Food was fine, some good bites (shrimp tempura, desserts) and some not so impressive bites (lobster tacos). Vibes were great, we like chill places that still have energy and a lively atmosphere, not too loud, the space filled up throughout our time there so it felt like a happening place. Additional toast was $2 more-each cup of coffee seemed to swell the total. The chef/owner may have used 2 eggs, but they must have been quail eggs because the "omelet" was puny. Everybody was dripping from a torrential rain- I was soaked to the skin. The surly waitress, on direction of the owner, claimed that an upcoming reservation would displace me shortly. There were at least 8 tables open, so I called her bluff. The meal came to $24.56- I gave her a twenty and a ten. She said- "you don't want change, do you?" So she forced a $5-plus tip for a wholly unsatisfying experience. Don't patronize this place. Go to Amici's in West Stockbridge or Joe's diner in Lee. I will never go back to the Riverside Cafe and pity anyone that does. It sucked all around.
