Coffee cowboy kids scoop on a sugar cone
    Jen B.

Cute little ice cream shop in Cave Creek. I got the cowboy coffee ice cream on a sugar cone. It was good, a little icier and not as creamy as I would have wanted but still good overall. The workers were very helpful and friendly.

Wow!! I read about this place in the Cave Creek visitors guide. I was staying not far away so I decided to go check it out. I got the hot fudge Sunday loaded either dark chocolate and strawberry ice cream. It was so delicious. The fudge did not seem hot tho. I guess the ice cream is so cold it must have froze it. lol. Idk. But boy howdy it was good and huge. I believe how big and delicious it was. I could not eat the entire sundae. They make their ice cream hand made. They even have quarts you can buy to take home with you. Next time I am going to buy a couple quarts for the house. Anyway, the nice young lady who helped me was very informative on what came Roth the sundae and she did an excellent job making it. I will be back next time I come here.

We all need a treat once in awhile, right? The City Creamery makes their own ice cream the old fashioned way. There is a standard menu with a new flavor featured every Friday. Chocolate is my go to flavor. So why not chocolate with chocolate sprinkles? To top it off, a waffle cone and we are good. Well, that hit the spot! Parking in back of Cave Creek Road.

Cute little place inside. The pistachio ice cream was odd didn't look out taste like it and the coffee one did taste like a Latte. I would not go back. But I'm glad i can check trying a new place today off my to do list ha ha. I also think it's more appetizing if you see the ice cream.

Single scoop. More like a sample.

Second time coming here two consecutive days. First time was great, hence we returned the next day. Day one we received generous scoops. One scoop nicely filled the waffle cone even inside. Today it was like we all got kids scoops and felt slightly gyped. Someone should get some quality control going here. Good fresh ice cream otherwise.

We went to grab some ice cream here after having a drink nearby, and this is a great hidden gem! We went in right before closing, but the staff didn't mind. Seemed like they were some teenages just at their night job - they were fun to talk to! We all were chatting about the music choice in the shop (Taylor Swift) and they were super patient with us choosing our flavor. I loved this shop because there were so many unique flavors! I had such a hard time deciding, and the staff let us do a taste test. I tried the feta and honey and it was surprisingly great! I was in the mood for something chocolatey, so I went with rocky road. My boyfriend got strawberry cheesecake and cookies & cream in a waffle cone. We were in and out quickly! The ice cream was delicious! It was a little too frozen for me, but nothing that a couple minutes in a warm car didn't fix. The chocolate was very dark and rich, and I loved the little marshmallow pieces. My favorite part was that I could tell there was some almond flavoring in there! My boyfriend's flavors were also rich and creamy - we wish the cookies and cream had bigger chunks of cookies, but it was still great! My favorite part was the waffle cone - it was sweet and crunchy, and tasted exactly like how the shop smelled. We will definitely be back!

Ice cream was great! Tried the Wedded Bliss, delicious. Generous portions. Small relaxing place.

This place is SO busy in the summer... SO, So busy! We were showing my mother in law real estate in the area and decided to stop in for an ice cream splurge. I was so happy there wasn't a crazy long line out the door as usual! We walked in and I first noticed how each of the four people working greeted us! So friendly.. That is a plus nowadays! It's always a win in my book! I also noticed the accolades even before I noticed the choices since I was supposed to be choosing choices to share with my husband for a sundae! The City Creamery has been voted one of THE Best Ice Cream Places in National Geographic Magazine! Back to the ice cream! Everything is small batch and homemade! I love vanilla and maybe that speaks to my personality.. a safe bet. Comments kept to you, please! I can't have nuts .. also comments kept to you. I do not remember what we got but it was amazing and filling and even though we shared it with a lot of rich chocolate fudge sauce; hot caramel and whipped cream I loved it and it filled us both up! My mom in law got a sugared cone and didn't come up for conversation for a bit! Yay! Lot of amazing flavors and great service in a great place! Get in here!

