Stayed here for an event shortly after they reopened for the season. Large, rustic rooms were well appointed. Enjoyed the warm pool (they also have two hot tubs). Fitness Center was clean and well equipped. Breakfast was not included in my package so I wandered across the street for coffee and pastry on days the conference did not provide breakfast. Seemed like an excellent choice for a conference: good-size rooms, no tech difficulties. Strong WiFi, and meals were varied with the staff providing great service. Unimpressive experience and definitely not worth the money. Check in staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. Room located in a second wing-- that means you have to walk through the underground parking garage to get to the elevator. Our first room was on the second floor and the windows were 50% blocked with snow. We requested a new room and all they could do was put us one floor up in the same building. It was a slight improvement. Morning buffet included. Good selection and quality of food. Turndown service was a nice touch- comes in handy when they seem to forget to service the room during the day. Thermostat did not function in the room. Room refrigerator also did not work. read more

We just spent 5 nights at the Chateaux DV and what made it so special was the staff. From the people at reception who booked our reservation, to each person who helped us, drove the shuttles (Brian Fox, Patrick Robin and Adam) , everyone did their best to be friendly, make us smile and were so personable. Alex Savarie and Alex Lyman went above and beyond to naked sure our stay was perfect in every way, making sure we had our bearings, knew where to hike, eat and everything in between. Situated in the ski slopes in the elevation above 9,000 ft, this beautiful hotel is a great getaway destination for ski enthusiasts. We stayed at one of their multi-level residence suites with 2BR, 2Baths, a full kitchen, a giant refrigerator, a laundry room, a dining table , abundant closets, many more. It was so spacious that we thought we were in a wrong suite . It appeared to be almost 2000 sf plus . We thought we booked a suite but it turned out the suite was much bigger than we expected. No complaints! We enjoyed the abundant amenities thoroughly. It was not cheap but , we were on our annual ski trip that we wanted to stay at a skin-in/ski-out resort hotel where we could chill out after a long day of skiing and this was just ideal. The hotel staff were nice & the bar, restaurants, the proximity to downtown Park City. All met out check marks. We especially loved Patrick, one of the hotel concierge staff, who was genuinely caring his customers & enjoying his job. He shuttled around us to the restaurants, helped us to find things , answered questions, carried our multi-suitcases (mostly mine) to our room , um, to our apartment & everything else! The most unfriendly & unaccommodating experience ever. Prejudice galore but if your caucasian you'll be ok. I witnessed their staff go out of their way for them but for a Latino family, not do much. I never felt welcomed here. The staff behind the desk just stared at me like I didn't belong there. This place is expensive. They messed up my reservation. I was there here for a business conference & needed two rooms for my family. When I get there they only had one room for a family of five. They only offered me the most expensive room down the hall. So instead of my children being in the room next door, They're down the hall in the most expensive room. No discount, no apology, no nothing. Take it or leave it. Stayed the night here for an overnight anniversary trip and it was great. The rooms are beautiful and have a small kitchenette with microwave and fridge it was nice to be able to bring some drinks and treats in and have them cold. The service was good. Everyone was very friendly and breakfast was great too. They are just serving it family style right now with covid and it was perfect. I will for sure recommend this place and stay again. The only down side was the rooms were a little hard to find and a bit of a walk. It was an ok walk for us but for someone that has a hard time walking this could be an issue. read more

