If you're driving, be aware the parking lot is small so you may have to park and walk over if you don't feel like waiting for a spot. When I walked in there were a lot of people waiting but I overheard the wait was 5 minutes for a party of 2 so it sounds like the table turnover is fast. Since I was solo, I sat at the bar where there was plenty of seating available. I ordered the Lumberjack breakfast and it was hearty! Where have all the diners gone ?! I stumbled upon this little gem coming from the nail salon . It's a classic diner that is ALWAYS crowded on the weekend . It's noisy and cozy . Diners have menus that are ridiculously large and I always wonder how can they be good at cooking everything on the menu . But if you're like me , there are a few staples that I stick to . Breakfast ! The waffles , pancakes and bacon are great . But I'm an egg girl . I can get them cooked to perfection ( scrambled soft ) or they make a great eggs and salmon Benedict . The only downside is they only serve hash browns ( which are delicious!) but I'm more of a grits girl . If you like soft bagels this is your place . The coffee is good and you get feee refills . The parking lot is really small and narrowly shaped but there's plenty of street parking nearby. We ordered: * Breakfast Quesadilla ($15.50) * Irish Breakfast ($15.95) * Farmer's Omelette ($14.95) * Cheese Blintzes ($12.95) * Large Orange Juice ($4.50) spent roughly $80 with tip. Service here was great, we had a kind server and staff was on point with refilling coffee (which was freshly brewed and not burnt!) I loved my breakfast quesadilla. The mushrooms and jalapeños with the grilled chicken breast covered in mozzarella goodness kept me full all morning. I love how it comes with sour cream, mild salsa, and guacamole. The cheese blintzes were great, it was a good mixture of salty, sweet, and savory, especially when you pair it with the sour cream or applesauce or a combination of both. First time I went I ordered two eggs scrambled with home fries and buttered whole wheat toast. Very good but a bit expensive for what it was. Second time I ordered the meatball parmigiana hero. Delicious tho it did make a bit gassy. Haha!! The bread was so soft and it melts in your mouth. With tax it was $13 even. I like this place but would probably only go if I was sure I had extra money. This place had the best reviews for area diners so we stopped in for breakfast before heading to JFK. They had a small parking area for guest (maybe 6 spots) so we didn't have to look for parking. As soon as we walked in, I noticed the place was very clean, we were greeted by our server and she sat us at a booth. Another server came around and he poured us coffee. Our server came back and took our order, I ordered the lumber jack (pancakes, 2 eggs, sausage, bacon and ham) My friend got 2 eggs, hash, sausage and rye toast. Our order came out in less than 10 mins, my lumber lack was delicious, had a stack of 3 pancakes, a nice sized sausage, 4 strips of crispy but not burnt bacon, and the ham was good too. Eggs were a perfect sunny side up, so I could get the runny yolk coated over my pancakes and sides. My friends food looked good and he enjoyed his meal as well. Coffee guy came around a few times offering refills and our server always checked on us to make sure we were good. I've been to some terrible diner's, this one was perfect as was exactly what I wanted and expected. I also liked that the menu wasn't a novel, it was 2 pages and easy to read, not cluttered with everything they have to offer. They probably give you a different one for lunch and dinner time because I didn't see any sandwiches or burgers listed on the one we received. I didn't care cause we came for breakfast. Enjoyed my experience here from start to finish. The diner is clean but small. The parking lot is limited but on a Saturday evening we were able to get a space. Prices are reasonable compared to other diners these days. Service is personal and cordial. We had a Tilapia entree and a Trout Entree both accompanied by excellent choices of potato and vegetable and salad or soup (we had salad). The Trout was one of the best fish entrees I've had ANYWHERE. It was perfectly cooked with capers, olives, and tomatoes and some feta cheese as well. Dessert was one of the best carrot cakes ever! This is one of my favorite diners to go to in Queens! Although I haven't been there in a while due to COVID, I used to go there every Saturday morning and get myself a booth and sit there for hours. Shocked at all the 5 star reviews but maybe I'm just super picky. Definitely had a diner vibe as soon as you walk in. We started with nachos which were nasty. The cheese literally smelled like feet. They served us nachos in a bowl that had clearly been put in the microwave with smelly cheese on it. All the toppings were given to us on plates on the side. It was just a weird presentation. For my meal I ordered the chicken Caesar wrap. As we were eating the nachos, the waitress put a side of Cole slaw and a pickle in front of me. I don't eat Cole slaw much but I would never touch their version. It looked literally like a bowl of white liquid with cabbage and raisins in it. Ew. Even The pickle was gross!! The wrap wasn't anything special and they must use cheap caesar dressing because it was super liquidy as well - my plate looked like a puddle of white liquid once I was done eating. I've passed by this well known neighborhood institution a zillion times but never ate here. Until recently, when working in the area and I stopped in for a late breakfast/early lunch. Parking was easy. The service when I entered was just fine. I was greeted immediately and taken to a table. The waiter came by quickly and took my order. I ordered a cheddar cheese omelet with fries & rye toast. I was pleasantly surprised when my food arrived in very good time. That was the end of my pleasant surprises. The omelet was small, and it wasn't hot. It was lukewarm at best. It didn't taste bad, it actually tasted ok, but certainly would have been better if hot. The fries were hot but the portion size was also pretty small. Again, they tasted pretty good, but would have been better if there had been more. Where this diner lost the most points with me was the bathroom. They had 2 bathrooms and I must have chosen the wrong one. I tried several times to lock it but couldn't. The door just wouldn't lock. I then tried the other one but it was occupied. So I went back to the one with the broken lock and took care of my business as fast as I could. Luckily, nobody tried to get in. In conclusion, decent food, but not enough of it. Fix the bathroom lock. read more

We wanted to venture out of our small neighborhood this morning and Jeffrey also wanted a bagel with lox. The Classic Diner popped up on our Yelp so we said what the hell lets try it out. It was amazing! Walking in you are right in the heart of the istle and bustle. They were pretty busy but as we ate our breakfast we saw why. I ordered a waffle well done and bacon that was medium. (weird I know, but I douse the waffle with pancake syrup). The waffle was cooked perfectly the bacon was a little bit too crispy though. Not really to my liking but Jeffrey ate it. Not a big deal. He ordered a bagel with cream cheese and lox. It looked amazing. Has everything on the side of it, cucumbers, onions, lettuce, tomato, kalamata olives, bell peppers, and cream cheese. What a spread! He loved it. After we were done eating I saw on the counter that they had a selection of fresh-baked muffins. I ordered a blueberry one to-go. Sadly I forgot to take a photo until I wolfed it down (in less than 30 seconds! LOL) It was amazing. All in all, we are so glad we found out about TCD. We will definitely be back! read more
