My friends had been hyping up this place to me forever. Best Salad Ever - is what they said. I'm a salad girl so I was so excited to try it. It was the Cider Press Signature Salad. I'm not a fan of blue cheese but they let me substitute for shredded cheese (thank you!). The lettuce was so soft and buttery and they gave reallllly good portions for the toppings. Did I eat 100 dried cranberries? Maybe. The house apple cider dressing was so good too I bought some to take home. We shared pretzel sticks as our appetizer. They were large, delicious and came with a Big cup of beer cheese to dip. It's a cute little place behind a farm store where I grabbed some delicious treats to take home. Service was good. This restaurant is family owned, it is also Veteran owned. Im all about supporting small businesses and veteran owned businesses when I am able to do so! The restaurant is located in Taylors Farm Market complex. It is very neat, clean and has a nice layout and friendly staff. The concept is hand crafted, farm to table. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger on a Brioche bun, french fries and micro brewed sweet tea. The burger is 1/2 pound farm raised grass feed beef. I wanted to try dessert. I will get dessert on my next visit. There is a nice selection of desserts. The menu has quite a few choices. I came in for lunch on a coworkers suggestion. Great call! You can also purchase fresh fruits and vegetables and other edible items from the market after you eat your meal. There is ample parking in the lot on both sides of the building. Tonight I had an Italian Panini with cottage cheese instead of home made chips.My sandwich came out with home made chips, no cottage cheese. Waitress made it right and delivered my cottage cheese. My friend ordered a 1/2 steak and cheese sub with chips and cottage cheese. His came as a whole sandwich with no cottage cheese. She then delivered the cottage cheese. Super tasty meal! My family stumbled upon this little gem located inside of a farmer's market while on our way to Skyline Drive.... and I do not use the word "gem" lightly. Everything was exceptional; the food, the service and the incredibly friendly and personable staff (pro tip: ask for Billy). We started out with salads and went with their house apple cider vinaigrette dressing. I don't often rave about a salad, but wow was this amazing. The dressing is one of the best I've ever had; I was seriously bummed when I asked if they sold bottles of it in the farmer's market and was told "no". I would've bought 3 bottles on site! The lettuce on the salad was hydroponically grown from a local farm and you could definitely taste the difference. A truly great start to the meal. For our main course, we had a BLT (which was very good and made with house smoked bacon) and two of their burgers (the smoker burger and the pretzel melt burger), both of which were made with fresh local ground beef and cooked to a perfect medium rare as ordered. The beer cheese on the pretzel melt burger was amazing. We were pretty full after our main course, but our waiter offered us a slice of homemade blueberry pie to go so we couldn't say no.... And I'm glad we didn't. It was delicious. They also have freshly pressed apple cider in season, which we really enjoyed. All in all we had a truly exceptional dinner and we'll definitely be back next time we're passing through. read more

Great food and friendly place. The homemade chips are awesome! We have loved every sandwich and salad we have ever eaten there. You get preservative free meats and sauces. The produce is locally sourced. And you can buy some fresh fruits and vegetables on your way out- or a dessert to take home. How can you beat that? Plus no one there is the least bit uptight or rude. Prices are a bit high, but the food here is really good. The fish sandwich is huge, but if you order for take-out, they NEVER remember to include tarter sauce. They also make a really good club sandwich, BLT, and sweet potato fries too. In the mood for dessert? Definitely go for the berry mascarpone cake. This is one of those gems in a city that you always pass by but never stop in and then when you stop in, you're in awe trying to figure out why you're just now finding out about this place because it's amazing! This is a place that you must go to...you won't be disappointed! Their crab dip is so so good as well as their cider press salad, Reuben sandwich, and pulled pork barbecue! The food just isn't good and our orders both times were lukewarm to cold. I haven't been back since and that was over six months ago.

My husband and I each had the lunch special which is get three things for nine dollars. He got the chili, a Panini sandwich and french fries, and I got the Panini sandwich, chicken noodle soup, and salad. The salad had homemade croutons, which were yummy and the chicken noodle soup had more big chicken chunks than anything else! I highly recommend this place. Reasonably priced, nice atmosphere and on the video screens is the food channel! What more would you asked for? I was holding off on posting this until visiting recently and noticed the menu changed for now a third time. Not only was I charged for extra salad dressing (never charged in the past for extra dressing) but noticed that the food portions have decreased and the prices have gone up significantly. I held off on posting the disgusting quality of the quality control (having food served with hair on it) as I really wanted this local business to succeed as there are not many family owned places in town. The great ratings have caused the owners to become greedy, raise their prices, and cheat their loyal customers... The only reason why I did not give a worse rating is because everyone for the most part is very nice and friendly, a bit slow perhaps, but friendly. read more

If you didn't know this place was here already, you may not stumble across it randomly..... It's located in the back half of a family farm market. That said, once you are inside and seated, you'll be impressed with the industrial/agricultural decor. In some ways it feels new, and in other ways it feels like it's been around for awhile... The kitchen is rumored to be run by the locally famous 'Douby', who once had a great place to eat closer to town. The service was a bit slow, but it seemed to be during a rush.. Well, the food is certainly delicious! Everything is served 'Will I Am' Fresh! I was told that once the growing season is in, almost all of the ingredients will be acquired from local farms. I was not expecting such a large dining room behind what was previously just the farmer's market store front. They have done a good job outfitting the space with an industrial-meets-farmhouse feel. There are some great photos on the wall of their family farm and an old black and white area farm shot. The menu was comprised of mostly sandwiches, wraps, and salads. Drink selection was made up of various sodas and teas, both fountain and bottled, and Black Dog coffee. The fountain drinks were served in tall mason jar style glasses. They offer a selection of pies and cakes for dessert, displayed in the case by the hostess station. We ordered the Southwest Shrimpanada appetizer (mini shrimp empanadas with black beans and veggies). They were excellent, served in shot glasses with some kind of ranch dressing in the bottom. They came out piping hot and were a good size for two people to share for an appetizer. I got the roast beef and bleu cheese panini and added onion to it. The sandwich was served on sourdough bread that has been pressed in a panini grill, but the contents of the sandwich were not hot. Maybe it's supposed to be like that? I also realized that the bleu cheese on it was actually feta. It's not so big a deal for me, because I love feta cheese, but I asked our server about it. She talked to the kitchen staff and confirmed that they had run out of bleu cheese. The cook put feta on it without mentioning it to the wait staff. :-/ Our server offered to fix it right away and investigated my question. Then, when I told her I would eat it anyway, she gave us a break on the bill. I don't think she could have handled it any better really. The kitchen staff may need some extra training though. All told, my sandwich was pretty good, made with quality ingredients. My boyfriend got the Reuben, which they can also do with turkey, if that's your thing. I didn't try it, but per his assessment, the corned beef was good - thin sliced and not at all stringy. The sandwich as a whole was not so good. The sauerkraut (which I did taste) was more watery than pungent. There was so much liquid that it completely soaked through the bread, and he ended up with a soggy sandwich. He said the bread was toasted and insisted that they needed another bread. After tasting the sauerkraut, I am betting that was the issue. The house-made chips though! THE BEST! They were consistently crunchy throughout, and the seasoning they use is a light sprinkling of plain old salt and pepper. Would it be too much to say it would be immoral for them to change the recipe? Maybe, but they were fabulous. So, it wasn't a particularly winning experience all around, but I like to give a new place some leeway to work out the kinks. Three stars seems fair for now. I look forward to going back and trying the rest of the menu and watching this place turn into something great. Knowing how much work the owners have put into the store, I have very high hopes for the Cider Press. read more
