Definitely check their website or your app if there's any local coupons for this location, great to stack on top of whatever discounts they already have or just to get a discount in general. There's always sales at Michael's which I love as a cosplayer and someone who does some arts and crafts for some projects and gifts for others, it's a great stop. This one is slightly more out of the way for me, but there's plenty of parking and is a decently sized Michaels location. Again, with every location, you better start shopping for seasonal and holiday things around 2 months before it actually happens because the closer to the actual holiday, it'll be mostly gone and they're already stocking items for the next major season or holiday 2 months away. Maybe a month from the holiday there's turbo sale on those items. Love doing Black Friday shopping here too, crazy discounts. Definitely double check that, super cheap. This store isn't as disorganized or disheveled as some other stores can be. It can be a wait to check out though even with self check out and the staff that they have there, so keep that in mind. I sometimes get spray paint for cosplay, so you gotta ring someone to assist you, so even more of a wait. read more

Terrible customer service. This entire store needs basic training on customer service. I came to this location on the morning of Valentine's Day (Saturday) to get a few things. It being a weekend and a holiday you would think that the store associates would have at least a slight awareness of increased sales and a sense of urgency. You would be wrong. There was a middle aged blonde with glasses in particular, I'm assuming she was the shift leader or manager, who was a master at looking busy but not actually doing anything. As the checkout line increased, and the two other associates already on a cashier getting swamped, she could have easily jumped in to help in any way (I.e fill up balloons which 95% of people in line were waiting for) and she did not. She didn't even bother to lift a finger to do anything productive. Instead she stood in front of the long line of customers, played with a bunch of go back items, and then disappeared to the back of the store when a friend/family came to visit her (I know this because someone called her over the PA system that she had a visitor). She left the front checkout area and could be heard going on about a conversation with her visitor and laughing, all the while doing exactly nothing to help the customers who by this time had already been waiting in line probably longer than they spent browsing the actual store. When she arrived back to the checkout line she again proceeded to NOT help and went on about looking busy while not actually doing anything. The other two younger ladies in the front who were working the registers each said something to her in passing (I assume it was to ask for help or indicate they needed help in some way) but she dismissed the two younger ladies, continued to ignore the long line (more than 8 people at this point), and made no attempt to even hand me my balloons (5) which took more than 9 minutes to fill. Complete incompetence from the middle aged blonde with glasses. It's too bad that the younger ladies are working under this incompetent blonde. She should be removed from her position immediately as she clearly has not accumulated any BASIC skills despite having lived more than enough years to comprehend the most remedial skills one needs at any retail job. Simply put, keep an eye out for the incompetent blonde who brings no value to this location and who, I would argue, actually hurts this location as she is clearly in some sort of leadership position yet displays no skills whatsoever worthy of the position. read more

I honestly don't really leave reviews for regular bigger retail stores like this unless someone or some reason really deserves it. But the woman who helped us check out, her name was Holly, she deserves a raise for how she was working and handling that store! She was so kind and extra helpful to everyone. She helped us with our savings so we bought more rather than putting items back, and was patient but still worked quickly with us for the people next in line while she was the only one working the register before they were closing. So kind!!! Thanks to Holly this will be my go to craft store from now on!! She deserves the recognition for her customer service , I truly hope she gets that! I was in such a hurry that I forgot to check-in & since it's a new store to me, I couldn't locate where the pens were. A very tall young man (staff) helped me out. He was very courteous & friendly . I didn't get his name either. Found the silver & gold Sharpies for my paper crafting but they're locked. This kindly staff member opened & brought the markers to the checkout & rung be up. Yay! I redeemed my $5 reward which was expiring tomorrow. This store just happened to be on our way home & it was near closing time. I've been going to my local Michael's in Monrovia to purchase Ohuhu markers. They always price match their online price. Today I was in the area of Michael's West Covina, and I decided to check out their marker selection. I recently visited Michael's craft store, and I have to say that while it offers a wide range of art supplies, it left me with mixed feelings. Even with a 20% discount, the prices were noticeably higher compared to other stores like Hobby Lobby, Blicks, or carpe Diem. I purchased Winsor & Newton oil paints, brushes from the 3 series, sculpting wire, PrismaColor colored pencils, fine detail linseed oil, and a sketchbook, which added up to a hefty $145. It's definitely on the expensive side. I usually resort to Michael's when there are no other options, as I typically prefer to order from my favorite online stores due to the cost. Michael's is convenient for a quick shopping trip, but it can be tough on the wallet. I would recommend Hobby Lobby if you're close, but if you want professional quality Blicks, Art Center College of Design (My alma mater), or go online. read more

