Beautiful bar and lighting, great mixologist, and a fabulous dinner menu! We enjoyed Smoked Maple Old Fashioneds and Margaritas to start, and both were made with great care and were delicious. The shrimp tempura appetizer was crispy, fresh and amazing. I had the seafood trio (pan-seared sea bass, shrimp & scallops with asparagus and carrot risotto) which was heavenly and I highly recommend. They also have chicken and beef dishes as well, which we'll try on subsequent visits to the area. Our waitress Joana and bartender Josiah were super friendly, and we loved chatting with owner Jane toward the end. Overall, a very fun and tasty experience! read more

I had a certificate for two free entrees dated 2012. I lost the certificate and just recently found it. I wasn't sure they'd honor something that was 24 years old but they did and they were amazingly gracious about it. My daughter had a salmon and risotto dish and I had scallops and risotto. Both dishes were delicious and our server was soooo nice. They included our two cocktails in the comped meals which I wasn't expecting. Vibe: Modern, clean, indoor and outdoor seating Service: Good overall, entrees took a little long to come out Drinks: I had a decent espresso martini Food: TLDR: Truly underwhelming. Baguette - basically a ~6" warm ciabatta-esque roll, good but not worth $4, and not baguette Tuna tartare - this was good, although the tortilla chips felt slightly stale Pan seared duck breast - duck was overcooked and tough, green beans were bland, sweet potatoes were okay but some pieces were undercooked. Unimpressed by the flavors. Plating made the portion look small, it was a fine amount of food. Others around the table didn't seem too impressed with their food, and in terms of appearance, the risotto on others' plates looked very unappetizing. Value: For the 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, and ~5 drinks it came out to ~$280 including tip. The food was absolutely not worth ~$50-60 per person. Accessibility: Free street parking available in the nearby streets, it was pretty busy on a Friday in the summer with a Tanglewood show that night but we were still able to find spots okay after circling the block a couple times. I don't give out a lot of 2 star reviews but this was seriously overpriced for food that was mediocre at best. Would absolutely not recommend. read more

We stopped here for Valentines dinner - The atmosphere was sophisticated and cozy, and our waitress, Tanya, was lovely and very funny. While the service was friendly and the food & cocktails were delicious, the wait was a bit too long to justify it. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks and 30-40 for food. It was pretty busy, so the kitchen may have been backed up, but it was still quite a long wait in general. We'll definitely be returning, but will leave extra time and probably have a snack beforehand. read more

One of my favorite restaurants in the Berkshires. Staff and bartenders are friendly and attentive. The daily specials are always interesting and almost always offer my menu selection choices. Chef is very creative. My favorite app is Tuna Tartare. Last nights specials menu offered 3 different types of tacos as an app. Scallop and shrimp over pasta was excellent entree. It's fun to sit at the bar and watch the skilled bartenders practice their craft preparing specialty cocktails. Tip: if there is soup on the daily specials menu- order it! read more

Firefly is a solid 5! We live in Lenox and go at least 3 times a month, Bar is awesome, large circle with booths at either end. Staff friendly and bartenders awesome. Any food we have ordered is delish. steaks, rib eye, mashed potatoes, salads, never ever disappoints, All seating is prime. read more

It is what it is. Average, decent food but not a wow. Ordered the Peach salad with lobster which came with a side portion controlled cup of lobster to pour over your salad...weird. And the peaches were not very tasty. Just Ok. Also had a salmon burger sandwich. Ok. But missing the opportunity for additional flavor by not having bacon or a more flavorful aioli sauce. Fine. It came with a side of sweet potato hash which sounded great...but lacked the execution of a solid well thought out recipe. To little bacon & why were leeks added? Fair. It's not expensive to eat there so possibly my expectations were too high as it's called a gastronomic pub. read more

Really great food, especially their burgers. I would come back just for the burgers. It is loud due to the live music, but that is expected. The service was alright. They do have the ability to take Apple Pay. If they tell you they don't, just ask for the manager to help you and they should be able to do it. read more

Was here with work peers, all 10 enjoyed their meals from Brussel sprouts apps, to duck, burgers, salads, drinks etc I had a lobster Cobb salad with extra scallops (scallops were awesome!). Cool bar but we ate in the dining room plus outdoor seating. Very attentive waiter too. read more

