Sweet Suzan's relocated to this new location very near where I live, so that's how I discovered it. Seeing the excellent reviews at their old location, my wife and I stopped in to give them a try. The friendly employees behind the counter will offer to let you sample anything you'd like to, and after a couple of tastes, we landed on four different flavors on two different visits. Every one of them was among the most delicious gelato flavors we've ever had: cherry mascarpone, mint chip, peanut butter stracciatella, and pistachio. Just wow. The flavor was rich, natural, and perfectly sweet, while the texture was just as good. The pricing is pretty good, too, and it really makes sense to go large here, with the additional cost for a larger size not being that much more. They also offer some excellent-looking pastries, all made in house. They have an espresso menu, too, with the beans coming from the Roastery of Cave Creek. They sell canned and bottled beverages from a cooler in the corner. The ambience is similar to the previous ice cream shop that occupied this space. It's small, but there are still ample places to sit, and everything is kept cool and clean, light and bright. I highly recommend stopping in for a taste spoon. You might just get hooked. :)

This is such a cute new spot in Cave Creek! They have a lot of gelato to choose from and coffee options. The owner was friendly and helpful and we will definitely be back!

I stopped by on a week day after an event in the area for a late night treat. Ambiance (3.5/5): Like most ice cream shops, Pazzo is a pretty small establishment. There's seating for about eight people or so inside. Something to keep in mind as if you're visiting at a peak time, you may have to eat outside, in your car, or standing up. Though it's tiny, it's well-kept and comfortable. Service (4/5): While service isn't a big part of the experience, it went pretty well. When we arrived, nobody was working the front, but he came from the back after a minute or two. I imagine he was waiting gelato. Like pretty much any ice cream shop, they will let you sample flavors. From there, I paid quickly. Drinks (N/A): I only ordered ice cream, but they have coffee, water, and a few soft drinks. Food (4/5): You know the drill. Choose your size. Cone or a cup. To make things more interesting, you can even get gelato sandwiched between two cookies. I was tempted, but opted for a medium gelato in a cup which allowed me to choose two flavors. At gelato shops, I look for interesting flavors. They have that here with a nice mix of creamy gelatos and fruity sorbets. I went with the cookies & cream (not particularly innovative but an all-time classic) and the cherry chip (definitely interesting). You can taste the quality of the ingredients. Solid gelato for sure.

Service was quick, tasting spoons are provided, and it's very clean and well-lit. The flavors rotate and all gelato is made daily. At our visit tonight the six of us tried multiple flavors. In a small cup you can get a single flavor, two flavors in a medium, and I think three (or four?) in a large. We had three smalls and three mediums for about $45. My son had Sea Salt Caramel and Espresso Bean, my DIL had Sea Salt Caramel, grandkids - twin 2 had a medium of peach sorbet ("Very peachy!"), twin 1 had coconut and raspberry sorbets, Jack had Crème de Biscotti (cookies and cream). I had Sea Salt Caramel and Dark Chocolate and the chocolate was dark as chocolate syrup, rich, creamy, and boasted dark chocolate chunks. I devoured it all. The mall area around us was like a plaza, with white light-wrapped palm trees, umbrella tables with chairs and several artificial turf play areas where littles were tumbling and playing. A great family atmosphere.

It's very good. I've also tried the Peach which was great as well. You can try samples of whichever flavors you want. You can also get two flavors in the same cup. Something about gelato feels lighter than traditional ice cream - but maybe it's just in my head. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
