I absolutely LOVE Love love this school!! We pulled our daughter from another daycare and brought her here because we liked their programming and more experienced teachers/staff; and truthfully because they pray over meals and I really wanted to have her have that experiences outside of our home. The other school "seemed" more modern & had fancy video system (which was good when our daughter was little and couldn't verbally tell us about her day), but truly what i learned was a video doesn't stop a mean/scary teacher in action and you cant rewind. However, the children spot provides lots of picture it didn't have a camera to watch the children at home-- but you're welcomed to come & watch from their office if you ever want to come in (which i never needed to because the disposition of my child was better now) . My child is MUCH happier here & learning more here at the children spot. She does hands on activities, tracing & projects (besides coloring all day long as she seemingly did in the other school). She's in love with her teacher "Ms. Missy" and all the staff. I also love the various discounts they offer for military and educators. I highly recommend this place for any parent due to our amazing experience. read more

My husband and I spent four months touring daycare facilities (10 total sites toured between S. Arlington and Mansfield). We also reviewed the State of Texas inspection records and this daycare was one of the only facility in the area that had zero discrepancies in the last 3 years. We were having the hardest time deciding on a daycare because so many had strengths, but every one also has things we didn't like or would like to change. The Children's Spot was the very last facility we toured and we knew it was "home" for our child immediately. When my son met the teachers, he lit up. They made eye contact with him and spoke to him directly. We had toured other facilities that didn't even take the time to look directly at our baby (which I thought was strange!) They keep the ratio for every class strictly 1 to 4 and they separate the children into 6 month age spans until the age of 2 to keep students closer together in developmental advancements (0-6 months / 6-12 months / 12-18 months 18-24 months). They also start curriculum immediately and tailor programs to fit the needs of individual students. Each age block (infants / toddlers) has their own team lead teacher and floating teachers. The teachers communicate to the parents both in person and through an app. We get updates throughout the day with adorable photos of our baby playing, but also notifications when he's been fed, changed and napping. Our son has only been attending for one month, but consistently, every day when I drop him, off he lunges toward his teachers and grins from ear to ear when they take him from me. It makes it so much easier to leave him for the day when I see how excited he is to see his teachers. Initially, I thought this daycare was a bit pricey, but knowing that food and formula are provided throughout the day offsets the cost and reduces the amount of time it takes to get our family ready and our the door in the mornings as well. When we first moved to Mansfield I toured and interviewed several daycare centers. I spent hours reading reviews on childcare centers so I thought writing my experience with this particular center may be helpful to other parents. We have been coming to The Children's Spot for about a year now. I have nothing but positive things to say. The facility is very well maintained and clean. The Teachers are kind and have longevity there. There have been a few new faces here and there but overall they are very consistent and leadership has remained the same since we started. Mrs Debbie, Mrs Cheryl and Mrs. Becky are great! I have two "Schoolers" and one that receives "All-Day" Care. My older kids love that there are class pets (Guinea Pigs and Turtles) and they enjoy all of the games they have indoors and outdoors. They have a HUGE activity room for the After-Schoolers. Also during the summer they get to swim as the Children's Spot has an onsite pool. Throughout the year they do fun field trips when school is out. My youngest child who attends all day loves his teachers and he is learning Sign Language, Spanish, and Reading Skills. They have a multi-sensory learning approach. They have someone who comes and sings with the children, and even someone who comes and does stretches with them. The Teachers communicate with me during the day through an App so that I can stay involved and informed as well as see pictures of my baby. Leadership has an open door policy and someone is always there to address any concerns. They are very "by-the-book" and serious about keeping your children safe. Doors are badge entry so that strangers are not able to enter the building. They have a no bullying policy and they stick to it. Overall, I appreciate the values that my children are learning about being kind, being respectful and how to get along well with others. The Children's Spot is an excellent Daycare/After School Program! I would recommend them even to my closest friends and family. read more

