Stopped by on the way back from MA having stocked up at the dispensary. The girlfriend and I order the cheese steak and French dip with fries and onion rings. We ate in the car outside the bar and absolutely destroyed the food. One of those random joints that sells the basics and crushes every aspect of it. Went to the wayside for late lunch. It was pretty empty. We got nachos. Mac and cheese with bacon, burger, macaroni salad, fries, quesadillas and a caprese wrap. All was wonderful, except the wrap was very bland. Maybe balsamic glaze, instead of just balsamic would have worked better because it just poured out the end of the wrap. Besides that delicious. Only negative was the service was very slow. Took about a half hour to get nacho appetizer, however could have been an off day. Would definitely go back. read more

This review is based on 3 visits over 4 years. Visited while camping nearby. Last visit September 2019 was the best experience overall and is 3 stars for service. Food is mediocre. There is no kids menu. Place was empty . It was nice to play a game of pool ($.5) and hangout with the kids. Mac and cheese was hyped but in the end was underwhelming and drowning in butter. Salad was small and boring. Beer was good but overpriced . I didn't try any of the entrees however I do not believe that price of $23+ per serving can be justified for what essentially is a diner. We stopped in here after biking in the area. We ordered nachos and wings. Couple of sodas. Nothing big and waited too long. Normally I wouldnt complain but while we were waiting we heard some unpleasant racist language. I had 2 teenagers. Both are African american and we had to abruptly leave so they wouldn't hear. I would sum it up as a nice area but not as nice people. I didn't realize the racial tension up this way. I gave 2 stars because service and food were ok. read more

I wish I remembered the name of the waitress, because she was GREAT. The waitress has a wonderful sense of humor, and was relaxed, patient, and friendly. We went with a man who lives in this area and who apparently eats at Taconic Wayside Inn very regularly. The waitress knew exactly what he wanted and was very sweet with him--and with my friend and I, two strangers from out of town. The veggie burger was delicious, and must have been homemade! I was so happy to try it. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. read more

I've had food there before , however, after seven years this place has changed for the worse, start off with a rude waitress telling me I'm a scum bag, then a bartender has her hands in places needed to be washed, but fails to do so. The customers were all rude, non-sociable, and somewhat hostile towards my family. The food was not prepared correctly; a steak was overcooked when asked for rare it was med-well, my wife asked for shrimp that was mentioned to be real, but it was stuffed with imitation crab meat was cold and rubbery or well over cooked. i would leave 0 stars if possible. the service is horrible. my family and i all worked here 10 years ago. white shirt, black pants service. dining room full all night multiple waitresses on, not how it is now. i suggest the clock tower, dads diner, church street deli and the hillsdale diner. having gone here for the first time in 5+ years i am baffled by the service. You'll be lucky to get your food after 45 minutes of ordering it, probably due to the fact you're neglected by your waitress who is unbelievably rude. Dining experience 1: arrived 645 left at 9. after 30 minutes we finally got to order drinks and a menus brought to my table. the french dip arrived after 8 and was soggy, i said something to Jane the waitress and she spoke to the kitchen only to tell me that that is how theyre served bc of the sauce that is poured on top. i used to work here so i know how theyre served and ordered these sandwiches all the time NEVER was it served so terrible. my fries were warm at best so i assumed my dinner had sat in the back for some time absorbing all the juices and cooling down. so i made that clear and jane felt highly insulted. Dining experience 2: Jane the same waitress as above after 15 minutes of sitting with only a couple tables in the bar and another table just sitting down in the dining room asked what we wanted to drink. my mom asked for a water and before i could order my beer she walked away. she comes back and tosses our menus and specials down in front of us instead of placing. i then go to the bar to order my drink when jane finally asks what i need. once she comes back with my drink she slams both the drink and mug on the table. so i ask "are you having a bad day", jane then responds "no i just remember you". after that happen we decided to leave and go to the Clock Tower.....WAY BETTER SERVICE. read more
