My newest food fixation is the Sesame Cauliflower from Peppers in Jamestown. I cannot stop thinking about it. The perfectly cooked soft center, the crisp exterior, and the sticky ssssaaaaauce it's covered in... It's savory and heavy enough to be a meal but I was being generous and decided to share the appetizer with my spouse. They do offer a spice scale and they don't hold back. I foolishly tried the spice level 3 (out of 5 being the hottest) and should have chosen a 2 spice level. But the cauli was so good I fought through the pain. Worth it. I could have easily stopped there but we also ordered the garlic naan (also yessssss) as well as the Lamb Korma and Chicken Vindaloo. Both those entrees were delicious but the Korma really stood out to me. The rich and creamy sauce was very unique to my pallet and when I returned, I ordered the Chicken Korma. Clearly I love a good sauce. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, very spacious and would be great for groups or a romantic dinner for 2 (or 3 if you are into that sort of thing). The service was excellent and our server was patient when we ask questions about the menu. Fortunately, a lot of the dishes have descriptions on the menu so you have a good idea of what you are ordering. After a year of living in the area, I finally got around to trying Peppers, and WOW is it good. It is definitely my new favorite Indian restaurant, and even in my top 5 local restaurants in general! From the moment we walked in the door, the staff were kind, friendly, and attentive. We were seated immediately, and given time/space to look over the menu, but with our server still hovering nearby in case we had questions or were ready quickly. When we ordered, the server explained the 1-5 spice scale, gave recommendations, and even asked about allergies. After the food came out, he continued to check on us. This is definitely not one of those "abandoned in the corner and ignored" type of establishments. We started with an order of chili paneer, with spice level 2. It was perfectly crunchy and super flavorful. Level 2 has a nice kick to it if you sit for a minute between bites, but it doesn't necessarily light you up either. It is a great level if you're sharing something with someone a little more spice-hesitant. I love paneer, and this appetizer had a generous portion that could easily be a meal for 1 person. For my main, I got the Chana masala, spice level 3. This was absolutely delicious! Spicy, warm, flavorful. Chickpeas had the perfect texture -- not too hard nor too mushy. As a spicy food enjoyer, level 3 was a nice level that is hot and ~just~ starts to make my face flush, but isn't overpowering. A "conversational" level if you will. I could easily order this on a work lunch and could still eat with decorum. We also got garlic naan, which is always a hit, but done absolutely perfectly here. Excellent lunch experience here, despite this place being so close to me, I had not been here yet (mostly due to my wife not being super big on Indian cuisine). This building was the same thing for decades, but recently has changed hands a couple times, landing most recently on Peppers... and man, I hope it stays Peppers! It looks like they do a Sunday buffet, and I am going to have to add that to my calendar. There weren't any lunch special combos per se, I think the picture taken on that is sadly out of date. Regardless, I just ordered from the regular menu for lunch and did pretty well. I opted for an order of Garlic Naan, because that is something I won't dine without at an Indian restaurant. For my meal, I went with the chef's assorted platter (listed as an appetizer but makes a great meal), because I love variety. This dish comes with a samosa, both chicken and veggie pakora, chicken tikka and malai, and a lamb seekh kebab. This was perfect for lunch. First of all, the garlic naan was absolute perfection. Came out nice and warm, perfect texture, soft and a little stretchy. Robust garlic flavor. I could have basically eaten anything with this to eat with it. Wow. My chef's selection plate was the perfect amount for lunch with the naan. Little bits of everything, all of it good, though the lamb kebab definitely stood out above the chicken dishes. I also really liked the veggie pakora. I received excellent service and could not have been happier with the food. I hope more people take note and come here! read more