My son had two major blows to the head and scratches around his private area while attending this daycare in the infant room. A teacher (Miranda) slammed a door into his head causing bruising and a knot. The other teacher (Aaliyah) claimed he tripped on his sock and basically flew into the door. When we watched the tape, Aaliyah had her back turned during the whole incident and never actually saw what happened. Another day, I got a call saying my son slammed his head onto the window seal causing a concussion. I was told Aaliyah was changing another child's diaper & my son came by the changing station & tripped over his sock once again hitting his head. When I got there to watch the tape, Aaliyah was not changing a diaper, she was in a chair on her cell phone, while my child was roaming around. ALL of the other children were SLEEP. I was also told it had just happened when they called me. The manager could not find the incident based on the time frame that was given. She had Aaliyah come in to tell us when it happened & she couldn't remember. She kept saying "right here, oh no, maybe at this time". She has proven to be a liar to protect herself & others when it comes to infants being severely hurt. The manager also tried to make up a reason why she was on her phone, but the back of the phone was facing towards the camera, so she had no idea. When I came to withdraw him from this daycare, the manager had no sympathy or emotion that my child was hurt & taken to Cooks ER due to my son vomiting all morning after the incident. When it came to the scratches, they blamed the diaper. However, when he is home wearing the same diapers he is just fine. When my mom brought up the scratches, Aaliyah told my mom that she disagrees and my mom told her you can't disagree with something that is there. So Aaliyah brings up he wears 0-3 month clothes. Im guessing she was saying cotton were causing the scratches. It was honestly just unbelievable. Within his first month, he was bitten by a older kid that was not supposed to be in the infant room. They were both playing UNDERNEATH a crib and my 8 month old son was trying to "help the other child to get from underneath crib". (Teachers words). They were also using his diapers & wipes on other kids. 50-60 diapers were being used up in a week & 3pack wipes were gone in 3 weeks. He would only get changed 5-6 times a day. After I called them out on it, Miranda called me saying my son caused a child to hurt herself by trying to "hug her". I immediately asked her if my child is being watched correctly and told her my child is 10 months old. He does not know how to do the thing that you all are coming up with. He doesn't know how to hug, or save children. Her response was "this is just the best way I can put it". There were a bunch of airheads working at this daycare. Find somewhere else that will keep your babies safe. read more

First thing they will tell you is the reviews online are lies and they come from "disgruntled parents". They will also tell you how they are faith-based which is a lie. Debbie the director is horrible. She tried to clinically diagnose my daughter with "defiance disorder" and even recommended free assistance from counselors. Me in an attempt to accommodate their wants allowed the counselors to meet me and my daughter. They came to my home and agreed with my pediatricians conclusion that my daughter was bored and ahead of what the class was learning. One day my daughter received a new teacher, Ashley without warning or tracing. Ashley one day said my daughter hit and bit her. Luckily another teacher was also on the playground and confirmed that the teacher was lying in an attempt to get my child kicked out of the school. When this attempt failed they(Debbie and Cheryl) did everything they could to make my life hell. I missed a week of work sitting at the school trying to correct my daughters "behavior". Debbie and Cheryl's recommendation was I spank my daughter until she listened to my authority. One day while at work I received a call that I needed to pick up my daughter she was being expelled from the school because Cheryl grabbed her arm in the hallway and my daughter was scared and began to run away crying. They called this defiance. The staff member who witnessed it call it "alarming". When I told him I was unable to leave work early because I had patients in the clinic, they told me they were going to call the police. I picked up my daughter and started the new Daycare the next day. A few weeks later a young boy from my daughters Class at the Childrens Spot came in and the mother told me how they had began to single her out after my daughter had left and inevitably were forced out of the school From multiple falls Accusations. Coincidentally both children receive county assistance from CCMS. The staff at the school does not care about the education of children or their well-being. I would not recommend any parent send their child here and I would recommend that every parent that does, report them to the state in hopes of them being shut down! read more

