The place was pretty busy with people waiting for their orders. I put my order in and it took almost 30 minutes to get. I was only buying for myself, not sure why I had to take so long. The worker who took my order was friendly. But the amount of time one salad took is pretty disappointing. Especially when 3 workers are behind the counter working. I'd encourage people to phone ahead instead of waiting so long if you go in in person. My salad was good so that's why I'm giving 3/5 stars. read more

I had went for lunch to take out, and ordered the bbq quesadilla. It was fairly good. It took them 25 minutes to make it, not my idea of "fast." It appeared that the manager had made it and wasn't very nice. When i opened the box, everything was slapped down into a box. This was my second time back at chop. I think it's great that they have so many healthy options to choose from. It's quick and a no brained really. I have only had take out here bit I don't think there is much difference as the atmosphere is kind of like a food court. Order and the front counter then your food is brought to your table. The first time I ate here I had ordered a bowl. Which from what I can remember was half your choice of a carb such as brown rice or quinoa and half fresh veggies. I wasn't really a fan of it but I think it was more my fault because I was expecting more of a salad. This time around I order a salad off their menu. There are about 8 different options. You can also pick your own ingredients for your salad if you don't like any of the preset option. Which is nice if you're picky or have allergies. Adding a protein is an extra cost of 4-5 dollars. So I had the Spa salad and I thoroughly enjoyed it. And for about 12 bucks for a large filling salad with chicken , totally worth it. What I really liked was how they didn't skimp on the extras so you don't feel like you spent your money on a bowl of lettuce. There was tons of nuts, cranberries, shredded carrots and cherry tomatoes. And the serving of chicken was a decent enough size. Overall I think I will definitely be returning. read more

I feel very conflicted about Chopped Leaf... The biggest problem I find is that they are EXTREMELY inconsistent with the quality of their food (the amount they give you, as well as the actual taste of the food). It's such a shot in the dark going here. Half the time you get a half-filled, low-quality, overpriced wrap. However, the other half the time they pump out some exceedingly tasty, healthy, filling food that is completely worth the money! As a health-conscious restaurant with vegan-friendly options, I really want to love chopped leaf (and sometimes I do). But unfortunately, the lack of steady quality makes me love it a lot less.. I'm not sure why there is so much inconsistency here, but I do know that if they were able to pump out great food on the reg, I would be going here WAY more often. Although the food has been good, the service has taken a nosedive. I generally stop here after a workout, and happens to be in the last hour they are open. They have been out of vegetarian salad rolls each time, and have told me they run out around lunchtime everyday - why not make more I ask! On my most recent visit there were four staff, and only the cashier was at all friendly. The ones preparing the food seemed like they were more interested in preparing there own food and getting ready to close rather than make mine. It took 20 minutes for a wrap and salad, and all the ingredients looked pre-portioned. On a previous visit they locked the doors 7 minutes before posted closing and I watched 3 separate groups turn around and walk away. I was still eating inside. The owner or manager needs to take a look at what's happening in the evening. The last customer in the evening should get the same experience as the first customer of the day. read more

Overall, I'm a fan of this chain. I like having a healthier option without sacrificing too much time. I don't have any specific complaints about this location, but it's not as friendly as the Sherwood Park one, I find. And the food doesn't really have an awful lot of spectacular flavor, but I will definitely say that their chicken is good. But it's close to work, so I'm sure I'll be here often! read more

This place is going through staff changes so bear with them, even so the food is excellent and the staff is so friendly. They will do anything possible to make your visit an excellent one. I really like all the salads and the baja quesadilla. The thai curry soup is superb as well, and the chopped water really quenches your thirst. Was going to go here for lunch but decided to use the bathroom first. Thank god I did because they were absolutely disgusting!!! I really needed to use the bathroom so I was willing to clean the toilet set but I couldn't even get any toilet paper out of the dispenser. So I decided to leave, walking out I noticed the dirt of the floor too so god knows what the kitchen is like. Wow I've been to some great soup/salad/sandwich places in the past, but this place is above and beyond! I've not tried all the soups yet, but the wild mushroom chowder and the spicy thai lemongrass are really tasty... On a recent visit we had a Southwest salad w chicken, a Bangkok wrap w/prawns, and some mushroom soup... The salad was fresh, crunchy, and just the right amount of spiciness; the wrap was really tasty, especially the Evil Peanut sauce, and the prawns were cooked perfectly! I have been to this location a handful of times, living in st albert. Its unfortunate bc I love chopped leafs menu, but this location needs to get it together. A while back I ordered one of their bowls and added chicken, and brought it back to my work to eat on my break, to open it and see two measly pieces of chicken. I couldn't believe it. For the almost $5 you charge to add protein?! ok so I didn't go back for a couple months, today I went and got the tuna sandwich for lunch with a large Thai soup. Again, get back to work to open it , there is barely ANY tuna at all, $10 for multigrain bread w/some veggies in it. AND my "large soup" was legitimately half full. You guys have got to be kidding me. It seems there is a very young staff, and maybe training is inconsistent. I will not be coming back to this location, ever. read more

I have a coworker who rants & raves about how great this place is. So I decided to check it out. I came right after the lunch rush & got excellent service, the food was hot & extremely fresh. I must say hands down for a wrap/salad/sandwich place this little nook is worth your dollar. I normally eat vegetarian or vegan & this place can cater almost everything on their menu to accommodate. I enjoy Chopped Leaf. It's a nice place to stop when you're on the move and don't want a burger or other fast food. While it's not the fastest of the fast foods, because they have to make it fresh, it is worth the couple of minutes wait to get a beautiful, tasty salad. I love the option to build your own salad, which doesn't take any longer than their standard menu items to create. The only thing I have an issue with is the Chopped Water. It's tap water with fruit diced up in it, which they charge you for (I think it's around $1.50ish). Usually when I go in, it's something fancier, like cucumber-melon or something like that, but the last time it was lemon. They were charging $1.50 for lemon water, which you can get free in most restaurants. No. Not cool. But I'll keep going back for the salads and the tasty soups. read more

