woman while we sat there. Finally, she came over and took our order. We just wanted a couple burgers with fries, my wife wanted a regular Coke, and I chose a local IPA. My beer and a water came out for my wife. No Coke. We waited. The server was chatting again, and it became clear she had forgotten the Coke. After a while my wife asked her again for the Coke. Still, she didn't bring it. Then my wife caught her eye and she brought it. A Diet Coke. Back she went and finally my wife got her Coke. No apology offered. The burgers came out fairly quickly. The fries were decent but I was disappointed in the burger. No flavor, and I didn't really taste the bacon, either. There was a small amount of guacamole on it. The patty actually tasted like the ones in the large bag that you buy in the frozen food section of the grocery store. By the time we finished, our server had disappeared. After a while, I went to the bar so we could pay our bill. The two guys behind it paid no attention to me. I ended up asking the guy with the beard and tattoos if I could pay him. To me, he seemed put out. I paid and we left quickly. I tend to think that our treatment was intentional because we were outsiders. We have been treated so kindly since moving to Star. What a great find off Yelp! Would have never went into this place from the outside look! But once inside very interesting. The staff and other patrons were very friendly and helpful on drink picks! I saw positive reviews for The Chapp on Nextdoor and decided to check it out. I met the owners who were very knowledgeable, hospitable and low key. I like the idea of supporting a family business. The Chapp a great selection of wine, beer and cider. The owners are extremely knowledgeable and happy to make recommendations. Some may think the menu is limited but everything has been carefully tested to make sure it's tasty with quality ingredients. My flame broiled burger was OUTSTANDING. It had a huckleberry bbq sauce that I definitely want to try again. The fries were perfectly crisp and the homemade fry sauce is addicting. I even took an order of jumbo chicken wings (all drumsticks) home and they did not disappoint. The atmosphere reminds me of an old school dive bar that has been meticulously cleaned up. This place is hidden away off of Highway 44 in Middleton, next to the police department. From the outside, you would think it's a dive bar, but we were pleasantly surprised. The inside is somewhat rustic and decorated that way, but still a nice place. We were there for lunch and two of us had the best burgers around ever. They were huge and the ingredients were great. One other was the grilled Reuben sandwich and the meat was very good and the whole thing great. The other was the BLT with high-quality thick, lean bacon, lettuce, tomato, and cucumber slices with aïoli mayonnaise. I got the onion rings which were really good, not greasy and excellent. The others got really good french fries with theirs. Even looking like a dive bar from the exterior, the inside was fine and the food was absolutely outstanding and for very good prices and friendly staff. read more

We ventured out last Saturday to try Chapp. The location is close to home and the ambience is very chill. Food is amazing, didn't think to take pictures but the fried pickles, wings, and pulled pork all exceeded expectations to the point we will return this weekend to try additional items! We sat at the bar so the service was immediate, place was pretty empty on a frigid night. Hoping we will luck out and it be slow again, but doubtful based off the food alone! read more

The food here is incredible. I absolutely love the fried pickles and the Ruben sandwich.

Our daughter was taking a nap so we drove 25 minutes here on a Yelp recommendation. The Chapp was a great spot. It was very busy at dinnertime though so if you don't like that noisy atmosphere, go someplace else. Everything was amazing! My wife wanted a burger but with chicken and they had no problem subbing that out. The pretzel was good, but a bit pricey. The beer list was also great. Overall, highly recommend The Chapp. I dont understand why someone gave this place a 1 star. Its a bar! If you want a low-key place, go someplace else. read more

The Chapp is a perfect place to have a couple of beers (good beers...they don't even carry bud and coors light) or glasses of wine and have an incredible burger. The menu says they use corned beef in their Ruben sandwich. The slices of meat looked like fried thin cut beef and did not taste like corned beef. After asking about it, the server brought a package they buy that says pre-sliced corned beef. This is definitely not like real corned beef. The flavor is not similar at all. Will not return. This place needs to be just a bar! They're not ready to serve food. Major disorganization. It's a free for all on finding a table or getting seated at the bar. Looks like if you know the people who work there you get priority. If you want food don't go here if you want wine and beer I guess it's okay. Where to begin? My girlfriend and I went there for dinner on a Friday evening. We decided to order a couple of cocktails, the chips and salsa for an appetizer and my girlfriend ordered a burger and I had the cheesesteak. After 25 minutes and no appetizer, the food finally came and was on the cold side. We realize there was no ketchup or napkins on the table and had to ask for both the food was OK but the service was not. I had to make sure we did not get charged for the chips and salsa and when the bill came it was $46 not including the tip. I thought that was pretty expensive but paid and left an adequate tip. Some guy chased us out into the parking lot and I assume it was the manager of the owner and he acted like we didn't pay and made me come back into the restaurant. He looked it up on his computer and said look you didn't pay and I said yes we did And he had to check with his server and his server confirmed that we did pay. I guess being accused of dashing and dining was the final straw will not be going back! read more

Not a fan on bars, but this place felt welcoming. I used to be a manager of security of a bar in Huntington, CA. So bars I'm familiar with. This is sweet little gem in Middleton. To bad I live in Nampa, otherwise I'd frequent this spot Friday's or on the weekends. They have a good selection of beers on tap. Also viewed their food menu, sounds pretty tasty!
