I placed an order online to be picked up at the West Covina store. I was not able to pick it up due to me being sick and then having to have an emergency surgery. I called the location and asked if someone else could pick it up since I couldn't and that's when I discovered the order was cancelled. I was extremely disappointed because I wasn't notified and the reminder emails did not tell me it would be cancelled by a certain date, which I thought would have been helpful being that I was going through tough circumstances. I expressed my concerns to Anna (the manager) and she did help me by pulling the items again and giving me the same rate I originally purchased them for. They also allowed for someone else to pick them up. I really appreciate her taking the time to do this as I know it's out of normal procedure. Please consider including the cancellation date on the reminder emails and text messages and it wouldn't hurt for the stores to call directly to remind. There was a line of 20 of us and Carolina (if she's the manager) was just staring at the line and playing with her hair and nails. Pleasant experience from the minute I walked in. I was greeted with friendless and smiles . The atmosphere was welcoming and was helped with multiple questions . The place is clean and organized. Associate Anamarie was a big help while looking for selected items , she had so much patience and was willing to satisfy my needs . I order some polo shirts for my kids, got my order super late like 15 days late and when i finally got my order all the shirts were bad quality. So I went to return them and one of the shirts didn't have a tag so they didn't want to give me a refund nor store credit nothing. We walked in and this sweet lady greeted us with a smile and was showing us around, super nice I was happy not until we decided to pay and the girl on register didn't even say hi or looked at us , so I was like "I'm ready to pay" and was like I'm helping someone else and I looked around and I see nobody and I was like ok fine ! Than later a lady shows up and it was a worker the one who the cashier was helping so I decided to wait, while waiting me and my man look at each others like what the h''' They were having a conversation and giggling like I wasn't there waiting for a whole as minute, I was super upset cuz I have a toddler and 1 month old baby while these two ladies were just gossiping. I went in for a return on 5/8/23 for online return. First off I wasn't greeted when I was in line and when I was helped no greeting. When placing an online order they require you to adopt in the one line to check out full of shoppers over 20 minute wait time with only 1 worker on a Sunday . Should definitely at least have 2 people checking out on the weekend . I went to checkout and a black lady rung me up. She was mumbling and asking me what I thought at that time if I wanted to open account and asked me to enter my email. When I did, she told me not account found. I told her I don't have an account. She told me she had already asked me if I had an account earlier but her tone was super rude.. I apologize and said I couldn't hear her correctly. My friend checked out before me as well and she wasn't exactly polite to her as well. Now I see why all the children place are going out of business. Try to hire more polite and respectful staff and maybe the business will get better. Worst customer service I have ever received by the manager Monique and Annamarie and the heavyset girl that worked with both this evening but flipped her badge so I couldn't see it. I walked in with an exchange they talked in the corner for maybe 10 mins then decided to help me. They said they could only exchange my item for the same item just a different size . Not a problem that's what I would like to do I tell her there aren't any nearby stores and I would rather not drive to Citadel for a pair of shirts I ask if she can order them online. She(Annamarie) says no problem. She informed me that I had rewards I say ok cool I'll use them for these shirts it's a separate purchase. She charged me at the end but only a few dollars so I assumed it had something to do with not having the receipt. Why 2 cashiers were required is beyond me, one was discussing with the customer the return policy while the other just stood there and nodded. Instead of looking over and helping me, she continued to stand there and be useless. I even inched up to try to get her to notice that there were other people in line that she could be helping. She noticed, glanced up, and looked back at the customer that she wasn't even helping. Greatly irritated at this, I stormed out of the store. Dirtiest retail store I've ever been in. I wasn't greeted when I walked in. No one offered to help my daughter and I although we were the only people in the store. There were products and clothing and shoes all over the floor and the counters. The dressing room was filled with trash (see photos). One girl ended up calling another location for us to see if they had something that this location didn't while the other girl talked loudly on her cell phone the entire time. I walk in the morning when the store is closed and when you look into the window it's so messy and dirty. Closed always stacked up never in a clean pile, clothes on the floor, trash stacked up in the back of the store. While I really enjoy The Children's Place clothing selection, it is not worth navigating through products that are falling off the tables, not recovered or sized and thrown on the floor. When I visited the store it was not busy Both employees did not greet me, and continued chatting amongst themselves. I have noticed a common thread between The Children's Place locations I have visited. While the selection, quality and pricing on the items are very reasonable I do not think it is wise to have a bunch of very young adults running the store in a sloppy manner. It is like the inmates are running the prison. The store is very well named 'The Children's Place' because the children are running the store. I really used to love getting my girls clothes here. Overall the clothes are cheap, trendy, and well, kiddish...I can't stand places that sell adult clothes in mini sizes (i.e., bikini cut kid "panties"), but that's a story for another day. Anywho, I digress, The Children's Place sells suitable kids clothes. However, the exchange I had with a manager there gave me a couple gray hairs. The story goes as follows. I went into the store on a Tuesday, noticed a really good sale, bought a couple items and texted a friend about it. We made plans to come back the next day. It just so happens that my little girl wanted to wear her new dress to go shopping on Wednesday, so I put it on, with matching tights, adorable shoes, hair all done up with matching hair ties. So we are in there doing some serious shopping...stacking piles of clothes and hangers on my stroller. I wasn't too sure if a certain skirt would fit, so I had my girl try it on under the dress. We did this in plain view, and put it back on the hanger and in our pile once we were done. So we go to pay, the total comes to $108. Then, here it comes, the manager who was ringing us up says ok, now I need the tag from the dress. I was like huh? At this point, I was naive to the fact that she was accusing me of stealing a $12 dress, when I had just dropped over a hundred bucks there. Then it dawns on me... I was like what? wait! No, I bought that dress yesterday, thus the matching accessories. The manager replies, oh cuz one of the girls saw you try it on. I said no, we tried on the skirt we just purchased. She said, oh ok. So we walked out and as i reached the door I asked my friend to watch the girls because I need a word with this evil sea witch...and I am not big on having it out in front of the little ones, it's not a good example. So anyway, I got the number to the corporate office...and the manager apologized that I got offended. Never once did she apologize for embarrassing me and handling the situation horribly. Basically, what she was saying was that she was sorry that I got offended by her horrible behaviour. As I walked out another customer stormed out with me and told me that I should call corporate and she couldn't beeelliieve how I was treated and she also had bad mojo with this manager. I will never ever go back to this store...in fact I will probably never step foot into another Children's Place again. Now I give my business to Gymboree, Target and Macy's for the girls!! read more

Ok. I have 3 kids and have shopped here a lot and been to their other locations as well. Service is good considering most of the time there is only 1 or 2 employees working when I shop. Most of the small stores in this mall only have 2 employees. That is how retailers keep the prices low. I used to work in retail so I know. I have been in a situation where the computer froze and the cashier was new so she asked for a manager to help her out. It does looked bad from other customers point of view seeing 2 cashiers assisting one customer but sometimes they don't have a choice. I normally do my shopping in the morning when my kids are in school and the store usually looks clean and organized and most of all, short lines in the register. read more
