I had my bridal shower booked at JoVinos for June 6th and was really disappointed by the lack of communication regarding their temporary closure. I was never contacted directly, despite having an upcoming event scheduled. The only way I found out was through Instagram, where they posted they were "taking a short pause for training, updates, and a few exciting changes" and reopening June 19th. After seeing that, I finally understood why my messages had gone unanswered. I completely understand that unexpected closures happen, but not notifying clients with already-booked events caused a lot of unnecessary stress, especially with guests traveling from out of town. We were then told we could still use only the patio space, without access to the inside of the venue, which felt unreasonable for the cost of the rental. This was not just a misunderstanding, there was simply no communication about an important event planned in advance. I truly hope the business does well moving forward, but I also hope communication with customers improves in situations like this. I hope this does not happen to anyone else. read more

Kind customer service! Beautiful building with indoor eating and drive thru. I haven't gone inside yet but it looked like a really nice spot to have breakfast or lunch with a friend. My order of a Bacon Burrito Bowl and a Cappuccino in the drive thru was about a 15 minute wait and both were just ok. I am always getting coffee towards downtown Boise or in Boise. I thought I'd step out of my comfort zone and try other joints in Eagle since Eagle is right next to me. Today's Eagle pick is JoVinos. It's conveniently 5 minutes away from my house. I have driven by this place hundreds of times and never put two and two together that this is a coffee joint. I have been to Caffeina heading towards downtown on State and their downtown location a handful of times. It's nice to know there's another one heading in the other direction for me to hit up. Pulling up, this venue is stunning. I love the tables outside but you also see the beautiful outdoor seating available, how cozy and romantic. I walked in and can already tell by the esthetic of this joint that it's a branch off of Caffeina. The plants, chill vibe and unique set up. This coffee joint is so sexy and chill. The colors of the decor, the green lush leaves, the way the tables and chairs are set up. You can hang out and not realize how much time has passed by. Out of all the coffee joints in town, I would have never thought I would use sexy and coffee together but at this location, it fits. I ordered my regular drink today. Med iced americano with some sugar free white chocolate. The barista that helped me was sweet and got my drink started. She was kind and asked if I wanted to pour my own cream, it was nice to have that option. I'm not picky so I let her make my drink how she saw fit. My drink we delicious! Rich in espresso, the perfect amount of cream and slightly sweet. I sipped and enjoyed my americano while enjoying the cool atmosphere. I sat towards the back where there were huge comfy pillows. I would have loved to enjoy the outside seating but the air conditioning was feeling too good on this hot summer day. I know this joint acts as a wine bar as well. A nice option to come in for wine or coffee for the non drinkers. Plenty of seating for few friends to come in for some beverages and gossip. This joint is nothing like anything else in town. Romantic, sexy and chill. I can't wait to come back by myself or with a few of my friends. I can see this place being a hot spot for a night cap. The waterfall, patio lighting and your favorite person. That would be a great way to end any date or get together. I look forward to having a night like this here. read more

Jovino's in Eagle is amazing! I could walk to this place from my hotel and stumble back after the wine! Cute little place, it is like a coffee shop married a wine bar with very friendly baristas. I had the pleasure of talking to a young barista who also fought wild fires during the summer. I did not catch her name, but she was a delight to speak with. I enjoyed several glasses of chardonnay at the bar and my sweet tooth got the best of me and I ordered this delectable sweet roll which hit the spot! I wish I had a Jovino's in my hometown! Love the ambiance and upscale feel of this place. They have a nice variety of offerings and serve wine as well. They also have an outside area that is very nice and welcoming. Employees are really friendly. One thing I don't really understand is tea, that many folks drink for its health benefits, comes in plastic tea bags. These have been know to leach microplastics in the tea that we end up consuming - plastic is not meant to be consumed. It is a toxic load to our system. So would be wonderful if JoVinos would source a healthier brand. read more

