We stopped in this afternoon the first time. On our annual vacation. Very clean. a grade no health violations. Bright cheery with a location in a newer mall that has a Target store. Very expensive so watch those toppings that add weight. Toppings are packaged so people aren't touching them. I like plain tart because it's my favorite . My yogurt was kinda watery and not creamy so it could be improved. . My daughter and the 2 little grandsons also had cups and liked the flavors. We will be back. Highly recommended. read more

While I have been going to Cherry on Top for years for frozen yogurt, my most recent time was a disappointment, unfortunately. Most of the flavors and machines were either not working and/or not available and the toppings were lacking. My favorite, the smashed ice cream cones, were not available. It was clean inside and the staff are always nice. It was definitely very busy, too. However, upon getting to the car and eating the frozen yogurt, all the flavors tasted very sour. This definitely did not seem right. Cherry on Top is usually very good and I hope to go back and have a different experience soon. read more

I have been going to this cherry on top my whole life and have always loved it. However, tonight I left very disappointed and will be reluctant to return in the future. My boyfriend and I arrived at 8pm on Tuesday, August 25th. We grabbed our bowls, filled them with frozen yogurt, and proceeded to the toppings station. When we went to grab our go-to toppings/the only ones we ever get (cookie dough and brownie bites), we were met with a completely empty topping fridge. When my boyfriend asked the employee if those toppings were available, the young man studdered with a guilty look on his face, "No, I put them away already cause we close soon." Mind you, at that point it was 8:07pm, the hours posted on the door said open until 8:30pm, and there were 4 other customers in the store along with us. Not to mention the online hours are posted incorrectly, as they say open everyday until 9pm. We then had to pay upwards of $20 for our 2 bowls of frozen yogurt with zero toppings and go to the store for our own. As someone who has worked in the service industry for years, I know how things should be done, and putting half of the toppings you offer away 30+ minutes early (when there are multiple customers inside) is not it. This employee has permanently changed my opinion of cherry on top and I am unsure if I will be returning because of it. read more

We wanted to like Cherry on Top. We tried to like Cherry on Top. But somewhere between the first disappointing bite of frozen yogurt and the mountain of single-use plastic waste, things took a turn for the porky. Let's start with the flavors. The so-called "original tart" was less tart and more coconut catastrophe. It tasted like someone dropped a scoop of sunscreen into the mix and hoped for the best. The other options weren't much better--either weirdly artificial or flat-out forgettable. If you're looking for a rich, refreshing froyo experience... this ain't it. But what really stuck in our teeth (besides the mediocre yogurt) was the plastic problem. Every topping came in its own individually packaged container. It was like a mini landfill on our tray. Unnecessary, wasteful, and honestly, probably raising their costs for no reason. For a self-serve yogurt place, it felt weirdly un-serve-yourself. Not to mention it completely kills the vibe of casual, fun dessert with friends when you're sitting there peeling plastic lids like you're opening rations in a froyo fallout shelter. We're not here to hate--this is constructive criticism. We genuinely want Cherry on Top to succeed. But for that to happen, something has to change: 1. Rethink your packaging--you can be clean and safe without drowning in plastic. 2. Rework your recipes--especially that "original tart." Seriously. 3. Revamp your vibe--froyo should feel fun, not frustrating. We hope to come back someday and rewrite this review with a cherry on top of a much better experience. Froyo! After walking from store to store, it was tiring. A cool treat was calling my name. I went into Cherry on Top for a frozen yogurt. The first thing to do is check the flavors. They have at least 6 (if not more) different flavors. I got a cup and honed in on strawberry lemonade sorbet and raspberry pomegranate. The sorbet was a bit runny but both flavors were distinct. The pomegranate was tangy and satisfying. I sat in the A/C store watching the huge flat screen with silly and funny videos while enjoying my treat. The staff was nice and welcoming. The way they make you buy a prepackaged amount of toppings is not ideal. You end up paying for way more of a topping you only wanted a sprinkle of. Also, you are not allowed to sample on your own like a place like Zoyo. The weight doesn't take into account for the plastic topping container, so you are paying for that weight as well. $20 for three people to get frozen yogurt seems a bit ridiculous. One of the best parts about frozen yogurt is getting to have different toppings, but the way they do it here they take that away from you. It's 2024, I understand during covid to take precautions, but for this to still be the case it just doesn't make sense. read more

Cherry On Top is a good yogurt place in Cave Creek even though it tastes more like ice cream. It was very crowded inside, but the outside seating was calming. It's also hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. The flavors are very good also. The toppings are good, but they come in these plastic containers witch on the scale adds to the total. I've never been to a place where the toppings are pre-measured for you. This was a very bizarre experience for sure! I'm wondering if this was a Covid precaution that never went away? But every other place I've ever been let's you choose how much of your own topping rather than pre-portioning. With the surplus of frozen yogurt shops across the valley, Cherry On Top is just okay and even more "just okay" due to the price. Four yogurts, two without toppings and one with barely any, one with some, nearly $40!!! I didn't love the selection of flavors as there weren't many to chose from but you can't go wrong with classic, right? I'm a big frozen yogurt fan and the texture to me was kind of just bleh. I felt it could have been colder and smoother and wish we had gone elsewhere. I don't feel you get your money's worth here. read more

I have been a frequent customer at Cherry on Top for years! My kids love it and my husband and I do as well. We love all the flavors and appreciate that the toppings come in little containers so I can let my kids each pick out their toppings without making a mess. Today we went in to support the Lone Mountain Elementary School Fundraiser. It was quite busy with kids from school when a young man came in and the owner said: "I will buy your ice cream today".......I was so surprised and impressed! She told me he works at Safeway and he is saving up for a car. She said he is so polite and is such a hard worker. Cherry on Top is a small business we should all be supporting as the owner is helping our community by encouraging young people who are hard working, self motivated young men and women to keep up the hard work! You would think seeing a little eight-year-old boy standing at your door hoping to get his ice cream on a hot summer day would matter to the people that own this place and work here. The employee literally ignored him at the door, even though they should've opened 10 minutes earlier and then she just disappeared into a back room. We went elsewhere because we're not giving our money to businesses that can't even open up on time and show a complete disregard for a little boy waiting to get his ice cream at the locked door. My son kept looking at his watch not understanding why it was 12:10 in the afternoon and they still hadn't opened even though the sign that he read on the door stated they open at noon. Great little place! They have the brilliant idea of a cup divider. It makes it easier to get non-complementary flavors since you know they be touching.
