Update: canceled my service after they did not respond to feedback and my "scheduled clean" didn't start until 4:30 for multiple visits. The experience is veeeerrry inconsistent. We've been having our home cleaned by TCA for many years. Sometimes a great job, sometimes not great at all. After our last clean when the team "deep cleaned" the bathrooms I found lots of dirty tiles. And there was absolutely no dusting. I pay the same price every time, so the quality variability is annoying. Now, they are insured and are super honest if they break anything. Good. Not great. The app is also super useless. Tells you what time the team is coming (but often updates with a different window.... Gotta pay more if you want the same time every clean) but there is no way to communicate. Meh. read more

I've been with this cleaning company for several years, and I can only remember being wowed by 2 employees who have long since moved on. Most of the time after they leave I have to dig out bags of trash that are left in the compost bin or recycling container. Despite communications with management (who has been friendly in communications but clearly has no influence in changing employee behavior), this seems to continue to confuse the cleaning team. I have the same bins as everyone else in Austin (green=compost, blue=recycle and brown=trash). It doesn't take a PhD to get this right. Even when I'm in the house, no one bothers to ask me if they are unsure. Sometimes they lock up when they leave, sometimes they don't. Sometimes they break things and leave a note, sometimes they break things and don't take responsibility. Management wants to send the team back to your house when a mistake needs correcting. Really inconvenient for people conducting their business from home to be interrupted again for something that should have been done right the first time. I question if there is a company culture problem when the staff turnover is constant and the product is so mediocre. BTW customers are incentivized to write positive reviews so be careful of how much weight you give to other posts. read more

We hired them to perform a "deep clean" as we are preparing to put our home on the market. I was told the first clean was the equivalent to this and then they'd perform "maintenance." She estimated $60 an hour for two employees for four hours. The staff were friendly and pleasant, but they dusted a lot of areas that we expected to be cleaned and wiped. The fireplace mantel was not cleaned, and the refrigerator was completely forgotten - including the top. The bathrooms were cleaned well, but overall it was not a thorough job especially for a home was in good order before they began. In trying to reach a staff person you will be managed by their call messaging company-which is a curious way to hang your company's reputation. If you need customer support you get - the answering service - for everything. It buffers the company from having to answer directly to its customers, good or bad - but especially handy for those bad calls. "Oh the answering service must have lost your message." Goo Then we got the bill of $300! Wow. This borders on being a sham business. I'll be disputing the fees and contacting the BBB. 9/18/2019 update: Let's be clear, the company's idea of a "remedy" was woefully inadequate and not compensatory. We had already had to reclean all the areas missed, (some of which became apparent days later). The offer to come back out is an empty gesture to give an appearance of offering something-but hollow. Yes, we did sign an agreement (that's their legal "out"), but what was verbally estimated was off by 25%. I suppose had the company done at least an adequate job that *might* have been tenable. The bottom is this. We simply did not get what we we're promised. Our experience was a lot of over promising. When the problem was reported it was difficult to reach the company. When we did the manager engaged in a lot of basic customer service listening techniques that don't remedy or compensate for the lack of service promised. read more

The quality of the cleaning and the time management of the cleaners was subpar to say the least. I'm fact, every time I went downstairs I discovered one of the cleaners not only not cleaning, but standing outside my residence speaking on the phone. The floors of two rooms was not swept or mopped and had visible debris. The cleaners left without giving me any receipt or invoice showing the time spent cleaning. Rather they referred me to a sheet of paper that said someone from their business would contact me about the service and about the ultimate dollar amount charged to my card on file for the deposit. No one contacted me. Instead they simply charged my card. I called their customer service number and was informed that someone would reach out to me. Over 24 hours later and no one has. read more

The Cleaning Authority has been taking care of my house for many years. It's always sparkling when they leave. This week Daisy and Maria focused extra attention on our bathrooms. I like that the company breaks the house into four segments, and at each visit one of those segments is 'deep cleaned' as well as the rest of the house getting it's normal cleaning. The result of our "deep clean" was most disappointing. This was our first encounter with CA. The Team arrived on time - they were very nice and went to work immediately. A small house 3/2 one level, 1900sqft no pets. It needed cleaning especially under furniture, in corners and above. After 4:40 hrs they left. Upon inspection it revealed they rarely turned over an item to vacuum underneath (like cockroach in MBR (eek) or the mats in front of three exits which need to be cleaned to avoid bringing dirt back into the house. In the kitchen the appliances were not wiped, the bottom part of the oven was not cleaned at all, under the office desk there was no vacuuming, in the guest room there was a large framed painting leaning against one wall: behind there was accumulated cobwebs, bugs etc. not cleaned but easy to just lift and vacuum. Several floor lamps were not lifted to be cleaned underneath.. Embarrassing to find dead bugs everywhere. It appeared there was no detail oriented work performed.. So disappointing. We paid 4:40 hrs of work for two people over $500.00. They were very nice to come back for a redo but we had discovered more oversights directly thereafter. I was hesitant to use a cleaning service with any regularity, but going on over 2 years now and have been very happy with the Cleaning Authority. The teams are very thorough, trustworthy, and efficient at cleaning. I've also used their move-out and move-in cleanings and they have worked miracles on the messes previous tenants have left. My only real issue is they have occasional communication break down between their main office and their teams and instructions have to be relayed multiple times. But that's few and far between and usually rectified very quickly. read more