My husband and I stayed at The Chateaux last weekend in a three bedroom (separate entry door with key as well as three separate rooms with keys- master had living room and kitchen) with our friends (three couples total). This was a hotel choice of our friends getting married so we decided to book through their room block. The property was gorgeous and the customer service was excellent. What stuck out: -Breakfast buffet and service was on point with different offerings each morning. -Lobby bar was stunning with an enormous window and amazing view. -Multiple hot tubs on site. -Although the spa is very small and lacking amenities, my massage and masseuse was INCREDIBLE. She let me know that all of the masseuses rotate between each of the three properties (The Chateaux, The Stein and the The Stein Residences). Seriously may have been my favorite massage of all time- I wish I remembered her name! -Complimentary car service to nearby locations- just line it up with the front desk/ concierge. -Complimentary coffee, tea and infused water all day. -Housekeeping kept our space PRISTINE. It's the last morning of our five day stay at the Chateau. My fiance and I had a relaxing time here. It's been relatively quiet because the hotel is at 35% capacity - next week will bring the real crowds. While booking through the hotel website, my guy let them know we are newly engaged and asked for a nicer room. They steered him away from the current view of the construction going on across the street. The room is very nice (room 340). The four-poster king is very comfortable with plenty of pillows and down comforter. The fireplace is a nice touch. While unpacking, we were surprised by a knock on the door and a staff delivered a tray of strawberries with a hand-written card congratulating us on our engagement. A very nice touch! The other nice things in the room include robes and slippers, a kitchenette with microwave, small refrigerator, plates, glasses, flatware, Keurig coffee maker, towel warmer, and an air humidifier, which is key for the dry air. They also provide a lip balm with the toiletries! We enjoyed the daily breakfast buffet which was included in the price of the room. We also had dinner twice in the restaurant which was pretty good. I visited the gym and found it to be a little small but well equipped. Above all, we really appreciated the excellent service from every one of the staff. They were all very friendly and accommodating. It's been especially nice to have the free shuttle service to Main Street. My tips for this hotel would be to bring lots of singles for tipping the shuttle drivers and breakfast servers. Take advantage of the kitchenette with a trip to a market for snacks/beverages, because this is a resort town and there's nothing close by that's affordable for basics. Go to the Stein Erickson for ambience - the Chateau is nice, but it doesn't have the feel of a resort. We both thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would recommend it to those looking for a nice, but not grand, place to stay in Park City. read more

We spent 6 days at the Chateaux and the most wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. Shoutout to Alex, Patrick and Nick - they are so kind and wonderful. Our rooms were great. Love the full kitchen. They offer complimentary shuttle service, you download an app and it is extremely user friendly. They always have plenty of water on hand for you. Their breakfast buffet had a lot of options and was delicious for the adults and the kids. They have free s'mores kits at the front desk to use in the fire pits - so fun. Their cleaning staff was also so friendly and did a very thorough job. We will definitely be back and look forward to it! read more

The most gorgeous place on earth! I will say that any room that you get here will allow you to have a gorgeous view. Staying here two times I will tell you try your very very best to get a Murphy bed room with a kitchen - they are my absolute favorite. These rooms have a full kitchen allowing you to cook and enjoy your time with your friends and family with all of the things that you would need to make a meal. I had a full dish set, pots and pans, and all of the things that I would need as far as utensils. I also love this room because with the Murphy bed you can put the bed up and open up your living room that also has a fireplace or you can pull the bed down making it more relaxing to enjoy the fireplace and the TV. I also love how there is still ample space with the Murphy bed to be able to move around while it's down. I also love these rooms because they have a decent sized balcony and when I say decent I mean big. I love getting the balcony that either faces the tree line or the balcony that faces the fountain no matter what any of you is perfect. read more

Sebastian, the host, was there for all of our meals and knew our room number after 2 days The resort offers complimentary on-demand shuttle service to both Deer Valley and Park City slopes as well to other locations around Park City. Kirkland happen to be a driver whenever we used the service. He too was personable and always prompt. The food and service were amazing at Cena. Travis was dinner our server - attentive, friendly, and on-pointe. We shared the Italian chopped salad and had the lobster pasta and veal Bolognese pasta. Everything was fantastic. Our only complaint/bad experience was pertaining to the hot tub. The chateaux's hot tub was under repair/construction and we were directed the their sister property across the street at Stein Erikson Lodge. Very unimpressed. The staff were extremely irritable and unfriendly. We were aggressively shewed out of the bar (assuming he was the bar manager "you can't stand here. Go to the hostess" pointed then rudely walked away - no opportunity to get a word in)....but we weren't interested in being seated. Just wanted to grab a cocktail to sip on while in the hot tub but they wouldn't serve us unless we were seated. Got the run around and was sent to the arcade bar (beer and wine only). No one was willing to offer solutions, only send us somewhere else. Here's an idea - offer pool side service! Overall our entire visit was very enjoyable and would highly recommend. read more