I hate to do it but this was the worst meal we've had out in a long time. We should have listened to the reviews. First off not really much of a gastropub, more like a mediocre (if that) restaurant. We ordered wings for an appetizer, the server asked if we wanted them "extra crispy" and we thought great!! Unfortunately they were completely soggy which was a disappointment. I ordered the braised short ribs and my wife ordered the salmon with risotto. The short ribs were BY FAR the worst I've EVER had! I was able to pick up the entire cut with a fork without it falling apart. I had to actually use a knife and cut it into pieces. Pretty hefty price tag for short ribs that don't fall apart. My wife's salmon was ok but the risotto was embarrassing. Literally zero flavor!! Both of our dishes had green beans but again, no seasoning/flavor just boiled and thrown on the plate. "Gastropub"???? Not an ounce of thought or creativity in the food. Drinks were ok but we left so frustrated we paid a LOT of money for a terrible dinner, such a waste. The service is very good and the atmosphere is also nice. The food at times is well made and sometimes its mediocre. I have had really good meals here and then just ok meals. Guess I need to stop eating out. Ordered a poached lobster with scallops and shrimp. The whole dish was luke warm including the overcooked lobster. The scallops were ice cold in the middle, raw maybe, or frozen and not heated enough. Either way unacceptable. The waitress at the end said ," i wish I would have known sooner". Yes me too, perhaps if you stopped back and asked before the end of the meal you would have. Then she asks me " what do you want, a free dessert or something" Lots of attitude for no reason. When she came back , with even more attitude, she informed me that they took the meal off. Over all not a great experience, the whole table was in agreement that the apps were warmish , we ate them as the flavor was good, but don't think perrogies are supposed to be room temp. The attitude from the wait staff will make us never go back.. and unfortunately cant say much good about the food. Id say if you do go here, don't complain as you will get attitude the whole rest of your visit. read more

We made reservations a few weeks ahead of time to eat here before a concert at Tanglewood (like I'm sure the majority of their patrons). A week beforehand, the restaurant confirmed our party of 6 would be seated on the front porch, so we looked forward to enjoying a nice summer's dinner outside. We arrive, give our name (they apparently only ask for a first name for reservations), and the hostess says, "Oh, you came in yesterday and cancelled this reservation." We were not in town the prior day, so of course this was impossible. Rather than acknowledging and apologizing for her mistake (apparently cancelling the wrong reservation due to the same first name?), she was like, "Well, we're fully booked. Let me show you what we can do." Customer service was not this woman's forte. One table offered was indeed outside -- in the back parking lot. Looked like the employee's hangout spot. The second table was indoors, by the backdoor, and was a long high-top with a thin table that could barely fit plates side-by-side (not really across from one another). Having no choice, we took that table. The server was upbeat, friendly, and made up for all of the indifference we received from the hostess for messing up our reservation. She set up the table, got us water and menus right away, and came back quickly to take drink orders -- all of which was greatly appreciated. We made the best of the situation and found a seating arrangement around the extremely thin tables that mostly worked. Drinks (delicious cocktails!) came out quickly, and she was back to take our food order. Food also came out really quickly, given they seemed to be fully booked. My duck was delicious, as was my wife's airline chicken dish. A friend's scallops were spot-on, and we all were very happy with the actual food. So A+ for the service, a solid A for the food, and a C- for front-of-house staff who don't know how to ensure you're cancelling the correct reservation. Maybe double-check common names with a last name or a phone number in the future before putting through a cancellation? Would eat here again, but make sure you give them a unique first name (and maybe call to double-check your reservation the day before). read more

The evening began with a group of 8 weekly dinner club friends from NYC and local going to Lenox to try firefly, we've heard good things so we trusted word of mouth. Unfortunately the food did not live up to what we heard this establishment is capable of serving i.e the shrimp pasta & crab dinners served were rubbery from overcooking and the crabmeat was obviously from a can which we didn't bother to complain. They do not include bread with their entrees and the baguettes served were reminiscent in size of a hotdog roll at the cost of $3 each. When asked why bread wasn't included especially with a pasta dish we were given a mini seminar by the server on the rising cost of bread and how they now have to make it from scratch and must pass the expense on to the customers. Although the service was satisfactory up until the check came out and the server adamantly insisted the total bill could not be on 3 separate checks when in fact that was the first thing said to the server prior to taking drink orders. Additionally we were told management doesn't allow separate checks and the system isn't set for it, this caused a quiet chuckle in our group because 5 out of the 8 of us are restaurateurs and know that information was false. Respectively we're talking about a check over $400.00 with 3 of 8 guest adding, dividing and multiplying food, tax and tip without calculators, pen and paper or cells at the table during dinner. To sum it up quite literally, they lost our patronage because of something so trivial as not permissible separate check and for the simple fact that guest in the same industry and restaurant social media influencers strongly believe that catering to customer's needs and customer satisfaction is the key to a successful establishment even when it means bending the rules a bit to assure the customers happiness and loyalty to the restaurant. read more