My husband and I have used this company for a couple of years, but I'm sad to say that their service has become so awful that we are going to cancel. We signed up for a cleaning every other Thursday. When we first signed on, we were promised that even though their schedule was somewhat inconsistent, they would always be out of the house by 5:30 pm. We both worked full time so this was fine. Recently I had a baby and am home on leave, so we asked if they could give us a general window of when they're going to arrive so I can make sure we are out of the house. Not only have they failed to ever give us an accurate window, but twice in the last 6 weeks they have ARRIVED at 6 pm! Who wants their house cleaned at 6 pm?! The options are either to pack up my dog and baby and leave the house when I'd like to be making dinner and getting the baby down, or hole up in a bedroom for an hour (and then still be charged for them to clean that bedroom!) When we called to express how unacceptable this is, we were met with total indifference. I can only assume the cleaning crews are totally overworked and are assigned way more houses in a day than they can reasonably clean. To summarize, don't hire this company. read more

It's one day after my cleaning, and I'm starting to really notice things. Like the spots on my shower at the top where I sit my shaving cream can and it makes foam marks on the tile. They cleaned it all off. More Hands never did that. My cabinets are seriously a different color! They scrubbed them like they've never been scrubbed before. They cleaned the dust bunnies off my popcorn ceiling! The cleaned my air-conditioning vents. They came back last night, brought Thomas Keller with them and served me a 10 course tasting menu, complete with wine pairings. Then they sent me a man who was the hottest thing I've ever seen, and well... He cleaned it all up. Man, these people really are the best. (One of these things is not true. Most of the reviews here are pretty thorough, so I won't bore you with a long, drawn-out debrief, but we had a great first experience with The Cleaning Authority this week. After five years, a furry four-legged drool machine and a handful of failed housekeeping services (More Hands was a complete joke), I called TCA for professional help. I clean "at" my house weekly, sometimes more, but this hot, dusty summer left every surface grimy and in need of a deep clean. After a meeting and walk through with the owners, Drew and Eileen, we scheduled time for a team to come out. They were fantastic. Granted, they spent more than 3 hours in our 1,100 sq ft place, but I (after 4 days) am still noticing things they cleaned. Like the interior shelves of our entertainment center. And the inside of the slats on our mission style coffee table. (I still don't know how they got to the dog hair and dust in there - I've tried and it's tricky.) Long story short: While they might be pricey, TCA is a case of you-get-what-you-pay-for. And the initial clean being open-ended is a great model for the kind of service they provide. read more

Over two years later, and we're still using TCA for every-other-week cleanings. It is seriously a highlight of my week to come home from work on Tuesday nights and find the place sparkling, beds made, trash emptied, couch prettied up, etc. In two years, we've only had one breakage: a poorly-mounted picture fell and the frame cracked at the corner. I patched it up and it was no big deal, but better secured all the similarly-mounted pictures to protect against them (or me!) accidentally knocking one down. Now I just need to find someone to re-shelve my books, do my laundry, and cook for me and I'll be in heaven! :) read more

I really like The Cleaning Authority. They do an excellent cleaning job and the management is easy to reach and very proactive. I also like the auto-pay feature with my credit card. My only issue was that one crew turned down my thermostat to 60 and left it on all day after they left. I called to "complain" (saying it's OK to turn it on, just don't forget to turn it off) and it was handled immediately and professionally by the manager. No issues since. The Cleaning Authority delivers what it promises. We received a hanger on our front door and I was impressed with the detailed list of everything that would be included in the 'initial clean' and the 'rotation' afterwards. Yes, this company is more expensive than Merry Maids or other cleaning services, but the attention to detail is much better and the owner really listened when I reported a few problems (house cleaners talking on the phone when they should have been working, spots on my copper sink). He did all he could to make things right. Realize that cleaning services are only as good as the management. For now, I'm a fan. read more

Not respectful of animals. Very frustrated pet sitter. I am pet sitting for a friend who uses your services and your cleaners locked her cat in the bedroom! Thank god he had access to water but no litter box or food. This is unacceptable. On reporting to my friend she that your service had previously let her dog out Twice! The place was grubby with dust, cobwebs, pet hair, and a sprinkling of dead bugs. They arrived first thing in the morning and worked all day long. The place looks amazing! Wow! I finally found a service for home and for work. I am a pretty detailed person when it comes to cleaning my house, but recently, I've had other matters to attend and I haven't had a lot of time to truly clean. A friend of mine that uses The Cleaning Authority in Round Rock recommended them to me, and I have not been disappointed! All of the staff are quick to respond to emails or to calls, and they accommodate all of my special requests. The telephone initial contact was a low ball estimate. The very first cleaning was impeccable and $$$$. We were excited to have a monthly cleaning. Scheduled difficulties abound. They add a fee if you want first thing in the morning. Our first appointment was 2-4. Changed to 3:30-5:30 without our knowledge. At 4 no one here. We cancelled. Next appointment we brought the pup to daycare and prepped the house before 8 in the a.m for scheduled visit at 8:30. They called at that time to CANCEL. Our team called in sick as did 8 employees. Please be aware they are not in a place to have new clients. We have closed our account. read more