Couldn't be happier anywhere else!! Before the arrival of our second son we were a bit scared where he would go since our first son's daycare had changed over the last 5 years. We had always passed The Children's Spot on our way back home from various places and decided to drop in for a visit. We called ahead and Debbie the director told us to feel free to stop in anytime. We were so impressed with everything we saw, from the curriculum, to the smiles on the kids's faces, but more import the smiles on the teacher's faces. Many places can have happy children, but happy teachers are where they begin. Over the last 3 years since we've been here we are still impressed with what we see. Our son has been attending since he was 6 weeks old (never easy for a new mommy, but Miss Delana was the best at making me not feel guilty about going back to work. I still remember her warm smile and hug reassuring me we would both be just fine and see each other soon) and our older son has been a "drop in" on days mommy has to be and work and students have off. He will often will ask when his next day off is just so he can go and hang out with his friends. What I love is that this is truly a place that cares about the safety and well-being if my kiddos. Even when our youngest has to get redirected occasionally, as do most 2 year olds, it's always been in a very positive and face to face calm tone. He uses his manners and knows what he needs to do to fix the behavior. As a parent not with him throughout the day, I completely appreciate this. It takes a village indeed and I'm glad we call this place home. The classes offered are great from Spanish classes with Miss Vianey who loves what she does and the kiddos adore to the outdoor garden my kids love to watch the trees and vegetables grow. First and foremost, it's worth mentioning that the owner offers small tuition credits to parents who leave reviews on sites like Yelp. It has no bearing on how I feel about the place, it's just something you should know when reading reviews for it. Our child has been going to the Children's Spot for a little over two years now, and we've been pretty happy with our experience. We've never questioned the level of care and love our child receives here, and that's probably the strongest attribute it has. We have toured other facilities and noticed that The Children's Spot offers a warmer, more personal level of care than some chains. We love that. However, we have seen a bit of an educational plateau in our child's current room and some recurring frustrations with the administration about when children move up to their next room/class. Most of these frustrations probably happen at other places--factoring a child's age vs ability or placing new students vs ones waiting to move up--but it's still worth saying that it has happened here. We've spoken to other parents who feel the same. The staff has seen some pretty high turnover lately, and I've been given the impression that the owner and staff don't see eye to eye on things sometimes. It has no effect on the love and care the children are receiving, but the game of musical chairs with staffing can be tricky. Frustrated employees have voiced concerns to us about the owner, but it's hard to know how much of that is sour grapes or not. Again, just something worth mentioning. Our child will probably move on in a year or so (we've always planned on moving them to a more school-like atmosphere for Pre-K), but I have no hesitations about how safe and loved they are here. I might need to do a little more arts and crafts and letter/number activities at home to fill in the gaps, but maybe that's not the worst thing in the world. read more

My son has been attending the Children's Spot for going on two years. Recently, my husband and I purchased a home and began looking at day cares in the area. However, we were not satisfied with the options available and decided to keep our son enrolled at Children's Spot even though it would add 20 minutes to my commute every morning. My husband and I appreciate the programs and curriculum offered and want him to continue his education and friendships there. We also have good relationships with the administrators and appreciate how closely our son's care is managed. Any time we have an issue (which they have been limited and minor) the teachers and administrators handle things quickly, professionally, and for the best of our son. My three children have attended this daycare center for a little less than 2 months. Let me start by saying my family and I felt discriminated against from the first week we started. The director of this daycare is extremely rude and all about money. There are many hidden fees such as if you send them to daycare after 9am or if your child does not ride the bus you are charged. Just make sure you ask about them before you enroll. When my kids first started the daycare my oldest son was in the hospital and was out for all but 2 days he attended. I explained to the director his situation. He has anxiety and ADHD. Both of my boys are good kids! I've never had any issues at other daycares before. Because of this I believe my kids were not given a chance. My younger son seemed to be getting picked on for almost anything. When the teacher disciplined the students he smiled a little and laughed so he was sent to the office. Cheryl told my son "one more strike and your out" (meaning one more time and you will be dropped from care) I mean really over something so small... I believe this daycare retaliated by calling CPS on me and tryed to make a case. Which was fine. My oldest son pretended to get on the bus but stayed at the daycare. He was scared and nervous to get on so he hid from me and the bus driver. When I was notified I was immediately at the daycare to pick him up. I'm not understanding their reason for calling but a CPS caseworker called me and basically said there was not a case and for me to call the daycare because she thinks it was miscommunication. Of course they did have to come out and talk to the kids which I didn't mind at all. From the short time we were there I did notice new employees working there and others leaving. The infant room teachers were very sweet and that's the only thing positive about this center.I believe if your running a daycare you should know how to talk parents as well as have a love for kids and understand them. I believe she does not. My children had just transferred to a new school in the area and were trying to get adjusted to all the changes so I tried to give this provider a chance to avoid having to keep moving them around. I have never felt discriminated against anywhere until we came here. Never again! read more

