STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE !! Wow, just wow. I've been here a few times before and it has never been THIS bad. Today, we went in. The lady behind the counter could hardly understand me. While taking my order, another women came up and they started looking at an iPad about a SkipTheDishes order. I had to wait for them to finish to keep ordering. They where supposed to put guacamole on my 1 salad, and they charged me for it, plus a random 50 cent charge for banana peppers I never ordered. Like what ? Ok fine. I told them about the 50 cent charge and she just replied "yes". I'm like, why am I being charged for banana peppers I didn't order, again she just says "yes". Frustrated I say ok whatever. No point to argue over a few cents. Go outside, I see not only did they not even put in the banana peppers they charged me for; but, the guacamole I paid $3 for was not in the salad either. So now I've paid $3.50 for things I didn't receive . Pretty irritating ! Open my other salad and they forgot to put tomatoes on it. I go back to the store and ask them, hey, you guys charged me for this and forgot to put it on. She replies "yes, guac is extra" like, I know. I've paid for it but didn't get it. They argued with me for about 5 minutes before handing me a tiny container of guacamole. To top it all off, after arguing, paying nearly $30 for 2 salads, I finally get to eat, and there's a fly in my lettuce. Seriously, I don't understand what happened here today. I was charged for several things I didn't receive, then had to argue to get what I paid for, then I found a fly in my lettuce . I used to come here pretty often but that's going to change. I suggest everybody stay far away- go somewhere else. The chopped leaf down town or the one In Port Coquitlam are MUCH better. You actually get what you pay for without being argued with. My mother comes to chopped leaf often and decided to bring me along recently. I had just had a blood test and was famished, there was maybe a couple of tables with people in them eating and a few in line to order before us. As we approached the counter to line up the people making food greeted us, they were friendly and offered to help with the menu if needed. There was a lot of build your own salad options (which for the record I would usually go for) but I needed something a bit more heavy so I got the pesto quesadilla, my mom got the spinach salad and added shrimp, we also ordered 2 tomato soups and 2 chop waters (cucumber was the flavour of the day). I eat paleo and have been trying to get my mom to as well for close to a decade for health reasons, I think if it will ever happen for her it will be because of this place! The cashier must of over heard my mom asking how I was feeling (dizzy) because of the blood test I had taken shortly prior to lunch (he was waiting for a sample of the soup to see how spicy it was) he actually offered to bring everything to our table near the front. That was super sweet of him to do as they started their lunch rush almost immediately after we sat down... The cucumber water was ice cold and had super fresh well cut cucumber in it, the tomato soup was the perfect temperature (not microwaved) the pesto quesadilla was nicely toasted with all fresh ingredients and juicy chicken inside, my moms salad had loads of dressing and quite a bit of shrimp. The soups also came with a small portion of taco chips which were toasted nicely but didn't go great with the soup. Yes the prices look high but they are priced quite standardly for food cost at the moment just like every other salad place you will go to that has good quality so if that's your issue then take your butt down to your local subway and don't complain! Overall we had over and above customer service (which I witnessed all staff there that day give to others as well), great food and a warm and comfy place to eat. Can't wait to see what their seasonal food changes have in store for their menu. read more

This location in Brooklin, Ontario just opened. Very bright and clean. Big selection of salads that you can order as is, as a wrap or as a bowl. Lots of interesting add-ons for proteins. They also offer a daily soup and some sandwiches and quesadillas. I ordered the southwest as a bowl and found it delicious! Very, very fresh and crunchy vegetables, black beans and a nice brown rice which wasn't over-cooked or sticky. The dressing was tangy and a little spicy. My partner ordered the Caesar Salad in a wrap with added chicken. The chicken add on was very generous. He enjoyed it. I can't wait to try some other combinations. My husband thought it was a little pricey but all fast food restaurants are getting more expensive everywhere and I would rather pay more for healthy options. They also have several tables if you want to eat in. I highly recommend as a tasty, healthy lunch choice. read more

Tanner just really impressed me with his above-and-beyond customer service at The Chopped Leaf on 6th in New Westminster. While super hungry and wanting to avoid the typical fast food restaurants on the same street, I ran in here, ordered delicious southwest chicken salad, used the washroom that was really nice & clean (and automatic lights) and totally enjoyed just what I needed. I was with my baby daughter so Tanner brought my to-go salad to the table I parked her at. Then he brought me a glass of water which I forgot I badly needed. Thanks!! read more

I ordered a meal through Door Dash, a chicken rice bowl. I received my order WITHOUT THE CHICKEN. I called DoorDash and they asked me to call back Chopped Leaf. I tried calling Chopped Leaf for half an hour and there was no answer. I called another location that told me that location probably had closed at 6:00, when online it says they were closed at 7:00. I called back the next day, and the only thing they kept saying is they were "very busy" and "mistakes happen." I am beyond dissatisfied with their service. The reason I placed an order is so I did not have to cook, but I had to go to the grocery story, buy chicken and cook it so I could have it with their bowl. DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS SERVICE! read more

