When we arrived Adam quickly got us into it and we just went straight into the room and the scenario. The room was very well decorated and designed - I really liked the feeling of the room and it fit the scenario that was described which is a big reason why we chose this one over some others. You're briefed on a tablet when you get into the room about rules and then the scenario itself and timer starts ticking. You also request hints off of the tablet so everything was pretty smooth off of that. For our scenario we got to the last puzzle and ultimately failed. Did think the last puzzle was not in the best condition so kind of threw us off if we were doing it correctly/scared to break anything. But my group really thought the puzzles were creative and challenging and not a walk in the park even with the hints. Loved the immersiveness and challenge of the room. Would come again.

The last clue really tested our numbers skills so glad we could use our cell phones ! Had 1 handheld buttery and 2 black lights so I suggest you take advantage of this and were able to complete clues ahead of order. 13 haunted clues to escape the dollhouse. Also big shout out to our commissioner Brennan who has really taken the league to the next level. It's that simple You say this limits forfeits which is a lame excuse considering you actually have a pretty decent sub system. Having a large team is not accommodating the group of three, it's just a way to have more players in the league to make more money. Go to a game and watch. Tell me sitting on the sideline is fun. Once again. Go somewhere else. Better leagues for half the price.

Needless to say, the kids had a blast and for other parents to get a better picture of how much fun it was. The pool was also heated very well and was of adequate size and depth. In another video on the company's FB page, I did see that the pool can also have "currrents" and even simulate nighttime scuba diving. One of the kids freaked out a little bit as she was getting used to the mask but Tom G. was able to calm her down and she was able to dive in. Definitely, this place is very welcoming of beginners and a great place to begin the process of certification. For the party part of the birthday celebration, our friend was able to bring her own food to the second floor where the kids recounted on their great experiences in the water. The facility location is on "Building 8" on the west side of Olive Ave just beside the 101 Freeway. They have a nice shop full of scuba gear/equipment. It is amazing that there is a facility here for divers in our "desert city", and comforting to know that the instructors are very skilled and friendly.

I can't wait to go back with two primary use-cases in mind: 1. I'm decent at golf, but I really want to be better. Nicky was our "coach". She was super nice but I had a hard time understanding some of what she said. With other patrons cheering and talking loudly and she was talking fast and giggling during her instruction it was hard to follow. As a suggestion, I understand the coach needs to be present for safety reasons but don't hover over the customers and tell them what games to play unless they are asking. Let the patrons explore and learn and have fun. The environment is nice. It's a little darkish like dungeon style which makes it kind of cool. It's also a little chilly on the lanes so maybe. Light sweater should be kept near by. Game play is fun and takes a little skill to get the axe to stick in the board but overall a good time. Would surely like to go again some time

The incident not only caught us with a complete surprise but left our 6 y/o with the worst memory of her first ever chess tournament and probably has negatively affected her budding love for chess which I would never be able to repair. It is disappointing to see the staff(over staffed they said)not intervene when they see opponents moving random pieces during the game(multiple times), making pyramids with pieces off the board during a game, etc so much so that it would make a 6 year old emotionally upset(lots of tears) because they came looking to play a fun and fair game. Given the age, I am not upset at the child tampering with the game but at the authorities who didn't even say a word or something like: let's play by the rules or Buddy, please focus. Something?!!! Not even a word! There was no intervention what so ever and they just stood there watching the show of my 6 y/o crying nonstop. Upon asking them after the fact, we were told that they were waiting for my kid to raise hand for assistance. Are you kidding me? I was left speechless. These are 6 year olds you are dealing with for god's sake. God forbid if someone gets an asthma attack please don't wait for them to raise their hand for you to jump in and help. And miraculously that wasn't the case during the next round on that same kid's table. A teacher was constantly keeping an eye and intervening when a knight kills diagonally; all of this without a single hand being raised. Why the different treatment then? And when the parent is coming to show their concern instead of showing empathy and agreeing to the mistake you are insulting them with asking counter questions and making arguments. Not fair and extremely unprofessional on his part. Very disappointing to see a display of such incompetent behavior from Chess Emporium. Thanks for ruining a family's much awaited Saturday!

My kids have attended chess emporium for many years and also participated in a few classes at…read moreschool. We absolutely love the coaches (Alex and Ben are especially fantastic but most all are great) and it is a great place to learn in a non-threatening environment. The kids also love the tournaments and it is great to see them excited about something that uses their brain. They also have gotten to be pretty good at chess. My only complaint is that there are a lot of charges - we're paying for something every week (class, tournament fees, facility memberships, and an ASCF membership for a rating system that isn't recognized elsewhere). We may have to take out a Chess loan soon, but we do still love the place.