Amazing! This daycare/school has watched over, cared for, prayed for, and loved all 3 of my babies for over the past 6+ years! It is a bittersweet moment to say that today will be the last day with them, only because after school care is no longer needed! If not for that, we wouldn't hesitate to come back! This special daycare has a place in our hearts forever! Our oldest came here spring prior to starting kinder, coming from a Montessori which we were not fond of, and the amount of growth he had in such a short period in their kinder prep amazed us! Also made us wish we started him here! But our other 2 boys started here at the young ages of about 18 months and their education is phenomenal due to it! Their programs provided help shape them into loving young people. This school helped reinforce our values promoting prayers, hygiene (daily teeth brushing), manners and core principles. Any issues that have arisen was easily taken care of by simple communication between us and the staff! Each teacher is and has been so loving and caring to us and our boys! I feel like this is a family! We have been blessed with this time with them! Programs included: spanish, swimming lessons during summer, prior to covid included field trips, and so much more! One star is to much for this place! This place is awful. Very dirty, lots of state violations. Just totally a dump! I went on a tour and would never put my kids here. Food just thrown on the tables for kids to eat, no plates or even a napkin put down. Just dry cereal dropped on the table in front of kids. I saw people changing diapers and then serving food without washing hands or gloves! Eww! Eww! Eww! Kids locked in high chairs to "calm down"! How is that ok!?! The place is filthy and smells. Though it is an older daycare, I toured the business and saw none of the issue the previous reviewer mentioned. I am the dad of an autistic child who had issues at numerous other places and he has had none here. The staff is attentive to his needs and redirects him correctly. Everyone seems to generally care. There has been some significant organizational changes so this may have lead to the current improvements. I like the pool days they have and so does my 9 year old. First let me say the only reason I gave a two is the teachers are great and Ms. Billie is wonderful. My child went there for four years and the only reason it was that long because of the teachers. When we first went started her everything was good the daycare was ran properly and communication was open. Over the years after different teachers came and went within in three months the office became horrible. The owner was at first about the children and what was best for me but that changed and now she is all about the money. Will promise all these things this how much more it will cost. Having experience with other area daycare centers, we have found that The Children's Spot is the center to beat. From their friendly, well trained staff to their clean, bright, cheery classrooms, magnificent playgrounds and developmentally appropriate curriculum our triplets loved every minute of their time at the Children's Spot. The activities and fieldtrips planned for the summer kept them wanting to come to school each week. We will most definitely be returning next summer for another great adventure. read more