When speaking with the manager apparently there was no rooms that were not construction adjacent. We canceled this reservation and moved over to the Pendry. Our short one night stay at the Chateau(x) Deer Valley was odd, a bit schizophrenic, and surreal. Arriving late on a Sahara like hot day, we had few expectations, as the heat withered any excitement. The road from downtown Park City climbed vertically, but the temperature refused to drop. Eventually, we arrived at a cluster of resorts all gathered around a ski lift, and pulled into the Chateau(x)'s underground garage. The hotel itself was designed as an ersatz version of a French chateau, a bit dated, pleasant, but definitively not our style. Service by a young man at the check in desk was fantastic. He was organized, efficient, warm and handled our free shuttle reservations with aplomb. We booked a ride from the hotel to dinner at the St. Regis, and booked another ride from the Snow Valley concert venue to downtown. The shuttle phone number was on the room key card. Our room was rather lovely, with a gas fireplace, huge four posted bed, and a small kitchenette. Certainly, it was not new, and the chateau design a bit much, but it was very comfortable. The TV was new, and while the only sink was in the kitchenette, there were sliding doors to block noise and light from the sleeping area. A tiny bathroom contained a small whirlpool tub with shower head, plastic shower curtains, and a toilet. Towels were thick though, and a heated towel rack kept them dry. We looked for something to do for a couple of hours, there was a bit of isolation up here during the summer, away from the bustle of Park City. The Chateau(x) is managed by the same folks who run the Stein Eriksen across the street, and staff at both places have this clean cut, robotic, "Stepford Wives" affect. Both places seem to lack a fun quotient. The bar at the Chateau(x) was empty late Friday afternoon, and there was no sit down bar at the Stein Eriksen. (???) Problems occurred with our shuttle reservations. We got to the St Regis just fine. However, our shuttle reservation for the trip from the concert to downtown was lost somehow, and my phone call to the Chateau(x) was answered by someone who never heard of us and spoke English poorly. Fortunately, we anonymously squeezed on to a shuttle back to the hotel after somehow finding it in the dark outside the concert venue. Everything about the shuttle system seemed disorganized. Back at the hotel at 9:30, there was absolutely nothing to do, and we hopped on the last shuttle to downtown Park City. I do not know what you would do at the Chateau(x) after six in the evening. It is isolating, with no bar or entertainment around. The breakfast buffet the next day was free, but the offerings were mediocre, and the staff disorganization continued. Training temporary staff out of season must be difficult in Park City. The Chateau(x) was pleasant enough and the room lovely. Prices were reasonable in summer, but I still can't figure what we would do at night up here. If you like to tuck in early, the Chateau(x) would make a nice get away. read more

Update: Refunds were given at about half of what I was expecting but overall, I'm happy. So back to a great review for staff and the property. I've had to change my review due to the check out process and being overcharged about 2k. I have tried to reach the hotel three times and I have sent five emails. First I was told front desk manager was waiting on a refund amount for me. Now I'm being told to continue to try to call the front desk. I have asked multiple times for an email explanation and refund of products and services we didn't receive as well as being over charged for an extended stay. It's disappointing when the treatment slips to zero stars after we've left the property. Saddened by this since we will now choose another lodge for our stay next time. read more