Basically they took the old Taco del Mar... Oh god, thank you! I decided to give it a try since I'm gluten free and pescatarian. The interior is very hip and clean with lime green accents. The menu is obviously something new since I never came here before so I had to graze for a moment to see what was right for me. Ended up getting their "design your own salad" option which for a starter is a good 6oz of yummy greens! You basically choose your salad base, proteins are an additional charge, then it goes; cheese, 3 chippings and the final dressing all for $5.75 (starter 6oz size) if you didn't add any 'extras'. I honestly thought it was going to be tiny but I got to say, that was a real good amount and only go bigger if you're sharing amongst another breathing being. Haha. Will come back to mix things up with my order. Only downfall is, it was a bit slow to get my order and can hear them bicker "hurry up" to each other and when I was ready to order, I'm guessing it was the supervisor who called one of the employees that I'm reading and she responded with a blunt, stern "What!". First time here and it was very tasty indeed! Ended up creating my own salad... Full size, chicken, avocado, romaine, feta, apples, craisins, walnuts with Goddess dressing. I can confirm that it was a great size and filling! The only thing stopping me from giving a 5 star is I feel the staff could use some extra training in knowledge of their products (I.e. Ingredients list for dressing, how the design your own menu works, etc.) they were very sweet, but that would have been a nice plus to the experience. Very good place to eat if you love vegetables and some proteins. Clean, well lit, nicely decorated and roomy. Got 2 washrooms, also very clean. I ordered popye wrap, which is a vegetables and fruits wrap with fruit dressing. Recommended protein was shrimp, so I asked them to throw that in. I've never had fruity wrap but it was excellent! Shrimp was plain but well cooked and went great with this wrap. But I think I'll try with another protein or without any next time because it tastes really good as is! They have some set menu that you can turn them into wrap or salad or sandwich. You can also build your own wrap or salad or sandwich. There were more options but I forgot. I come here pretty regularly and my standby is the full size pegasus salad w chicken. I'm normally very happy with the quality of the food and the portion size. It could be considered a little on the pricey side for salad, but it's a good size for about $12-13 depending on if I add in some extra veggies not normally included. Definitely a nice change from the fast food places that surround this area and I'll continue coming back so long as they stay open. Only thing that would be cool is if they got picked up by one of the delivery companies that are so en vogue right now (skipthedishes/doordash etc) for times I can't make it down in person. read more

Went here to seek out healthy food after a workout. The staff was friendly and gave us samples of their new drink options (which were low in sugar I might add). I ordered the hippie Cobb, which for $9 had 3 ounces of protein, 2 boiled eggs, avocado and bacon bits (not bad compared to other healthy food chains). It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing. My bf ordered a quesadilla which was delicious! I would come back again to try more things, I like their prices and the variety on their menu. read more

I went to The Chopped Leaf restaurant located in New Westminster 6th St., with my niece today, Feb. 8, 2016 at 12:00 noon. By the way it isn't a restaurant. You order your meal at the counter, pay your bills and you choose your seat. You wait for them to call you if they are busy or they take your order to your table. A man, the manager does nothing. He is at the counter checking things but not helping.. Pros: convenient: as this place is located in New Westminster Mall and neighbors to London Drugs and Bi Low Grocery store.. Not crowded; About one or two tables are mostly occupied at any given time. _______________ Cons: 1. being that salads is mostly what they serve, the place is pricey. They as you if you want protein to be included with your veggies. Careful: protein means chicken, or shrimp and a rip off price. 2. the washroom is situated at the back of the restaurant by the mall hall and anyone can come in and not necessarily be a patron of the restaurant. They just use the washroom 3. the water they serve: BEWARE: there are plastic chips in the water along with the ice in the cup of water they serve. This is very unsafe and very dirty, as you have no idea where the plastic chips came from or how it got into the salad. 4. the bowls they use make no sense, like a sinking ship. Portions aren't filled well as the excuse they have is because the bowl is shaped with one side higher than the other. 5. the spoons are not washed well OVER ALL, when I complained about the white plastic chip in my water cup along with the ice, the manager just said, "sorry.. do you want me to get another water?" to which I answered, "never mind..." He continued using his cell phone after that. That's all he did.. Will I go back? No..the price, the safety and sanitation are enough for me to tell people no one should go to this place... read more

Best combination of healthy, tasty and chill atmosphere. Their menu gives you the ability to enjoy small or large items that are healthy yet uber yummy. I was in the area yesterday and stopped by to pick up a customized salad with chicken for my protein. I have been to the one downtown numerous times when I lived there. In comparison, when I looked into my to go box, I was shocked what little I received for $14. I ordered chicken for my protein and there were barely only a few strips. For my 3 choices there were also very sparse grape tomatoes (which were cut in half) and cucumber slices that were so small that they are quartered, and orange slices barley non-existent. For my salad, I asked for half romaine and half iceberg lettuce. I feel completely ripped off for what little substance I paid for $14. Had I known beforehand what my salad was going to look like, I would have not ordered anything here and saved $14. I would have been better off picking up a prepared salad at Superstore for a fraction of the cost. The downtown location is completely different. I have always been happy with their salads.
