7 piece chicken nugget combo with spuds
    Ray N.

First time trying this place after talking with a few coworkers who talked about their chicken nuggets and the valley sauce which seems to be popular with everyone. Decided to come in for an early dinner and there were a few patrons. Soon as I came in, someone went to the register to take my order : Decided to try the 7 piece chicken nuggets with spuds and valley sauce. Came out to $15.67 with a self serve drink. Waited a good 7 minutes for my meal so that must mean it was cooked to order. Chicken nuggets - large size nuggets , meaty. Nice coating. Typical country batter- not peppery or salty. It definitely was enhanced by the valley sauce. Valley sauce - had a relish, Dijon taste to it. A bit sweet. But I liked it. The spuds - (side I chose)- 4 potato wedges that were battered. It was good with the valley sauce and filling. The biscuit came with butter. Golden brown and you can tell they made it at the restaurant. Overall, I enjoyed my meal. Customer service was 5 star. The place inside was clean. Definitely would go back and try next time their chicken combo.

I love Chicken Barn! Prices for nuggies can be a little much some times but they have TWO deal days for them so it makes up for it mmmm

I always see a line here so decided to go through the drive through. It was about an hour before closing and they mentioned they were out of certain items. Prices were decent. Drive through was quick. Chicken was tasty and crunchy. The sides were satisfying but not unique. I'd return if i was in the area and craving chicken, but otherwise I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here

Chicken Nuggets meal is the way to go!!

We used to go here back when the kids where little but had not been here in a while. With our daughter and husband in tow we decided to try it again and see if the chicken sandwiches would be good. The sandwiches were ok the Nashville sauce was a sweet and spicy so that was good but not great. I really enjoyed the spuds those where really good but surprisingly the nuggets where fantastic. I will come again for those with some spuds and the biscuits were also delightful . Good service and clean dining room. Solid 3.5 for the food and 4 for service, cleanliness and vibe.

It's been a loooooong while since I have had chicken barn. So, decided to have lunch there. Dylan was very nice and even checked on us during our meal. We came in for the Sunday Special; 5 nuggets, a side, a drink and a sauce for "$10.05". The food came out really quick and was barely warm. I was disappointed; as I have always had a fresh meal when I come in. Maybe we will get them hot on another day.

Absolutely no complaints. The chicken is so soft and tender with lots of flavor and my favorite are the spuds. Every time I drive to Modesto, the chicken barn is the place that I will always visit to pick up my order. The service is great. The price is great. The restaurant is clean. The restrooms are clean. Nothing but a great review. PS don't forget to take your crystal hot sauce and lemon

When they do it right it is the best However...they have not been getting it right for a few years. We stop going, then hope it's better and try again, stop, go again, like we did today. Awful!! Hard tiny potato wedges and dry as can be, nnuggets. We keep hoping one day it will be great again!

The first time we came, it was just after this reel went semi-viral so there were a bunch of people lined up. Upon entering, the staff immediately let us know they were having issues with the kitchen and that they had no idea when it would be back up. We decided to leave and return another time. The second time, I made an online pre-order. I decided to get the meal deal for 4 (and a separate order of the blueberry biscuit fried chicken sandwich) for the most variety. This deal includes: - Chicken Option: 8 pc tenders, 16 pc wings, or 16 pc nuggets. I went with the 16 pc wings. They were heavily battered, and the wings were cooked through and still juicy. I wasn't too wowed by them though. - 2 Sides: I went with the honey mustard pasta salad and chipotle potato salad. The pasta salad was soggier than expected, but flavors of both were pretty good. Chipotle potato had a nice kick. - Loaded Wedges: This was literally a potato quartered into 4 wedges. Tastewise, I really liked the seasoning they used on the potato though. I didn't care for the loaded part (cheese, bacon bits, green onion). - Choice of 5 sauces: Personally, the best part of the meal. Their sauces are on point. I went with the strawberry heat, pineapple pepper, XXX, fuego, honey mustard (accident; I wished I had gotten the hot honey blueberry bbq instead). - 4 Can Drinks: Cool I guess, but wished the deal was focused on the food options. The separate blueberry biscuit with chicken was also only just OK. The biscuit wasn't fluffy or buttery and the blueberries were there visually only (barely any blueberry taste). The chicken was fine and not dry at least! The wait the second time around also wasn't bad. I scheduled a 12:15PM order, and I think I got my food about 15-20 min later. Overall, it was a good one-time try!

