I used to really like this place due to the great beer selection they had, however the ambiance has become more of a dive bar. The bathrooms have a rotten stench to it. Their beer selection just isn't what it used to be. The owners/managers have always been friendly, but unless you're buying multiple beers while you're there, they appear annoyed to be serving you instead of their friends. read more

Visited this place to see a friend of our perform here and it was a nice cozy place where they had some good deer selections and great atmosphere! Their customer service was great and very attentive and great with recommendations you might enjoy. If in the area, this is definitely a cool hangout! They don't serve food, but they allow you to order food from restaurants next door which they have a few options right next door in the same retail space which we didn't try but other said the food was good. read more

An incredible locally owned tap room. They have a wonderful selection of brews, many regional, that are rotated often. They have several "event" nights that are great fun. They don't serve food but there are several food places adjacent that will sell you takeout which you are encouraged to bring in and enjoy with your brew. So I have always been looking for my very own "Cheers" type bar. Don't get me wrong, they don't shout your name as you walk in, but what they DO do (hee hee(doodoo)hee hee) is remember their customers likes and dislikes. Willie and Claire almost always have a couple IPAs, porters, or my fav, sours to suggest. I'm not sure if they have a little Jedi blood or what, but they have literally NEVER steered me wrong. Now, about the beers... it's hands down, the best selection and variations in Chico. Hell. Maybe in all of Nor Cal! Another great thing I've been using more of lately are the apps. They are on both Untapped and Digital Pour. Now before I even go, I can see what new stuff has just been tapped or find out how much is left of my obsession of the week (RIP Triple Haole Punch. Our time was much too brief). Next, is what they DONT offer. You want a burger? Go to Macdonald's. You want a Chocolate Martini? Well God help you... This place is for BEER drinkers and is owned by beer geniuses. Full disclosure--They do keep menus of all the restaurants in the Almond Orchard and encourage people to bring in and wash it down with, I don't know, maybe a beer? So you've got a Pho place a Chinese place, Mexican, and Round Table, etc. Plus, if you ask nicely, they keep bags of chips behind the bar. Today I ordered some flamingo swag off Amazon. It wasn't because of my fetish for long legged pink birds though. Well, maybe a little...Mostly though it was because every Friday they run a great promotion. Anybody wearing flamingo garb gets 10% off their bill as well as a flamingo bottle opener. How can that be anything short of awesome, and today I got to get a pic posted to their Instagram page of me holding the Keg Killer trophy for, you guessed, killing the last of a keg. They also have a pretty epic game room with all the staple bar games. I personally dig the super sized version of Jenga that they have, although if you haven't guessed by now, I'm usually there for the beer. Let's see, what am I forgetting? Beer...Digital Pour...beer...food...Jenga...Keg Killer...excellent selection and knowledge. Oh yeah! They also have a super nice outdoor patio area so you can take your beer for a walk. Look. This place started off trying to just be a good neighborhood taproom for people who like lots of different kinds of high end beers for a decent price, and somewhere along the way turned into a completely awesome one. I could probably keep rambling on about how great they are, but I'm suddenly feeling parched so I'm just going head down there now. I love how low key and hidden this spot is compared to other tap rooms. The selection is huge and they carry lots. They even have kombucha on tap :)). The bar tenders are kind of a hit or miss but from my initial experience pretty chill. They have a small patio area outside. The cons are that they dont have much seating out there for the amount of space they have. The seating outside us also a tad bulking and no cohesive with the indoors. A plus is that they have screens all around in a horseshoe shape so you can order anywhere or check the menu easy. Price is pretty standard as well. The cool thing is that the back room has games to play so if that is your go to def check it out. I forgot what snacks they had but its def more than the usual peanuts. Super awesome lol Its located in a rather not busy shopping plaza so shopping isn't an issue. Another downside that is not the businesses fault is that I consistently saw police cars circling the lot and waiting a few doors down from the entrance of the place. I definitely do not condone drinking and driving but I do think the amount of police traffic in the parking area is excessive and not normal. I def love also how it's right by the highway and not downtown or in the beverage district. Makes it convenient. read more