First taste of Indian food and I'm hooked! Peppers has now been added to my regular rotation of yummy restaurants near me! The restaurant was empty on a weekday night which had me nervous at first, but I'm glad it did not deter me. The service was fantastic, restaurant clean with a nice table setting, and the food even better. I started with the chili paneer which is now one of my favorite foods! It was perfectly crunchy and slightly spicy but definitely wish we had done a higher level (only picked 2 to be safe but goes up to 5 I think!). Will be getting more next time I go! The butter chicken paneer seemed like a safe option and I couldn't have enjoyed it more! It was delicious, creamy, with a slight floral taste? It seemed different at first but I grew to like it the more I ate. I added a side of the garlic naan which was the perfect addition to this extremely saucy dish. The service was absolutely wonderful, with the waiter explaining everything well, informing us of spice levels and asking about nut allergies depending on the dish being ordered. First time visiting this spot, and a bit sad it's taken me so long to go. We stopped in today for a delicious lunch. We arrived shortly after noon and were one of only 2 groups there. We were greeted by the hostess/waitress who also sat us quickly provided menus and brought water. It's a small spot, but nicely decorated with art from India. They had a large menu, I was a little disappointed they didn't have a lunch menu, so it was a little pricey, but the portions were large and provided both my wife and I enough for another small meal later. I ordered the butter chicken and garlic naan. Since it was not busy the food came out quickly and was very good, probably some of the best butter chicken I've had in a long time! We were both very impressed with our meals and as I mentioned, the portions were very fair considering the price. The waitress was great, very attentive and checked on us regularly. I will definitely be returning to this spot again, and suggest anyone who likes Indian food give it a try! read more

This was my first time eating at Peppers Indian Grill and Bar, and it did not disappoint. The place looked great inside--clean, modern, and welcoming. The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. I was there with my coworkers, and everyone absolutely loved their food. I was happy to see that aside of changing the name not much seems changed. The food was still terrific! They have a buffet on weekends that I hope to check out soon, and just look at the dosa! It's the size of an infant! Seemed like they might be changing the decor over some to something that speaks Indian restaurant more so than the ubiquitous theme that's been in place. I recall the service was fine too though maybe a bit inattentive for an empty restaurant. Quite friendly though. I'm not sure if the ownership changed hands considering the name change. Met a friend her for lunch. When we drove up we were not sure if they were open. The parking lot looked abandoned as grass and weeds are growing in the cracked asphalt. No cars out front. Don't let that stop you. We walked in to a very simple set up of booths and tables. Very clean! We were seated and served our drinks right away. WOW! Our food was sooooo good!!! My chicken Tandoori was tender with shredded veggies along with jasmine rice. Definitely more food than I could eat so brought it home for lunch the next day. This is a diamond in the rough. If I judged by the outside I would have never found this gem. The restaurant is clean, no nonsense with delicious food. They do take out as well!!! Cannot wait to go back! read more

I was sad to see the frequently excellent and just as frequently understaffed Namaste Lumbini close its doors. Thankfully, Peppers, which opened in the same spot, retains some of the Nepalese offerings. Add to that some experienced hands in both the front and back of house as well as a buffet, and there's a lot of potential here. My wife and I stopped by on a Sunday to try the aforementioned buffet, and we were impressed with the variety of offerings. There were multiple soups and chicken dishes, a paneer, a lamb, a biryani, a fish, several apps, salads, desserts, and even multiple beverage options, all of which were conveniently labelled. At $17ish per person, it was a good value. Though the buffet side of the restaurant was fairly busy, the hard-working staff did a good job of keeping up with the demand: none of the buffet stations stayed empty for long. As with Namaste Lumbini before it, the food at Peppers is better than you'd expect. The succulent tandoori chicken was among the best versions I've had, and the watermelon drink was very refreshing. Certain dishes (i.e. the fish) had a lot of tiny bones, but blame nature rather than Peppers for that one. I don't know if Peppers will have staying power, but given what their kitchen is capable of, one can hope. In the meantime, I look forward to returning for chicken 65, jhol momo, and other favorites while I can. read more

