Cute little place to grab a drink after strolling and looking at the Caldwell lights. We ordered a cider, Cousin Eddy (hot toddy), and Scott Farcus (hot buttered rum). The drinks were delicious and perfect warm up on a cold night. We came close to closing time so we didn't order food but the pizzas look amazing. This is a beautiful little pizza joint! They don't have a bar, but they do offer wine and select beer. They also have a 3 drink seasonal menu that are liquor drinks but I'm not totally sure if they always have liquor drinks! We were not sure what their food menu was going in so I was a bit disappointed that it was only pizza and no gluten free crust available on the menu. So I ordered a glass of wine and the hubs ordered the hot buttered rum and a pizza. His....looked amazing, smelled amazing and he said it was amazing! The staff came to ask if everything was good and saw that I wasn't eating. (I was super nice, I promise) and I told them that I couldn't have gluten or dairy. He told me that they have gluten free dough and there are people in the wine club that get pizza all the time! So yes, I got my gluten free, dairy free pizza and it was easily the BEST. Craig Davis, the President of the Sunnyslope Wine Association and proprietor of Kindred Vineyards & Winery has made a success of his venture over the years on Frost Road in Sunnyslope. He is changing gears and has opened a wine tasting & pizza service at this beautiful location facing Indian Creek as it passes through Downtown Caldwell. The location is one block northwest of Indian Creek Plaza. The pizza has been made famous by his group of loyal wine club members. The dough is made fresh every day by his daughter, Elisha Brooks. No doubt the lucky people who frequent downtown Caldwell will soon enjoy his unique wood-fired pizzas and his delicious wines. The business has an indoor section and through the use of huge roll-up doors, is connected to a great outdoor patio practically on the Creek. Kindred Vineyard finally opening a second location in downtown Caldwell. Stopped by tonight to check out their grand opening. Located in the new Tilian building, the new Kindred location is in the SW corner over looking the creek flowing by. Offering both indoor and outdoor seating, the place has a great vibe for people to gather and relax. The woodfired pizza is the same great pizza offered at the original location, and the smells coming from the pizza oven can overwhelm the senses. Kindred has several great wine choices to pair with your pizza or to simply enjoy on their own. The seating outside tonight in October was rather pleasurable. This little wine bar offers wine by the bottle and glass, as well as wine flights and some food offerings like a charcuterie board and pizza. They have pretty steep prices, but the atmosphere is cozy and it's a great place to meet up with friends. Our server was very generous and attentive- but not annoying! We were so excited to try the new tasting room located in the Indian Creek Plaza. It is a great location overlooking the creek. It was fun because all of the Christmas lights outside. We are looking forward to the better weather so you could enjoy the outside patio, too. We were the only ones there. So we had the pick of seats. We had made reservations which is recommended. We were promptly greeted by the tasting room manager, Talon. My hubby and I did a wine flight tasting. The cost is $15.00 for 5 pours. We asked to stay with just red wines and they were able to account that request. If you purchase a bottle your tasting fee is waived. The downside is the tasting manager couldn't answer some basic questions, such as where the grapes for the wine are grown or the tasting notes of each wine. We were pleased with the wines. They alao offered some special seasonal drinks. We also ordered a pepperoni and sausage pizza. We loved the wood fired thin crispy crust. So good. We will definitely return. A great place for a date or a group of friends together. read more

The crust on our Arugula Pizza was the best we have ever had! There were five other tables and we were all being served quickly with great smiles and enjoyable conversations. Even though we were inside with other tables nearby, it felt intimate and quiet enough to have a "date night" dinner and actually hear each other and visit. We had a wonderful experience visiting Kindred over the weekend! It was Pi day so we of course got pizza. The pizza, wine, atmosphere and service were amazing. Very cute spot to catch-up with friends. They have an inviting outdoor seating area and roll-up garage doors that will be so nice to enjoy when the weather warms up. First the good-the pizza. I had the mushroom and hubby had the Diablo. Both were excellent. I had a glass of wine that was also good. The bad-everything else. It was a Saturday night and I'd made reservations. When we got there the gal at the counter said sit anywhere. It appeared that she was the only one working and she was way more interested in pouring wines for the wine club members that were there than helping us. Took 10 minutes for her to come to our table. We ordered 2 pizzas and our drinks. Took another 10 minutes to get my glass of wine. Again, server was catering to the wine club members. My pizza came out first. I ended up sharing with hubby because his didn't come out for another 15 minutes. Seriously? These kind of pizzas that about 3 minutes to bake, and I trust their oven is big enough to do more than one at a time. There was a group seated by us that left shortly after we arrived. Nobody bussed the table the whole time we were there. Great location, but with service like that, I don't think they will last. read more