Ordered a sunshine salad, paid extra to have it with chicken. Drove all the way home and opened it to find it to have no chicken, no cucumber, and 3 little slivers of a avocado. It was basically a $13.50 bowl of mixed greens with apple and a sprinkle of cheese. Drove all the way back and got my money back. Wasted 30 min of my day. Eating at Freshii from now on. This was my first time at any chopped leaf. I love the concept of a fresh salad but was disappointed. I ordered the Popeye which consists of spinach feta oranges and walnuts...this was good but with very little feta. my problem came with the suggested prawns. they were lightly cooked on a grill and they tasted horrible...like the grill had not been cleaned in years with that charcoal taste from left over the bbq...and not in a good way. then it spread to the taste in the salad. read more

An okay place if you are looking for a healthier fast food experience. Food is fresh and overall tasty. I've been to this location twice and ordered the same salad both times. They are very consistent with quality and portions. On the service end, I think they could do a wipe down of the tables more often as they were dirty. It was not busy when I came in. We just finished having lunch at this restaurant and I have to say I enjoyed the salad very much. It took a bit long to receive our order so if your in a rush, I wouldn't recommend it. I really like how its tossed BEFORE it comes to my table so the dressing is dispersed throughout the salad. I also found it a bit pricey but was told by my guest who said it was on par with other salad/wrap restaurants. I will definitely go again. read more

Usually leaving out an ingredient, or two. They are very slow, took me 25 minutes today to get my order. I go to chopped leaf pretty regularly, I don't even mind paying the outrageous price for a salad/wrap because it's a great alternative to the abundant amount of burger places in St. Albert. Today as I bit into my wrap I had the longest piece of blonde hair I've ever seen stuck in my mouth. It was literally vomit inducing. This was once my favorite place to eat in St. Albert, turned into my least favorite. I used to eat here quite frequently, wonderful options, quick service, always accurate order, good price, kind employees, and that is now all gone. The first time I noticed it becoming a poor place to eat was roughly 7 months ago. The first time of many times to come, they messed up my order. At first, I thought nothing of it, we are human, we make mistakes, I was not mad. I asked for them to fix it, and they were quite rude about me wanting to get what i ordered. Again, I assumed this was just one poor employee among many good ones, but it only got worse. I noticed they increased their prices, which didn't put me off completely, because good food is worth the price. But after the price increase, they still continued to get my order wrong about 70% of the time. About 2 months of this, I decided I had enough and walked away and didn't return. My friend then insisted they had changed and swore up and down they had gotten better, so I had given them a second chance. So today I went to try them out again. Once again, they over charged me on rice (which is dirt cheap might I add) even though I had eliminated the meats and cheese. I got my wrap, and took a bite and was quickly reminded why I stopped coming here. They had missed out on 3 of the 4 ingredients I had ordered. I told them about it, got it re made, and even after their second attempt, they still managed to add wrong ingredients. I even found a piece of chicken in my wrap after pulling it apart to prove to them they added wrong ingredients, despite me always being very clear I do not want any meat in my wrap. This place is terrible especially for people with specific dietary requirements ie. vegetarian, vegan ect. as they always seem to ignore what you say, and when you complain about their mistake, they simply return a reply very rudely. I do NOT recommend this place and will never be returning. read more

I I have absolutely no problem with the food; however, the service needs some tweaking and the place needs a cleaning. Where are the managers? I frequent this place 3 - 4 times every week. All kids running this place? The floors, tables windows and doors (inside and out) were very dirty - tables not washed. It is true, not all but a lot of these kids have a funny attitude - very cold and a bit snobby. Again, where are the managers overseeing how everything is being run. The last time my daughter was there she said the worker swept floor where the patrons ate and moved the dirt pile right into the kitchen - gross! You may have a product but managing the place is the key to survival. read more

I actually walked in, I bet you 4 people welcomed me at the same time. Made my day as I wasn't having a good one. Got my food, came home and what a perfect end to my evening. overall the wraps are quite tasteful. I tend to visit the premises about every 1-2 weeks. I cannot recall the last time they had salad rolls. Keep in mind when I place an order for 2 people it is usually between the hours of 3-5 pm and the restaurant closes at 8 pm. It seems strange that every time I go in to eat and I ask for 1-2 sides of salad rolls the cashier explains that they just sold out, regardless of the time i am there. Far be it from me to tell a business person how to run their store, but at $6 for 1 order of salad rolls, one would think that there is much money to be made. regardless.....I am at the point where I choose to go elsewhere and spend my money at another St Albert establishment. read more

Generally we are very happy with their menu. Today me and my husband arrived half an hour before close to find a sign on the door saying their debit/credit machine was down. No big deal, we took out cash. As we approached the till we heard the cashier tell the person in front of us that they were out of rice but offered extra lettuce or quinoa for their bowls instead. Also no big deal, we both had planned on a bowl but like quinoa. As we order we are informed that there is only enough quinoa for one of the dishes, disappointing, so I changed my order. I ordered the Bangkok, my favourite salad. Before we leave we over hear that they are also out of cranberries. When I get home I open my meal to no peanuts, which is one of my favourite parts and we were not informed that they were out of peanuts. All these things on their own are no big deal but all together it was a giant disappointment. We did overhear the cashier say their was a miscommunication and their order wasn't placed but if you run out of that many ingredients I would suggest closing or running to the grocery store and picking them up. If you can't deliver what you advertise, at least offer a discount. Very disappointing. read more
