came for the weekend early bird brunch and it was great for the price and portion! very pub like establishment so don't be afraid to be casual here. staff aren't particularly kind or pleased to wait on you either - keep low expectations to say the least. Thought we'd try a new place. Won't be back. The waitress was slow, did not appear to care that we were not happy with food. And just plain grumpy. Chicken wings- the size of a small kitkat, overcooked leaving the meat dried out. Dry ribs- where's the meat? Overcooked and basically got dried out bones. Popcorn- deep fried??? Guess it was popped in a lot of oil. A lot of oil. The deck was nice enough, but needs work on the seating (sink badly into the couches, and covered in food crumbs.) It really is too bad, cause we were looking for a new place to enjoy. We'll keep searching. read more

It must have been a bad afternoon for us. My friend ordered the beef sliders and I ordered the dry garlic ribs. All he said about the sliders is he wasn't impressed and he wouldn't order them again. My dry garlic ribs were another matter. They arrived when my friend was almost done his 3 sliders. They were dry alright. Clearly my order had been forgotten. The worst, dried out, inedible little ribs I have ever had. The garlic, while fresh, was chopped way too coarsely and just burned my mouth. I have had dry garlic ribs many times in my life and these were below sub-par. Will never order them again. I was starving and only choked back a few of these. Pub is awesome for nice sunny days on the Patio . They will take reservations for specified seats in advance ! They will also hold them for over an hour past the time booked . When we arrived there were at least three nice tables on the south side deck with reservations . They sat empty the whole time . Food was good , table was ok ( we didn't reserve ) Down side is if you actually want to get a table on the patio , the waitresses will not let you sit in these mostly reserved prime seats ,unless you agree to leave when the patrons arrive. (Kind of a pain) There were a number of people that came and left not having any luck with seating . And still the reserved sat empty . Catering to people that may or may not show up ,rather than those there with money in hand ? Hard to believe someone actually gets paid to make these decisions that would negatively the bottom line of the pub and the servers ...... Came here during happy hour. Wasn't as busy the day we went. I ended up getting 1 taco from the happy hour menu.. no lime or sauce on the side... so I asked for some hot sauce. The lady came back with franks hot sauce... with a taco... which is not ideal... then the server goes oh we have Valentina too.. I thought servers are suppose to give u options if they do have it? But I guess this establishment they didn't. To me that's like adding rum instead of vodka in a Caesar... didn't make sense. But oh well. We had: Wings in Salt & Pepper with Fried Dill Pickles, one word : YUM!! Both are perfect to go along with your brew! Clayton Burger : Good honest beef patty, still juicy and comes with the great char taste of being grilled at the right temperature. Not greasy at all! I really like the Brioche and the Garlic Mayo! Beef Short Ribs : Kudos to the Chefs, this is a quality dish! The beef is tender and still juicy, not over cooked to be dry and stringy, presentation is top notch! The beef sauce is rich, perfectly matched to the beef and the mashed potatoes. At $17.00 this dish is well worth the money! Serve is friendly and attentive! Clayton PH is your classic pub. A great place to watch the really good drink specials, and food options for most diet types! Their menu is quite extensive! Prices are reasonable and the service is efficient! Came here with friends and had a wonderful time! We almost missed their awesome happy hour but luckily took advantage of it. A really classic joint! When we were paying, we ended up with the wrong bill and payed it! We didn't realize until after. The GM personally contacted us and gave us 2 gift cards for the inconvenience. It was above and beyond customer service and completely unexpected. Food was good, we were hungry so lacking photos but had the Artisan Green Salad, so good! Lightly dressed and really flavourful! Also had crab cakes, good chunks of crab, well cooked! First time at Clayton's and we really enjoyed it. It was Father's Day and we were in time for Happy Hour. Everything was good especially their Coconut Shrimp, Chicken Wings, Beef Dip and Spaghetti and Meatballs. The only downside was we waited for our food for an hour. First time here and must say the food was awesome. Service was great as well. After finding a piece of metal in my burger, they comped the whole bill and gave us a $50 gift certificate for a future visit. Over and above to correct something that only affected one plate. Wow. This place has had a complete over-haul since its days as The Loft & not a single grimey piece of carpet was left unchanged! Hand made wood tables, exposed brick walls & classic lighting. It's cozy and absolutely stunning with a huge projector screen & TVs in every direction. The food, of course, is fantastic. I tried a few dishes and can't wait to try more! Their pizza is hand tossed and fluffy, they threw a delicious twist with loaded potato spring rolls, their Cajun chicken burger was juicy and fresh, the tuna tataki had rave reviews all around and my favorite, the hot & fresh garlic fries but I've barely broken the surface on this menu. The cocktail list MIGHT be even better. Don't leave here without tasting the Walter White Martini or the Swashbuckler cocktail. Came here for a paint nite the other week with my mom and boyfriend. I had the chicken caesar salad but I wish I ordered something else. It was mediocre at best and there were definitely other things on the menu I wanted to try. My mom ordered wings and garlic fries and she really liked them. I tried a few of her garlic fries and hoooly were they strong. You could smell the garlic as the server brought them over. My boyfriend ordered the steak and he said it was decent but not great. If you go here I would recommend sticking to the pub food (wings,fries,nachos,etc). The good: Excellent tap selection with taster flights available, super friendly and helpful staff, well-designed space. The bad: * Prices are high. No daily features or happy hour specials to speak of. The only special that night was four dollars off any bottles of wine. * Menu offered is different than the one posted on the website. * Food was bland. Fries came as a mix of semi-fresh and old, needed salt but there was no salt and pepper on the table. The salmon burger was lacking any flavour. I could see what they were trying to do with the tzatziki sauce instead of tartar/ other but just wasn't working. Lacked zing. * Entry is hard to find * Ergonomics of the booths are way off- love a good both, but there is nothing worse than being in a cramped space where the seat height is not synced with the table height/ distance. We moved to a table The ugly My salmon burger came on a large glazed bun but I couldn't see the salmon portion at all so I lifted up the lettuce to see a pencil thin slice of salmon in the middle of this massive bun! It was hilarious, wish I'd got a photo but caught it before the waitress left the table so she grabbed it immediately and brought it back to the kitchen for a redo- leaving me to munch on my old/ semi-old bland fries... the replacement arrived reasonably quickly but in the end it turned a one course meal into an unnecessary two course meal. To recap Nothing was completely terrible... but a mix of bland food and higher than average prices are dictating I won't be back unless I hear some substantiated excellent word of mouth that the food has improved dramatically.... read more

