Amazing get the buffet it's so good yesterday was my first time there I want to go back again. You will not be disappointed.

My father drove me nearly an hour to this location. Restaurant is in shopping center, nothing fancy, and this building clearly used to be something else. Now it is a wide open, roomy place for many to enjoy the all-you-can eat bar full of southern home cooking. All kinds of southern meats, veggies, breads. There is a nice salad bar if that is your thing. If you have any room left, there are also a section full of deserts from chocolate pie, banana pudding, and several fruit cobblers. I had two servings with no repeats. It was pretty good, loved the fried chicken and fried pork chops, but the hog jowl was a bit salty for me....not how I remember it when I was a kid. Restaurant was huge and reminiscent of a school cafeteria with no frills. Restaurant and bathroom very clean. Cons: Buffet choices were extensive but hot food was only a "hint" of warm. Country fried steak was very mushy. Country fried ham was dried out & overcooked. Boxed mac & cheese with the squeeze pouch cheese is better than theirs. Strawberry & peach cobblers had way too much liquid and peaches were cut too small and mushy, with underbaked doughy top crusts. The Highlights: The server brought out a pan of freshly prepared country ham that was dumped on top of the ham in the serving tray. It was hot, not overcooked, and delicious. The fried chicken was very good. The salad bar was extensive with every imaginable ingredient. Refrigerated case with good selection of sliced cream pies. This restaurant is worth the drive from Lexington. It has a great buffet and you can also order from the menu. We love the buffet. They have a wonderful selection and the food is always hot and plentiful. They keep the buffet table filled. The servers at the buffet and the dining rooms are excellent. Even the cashiers are friendly. Plenty of seating available. Many choices available for salads and dessert also. I am not a big fan of Buffets, but my husband is. I do have to say everything I had to eat here was very good. We attend an Antique Motorcycle show here once a year and Classic will be on our go to list from now on. The interior is like a big open cafeteria with banquet chairs and tables. read more

You know that feeling you get when you're heading to one of those restaurants that's been on your "Foodie Bucket List" for a while? Definitely was there as we headed to Denton to try out this "All You Can Eat Buffet", supposedly loaded with Southern cooking gems. The written reviews are very positive for the most part, and I talked to an individual that loves the place, even chose it for his birthday dinner. Seemed safe, but once again anticipation proved to be greater than realization. The restaurant is a little awkwardly laid out, resulting in a maze like sensation as you head to the main seating area in the back. Once there, the restaurant is rather large and open, but there is little soft and fuzzy here, rather functional and with little comfort in the seating area, literally. The buffet is in a rectangular segment near a side wall, and the quarters are somewhat close, putting skilled maneuvering at a bit of a premium. The buffet is fairly large, with the meats offered today being, Fried Chicken, Baked Ham (coarse chopped into chunks), Steak & Gravy, Country Ham, Fried Pork Chops, and even Fried Fat Back! Corn Bread and Biscuits were on the buffet too. The vegetables included Corn, Lima Beans, Mashed Potatoes (not home made), Pintos, Field Peas, and Fried Okra. There is a salad bar, with greens, some raw veggies, potato salad, pasta salad, etc. The only salad dressings available were Ranch & Thousand Island, and in general, this was an uninteresting area. There is a Dessert Bar as well with Banana Pudding (just pudding, no fresh cut banana), Strawberry Cobble, Apple Pie, and a variety of pie - Chocolate, Lemon Chess, etc. For the most part, this is average food, especially the vegetables and the desserts. The mashed potatoes were definitely not home made, and all the other veggies were canned or frozen, and uniformly under-seasoned - very disappointing. The Steak & Gravy was not good at all, the taste close to unpleasant. The Fried Chicken, Baked Ham,, and the Fried Pork Chops were pretty good. The Country Ham was not bad, and the Fried Fat Back was interesting, but a very little goes a long way, even wrapped in a nice biscuit. The Corn Bread and Biscuits were very nice, but the desserts were also very average, with little depth of flavor. The best of the lot was the Strawberry Cobbler which did have some nice, sharp flavor. The buffet cost $10.60 for all you can eat, which is a touch pricey when compared with Pioneer Family Restaurant, up the road in High Point (lunch is $6.95 less desserts). All in all, it is a bit of a stretch to get to 3 stars. Nice folks, great service, and an interesting experience, but not one we're likely to repeat. I went today at the urging of a friend who wanted to go back. I can say I was not disappointed....just full! The friend chicken, all veggies, salad bar, and cobblers, pies, and naner pudding were all awesome. My friend had a different plate and it was amazing as well. ALL of the waitresses and staff were just so friendly and helpful. I saw a post comparing this restaurant to the Pioneer Restaurant in Archdale, NC and there is no comparison. Great