The elderly couple was a bit abrasive and rough around the edges back then, but more so now. The behavior and mannerisms of this couple combined is very comparable to Seinfeld's 'Soup Nazi'. I politely asked the old woman (others refer to her as toothless) if I may take a picture of the menu and she practically had a heart attack. She screamed - "If you take a picture, I will kick you out of this place!". The old man also had a sarcastic tone in his voice when I asked about mayo in the chicken salad sandwich. The mushroom soup was pretty good and the chicken salad filling was OK. The house baked bread was the only thing that really made this whole experience bearable. It appears as though that these two seniors are set in their miserable, toxic and irritating ways and are too proud to make a change for the better.

Except they used Sriracha and the sauce is yellow (I'm used to a more brown or red sauce). I was also missing the tanginess of the tamarind and, the noodles were too soft. The chicken was tough and didn't taste like much. As for the appys, I've never had a fresh roll with pork sausage and I'm not sure if I'll have it again. The sausage was dry, tough and didn't have that sweet, unctuous flavour I like. Also, it needs more cilantro. The chicken satay fared better. It wasn't dry and the peanut sauce was nicely spiced.
