Sweet Suzan's relocated to this new location very near where I live, so that's how I discovered it. Seeing the excellent reviews at their old location, my wife and I stopped in to give them a try. The friendly employees behind the counter will offer to let you sample anything you'd like to, and after a couple of tastes, we landed on four different flavors on two different visits. Every one of them was among the most delicious gelato flavors we've ever had: cherry mascarpone, mint chip, peanut butter stracciatella, and pistachio. Just wow. The flavor was rich, natural, and perfectly sweet, while the texture was just as good. The pricing is pretty good, too, and it really makes sense to go large here, with the additional cost for a larger size not being that much more. They also offer some excellent-looking pastries, all made in house. They have an espresso menu, too, with the beans coming from the Roastery of Cave Creek. They sell canned and bottled beverages from a cooler in the corner. The ambience is similar to the previous ice cream shop that occupied this space. It's small, but there are still ample places to sit, and everything is kept cool and clean, light and bright. I highly recommend stopping in for a taste spoon. You might just get hooked. :)

This is such a cute new spot in Cave Creek! They have a lot of gelato to choose from and coffee options. The owner was friendly and helpful and we will definitely be back!

Janey's Coffee Co & Bodega is truly a treasure. Set back from the main road (Cave Creek), I was…read moremildly surprised at how busy it was on a late Sunday Afternoon. I say "mildly suprised" because once we walked up to the actual coffee house we heard the live music on the large back patio. One of our absolutely favorite local artist, Aaron Howard was performing, and he definitely brings in a crowd. It was busy, as I mentioned, but not too crowded, and we found a good table towards the back. As it was the begging of the hot weather this spring, we were very grateful for the generous-sized table umbrellas. But first, we went inside the Bodega to order a Beer and a snack. They have a great selection of Beer and wine! And since we were still 2 hours or so away from dinner, we decided to grab a veggie & cheese board, which had a nice variety of cruditè and humas. It was very satisfying for 2 adults. We spent.a total of about 2 hours there and left there knowing we would be coming back to Janey's. Side note: For those of you who need accessibility, I myself am on an electric scooter for ambulating. The parking lot is dirt and only has a couple of handicap parking spots. But no space is more than approximately 150 ft from the entrance to Janey's. Once you get to the building, it is very easy to get in and out of the main bodega, with wide, level doorways. The doors were propped open when we visited. I did not utilize the restroom on this visit.

However, what' will keep us from going back is the no-personality service. Been there twice in the afternoon and both times the service was stoic. For us friendly service tops everything. Nobody wants to feel like you're inconveniencing the employees.

The dirty birdy and whiskey buck were such a hit we had a few. The appetizers we tried were delicious. The seared ahi tasted yummy and the pork belly with its crunchy exterior was gobbled up quick. We then tried the cauliflower and steamed clams. The broth for the clams was so good, we asked for more bread to sop it up. The cauliflower was yummy and everything on the plate was eaten up. The girls were full after that, but I wanted to try the beet salad. Have to say, one of the best I've ever had. Beets, arugula, goat cheese, walnuts (I think) and Orange slices with a tasty vinaigrette. Although the girls were 'full', they saw that and had to try it. Nothing left in that bowl as well. Overall, very pleasantly surprised and will for sure return to try other items on the menu. Service was great btw! My wife and I will certainly be back!

Just wonderful people running the restaurant and the manger saved the day by presenting us with a magnificent slice of warm chocolate cake with whipped cream. SO GOOD. This review is strictly for the cupcakes - not the customer service- it was very lackluster…read more Tried Small Cakes for the first time this week and had a hard time deciding which cupcakes to try. So many wonderful choices. We went with four Peanut Butter Cup Cupcake If you love peanut butter and chocolate, this cupcake is hard to resist. It features a rich chocolate cake topped with smooth peanut butter cream cheese frosting. A sprinkle of crumbled peanut butter cups adds the perfect finishing touch. Decadent, balanced, and full of flavor, it's a must-try for anyone who loves this classic combination. Red Velvet Cupcake This cupcake reminds you why red velvet has stood the test of time. The cake is soft, moist, and lightly chocolatey, while the cream cheese frosting is smooth, tangy, and perfectly sweet. Every bite is rich, fluffy, and gone before you know it. A classic done right! Vanilla Cupcake with Pink Buttercream Don't let its simple appearance fool you--this cupcake is anything but ordinary. The vanilla cake is light, fluffy, and moist, while the pretty pink buttercream is silky, sweet, and piped generously on top. It's a timeless classic that proves vanilla never goes out of style. Chocolate Cream Cupcake Calling all chocolate lovers--this one is for you! A rich, moist chocolate cake with buttercream before being topped with a decadent fudge frosting and a swirl of even more buttercream. It's rich, chocolatey, and every bite feels like a celebration. It's a shop that we will visit again. Our dilemma will be to get what we know is wonderful or try one of the other terrific options.