This new pub is just a few weeks old. We come to this location once per year or two as it continues to change owners. Tonight was our second time. The place looks nice. Has a new feel. Open layout with lots of tv's for nfl / nhl and other. The menu is pretty typical with strange descriptors referencing breaking bad and other. The food prices are slightly higher than avg, and their doubles of Seagrams house whisky were $8.25 each. They offer no happy hour or food/drink specials. Tonight we had Carissa as our server and she was great. Very attentive, concerned and friendly. We ordered the butter/cider hot wings which were ok but mild in flavour. We also ordered the potato spring rolls.....eeeh. Our server could see we were having an issue with them and was able to keep us happy. Rolling up plain, unseasoned mash potatoes in a phyllo pastry is strange and bland. They come with a sprinkle of cheese over top and sit in a standard sweet chilli sauce. Anyway, it didn't make sense to my gf and I. Btw, the homemade thin-crust pizza is good, but not thin crust. "They're still practicing " We tried it last time and saw a few go buy us tonight. Aside from the service, The Clayton Public house didn't win us over after two visits. When we pay good money for food and drinks, it should be fresh, delicious and have a some original options. This place would have gotten 5 stars a few months ago. They did a complete renovation and overhaul of the place. It was great! Huge selection of great beers on tap. I loved getting the flights. The best part was the menu, huge selection and great quality food. But recently, they cut the menu in half, plus the quality of the food went straight in the trash. This place had the best pizzas! Fresh thin crust, great toppings. My favourite was the prawn and pesto pizza. Now, the pizza tastes like some nasty $3 frozen pizza. I've had more flavourful cardboard. Toppings are a soggy mess too. Management needs to put a stop to having patrons of all ages needing to provide ID at the door. I can understand under aged looking customers. Not only do you have to provide an ID but they also take a photo of all patrons and scan their ID into their system. Total invasion of peoples privacy. Especially with ID theft running rampant in our society. I've never had to do this in my 52 years on this earth. I attended this establishment with a group of fifty year old's. All having to provide ID just to enter this establishment. We all felt violated after the fact. Food and service were good but not worth the inconvenience. We will not be returning until management changes their polices. I'm a total law binding citizen and I'll be contacting local law enforcement to enquire if this practice is even legal..... read more

Finally a layout that works, sort of. A hostess guided us in to a table. It was insanely loud in there and seated behind us four to five, 4 or 5 year old boys yelling at the top of their lungs for fun and another boy banging his toy car as hard as he could at a table on the other side log us, where the parents appeared to be sitting. We have five kids, inside voices when dining out and no damaging property and disturbing other diners is a huge 'no-no'. Frankly after experiencing this I like what the Dublin Crossing has done, by creating a separate restaurant area for families without disturbing the other patrons on the other side by having a door that separates the two areas. Unless this new public house is vastly improved their food, the price seem quite steep. They need to do some sound dampening measures in there. read more

Just ate at the Clayton. We had blackened halibut burger (not blackened), but it was served on a soft and tasty brioche bun. The margarita pizza had a great, thin crispy on the outside, chewey on the inside crust, but the toppings need an improvement. Skimpy and bland. Marinara sauce particularly. The "amazing" garlic fries were fries with raw garlic from the tub (like the stuff from Costco). Not exactly amazing but could almost satisfy a salt craving. The spacious patio with a view of the golf course was great (besides the fact that all of the heaters ran out of propane). Has potential to be a great place.... read more

Went for a friends birthday, and i am shocked at the service we recieved. Our waitress was so rude, would ignore us and wouldnt come to our table to ask if we wanted another round of drinks. We waited over half hour then finally ordered our drinks... another half hour passes and nothing. Drinks were forgotten about, had to order them again (another 10-15 minutes). Then when a friend was excited for her drinks and said "finally" (not in a rude tone of voice AT ALL) the waitress reacted saying "seriously" banged a couple glasses together and stormed off. She didnt come back to our table once, we ended up going outside to the main bar and ordering drinks there. The bartenders would shake the machine in our faces to pay as if we were going somewhere? I am appalled at how they treat customers. I would NEVER come back, surprising to see how their doors are even open. read more

I took my wife Mona there for her birthday today and was very impressed with both the food and drinks. Mona had the Clayton Burger and said it was the best she's ever had while I had a beef dip with a Poutine and it was amazing. We each had a couple of Ceasers and again they were Fantastic.
