I LOVE Acero. It's is such a fanatic place. The whole menu is incredible. The meatballs, the pasta, the flatbread, the HAPPY HOUR! Truly such a great place. I love sitting by the fire pit but be careful it does actual get very hot. The happy hour deal and the bottle of wine with the cheeseboard deal for $30 are both incredible. Such a great location in the Grove plaza, so walkable. The service staff are so friendly, the bartenders are knowledgeable, and of course the wine list has great options! My friend and I popped in here for some late night apps and I was blown away by my experience. The ambiance was amazing, including an outdoor heated patio, which was great vibes. They have a great wine selection and an overall great menu. We got the meatball flatbread and the spinach and artichoke dip. The meatball sub had the perfect amount of spice to it and was a good size as well, perfect for sharing. Portion sizes were great, and flavors were notable. I'd have to say the service was the highlight and that's not taking away from the food, but it made the experience that much better. My friend and I stopped in at Acero Boards & Bottles for a girls day out and I'm so glad we did. Downtown at the Grove Plaza, the patio is the perfect people watching spot, shaded by misters to stay cool and surrounded by a trendy, modern vibe. We shared the Pick 4 Bruschetta Board, which is brilliantly cut into fourths for sharing, and every flavor was a hit. The smoked salmon with pesto, apple pecan with brie, burrata and bacon, and heirloom tomato with basil were all amazing. The margaritas were delicious and packed a punch. The setting is beautiful inside, but the patio seemed to be everyone's favorite, and I can see why. The design is thoughtful. Inside, a glowing logo set against a moss wall welcomes you, and a striking artificial maple tree (Acero means "maple" in Italian) creates a stunning centerpiece. Service was great. I was recommended this place by people from the Mode Lounge (the lovely Ruby, always coming through with the hits; you should go visit her over there) and this place did not disappoint whatsoever. So I'm from a stuck up part of the country (Specifically, the rose Garden area of San Jose near Santana Row) and this place reminded me of a place that would easily fit in there, not to downplay it, but Boise is super nice and humble. I walked in and it looked like everyone was on a first date and no one judged me for walking up and sitting at the bar wearing my Brunt blue collar workwear.. I had a fancy old-fashioned and when my spicy rigatoni came out, I simply said "hell yeah". I would highly recommend this place to anybody taking somebody out on date. Except for the fact that I'm extremely heartbroken and recovering right now still and no one else is worthy so I'm not taking anybody I'm not related to, but don't let it stop you. We had about 10 people in our party and they were able to fit us in with just a few days notice during prime dinner time. The service was top notch. We were tucked in the back of the restaurant but were always checked up on. From their flatbreads, pastas, and bruschetta. Everything was actually very sharable, great for a large group. We had a vegan in our party and she was able to find something to eat. The options weren't plentiful but doable! I had their "old money" cocktail which was mezcal, spiced pear, lemon and honey. We had their prosecco & fries pairing for two - flavorful and crispy fries and of course prosecco which they were not skimpy on the serving Flatbread: Pig & Fig - Great combination Arancini - perfect size for sharing. I still have yet to find the best one in town, but, this is okay. They served it with a small container of their marinara sauce, so I asked for extra and they delivered. It was on a Friday night so they were quite busy. Our server was attentive and kept checking on us if we needed anything else. Staff were friendly. Went there for the second time tonight. We put in simple vodka soda drink orders which took thirty minutes to get to us. Thankfully, our waitress was trying to stay positive with the situation, but it was bad. She had to ultimately ask the manager to make them, even though we hadn't complained, which we could have. Then the food came. It was mediocre at best. Our flatbread red sauce tastes like Che Boyardees. It was horrible. I don't plan on going there anytime soon. read more

For lunch today I did the pick two. I grabbed the Italian chopped salad and the figs and pig flatbread. That chopped salad was amazing! I really liked the vinegrett that came on the salad. It was a little sweet so it went well with all the savory goodies in the salad. It was fabulous! The figs and pig flatbread was good. If I wanted to smell tuna fish from the deep sea ocean, I would have texted my ex. Their salmon is not fresh, do not be fooled. I will say the staff is exceptionally excellent, as well as the music, however, it's not enough to distract you from the food. This is my 2nd time in, I (naively) thought to give it a 2nd go-around, not worth it. A huge ripoff of the postinos franchise (which charges 25$ and is much better service/quality compared to 35$) and they can't seem to replicate it as well. Your "warm" bruschetta will come out medium lukewarm and don't expect it to be fresh. The atmosphere is great, but that's not what you rate a restaurant about. As far as the food goes, solid 6/10. read more
