Unfortunately, this was not a good experience for us this morning. Last evening, we decided to give our business to a small business owner's restaurant for today and picked The Chef. We wanted something casual and quiet. The menu looked good with various selections to choose from. We have never been there before. First thing this morning, we googled the time it would be open. It said 11:00 am. We got there about 12:10pm. The place was locked, and nobody was inside. No signs were posted. We waited a little while, but we were hungry. Another couple drove up and tried to open the door but saw that they were closed and drove away. We decided to go next door to TFTS and eat there. Another couple came, and the man was irritated that The Chef wasn't open. They ordered at TFTS. When we were done eating, about 45 minutes later, we went next door again to check, but The Chef's place was dark and closed. So, that is that. I'm not sure we will be back. read more

I've been to this spot a few times while visiting Miami. This time around it was a little weird. So it was late and we know this spot is open and have had decent food when we've slid through. But this time things were off. I asked the homie if we could have crispy tacos and he said he can only make the chicken tacos crispy and not the beef ones. Which i thought was a bit weird but I was like whatever, we're hungry lol. I ordered the crispy chicken and the beef tacos and waited for our food. We took it home cuz it was late and we didn't want to sit and eat there. Once we got home we opened up the bag and it was crispy chicken tacos, but they were chicken tenders like inside a tortilla. Which was weird, and it didn't have any sour cream, which was also weird because the taco pic had sour cream in it. Anyway, i went and was excited for my beef tacos and my gf said, why does it look like it's one piece of meat? I thought maybe it's steak, like one big piece like the chicken. It was a burger patty in between a tortilla. Now i don't have anything against fusion but this definitely makes want the pic they had lol. That's just some weird combos, the menu didn't really have good descriptions of what was being served and it definitely didn't say half a burger patty in a tortilla lmao. The food was ok, it would have been better if we had been drinking and smoking maybe? But we don't do that, we were just hungry. I wish I could give yall a better rating tbh i know this place has been there for a hot minute and I remember when they had just took over with the name change. Not a bad place to grab a good bite to eat. Came here for a lunch break from Uber driving. Ordered the classic cheeseburger with fries. The burger was pretty good and prepared to my liking. Medium rare of course. The burger was put together very well and did not fall apart after each bite. Fries were pretty good as well as the service. read more

This place has been closed for 4 months and they are continuing taking orders as if they are.

I think I'll need to come back again to give this another try. I ordered the grilled mushroom burger, and it was more bread than anything else. I ended up eating it with only one bun. The fries were seasoned and okay. My boyfriend ordered the lamb gyro and said it was okay. I think this is one of those places that if you need something quick to eat right away, go for it. I wouldn't intentionally crave something (at least what I tried). read more

The chef is one of my late night goto restaurants. They have a ton of choices and actually pretty quick as well. Also, the food is really goo- much better than it was when they closed for remodeling. Came here and got the chicken gyro and chicken wings. The chicken wings were great. That's where the good news ends. The chicken gyro was horrible. I was so excited to find a good gyro near me, but that was such a let down. Came in on a Saturday, no one there except one guy working. I was the only customer there, ordered two things, and it took the guy almost half an hour to get them out. The chicken tasted like it'd been cooked, frozen, then reheated. No seasoning at all. The "tzatziki" sauce was grainy and barely had any flavor. Honestly the best thing about the gyro was the tomato in it. Do not come here if this is your "treat myself" night. After being a regular for over half a year I will not be going back here. A couple of days ago my boyfriend had trouble with our order and decided to leave a bad review. His name is Vuko and you can find the review on google for reference. The next day after the post, I Daniella (not vuko) got a phone call about it. It was the owner calling to argue with me about how "ridiculous" it was that Vuko would leave a one star review for something "so basic" as asking for a confirmation number. We understand that there's policy and that as far as the owner is concerned his employees always ask for confirmation numbers. This couldn't be further from the reality of what happens. They never ask for it. Never. Not when it's me not when it's him not when it's my friends or my neighbors. They just didn't want to give vuko the food and were making jokes about how he obviously wasn't Daniella and assumed he was an Uber driver. They assumed this with prejudice because of his accent. All for what? To give him the food anyways. In the end they gave him the food without the confirmation number. Not only was this phone call rude but it was redundant. They made my partner feel discriminated against for fun and then called to complain about why we left a bad review. The owner tried justifying the entire encounter when he didn't even want to hear our side of the story. I would've loved to explain what actually happened but he only seemed to care about what his employees had to say. Great customer service. A true American company. read more

We stopped because when we were driving past we saw a photo of Fries with chicken and feta on top and were instantly curious. Once inside there isn't much seating but there is outdoors and it's covered. It's a lot to pick from and honestly we picked from almost every menu except Italian and Sushi but we were pleasantly surprised by all the food. We like it ALL. We have no idea how it all came out so fast, we only saw one person working the restaurant and it really seemed fresh and was very tasty. We will be returning to try more options from the menu or ordering online as we live pretty close! The guacamole and chips are really good. I order the Pack Your Own Bowl only 5 percent of it had mac&cheese and it was not creamy at all. The tots were dry and it doesn't come the the cheetos dust but mine did no biggie but obviously. Also order was the Chili Con Queso. Stale and nor regular corn chips. It had a strange flavor. The cheese was obviously not from a jar not melted cheddar as described, the beef was not season. Only 1/3 was eaten was horrible . Later person had to run to the restroom. The third dish I didnt see what it look like but was told that it was not all that and person also had to go to the restroom after eating it. Fell into The Chef by accident, after we had trouble getting service elsewhere, and so glad we did. So many choices from 5 different areas of the world. We finally chose a Greek salad, which had plenty of feta cheese and a delicious lemony dressing, chicken gyro, cheese quesadilla, and non-traditional chicken fried rice, in that it had spicy Asian mayo which gave it a creamier texture and a nice kick. Everything was delicious. The owner,Theo, was very friendly and accommodating, and provided great service. We will definitely go back as there were lots of other items we wanted to try. read more

I have been trying to find a good restaurant that is open late other than fast foods such as Mcdonalds or Burger King. I stumbled upon the Chef a couple weeks ago and I have been coming back almost every night. The service is quick, the workers are very friendly, there is a clean and unique atmosphere, there is a variety of cuisines, and most important is that it opens late as I work till 1AM. In my experience, places with diverse menus usually struggle to really nail their food. This place is definitely the exception. I've been here twice now and had an excellent experience both times. Their quesadillas are some of the best I've ever had. Very impressed with the food so far, everything sees to be made to order and is worth the short wait. I found this place on Yelp when searching for somewhere open late night. They're open until 3am during the week and until 5am on Friday and Saturday! The menu consists of 5 different styles of food...Asian, Italian, burgers, Mexican, and Greek! It was fairly close to home so decided to give it a try. It was awesome! I had hard shell chicken tacos and my boyfriend had a chicken gyro with French fries. The chicken on both items was seasoned and cooked well, the French fries were crisp, and the tzatziki sauce was yum! We finished with a key lime which had a great balance of sweet and tart. Randomly found this spot that opened like 5 months ago. This is the perfect spot for a group of people that can't decide on one spot to get food from, everyone gets what they want. We got the truffle pizza which was good, the chicken fried rice was GREAT, the hard shelled chicken tacos were good the poke bowl was REALLY good! It's the perfect to go spot.