The food was as bad as the service. I ordered a steak to be cooked medium. It was more on the well done side. After we got our food, our server was missing for about 15 minutes. We were charged for a drink that we ended up sending back because it was so bad. With the NY Strip, the mashed potatoes were cold and tasted like they were sitting under a heat lamp for a while before it was brought out. We ordered an app which was the Brussels sprouts and you can pick either blue cheese topping or sweet tai chili. We ordered the blue cheese but ended up with the chili ones. It was just over all very poor service and not good food. It was expensive as well. We sat outside and I have to say that was the best part of the entire experience read more

After taking part in a haunted Lenox fall activity, we were trying to find something that was open a bit later in the Lenox area and found the Firefly Gastropub. There were a couple of tweens in our party, as well, who had food ideas of their own. Everyone found a few items on the menu- some split appetizers/meals, but the food was wonderful! Our server even had the bartender create a couple of mock tails for the kids, upon request. The hostess was so accommodating to get us seated without a reservation and the service was outstanding. My wife and I split the scallop appetizer special, which was had a definite fall flavor profile. I ended up getting the wild mushroom and veggies with zoodles/burrata, which was comforting on a chilly night in the Berkshires. We will be coming back to try more of the awesome menu! read more

The game was on & people at the bar were commenting on the game. My girlfriend and I needed a night out!! So we happened to stumble upon this place. The ambiance and vibe is amazing. The live music was awesome!! We sat at the bar and we were greeted promptly. My gf got a few margaritas and she says they were very good!! Our food was phenomenal. We got the hummus plate and blue cheese Brussel sprouts for an app. I got the salmon for my meal and it did not disappoint, salmon cooked perfectly with crispy skin and the creamed spinach was delicious. Friends tell me that I'm a hard grader, but I always try to be fair. I have given plenty of five star reviews along with the singletons and try to take into consideration factors such as the season and associated tourist load, staffing issues - particularly during the Covid Phase I recovery (now in the rear-view mirror thanks to people who refuse vaccinations [are you reading this. son?] and the plain ignorant people who refuse vaccinations thanks to certain Republican political miscreants and Fox/OANN fellow-travelers.) The resulting staff shortage has resulted in otherwise unskilled staff being pressed into FOH and BOH roles which would otherwise go unfilled. Such was the case during our recent meal at Firefly last week. Our waiter (nameless here because he was clearly in over his head) was unable to answer basic menu-related questions, such as what kind of meat is in the lamb meatballs? (just kidding, but still...), and were the scallops bay or sea? We did determine that the Lobster Bisque was made from actual lobster, so we ordered two bowls extra hot. The soup arrived and was, of course, tepid. When we questioned our waiter, he replied with some asperity that the chef had taken it from the bottom of the pot and he could offer no further explanation of why the soup wasn't hot. OK. Cutting them some Covid-related slack (see above.) When the soup was finished we waited and waited and waited for the Lamb Meatballs and the Scallops. Then we waited some more as diners who had come in well after us were already paying their checks and turning over the tables. I finally entered the restaurant (we were on the porch) and found the waiter back past the bar, joking around with the other staff. I said, "Give me the food or give me thee check." He swore that the food would be right out, but it was another ten minutes until he showed up and said the rest of the order had been lost and never entered (!) and they were finally firing our food. When the food finally arrived, the scallops were hot and meatballs were completely over-fired - dry and hard. And the polenta under them was ice cold. I told the waiter to take my dish off the check, which he did without comment. When a restaurant blows up a meal to this extent, it is usual for the manager to show up and apologize. Nada. I see from another poster, J.J.D., that he/she also had a dismal experience with the lamb meatballs. To the manager (I know you're reading this), if you can't cook it right, don't keep it on the menu. You'll just keep pissing off customers. And train your wait staff, for God's sake, to not lie about where the food is in the queue. More hands-on professional management is sorely needed. read more
