I finally made the drive to Downey to try this chicken spot I have been eyeing for monthsssss! Their parking lot is located in the back of the restaurant as street parking appears to be limited. They As we are a primarily chicken household, I brought my family with me to try their chicken plates and creative chicken plates. My first initial thought walking into Chicken Koop is that it has calm party vibe... the reason I say this is because through our whole time in the restaurant, they were playing a lot of my favorite songs. For a second, I thought my phone had connected to their speakers, lol! Pictured below is the Fried Chicken Sandwich and the 1/2 Roasted Chicken Plate. The Friend Chicken Sandwich was so juicy and flavorful; the breaded chicken patty had a perfect crunch to it. The 1/2 Roasted Chicken Plate was also another delicious and great choice. The chicken was cooked perfectly- again no dry chicken and it was juicy w a crunchy outer skin. The Brussels sprouts can out perfectly as well.

I've seen this place for awhile. Decided to take wifey out. We came in for happy hour. Our waitress disclosed everything as soon as we sat down. Everything we got was good. Margs were good price all other drinks were $2 off. After, we paid I saw some of cocktails were charged reg price and our waitress refunded the difference back. She was nice the whole time. She told us her name at the beginning but I can't remember it at the moment. Inside is a little small, outside might be a little bit bigger.

Yelp fam! I made it to the Chicken Koop! I've been waiting to come here. The atmosphere wasn't bad but seemed not as kept up as I would have hoped for. Kind staff friendly service. Came here with my wife our daughter and her girlfriend who invited me and my wife to celebrate my birthday that just past. Excited to be here! We started with Bloody Mary and some Margarita flights which were not bad but was hoping for agua fresca for appetizers we had the fried pickles which were well seasoned and crispy, hummus and veggies, crispy onion rings and the esquite all very flavorful! I had the Belly Buster chicken sandwich with waffles as buns!! Added jalapeño Mac and cheese so delicious with garlic fries!! My daughter ordered the fried chicken sandwich and so did my daughter's girlfriend my wife ordered the garlic chicken plate super tender and flavorful and loved it!!

I would like to start and say the vibes are really cozy and pretty. And the service was nice was very informative and attentive. The food for me personally was very overwhelming . I believe their signature sauce was on everything and that was a lot to digest . Maybe if the sauce came on the side I would like it more. I would give them another try cause the flavor is there; it's just too much. They have a lot of deals ; and huge margaritas options

Yummmy, tasty and colorful! Food selection is vibrant and plentiful. First time trying this place. I ordered the roasted chicken plate with 2 sides and 2 sauces plus pita bread. The rice is just plain white rice so skipped on that. For sides, got the jalapeño mac and cheese and the cucumber salad. Regretfully, I wish I got different ones. The mac was meh, nothing special. It looks better in photos than it tasted. The cucumber salad was alright. I wouldn't get it again. I was hoping it would be more like a Greek/Mediterranean cucumber salad. Wish they had tabouleh! Anyway, never getting those sides again! What I should have gotten was the potato salad and something else like hummus. Oh well. My friend's roasted chicken was fall off the bones. Mine wasn't so much, I had to tug at it but the chicken is flavorful and worth the order. Upgraded to butter garlic seasoning. Must do the upgrade. Wish it was more garlicky! The dip sauces chosen was chimichirri and garlic spread. Both very yummy. Service was great. Available and easy to get their attention. My biggest complaint is that my half roasted chicken came with a quarter of the chicken skin ripped off. We all know roasted chicken needs to have skin intact because that's where the flavor is concentrated. I felt cheated! I love skin too so it happened to the wrong person - ME! Boooo.

I absolutely love brunch and this may just become a staple in my book. My friends and I were seeking to try something new and I had been hearing about this place for quite some time. They have bottomless mimosas so I already knew I was going to enjoy myself. I got a chicken quesadilla with fries, one of my friends got chicken sliders , and plantains , another friend got taquitos and chicken wings. Everyone was pleased with their meal. However, I will say if you are a saucy lady like myself , add pico and chimchurri sauce to the quesadilla- it's a little dry without them. I believe our serves name was Maria, she did a fabulous job, and it was her birthday! They played music , loud enough to have conversation and still be able to sing. Overall, we had a great time and will be returning .

If you love all things chicken and looking for some fun tasty drinks, this is the place! This is also a good spot for large groups. There's seating indoors with a bar area and outside seating in a "covered" area. They have an extensive menu of items featuring chicken and a lot of it looks really good. The plates that were coming out do the kitchen were loaded. We ordered some fried chicken sliders with their habanero sauce , a small chicken pozole, and a chicken Al pastor taco. The tangy creamy slaw on the slider was a nice balance to the heat of the sauce, chicken also had a nice crunch. The small pozole is plenty and comes with onions cabbage radish on the side. Then u dress it all up with lime and ground red chile paste. Packs serious heat but also flavor! Made that pozole pop. The Al pastor seasoning on the chicken for the taco is good and great pairing with the pineapple (rightfully so) So far so good on the chicken items. We did also order fried but they arrived cold and were pretty bland. Oh the cucumber agua Fresca is refreshing and sweet. Although it was a busy Sunday morning , service did not lack. You can pay your bill at your table with the server, which is quick and convenient. Parking in their small lot can be tricky though.

Came in during a slower time and got seated right away. We chose to sit outside -- the setup and design are beautiful, giving off perfect brunch or date spot vibes. I ordered the Popcorn Chicken appetizer and the Breakfast Sandwich (with fries on the side to share). The food was excellent. The breakfast sandwich was a little messy from the sauce but packed with flavor -- solid 9/10. The popcorn chicken was GREAT, crispy with a nice kick of spice, served with pickles and sauce, and a generous portion size. Our server, Adriana, was amazing -- super friendly, helpful with recommendations, and checked in on us consistently. Service like that really makes a difference. Overall, this place is a 10/10 for me. Great food, great service, and a relaxing atmosphere. Also noticed their bar setup -- big craft drink selection that looks worth coming back for. Definitely will be returning soon!

the Downey Supper Club met and enjoyed food and service on Tuesday the 10th of March. we were a large group of about 40 people. we were seated on the patio and took up the entire space. there were multiple servers to assist our large group. the service was friendly and efficient. the food was super yummy: i didn't hear a negative thing from anyone in the group. the check out was super easy with their digital terminals, so there was no problem with 15 to 20 separate checks. this was our first time here but we would defiinitely return for the service and yummy food: and so should you

3.5 stars. We were greeted and seated right away. The outdoor space is very nice and I'm sure would be very comfortable in a variety of weather as it is screened in. I was surprised and pleased to see a full bar, even though I didn't have a cocktail on this visit. I had the esquites with shredded chicken and my husband had the Grumpy Chicken sandwich. The food had good flavour, although they initially forgot my shredded chicken; and my husband wished his fries were hotter. Other than that, and waiting too long for the check, service was fine. I would definitely come back.

We love Chicken Koop's popcorn chicken but the portions are getting skimpy. I understand times are rough.... But the portions have gotten smaller and smaller. We always go and get the same thing, popcorn chicken. We understand it's an appetizer so I don't expect a meal but I also don't expect a couple of pieces. Charge more and keep the portions how they were. I got 3 orders and this is what we got. I paid 32.97 plus 15% tip for this to go order. I'm very disappointed as the flavor and chicken is good but for this amount of food... nope. It happened a month ago when we also ordered to go but we gave it another shot because I understand things happen but this is the norm now.