The one thing that ruin my shopping experience was the customer service we use self checkout, trying to use our coupons we ask for help because it showed up invalid and expires on 1/26/26 she's told us we had to call somebody in order for us to use the coupons or go back in line and the lady In the register should help us. But in a rude tone, not just with me and my sister, another client was also trying to use self checkout she asked the lady to login she told her no to go check the other self check out. read more

As I'm starting to get into my pandemic hobby I needed to grab a few craft supplies here. I've ordered both in store and online from here. Online is really convenient for if you already absolutely know which item, brand, color, etc. to get. Obviously you would go in person if you want to be able to see and feel the products first and compare them before purchasing. This location isn't as big as other Michael's locations that I've been to, and their stock is either a hit or a miss. Sometimes you may find what you're looking for, sometimes you don't because it's out of stock and the shelf is empty. I was looking for embroidery threads and a good chunk of the main basic colors were out of stock, which was something that I didn't see at my usual location. As far as covid regulations they supply hand sanitizers at the entrance right where you come in. Where you go to check out they place markers on the floor 6' apart so you know where to maintain social distancing. They also put up acrylic barriers between the customer and the register and all the employees are wearing masks. read more

Michael's needs to do a better job about being clear about their return policy on sale items. Putting"clearance sales are considered final sale" in faded tiny print on your receipt does not count as adequate notice to your customers that the item they are purchasing are not returnable. there should be a statement on the "yellow" percentage off sign that states the items are also "Final Sale". read more

Here's a little bit of my story. On the 18th of May I bought a singer HD 6700 c digital sewing machine and after 3 days of use, the machine went down and it tells me "El" on the digital display and it stops functioning every single time. So by the 25th I tried returning the machine with a receipt with the store manager. Many different times I went into the store that she needed permission from her manager/ head manager to return athe high price item. Well here we are June 3rd and yes I did contact corporate and yes I did complain believe it or not five different times through their website. And yes I've been complaining all over social media. I've been complaining and bad reviewing Michael's and I've gone to the better Business bureau. I've gone to the federal trade commission with them and they don't care about you. I'm stuck with a $315 door stop. I don't know how much more I can do the without getting an attorney over a simple $315 return. And by the way I was going to just buy another one when I returned it from them. So they've lost me as a customer and I hope everybody that reads this boycott's this company go look up their reviews, complaints and whatever you can get up on them. They got some legitimate lawsuits going on this year alone. Three from what I saw having to do with other things, bad customer service company. I am 100%disabled veteran and my wife is also a retired 80% veteran going blind and about to loose her current job and getting taken for $300 to us is a big deal! read more

I would like to apologize to the worker assisting me for crying. And for any trouble my daughter and I caused. I was trying to get in line but my 3year old daughter was throwing a fit because she thought we were going to leave. At this point there was no one next in line. A lady then started to get in line and I was trying to signal her that we were next. After the people at the register left. I asked the lady if we could be next and she told me "you weren't in line" so we got in line. It's not a big deal really, it's just I'm a newly single mom who just got out of a domestically abusive marriage. Restraining orders, police reports, etc. it all caught up to me emotionally. This store is located right off the freeway, but it can be tricky to get to due to street traffic and the maze to get to the store front which is in the far corner of the shopping area. The store is nicely organized. It is bright with wide aisles. Items are easy to find in the store and there are store associates easily identified to assist if necessary. There are all types of craft supplies and items available. There are also seasonal crafty items. There are children's crafts and small toys. There are also pre-made arrangements for sale. There are weekly sales that are advertised. There is also a weekly coupon available in their print ad and on the internet. It is highly recommended to use coupons for purchases when possible. There are a number of items that rarely go on sale or the sale is a low percentage, so the coupons come in handy. One last thing, don't come here if you are in a rush since their checkout is always super slow. read more