I love the he smell of waffle cones being made, and that's the first thing you'll notice when walking into the city creamery. But you won't receive a greeting from the three employees standing around. My experience was very awkward here. One girl making waffle cones just had a military thousand yard stare going on, the guy was there, but he wasn't, and the other girl was ready to go home. I ordered my sundae and was excited since the ice cream is made in house, you can see the ice cream being made next to the cashier which is pretty cool. But the vanilla was, well, kind of vanilla. It was nothing special. The girl did give me a lot of fudge which is nice. It took my hot fudge Sunday to the next level. I really just didn't appreciate the service and not so welcoming environment.

    Not so strawberry, strawberry milkshake.

I think this ice cream shop is absolutely adorable, the location is fantastic with a good amount of seating and a great view. Downtown Cave Creek is perfect for a weekend afternoon visit! Since the weather has been warming up, I figured naturally ice cream was the way to go. The shop has a great selection of ice creams that are house made with mostly natural ingredients the old fashioned way. I opted for the milkshake myself and really had my heart on strawberry, which I added caramel sauce, whipped cream and graham crumbs on it. The graham crumbs didn't really do much, I'm not even sure the caramel sauce was worth a $1 more. Truthfully speaking the strawberry flavor was non-existent and would not be able to guess what it was blind folded. The milkshake was a little thin by my standards, and perhaps the strawberry was even more washed out due to the ratio of ice cream to/milk. The result of the creation unfortunately didn't really hit the spot. A similar Starbucks offering is $6 as opposed to the $9 mark up here. Yes, I know Starbucks isn't homemade but it does actually "taste" like strawberries at least. I really would rather support a homemade "mom and pop" place. The second item we ordered was a waffle bowl with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. The downside about the waffle bowl is you get a paper to hold it, I was hoping for something a little more sturdy. After ordering my two items, I was given the waffle bowl immediately, which I tried to balance while getting out my credit card to pay as there was no good spot to put it down. After giving my credit card I was asked if I was part of their loyalty program, and I said no and asked if I could sign up. The woman was in such a rush to ring me up she had already swiped my card. I never did find out what the loyalty program was. Also, they keep the spoons in a really awkward place, I was stuck waiting for the cashier to ring in the next family to grab a spoon. It was another several minutes before the milkshake was ready, it was a little awkward getting the one item well before the other. I really just didn't want to stand and watch it melt as the waffle bowl wasn't for me. For two items we spent just under $17. I definitely feel prices are marked up because they are located a cute little town and a great spot. I'd check out the place if you happen to be here or are entertaining visitors, but I'd definitely not go out of my way as a destination ice cream shop. Maybe a different flavor might have provided a different milkshake experience, but usually strawberry is a hit with me.

Prickly pear ice cream flavor. Yummy and what a view.

Bruster's Real Ice Cream seriously has some of the creamiest ice cream. We had been to this location when it first opened but hadn't been back in a while, and now I'm wondering why we waited so long. One thing we love is that they have a drive-through option, so convenient, especially on busy school nights. And the flavor selection? So many to choose from! My daughter picked a scoop of chocolate raspberry truffle and a scoop of cherry vanilla. My son went with cotton candy explosion and loved the pop rocks mixed in. He thought that was the coolest part. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed to support a good cause and treat ourselves. We will definitely be back again soon!

It's located next to Cafe Zupas and Harkins, so that made it easy to find and park. There were a few people eating inside and only one family ahead of me. I like that the cups are right at the entrance, it makes sense logically to have it flow that way. They have a wide variety of froyo flavors, including sorbets and low/sugar free. I decide to get the chocolate fudge sorbet as my main base, and also tried some of the milk chocolate, pomegranate raspberry tart, and orange. The chocolate sorbet is my favorite, tastes so good. The pomegranate was a pleasant surprise; delicious and tart. Will def get more in a future visit. For toppings, there is a lot to choose from and everything is kept clean and stocked. I got marshmallow sauce (bottle was low so I asked for another one), hot fudge, chopped peanuts and almonds, dark chocolate chips, peanut butter cups, mochi, strawberries and raspberries (gotta be somewhat healthy). My total weight was 15 oz and with the birthday reward, I only had to pay a few dollars so it was a great deal. The employee who helped me and rang me up was polite and friendly.
