Called at 11:15 am and was able to be seated at 12:30 pm appointment with Dot the same day. Dot was amazing!!!!! She listened to what I wanted and I had the best haircut that I have had possibly ever! What I like is that each hairdresser washes, cuts, and blow dries your hair and you pay them directly! Thanks Dot! Will be returning in the future. FYI: *$10.00 off for new clients on only the first visit. Here's an update to my last review; I didn't notice my husband got a haircut for 8 days. Chicago Buzz contacted me privately after my review, and asked if they could have a chance to cut my husbands hair again, at no charge. That is their written policy on the website, if you're not happy, they'll do the next cut free. So, we discussed if it was worth it, and figured they were really polite about responding to the criticism, as well as it wouldn't cost him anything for a second chance. We figured why not, it couldn't be worse, but 2 1/2 months past before his hair was long enough to be ready for his next cut. Today I said "Honey, are you ever going to get that haircut?", to which he responded, "I did last week". I think that everyone involved was afraid of cutting it too short, so in the end, it didn't look much different. But, after I looked harder, I did notice it was more textured. I'm upgrading the review to a 3 star review. Chicago Buzz tried to make things right, but I just don't think they're a good match. read more

You have to love a salon that makes you feel like a big shot. When I pay $38 for a haircut it feels like I am wearing a Rolex and drinking Fiji water. Only way this place could improve would be to charge $48. Then I would feel so much more hip. read more

I have been going to The Chicago Buzz for 6+ months now to get a haircut from Brittany, and I would definitely recommend her. She is very personable and always does a great job cutting my hair. It is great to be able to get my hair cut during the lunch hour at work and have some enjoyable conversation as well. When someone says "I don't want it short" and they only have approximately 2 inches of hair, that shouldn't suggest for you to cut 1 1/4 inches off. Regret stepping foot in here. Walked in at 8:30 when they open and they told me to come back in an hour when the first stylist would show up. Also, when you cut my hair too short, and it starts spiking up - don't try to sell me your product to help "texturize it". Save your bs for your mother. If you followed _simple_ instructions, my hair wouldn't be spiking up. I never write reviews. This place really set me off. First and last time here, definitely, without a doubt. Come here every 5 weeks to get the ears lowered. Not inexpensive, but not too bad. I always was a Great Clips guy for a while, but when I got my hair cut here, my wife said I have to keep going. I do. And I like the cut, can usually get in same-day, and have found some hair cutters I really like. I keep going back for a reason! read more

I emailed them first for recommendations, and proceeded to book my appointment online with Nora for the following day. Convenient location, friendly staff, and easy to schedule appointments. My man Maj always hooks it up. He's extremely friendly and affable, making it easy to establish a rapport. While it is a little more than I'm used to paying for a hair cut, I still think it's a great deal. You're in the middle of the Loop, about an eight iron north of the Sears Tower, so that alone accounts for a lot of the price. Most importantly though, they do good work. The haircuts are always thorough, and if you're polite you can come back half-way to your next cut and get the back of your neck cleaned up. The salon is as cool as the stylists and while some may scoff at the price tag [currently $38, which includes shampoo, cut and style] it's on par with what any other salon would charge, but make no mistake, this is a salon, not a barber shop. I've been going here monthly for four years now, and I have always been very happy. Mabel does a great job and always gets my hair right. As styles have changed, she has adapted with those styles.