Definitely a little gem in deer Valley! My husband and I came up here for a little weekend getaway, and we were so excited to find this place! It's a small Château, but the grounds are beautiful, and the on-site restaurant is amazing! This little gem is located right in the heart of Deer Valley, so there are several other lodges, and inns that you can walk to. We came in October, so the time of year was ideal for the price, but not ideal for any kind of hustle and bustle and excitement and energy you would normally get from the ski town. Most of the shops are closed unless you walk over to the Stein Eriksen Lodge. Plus it's 2020 so... There's that. We stayed in a king bed, without a fireplace. There is a tiny kitchenette that doubles as a bathroom, so it was really nice to have a mini fridge and a little area to bring up a bottle of wine and some champagne for ourselves, but I would have loved to have at least a sitting area in the room, a couch and coffee table was all it was missing! There is really no room to do anything, but sit on sip wine on the bed, since you couldn't sit anywhere else...I've been reading the other reviews after our stay, and I wish we would've requested a different room. Or at least one with a view... But that being said, the bed was very comfortable, the resort was very quiet, and we didn't hear the slamming of doors of our neighbors all night like we normally do in other hotels. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Cena on site restaurant, and I have to say it was delicious! We are already talking about coming back up in a few weeks just have the dinner! I know that these are times of COVID and everyone was doing their best with social distancing, and safety procedures, so my only comment about dinner is to just add some nice white tablecloths to the table, play some different music like Italian crooners or big band since it is an Italian restaurant, and a tiny little candle on the table. I feel like that would've made the restaurant feel a lot more romantic, and also just a little more elegant. The breakfast the next morning was at the same restaurant. We pre-paid for the breakfast buffet for two which was included in our hotel package. We weren't sure how they were going to do a Buffet style breakfast in times of Covid, but they had it all figured out! They brought us a few different plates of food, and it was actually the perfect amount and just what we wanted! If we wanted more bacon we could ask for it, if we wanted orange juice we could ask for it, the staff and the service was 100% delightful and honestly, we thought we got such an amazing value for our money! We booked on line for 3 persons. My husband and I and our 11 year old daughter. The reservation was clearly for 3 people and said as much in our confirmation. They offered us a king room with no couch or other cot. Apparently we needed to pay more to rent an actual bed for her even though she was confirmed on the reservation. We made the best of it, she made a pillow fort and it was fine. The following morning, they would not honor her free breakfast as they said our room was for 2. I again showed them their confirmation which clearly indicates 3. They said that the buffet only included 2 people. This is a $10 concession they could have offered to make a happy customer. First and foremost I want to mention the staff - and I mean everyone we met. Quite simply they were all superb....friendly, helpful, professional and eager to be of service! The property itself was nice, clean, comfortable and well appointed. Some stand out features: 1) the complimentary shuttle service that runs well into the night. The shuttle leaves the hotel every 30 minutes, however, we never waited more than 10 minutes (when leaving the hotel, or getting a ride back from town) whenever we called; 2) our stay included a complimentary breakfast buffet (not sure if that is provided to all guests or is based on the type of reservation we had). Either way, that was a really nice touch. The restaurant (Cena) was nice...good food, reasonable prices and a modest selection of options that will keep you busy for a day or two and is a nice choice when you don't want to drag yourself into town after a long day on the slopes. When I ask why they received their room before me, they tell me that they might have requested a different room. It would make sense if we are different group of guest. My son and I have been coming to Deer Valley for 13 years and this was our first time staying at The Chateaux. We truly couldn't have been any happier. Every single part of the trip was as you'd expect from a higher end resort. Their staff was top notch, enjoyable, accommodating, helpful and service oriented. From the beginning of our trip Jackie at the front desk set the tone - she arranged great dinner reservations for five nights during the holiday season and always checked in on us every day to see if we were happy. The hotel breakfast, the workout room and snack shack area were all top of the heap touches that just added to our trip. But above all the entire staff was fun, professional and extremely service oriented. Finally the entire staff in the adjoining rental facility was the best rental experience I've had in my 37 years of skiing. There were many families with kids of all ages enjoying the whole facility. This hotel and their staff stand out as how to provide a first class high end travel / ski experience during the Pandemic. I have been here during season and off season and The Chateaux is my favorite destination. It's even more fun with snow, ski, and the Christmas holidays. For the price, this place didn't quite live up to my expectations. While there were many great features like being across the street from the slopes, free shuttle to Park City, friendly staff, hot tub and pool, some things just should have been better. We had a king room, with a fireplace, great bed. But the room only had one chair and one night stand. King rooms are usually for couples so why not have another chair and night stand. The hotel did give us another chair but the layout didn't really allow for us to both sit and relax or even have table to have some snacks and wine apres skiing. The other disappointment was the breakfast. Again, what they served was more of a holiday inn type breakfast, besides having tons of berries, the selection was very poor and since we were there for 5 days, even more so. Also the restaurant in the hotel is very average and the bar scene is dead past 8pm. It would have been nice to have a more lively environment to hang out in at night. read more