actually, the only time that my child brought a bottle to your school was one day and that's only because she was running late and was drinking her morning bottle on the way in, she didn't have the bottle all day nor did she ever have a bottle all day in your school and she bought her pacifier everyday but as soon as we walked through the door it was put in her locker and she was not allowed to have it all day not even at nap time and no I did not argue with you all on this I never once had a problem with it. As far as non payment goes you got your money and if money was a problem then I would have gladly taken your extra week of free childcare and if there was a problem with non payment then she wouldn't already be in a new school that's a lot better and the school that she's in now has three or four children that has left your facility to go to another one and I have had several complaints about not only your school but you as the director so nice try on trying to save face but I wish you good luck! and you can say all you want about her temperature not being a hundred but I'm sorry I'm a parent who cares about my child I don't care if she has a low grade fever I want to know about it and I took pictures of her but when I got her home. I should have received a phone call about that also. no one should have to pick their child up the way I picked up my child from your school and that is why I wrote this review! thank you read more

This place is terrible! When I first visited this place the director impressed me. She really made me believe that she knew what she was doing and that she really cared for the children. The place smells like dirty diapers and smelly feet all the time! I had never been to a daycare center before so I thought that was normal, considering how many children spend their days there. After a few weeks the problems began. My son, who had never had a diaper rash, came home with the worst rash I have ever seen! It was all over his bottom and even up his back side. When I talked to the director about it she blamed the rash on"teething". At that time I asked her to have her staff keep a closer eye on my son's bottom. The problem did not end there. I noticed that my son only had a diaper rash when he was under their care. Thats when I realized that the director was ALL TALK! She blamed everything but her staff for the rash, from the diapers, wipes, teething, medicine, diaper rash ointment, she even blamed my husband! Her and the assistant director, who btw is no longer there bc she was reported to CPS for some inappropriate behavior, assumed me and my husband did not live together. I sat with the director and told her that I could no longer have my son in a place that I felt was not carrying for him properly and her response was that maybe the only way I could avoid him getting a diaper rash was to get him 1 on 1 care! That was her solution! Ever since I switched centers. ... surprise, surprise NO RASH! I do not recommend this place to my worst enemy. read more

This place is the worst -one star is to much to give. The first time I visit the daycare the assistant director was nice and very informative. I explained to her that my son has a speech and learning delay. She said that the staff could deal with special needs children and they currently had a child in their care who has autism. Even though the 3 and 4 yr. old classrooms seem to crowded (not enough space in my opinion for the children to play) everything else was good. Around the beginning of April I called the daycare to request information about an employment opportunity because they had a sign posted outside on the grass seeking teachers (I am a pre-K and Kindergarten teacher). The staffer who answer the phone gave me some good information about the position and when she realize I was over qualified for the position she told me I should probably apply for another position that was coming up. I asked for her name because I wanted to let the director know that she was very helpful, she then told me that she was the director. I then proceeded to tell her about my previous visit and inquiry for childcare a month earlier and explained the situation with my son. She goes to tell me that they are under new ownership and pretty much, just like the assistant director, assure me that they could accommodate. Well lets fast forward to the second week of May. I visit the daycare again this time bringing my son because I was really considering using their services. The assistant director showed around and while showing me the facility I refreshed her memory about my March visit. She said remembered vaguely but continue to give me information. When we went into the office a lady (who I assumed was a staff member) was sitting a the desk. The assistant director proceeded to inform her that my son would probably be placed into the 3yr. old class because of his delays. The lady behind the desk begin to ask my a lot of questions at the time sitting in her chair, leaning back and chewing on a pen. She was very unprofessional and seemed to have no knowledge of how to interact or deal with special need children. When I told her he has a speech delay and also he only eats certain foods (because of the texture/sensory). She asked, while chewing on her pen and leaning back in her chair; how many words does he say and can he chew. These would be normal questions but in this case her body language and tone was very disrespectful and rude. I told her he says some words and yes he knows how to chew but only eat certain food. Mind you I did not ask her to change the menus for him, I just pointed out on certain day he would probably only eat the fruit and I would assure that he ate breakfast at home prior to coming to school. Message in this LONG story...do pop up visits to the daycare's that you are considering choosing, you will be surprise how quickly you change your mind. read more