This place used to be good. Lots of the original team members that I had recognized and trusted with my money are now gone. Lots of new faces and quality has gone down. Coffee isn't even being filled to the top of the cup so I'm not getting the amount I paid for anymore. Getting your coffee with almost two inches missing and you're paying $5-6 dollars for DRIP, you can't justify this at this point. Joe (as in coffee) and Vino (as in wine) = JoVino's, a combination of coffee bar for a.m. and wine bar for later hours (although, I guess one might be able to buy vino any time) is by the same owner / investors as Rembrandt's and Caci in Eagle so that connection provides a bit of what one might expect here when it finally gets its' groove on. (Open now but not running at full speed at first it seems.) Like the other two by same owners this will find its' demographic in the area for locals who have more interest in gathering in groups to sip and drink together than in great food or stellar service. A step above the "YO Duude!" and "Sooper Cute!" audience but not quite the quality wine bar audience focus. Not that there's anything wrong with that, as Seinfeld and Costanza would say. And it is genius for how it fits the local demographic. After our first visit we'll wait a bit to go back and see if once fully set things are better orchestrated. And I'll close my comments with those of the owner(s) as posted on web site so readers can see where this is intended to go but it is not yet there. That as preamble, here's the rest: THE VIBE: Walk in high ceiling, lot of windows space with seating at a couple high tables, 1 communal, 4 lounge chairs at a fireplace and 3 tiny "one top" size standard height tables against a wall at back that probably would seat 2 people each but every inch of all 3 tables were taken up by two people with laptops and work documents spread among them...rude of them. A wall of wine bottles are on display at the back en route to the (2) loo. The bulk of the seating, all of it at convenient standard height including upholstered sectionals and tables and chairs, is outside on a big patio. Outside seating has overhead heaters and a water feature. This is going to be at the heart of popularity for this place, outside gathering. Smart. THE DRILL: High bar counter on left is also order counter with a big menu on the wall above it. Everyone who entered on the roughly noon hour when we were there seemed unsure of what to do, us included, and stood far back to look at the menu. Nice guy behind the counter called out he could take orders. My hubby ordered our Mexican mocha and stepped over to look at wine display while he waited and a nice woman came out to ask if this was his order and handed to him. I don't know if they'll do table service or not when full open. THE MENU: Coffee beverages of many kinds and wine that can be purchased by glass or bottle. While the advance marketing on this described it as small plates format to go with wine, the only food available currently seems to be a handful of breakfast items - bowls and handheld items. Looks like the small plates options are a ways out but with what seems like a minimal kitchen, not sure what they will be. THE JOE: One of the things we enjoyed at Rembrandt's when we were customers there was remarkably good coffee. (We finally gave up due to woeful food at times from inconsistent kitchen and too many instances of lackluster service all things management could address...this was 2019 so not pandemic issue...but didn't.) Alas, the great coffee didn't transfer to here if our experience was the standard. The Mexican mocha tasted like cinnamon syrup sweetened milk with not a trace of chocolate or coffee. THE VINO: Bottles displayed on wall were diverse and seemed curated to offer a number of choices across price points. We are old winos...umm...well seasoned oenophiles...and my husband noted by bottle prices seemed comparable to those at retail locations like the Boise CoOp's Wine Shop. My understanding is, and this may be wrong, given the close to retail pricing of the bottles (most places mark up by a lot) they will charge a corkage fee for service on site if you consume it there. ACCESSIBILITY: One ADA parking spot in front. Ample floor space at order counter. Seating inside at 3 small tables MAY have floor space for wheelchair users. Loo are accessible. Patio has clear path of travel between seating and standard height tables. LOO: Two uni, a good plan when beverages are the main service. Auto matic water faucet set to cold water only on our visit...brrrrr. DRIVE THROUGH: They have one. PARKING: Private lot. OWNERS MARKETING NOTE: "JoVinos will have its own proprietary espresso and coffee blends with simple breakfast items and grab and goes for the morning.  Lunch offerings will include salads and craft sandwiches.  And for the evenings, tantalizing small plates will complement the wine offerings.  We will feature roughly 140 bottle selections at aggressive retail pricing, and for those relaxing by the fire or enjoying time with friends by the water feature, we will serve you and just add a corkage fee for the service.  We will also feature rotaing wines by the glass and beer by the bottle." read more