Great brewery in an unsuspecting part of town. I tried this place out with a friend the last time I was visiting Chico. It's in the tidy but tired Almond Orchard shopping mall which, until this place's opening, was only good for a few decent shops. I enjoy the location as it caters to the north Chico crowd. I know that nearby Pour House sort of dominates the area so it's nice to have this spot as a second option to get away from the general craze. The taproom is rather large which I wouldn't have suspected from the storefront. There are a few extra rooms for seating, in addition to the bar. One of the rooms has a variety of fun billiard-style games. I went in the evening and can't recall whether or not there was patio seating. The beer selection is impressive with a number of local craft varieties. I enjoyed the wraparound bar in the main room along with the friendly, focused service. The one downside was the very bright lighting, although it may be appealing to some. All in all, a nice local spot. I will be sure to check them out the next time I'm in the area. read more

Ok so this is exactly what Chico has been missing for years. Chico Taproom is located in the strip mall along side Gingers & Round Table Pizza. It's an odd spot but the inside is spacious and open. Plenty of tables and bar seats make it great for big groups. They also had several CIDERS on tap, a must for any bonafide taproom in my opinion. They also had several table top games as well as ping pong and giant jenga in the back room. The staff were knowledgeable and willing to give samples of anything you wanted try. The place cleared out by around 11 PM on a Saturday, but didn't close until midnight so depending on your scene you can arrive either earlier when it's more crowded or wait it out. Would absolutely be back and would recommend to friends and family in the area who want a solid place with friends and want to avoid he masses of college students downtown. read more

Great taproom on the north side of Chico!! Great selection with something for everyone. They keep their keg lines super clean, and have a great dishwasher that sanitizes the glasses. You'll never get a dirty glass or bad taste from dirty tap lines. Love the U-shaped bar setup. Plenty of room to belly up for a drink. They also carry a solid selection of local canned/bottled beers. Plenty of food selections close by, so you can eat a meal while drinking. Most places even deliver. This is the best place to grab a craft beer in town. I love this place and highly recommend stopping in and checking it out. read more

Definitely a fan of this new taproom! It's close to my house which is a major plus, and they have a ton of beers on tap. They allow you to bring in food (whether it be from home, take out, delivery, etc.) and they have a really great game selection. A lot of bar seating as well as bigger tables for groups. Their outdoor patio isn't open yet but they said it would be within the month and dogs are allowed out there when the time comes! read more

Sierra Nevada Brewery is not the only reason to consider Chico a beer mecca. Chico Taproom is a hidden gem, and was conveniently located near my hotel on a recent business trip. I only had beers, but the selection was amazing. The bartender was friendly, knowledgable, and graciously pointed me towards some beers that I wouldn't easily find in my state. The only downside Chico Taproom has is that it's not in my hometown! A must if you're visiting Chico. And, if limited time only allows you to choose between the brewery and Chico Taproom, I recommend Chico Taproom. read more

What a great addition to Chico! The Chico Tab room offers a wide selection of beers on tap! All fabulous and yummy! I like non IPS's and they had several to choose from! The Fifty Fifty from Truckee at 8.7% is exactly what I like! My husband is an IPA fan and enjoyed ( just one for him!) the Wildcard Crowd Pleaser! The owners are also Warriors fans and the TV set up is great! The bar has all the neighbor restaurants menus that are happy to feed you!! Come check this place out!! read more

Went for the first time last night with my husband. They have a great selection of beer on tap. For those that have trouble reading the menu download the app. I asked one of the staff in a black shirt, no hair if there were menus to look at for a beer list. He was pretty snarky telling us to download the app! Not a great first impression. Then we asked about food, and he gave us the run down telling us that you can order from any of the places around there and they will deliver it. I don't know if he was having a bad day but he wasn't helpful with the beer selection at all! We finally met the owner and the other staff members in the flamingo shirts. They were great to deal with! Very friendly! My husband and I tried to not deal with the other guy as much as possible. We had Mexican food from next door and that was good.The foosball table and shuffle board table we're fun to play! I would give this place a second chance. read more

Absolutely love this spot. They have 40 beers/ciders on tap with an amazing selection. I love their menu which shows type, percentage, Ibus, etc. the owners and staff and friendly and knowledgeable. There is a ping pong table in the back, board games and it's between two awesome restaurants that you can eat food from while in the taproom. Highly recommend!! read more

They don't serve food, but welcome food brought in from any of the four restaurants (Mexican, Asian, Vietnamese, pizza) in the shopping center to enjoy with your beverage selection. Or you can bring in whatever from home or any other takeout. Very unique in this regard. Extremely friendly staff happy to describe each beer. If you wish, they will pour you a small sample so you can make the best selection for your taste. Sports large screen TVs often playing. The brews offered change frequently and are listed on several large screen TVs. . Can see myself spending much more time here with friends. My only complaint is that the text is pretty small on the screen that tells you what beers are available but other than that I love this place! read more