place to eat at. Great service and love the people that work there. Never have to ask for a refill on drinks water if whatever. Food is great. Fried Chicken is awesome. If your looking for a place here classic is great. The only thing I would like that they don't have is ice cream. They need to get a ice cream machine so that people can get soft serve ice cream. This is one of the finest buffets that I have been to bar none. Southern cooking is the fare and theirs is outstanding. I am lucky that I live as far away as I do, as I would be there once a week without fail otherwise. My wife loves the vegetables and I love the meats. No credit card, so bring cash. I went this weekend and the place was overflowing, due to holiday parties. The food did not suffer though, which I found to be impressive. The Classic has reopened!!! If you love home-cooking and I mean really great just like my mother's make you cry it's so good home-cooking then this is the place for you. It's primarily a buffet with vegetables, meats, casseroles, salad, desserts, and even pizza. However, I do believe they offer short-order from the kitchen. This is not like many of the dumpy and dirty buffets around. This place is the cleanest I have ever attended and with the shiniest stainless steel I ever seen. They literally have people waiting to wipe up anything that may be spilled. You will not find food on the floor, on the sides of the buffet trays, kids sneezing under the splash guards. NO! This is like the only buffet I will take part in because the workers are standing there making certain people are being respectful. I can't say enough good things about the food, the beautiful building, the cleanliness, and their family-friendly atmosphere. And the price is very affordable! I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. It's a little bit of a haul down Hwy 109 towards Denton, NC but it's well worth the drive. Just keep some Tums on hand because you will overeat!!! I was passing through Denton and decided I needed to try this much revered, much praised restaurant. I wasn't let down! As others have said it's not like dining in a traditional eatery, more like having a meal in a church basement. It's a large, well lit space with minimal decor and dozens of four top tables that seem to have been set up at the last minute. The buffet is AYCE, although discounts are available if you limit yourself to one trip depending on what you order. I had the full experience. Beef stew (top notch), country ham (salty but good), yummy roasted potatoes, mac and cheese, pizza (likely there for picky kids but it was still tasty). The server was unfailingly attentive with iced tea refills every few minutes. The cashier was friendly too. Despite older reviews I was told by an employee that they DO take cards. Although I live in Greensboro The Classic may justify a road trip just for dinner now and then. I'm not normally a buffet kinda girl but my boyfriend is. This place was recommended so we gave it a try. The place is like a big cafeteria. I usually like small cozy places but it was clean, simple, and nice. Our waitress was awesome, constantly refilling our waters, and answering my questions. The cashier was really sweet too.. Niw let's get to the food... they make their own biscuits, light and fluffy, according to my boyfriend who ate his fair share. Fried chicken, corn, lima beans, green beans, mashed potatoes, picked cucumber salad...everything was very good. No shortage of food here! There was about 200 guests there but it didn't feel that busy because the place is so big and they are very organized and the bar never ran out of food. I stopped here after attending the Carolina Pickers Antique festival and I'm glad I did. This is a buffet style restaurant that serves what I would describe as good country food. They had many vegetables, pulled pork, country ham, fried chicken and biscuits. In addition they had a nice salad bar and several hot and cold desserts. I liked everything that I had. Instead of driving to Shatley Springs. This is a nice drive if you are within 45 miles of this place definitely worth the trip. Come hungry because it is a rather large spread especially on Sunday. It reminds me of homecoming at a really nice old church. Has Fellowship Hall type of seating. All the waitress staff here uses teamwork to handle such a massive crowd here. Don't be worried if you see a full parking lot. I've never waited more than 15 minutes here even on Sunday. Mr. Smith and your crew is to be commended. I am a 20-year Navy veteran and used to inspect restaurants and motels in the Navy for a brief time when I was a hospital corpsman. I also was a hard dog and was a fleet medical corpsman with the Marines. And I will tell you I highly recommend this place. They have the three C's of diners and dives. Which is cost effectiveness, cleanliness and some of the best customer service you will find east of the Mississippi. They are open Thursday through Sunday. Find it a little cheaper at lunch time hours. However this is the place to come on Sunday they can handle the very large crowds. You can't go wrong eating here. One word: Buffet. They have everything on the buffet line. Good old down home southern comfort food. I wanted something light, since I was on a lunch break, so I went for the all you can eat salad. The salad bar was plentiful but they only had shredded lettuce and no other varieties of roughage.