I have had the Cleaning Authority come bi-weekly for some time now. There have been enough visits for me to have a good feel of how they perform over time. Overall, I have been very satisfied with their performance, customer service, and pricing. There was a problem during the first cleaning and something was damaged. I was upset of course, but I saw that it was an accident and was thankful no one was hurt. There was a bit of a disconnect in communication about how this would be handled. The owner of the business called me and worked it out to my satisfaction. He was professional and courteous. The cleaning company that I used before TCA was hit or miss. I loved the people to bits, but the cleaning was sort of hit or miss. We had become friendly and I didn't feel okay complaining. That was a valuable lesson for me to learn. TCA cleaners are nice, but they don't chat. They arrive and get to work. One other improvement over the old company is that the cleaning supplies TCA uses are superior. I don't know what magic in a bottle they use, but there is never any residue on the tile floor, the furniture glows, and the house smells clean...but there are zero fumes. None. I have never had a headache when they have left. I'm not super sensitive to chemicals, but heavily concentrated bleach and some floor cleaners give me a hard time. read more

They did a thorough job and I was able to communicate well with Cristina as I sadly do not speak Spanish but she speaks and understands English very well. This was only my second cleaning. I had TCA clean our house while we were on sabbatical and we had renters. Which meant that I was paying from CA while the cleaning was happening in Austin. Their customer service and response to my emails was fantastic. When problems cropped up (which of course they did with that arrangement) they handled them quickly. Around the same time, my wife and I terminated service with another cleaning company. After the introduction, in an effort to regain time to do things we wanted to do rather than constantly clean house, we hired The Cleaning Authority, Austin to clean our home twice, monthly. The Good -- Green Cleaning (comes standard) -- The detail clean rotation system (love it; this is how our parents taught us to clean.) -- Comprehensive cleaning for one fair price (no annoying add-ons for stuff that should obviously be included.) -- Customer-centric (No house is the same. Early on there were some inconsistencies. Once communicated, the team dedicated to cleaning our house made some changes and fixed the situation.) -- Communication (The TCA team is very good about setting expectations and following-up on phone and email queries or schedule changes.) Our biggest cleaning challenge is our fur-kids: We have two large dogs and one cat. We live in a 1300 sq ft condo. The Texas Summer forces everyone indoors, fur-kids included. Hair and dander is definitely a problem. This was identified in our initial consult. Every clean since, we come home to a hair-free home. TCA even goes so far as to clean and vacuum the dog beds and the specific spots where the cat likes to hangout. The Bad About the only negative thing I have to say about TCA is not their fault. I've since asked them to put the blinds in the same position they found them after cleaning so my neighbor doesn't see me naked ever again! read more

Often spent less time than they were scheduled for in the for. The rotation schedule was kind of a joke. I'm pretty sure my knick knacks or whatever it said were never dusted and they certainly didn't clean the rooms that didn't exist in the house. Do not use them. I just had my cleaning today and I am very unhappy. First, the initial clean price that was told to me was completely different from the bill I received. It was $120 MORE than the initial price communicated. The total cost for the initial clean was $183. When I spoke to the woman that I met with she denied what we discussed. In addition, they missed several areas. With the extreme overcharge you would think they would make sure to wipe down the kitchen counter. When I addressed the missed areas, they said they would send someone out the next day in the afternoon within a 2 hour window. So essentially, they want me to wait 24 hours to get my kitchen counter and my bathroom sinks cleaned properly and wait around for 2 hours for them. No Thank you! I am more than disappointed. I have always had my house cleaned. I have never written a review before, but I truly feel that this company is unprofessional. I was planning on having them clean every other week for $81 = which is now a loss $2080 annually to them. read more

Horrible job. We paid close to $300 for our initial "deep clean" and it would have been $90 a week there after. They did such a bad job. One of the two girls was on her phone the whole time. They left animal hair on all of the base boards and at the base of the refrigerator. A few dishes were left in the sink. Mirrors were not cleaned well. I DO NOT recommend this company!!! Oh and they also charge a $25 rescheduling fee if you need to ever reschedule. read more

The cleaning crew that came to my apartment tried to bill me for time that they were NOT there. 45 minutes worth of time, to be exact. If you want other reasons not to hire this business: they are bad at returning phone calls, if you fill out a new customer form on their website you will have to repeat all that information over the phone, and the crew was 30 minutes late because they could not find my apartment. But mostly, avoid these people they employ cleaning crews that will try to rip you off. read more

The cleaning is good the business side sucks.. So my advice to you is to not refer anyone. If you do and they do not pay their bill, then you will be considered a responsible contact/party.