Service was extremely terrible and rude. Went today and saw an older lady trying to return something, most of management started ganging up on her. I saw she was trying to return an item, the employee "helping her" seemed to give a lot of attitude and didn't want to assist her with anything, the employee didn't want to search for an item the customer had to return. So the customer went to go find an item herself and show them that it was still in store. As she came back, what seemed to be the manager, employee, and other worker started raising their voices at the older woman and saying she needs to read the policy and being extremely disrespectful and humiliating the lady in public in front of us other customers. Been to this Michaels a few times. Located in the same plaza as Toys R Us, then across the street is a Edwards Cinema. Also, a few streets over is the West Covina Mall. This area is becoming busier and busier over the last few years with the new construction and new buildings completed drawing in the crowd. Always, a lot of parking during the weekdays. A sales lady " Liz "at the fabric counter was incredibly mean and cold. I wanted get a couple of yard of Easter Fabric but unfortunately there was only 37inches left. I thought she would just give me all but no! She was going to cut 1inch off. I said " Can you just leave it?" She said "NO, I need to charge you for it!" I was surprised and said "Wow, you have to cut exactly? not even a inch more?" Any fabric store always cut extra couple of inches for customers. If it was not the last piece, I would not say anything but it was the end piece. She probably throw away the piece but she said to me " it is not your business!" I stopped arguing with her. If I could give a 0 then I would. But this Michael's is by far one of the worst locations. The only reason I shop at this location is because it is the closest location to me. I gladly shop at other locations when I'm out in another area. Maybe like 2 regular staff members(can't remember their names) are very sweet, helpful, honest. But the management staff is some of the other staff members are rude and walk around not wanting to help. I have tried to stop so many managers, or staff, and as I am asking them a question they are completely walking away and telling me which aisle the item is on not bothering to think of I may need help with anything else. I just called to exchange a product purchased during a promotion and they did not bother to help me at all. Instead they said I can exchange the same item for the same EXACT item( no color change, no style change) the exact same item. If that's the case why in the hell would I want to exchange it for?! Instead they said I have to return it and re-purchase the new product and pay out of pocket. I used to work at Michael's and we never handled situations like this. We always tried to make things right with the customer by price overriding if it's the same item just in a different color. I ordered hard to find rubber 10mm orings. I never received an email saying my product was ready for in store pick up. I know it was ready when I got an email to review my product. I went to the store for pick up. There is no sign telling you where to pick up my purchase. I get in line at a register. They tell me it's in the back of the store by framing. I get back there and there is a sign but no one is there. There is a button you push fir assistance. We pressed 5 different times. No one cane to help. My husband had to walk around the store looking for some to help us. I finally had some one come out, they were calling out got an employee. They didn't address me, the customer. I asked "does anyone work here?" She said yes I'm trying to find them. She ask my last name and after a while someone comes out with a box for me. NO no hello, sorry for the wait, she just has me sign a clipboard and walks away, no thank you fir your purchase.....absolutely nothing! Well I'm done with Michaels! With so much competition out there you would think that Michaels would at least teach their employees some manners. read more

I just want to give a shout out to Nancy who facilitated the Kids Club art class yesterday. It was my first time attending and I will be sure to come back more times with my kids. The art projects are very cool but to have somebody who truly like kids, make the experience even better. She was encouraging, bubbly and respectful. Truly a gem for the Michael's family! This is quite possibly the worst Michael's I have ever been to. What a waste of time, gas, and energy. Tell me why I drove almost 10 miles to get here in search of a product. A product which I searched online and found that Michael's sold. It clearly stated MICHAEL'S "In store. Pick up today." I wasted gas driving over here to find 0 employees working on the floor. Only the one at the cash register. So I thought, "well let me search for this product myself." Didn't find it and when I asked the employee at the register where I could find it, she very rudely, with the biggest mean girl attitude I have ever heard, says "We don't sell that here." Like what?? Do I need glasses or something? Because what the hell Michael's. Why are you stating you sell something you don't? Is this a way for you to get people into your stores?? And why is no one working there?? No help, no one greeting anyone, not a single helpful person at your store. And I know why. Because you guys are so picky about who you hire. 5 stars for Marshall! Today Marshall helped me out. Marshall is the manager, but she should be the emperor of Michaels. She's great! I always get Excellent customer service from her. She's always upbeat, friendly, professional, patient and super helpful. She goes above and beyond to make sure the job gets done right! I wish every store had a "Marshall". The last few stores that I've visited this year all had rude and miserable chimpanzees and oragantans as the managers. It's nice to deal with friendly humans for a change.