My husband and I stayed here recently during a house-hunting trip in an effort to get a better sense of the area. It was our first vacation in ages without our sons in tow, so we wanted to treat ourselves to a nice, relaxing place. We didn't spend much time on the property, but it just wasn't a good fit for the two of us. (Although, it would have perfect had we been traveling with our kids.) Our bedroom window faced the pool, so it was quite loud, both day and night. The complimentary breakfast (buffet) was disappointing. The best part was enjoying wine on the patio outside the bar in the lovely mountain summer evenings, but that was more about the weather vs the surroundings. The room was old and small, incredibly overpriced. The restaurant was horrible, we did not even eat the free breakfast after the first day. The amenities are sparse at best. If you are coming to Deer Valley spend a little extra for another place. I will say the staff in incredible nice and the service is great. My husband and I have stayed here for overnight a few times in order to get out of Salt Lake for a romantic mini trip, and its a wonderful place to stay every time. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, the bar and restaurant staff included, and the grounds are so fun. We've enjoyed time at the pool, as well as around the fire in the evening. Honestly, it's hard for us to stay anywhere else now. The rooms are so cozy and comfortable, and the restaurant, both for dinner and breakfast, is delicious. We arrived at 130 am after driving all day. The room has its own washer and drier. The room also has a bathtub that's a hot tub. The grounds are kept beautiful. The free breakfast was good. I'd ask for a bit more variety and more gluten free foods but beggars can't be choosy. The bed itself was a bit hard for me. The outside hot tub was very hot. So that was good. You're on top of a mountain do the scenery is awesome along with the other hotels. It looks like a scene out of dumb and dumber lol. read more

I was nervous to book this place via Expedia but I wanted a quiet, luxury hotel for my husbands birthday weekend. It is amazing! Cosette at the front desk when we checked in was so friendly and accommodating! Mike the bellman answered all our questions and was very helpful when we had an issue with our door. The food was amazing in the restaurant and drinks in the bar were strong and reasonably priced. I know this may not be the most "hip and exciting" place to be in Park City but it was exactly what WE were looking for; romantic, great service and had everything we needed. This is the worst stay I've ever had at a hotel. My room was in the second wing and I had to walk through a busy and incredibly smelly parking lot to get to it. There's heavy construction happening in the second wing and courtyard and my window opens directly to it! The first day I woke up from the whole building shaking because of heavy machinery dropping construction material right outside my window and the second day with heavy drilling and demolition in the next room! It was terrifying! Not to mention full on construction went on during the whole 2 days while workers had loud conversations outside my window... Who in their right mind houses guests in the middle of a construction site?! I can't believe anyone in hospitality would dare call their establishment a resort while providing such a horrendous stay!! I brought it up to reception and they acted shocked and surprised about the details on the first day and of course everything got worse on the second LOL. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Chateaux, the room with two queen beds was lovely with casement crankout windows that let in the best breeze and view, we had a gas fireplace and the flooring in the bathroom area was heated should you choose to heat them. The beds were very comfortable. The staff from start to finish was lovely, constantly asking if we need anything or could they get us something. When asked for where to get ice they brought it right to our room. The only down side if any was the pool was on the small side, but the view more than made up for it! We had our two boys with us and they loved playing chess and cornhole. We will for sure be staying here again!! read more