We had friends introduce us to Peppers this weekend and we are so glad they did! We ordered appetizers and four entrees. We loved the fact they had several vegan choices. I ordered the Chicken Korma and it was fantastic. The only thing that would have made this visit a bit better would be to deliver drinks to the table a little faster. Pepper's is a little hidden gem located in Jamestown serving delicious dishes of North and South Indian cuisine. I stopped in for lunch today and got some Chicken Tikka Masala with a side of Garlic Naan. They served the Masala with a side of basmati. It was all very delicious and flavorful. This is my third time coming here now and each time the food has tasted really fresh and made to order. My server was kind and attentive to what I requested. My meal came out in a timely fashion and it all was delicious. It's a laid back atmosphere that has a bar area, dining room, and even a private back room for larger parties. They no longer have a lunch special menu so that was a little disappointing but they do have a buffet on the weekends. If you're craving Indian food definitely give Peppers a go. This place is next to the bread factory and across Main St from some shuttered businesses. It isn't much to look at from the outside (or inside for that matter) but the food is tasty and it's quick. We've eaten at Peppers a dozen times or more and, while it isn't our favorite Indian place, it's easy to get to, reliable and does the job. They seem to do a brisk take out business though we've always dined in. The buffet on the weekends is ok but the butter chicken is pretty on point. The service is sufficiently nice and the kitchen turns out the food fairly quickly. read more

We visited peppers on a Saturday for the lunch buffet and Dosa. The selection was pretty standard. A curry, masala, biryani etc. They were options for both vegetarians and non. the chicken Biryani and the other ruces were cold. The paneer masala was very good. They also had a coconut lemonade available which was pretty good. If we went back, I think we'd skip the buffet and try the rest of the menu. read more

We visited tonight for the first time. We were greeted by our host/server Kephas. He did an excellent job taking care of the front of the house. Since we hadn't been before, we ordered several dishes to try out. We started with a plain dosa, which came with sambar and coconut chutney. That was a nice surprise since many Indian restaurants aren't equipped to prepare dosa. We also ordered samosas. The order came with 2, which was enough, because they were a good size. They were highly spiced, which was nice, because I've had bland ones before. For our main meal, which came out really quickly, I ordered the butter chicken (medium heat), and my husband ordered the chicken vindaloo (hot). Both did not disappoint. We also tried the garlic cheese naan, which was the best I've ever had. We finished ip with some freshly made in-house mango ice cream, the perfect finish for all the heat. This was our first visit to this restaurant for a late lunch. We were greeted by AJ, the manager, and seated promptly. The decor reflects the history of the building which was a diner in a previous life. AJ told us there were plans to completely renovate and update the interior. The present management took over the operation 5 days earlier. We started off with coconut shrimp and the chef's appetizer sampler (vegetable pakora, chicken tandoori, fried chicken strips and other fried vegetable balls). Hot and tasty throughout. Entrees included goat curry (3/5 heat) which was full of delicious soft meat in a thick rich sauce. Hardly a bone. I could have bumped it up to 4/5, but the wife wanted some and is a 1/5 kind of woman. She thought it was terrific as well. The chicken tandoori was moist, hot, well-seasoned and presented on sizzling roasting pan. Just perfect. Garlic naan was steaming hot, light and garlicky. The aloo paratha was too greasy. Mango chutney, raita, and pillowy basmati rice rounded out the meal. Kir, a tasty spiced rice pudding, ended the encounter. Service was good and staff was very friendly. I ordered food from grubhub delivery. The order was correct, and the food was amazing! I ordered mild because I wasn't sure how spicy it would be alone. I asked for spices on the side , but did not receive any(it could be that they aren't dry spices) . But I was ok with that- because the food was delicious!! I will order medium spice next time. I bought the chicken vindaloo which came with jasmine rice - delicious? Hubby got the shrimp fried rice - he loved it- I don't like shrimp that much - but I love the fried rice that came with it with mixed onions/ veggies- so good! Wow. Just wow. Literally the best wings both me and my boyfriend have ever tasted. The freshness was divine and the seasoning was just perfection that lingered in my mouth pleasantly afterwards. Beautifully seasoned!!! I also had the chicken soup and the rice that accompanied it was soooo tasty! I had an explosion of flavors in my mouth every bite of this food that I tasted.