This place was absolutely amazing with a group of 20+ for a book club meetup. They went above and beyond to make our evening special. The food was presented beautifully, the service was excellent and the staff all had smiles from ear to ear. The wine selection was superb. The coffee was excellent. Came for a wine date with a girlfriend. They had a good selection of glasses to choose from. We both found wines we enjoyed easily. Service was friendly. Unfortunately the fire place outside wasn't working. My only other complaint was that they close pretty early for a Friday night. My friend and I stayed way after closing without even realizing and we felt terrible! The two girls working said it was no problem but still -- we felt bad! I would definitely come back. I've been meaning to check JoVinos out for quite awhile, so today I finally did. The ambiance is modern yet inviting , the staff attentive and knowledgeable. The food was artfully presented and tasty. My friend and I shared a Burrata and Prosciutto board, plus the Meat and Cheese board. Both the coffee and wine selections were extensive, certainly something for every taste. The patio looked amazing - a definite place to try when it's a little warmer ( although, I think it is heated.) I had the most lovely time here yesterday afternoon! I initially came w/a large Meetup Grouo- but then I stayed & visited w/several great solo visitors. The outdoor patio has great airflow- yet keeps u sheltered from most elements- so very well thought out. And seating was mostly mid height- thru the inside & out- so I'd say very accessible. The staff was super friendly& accommodating to our large group AND to the solo guests- a rare find! As someone who doesn't drink much, nor regularly- I thoroughly enjoyed the red wine recommended (& it's worth noting I was offered a couple tastings without even asking!) & I was extra impressed that the Hostess helped me pair the right coffee to enjoy with my wine & food. (I'm usually not a big fan of americanos- but they clearly used filtered water & a quality coffee to make it- so it just hit the spot!) I was able to ride my mobility scooter to this location, where plenty of parking exists. I did not see a bike rack, nor perfect place for my scooter (im able to get out & seat in normal chairs, but a scooter would be allowed at a time I assume... & well behaved dogs were allowed too Im definitely planning to come here many times in the future... as more casual then Coynes,, less snooty then Rembrandts, quieter & more seating options then Caci, & it had a vibrant coffee & wine bar feel... not just coffee nor just wine... im thrilled I have a local place to go now (for hours longer than my beloved Perks of Life.) I think I'll really love this place in the summer. The wine list was great - so many wonderful options (buy a bottle to share). Wine by the bottle is the retail price so expect to add $7 for a corkage fee. The service was spectacularly professional and friendly. The only thing I would have appreciated is more indoor seating. I was meeting friends at 4:30 and even though I got there early, I only just managed to snag 3 chairs for us. The outdoor patio looks amazing and I can't wait for it to warm up so we can enjoy the ambiance with more room. Next time I want to try some of their small plates. They looked yummy. read more

Today I called and asked if they would allow my puppy on the patio and they said yes . We came here tonight because it looked like such a cute place ( and it is ) but I could t help but notice it wasn't very busy and there were at least 6 or 7 employees jumping around chaotically and talking to each other while seemingly ignoring some customers. My husband went inside and waited for nearly 10 minutes for a menu . We went outside to sit down and read over it and noticed nobody coming out to take our order so we went inside . The staff seemed somewhat flustered and grumpy but I figured because it appears to be a brand new business they don't quite seem like they know what to do . Not a big deal but when our incredibly mediocre/ lackluster food came I knew this place was probably no bueno . Although The sauv. Blanc was seriously great . The bill was well over $50 for two glasses of wine , a sandwich with extremely stale bread , and an alleged Waldorf salad that was really just grapes , raisins , and apple slices covered in mayonnaise with 5 pieces of butter lettuce . As we were getting ready to leave the patio , An employee came running out yelling before she could reach us as she was coming out the door saying that dogs can't be on their patio furniture because it's just " way too hard to remove the dog hair from it ! " Her eyes we're furious and her face red , she was really angry . We weren't told this the entire time we were there let alone when I called . Not to mention there wasn't any signs indicating such so That was a bizarre scenario . All I could do was laugh and we left . Definitely not worth going back to until they at least change employees or management . Oh and they were blasting Ed Sheeran songs on repeat the majority of the time and my ears are still ringing from it - so all in all it was a real buzzkill . 2/10 read more