Booked a room here. Usually stay at the Stein Erickson Lodge; this its sister property. Well more like this is its step sister property. I love Deer Valley and the European feel the Stein properties portray themselves to be. Hence the name of the Hotel. They consider this hotel luxurious. After I got out of the elevator I was appalled because what hotel put guests in a work zone.. how taboo. Come on at least pick up the cut up carpet and take down the signs on the door. Then the hits kept coming... I walk in and felt like I was staying in the heart of Texas. I couldn't wrap my head around the decor, yard sale snowman pillows, large child like banner, holes in the wall, and the other many things that contradicted the European flair the hotel is suppose to possess. So confused, I called the front desk and this is what I learned: 1. We were placed in a room that was a privately owned unit that was sold to them by the Stein and managed by the Stein Erickson. 2. The owner is given Cart Blanche to decorate any way they want 3. The Stein is a 5 star and this is only a 4 star 4. Forbes was impressed with this property and that is how it was given a 4 star rating. Well that explained why I was confused and the pictures reinforce my confusion. So here is how I replied to her (she was the manager). 1. If I wanted to stay in a Airbnb or VRBO I would have booked me a place through them. See If I did I could pick out my own decor. 2. Maybe owners shouldn't be allowed to choose their decor.. people need to feel like they are staying at the property that they portray. Bathroom kitchens and yard sale decor doesn't exude luxury. 3. This is a 4 star.. look at the pictures and you decide for yourself. 4. And lastly, I told her that Forbes must not have stayed in this room because if they did they may have considered giving it a different rating. Buyer Beware.. before paying several Benjamin's make sure you explore other properties in Deer Valley. I won't even stay at the Stein Erickson Lodge anymore; which I have at least once a year for several years. I had a bad experience at The Chateaux Deer Valley, they weren't accommodating towards guests that aren't high end. Their team was pretentious and I would recommend a different resort if you're looking for guest services that only accommodates to guests that pay for advice. read more

This is one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Thankfully, it was at a discounted rate because 1. It's off season for skiing and 2. we were attending a wedding that had a group rate. I wouldn't normally splurge on a hotel room like this, but it's nice to have excuses to treat yourself every now and then. I arrived in the huge room and immediately was transported to a winter wonderland in the middle of September. There's a fireplace, a California King bed, all rustic wood interiors and furniture and a huge tub with jets that can fit two adults. Friggin' awesome. There were also his and hers sinks so no need to fight over bathroom space. Also included was Starbucks coffee, a refrigerator and a microwave. It felt like a mini-bachelor apartment in a ski lodge. I could definitely be a hermit in one of these rooms for a few days. The staff were great but there is one huge thing that bugged me. Check in time 4pm, check out time 11am. Are these people even in the hospitality business?? That is bullshit, especially at a luxury resort, so I purposefully did not observe it. COME ON. Other than that though, everything was perfect and I'd be delighted to return. read more

Although my stay was paid for (tagged along with my husband who had a work conference at the hotel, so expenses were paid for), the hotel itself could use a make over. It's just outdated, and in some areas dirty. Staff was nice enough (bellhop was very friendly), and the free shuttle service was nice. The drivers were all very friendly. I still just can't see why this place is so expensive, and we don't mind spending money on nice accommodations. There is no room service during the day....PERIOD! It's from 6-9pm and the menu is very limited. There is a free breakfast every morning, which was good enough. Having to walk through the snow or down through the garage was a bit inconvenient though. Asked for a late check out (by one hour) and wasn't accommodated. You would think at this level they would allow for it. Bed was highly uncomfortable (Murphy style bed), with no back support. Also, the fitness center needs some serious updating. Old machines, hardly any weights, down in the basement, and very small. I'm usually not picky (you can see other reviews I've written), but if you're going to rep a certain level of quality and service, then you should follow through. read more