Hot fresh chicken! That's what separates Cane's from KFC or…read moresome of the burger joints or frankly homemade Tyson nuggets. It's the "made to order" hot fresh chicken, unfortunately at this location now I've had two experiences that lead me to believe that this Motto has been lost on the management at this location.. I work in Modesto, but I live in Manteca, at least once a month on a Friday or Saturday night, my wife and I go to Manteca to a very busy Cane's location. Sometimes we wait 10-15 minutes but the chicken comes back piping hot and crispy. The bread is hot. The fries are crispy warm . Eventhough at my age, I don't need the calories, It's a special treat, I look forward to after working hard all week . On two occasions however, my patience was lacking and I stopped by the Modesto location . This last time I walked in ordered a box combo went to wash my hands literally 15 seconds later it was sitting on the counter that should've been my first clue. The chicken was warm, but not the usual hot chicken and it was oily and the oil kind of tasted a little bit rancid like it had been not changed in the appropriate time. The french fries were cold and limp and the bread was well. Just soft tepid Texas toast. Against my better judgment I continue to eat the chicken, hoping maybe the next piece would prove the last tender aberrant. Alas, I was wrong, but I could not help but to let the very nice people who work there, including the manager know that I felt that this was not made to order nor was it fresh and maybe it was left over from someone else's order or reheated. It would be physically impossible to make it fresh to order when it was boxed up on the counter in 15 seconds. Of course the manager proceeded to gaslight me and say they saw me coming through the parking lot, but I could've been ordering a sandwich or a drink. I admire their courtesy and professionalism, but just admit the truth. It was a slow day, which itself is unusual and maybe it result of others experiencing the same at this location. Needless to say, the moral of the story is : go on a very busy Friday night, ro a busy location where they have no choice, but to make your chicken to order as they are running behind. True Cane's chicken is worth the wait. I hope this is not a sign of the times. A prelude of what's to come with soaring inflation and high food prices. But I know Cane's has a winning formula and the good news is if this particular owner and management take pride in their work all will be good again with just three words: Hot fresh chicken! , I lied three more words, change the oil!.

I was excited when I found The Bussdown on Instagram last year and have been waiting in anticipation to try their food ever since. I noticed they started posting on their feed again and was excited when they announced that they'd be open from 2pm-7pm. I attempted to call in my order but had no response. Determined to try it, I drove to their site and saw they were still taking orders, so I got in line. When it was my turn to be helped, I was informed their fryers were down. They had other options, so I ordered the brisket, candied yams, + mac and cheese, and for dessert, caramel biscoff banana pudding. The total came out to $31. The lady that took my order said it would take about 20 minutes. 40 minutes later she informed me that they were just finishing up with my order, but they ran out of caramel for the dessert. When I finally got the food 5 minutes later, I took it to my car and gave it a try. I was disappointed off the bat. Apart from the food being lukewarm/on the colder end, I felt like the price I paid was not worth what I got. The Mac and cheese was not like anything I've tried before. It tasted like it had gorgonzola cheese which was not what i had expected/enjoyed. I thought the yams were tasty but lacking a punch. The brisket was tender but either needed to be seasoned a bit more or have more bbq sauce. The biscoff banana pudding was primarily Bananas, whipped cream, biscoff cookie and butter with a little bit of banana pudding. I really wanted to like the food but was disappointed with the whole experience.
