3 years ago, my husband took in a Clock he purchased in Japan , on his way back from Vietnam. after over 50 years it stopped working. My husband took it in and had it checked out. unfortunately, because the clock was so old, he couldn't repair it to its original condition- but he offered to rebuild it using batteries instead of the original winding This clock has such sentimental meaning to me, he did the work and I am so grateful. he did a great job and the clock is still working. The owner is arrogant and too lazy to make a house call for a Howard Miller Grandfather clock which is on warranty. He was demeaning when I said I had received the clock as a gift from my company, stating that 'Was an electric clock the best they could do?' I would not give home the time of day let alone my business. read more

The Clock Shop and Bill Kane did a fabulous job on my 1906 Seth Thomas clock. It's a family heirloom and I'm very pleased with the work.

Didn't have much experience with The Clock Shop, as I sent in an inquiry regarding their ability to repair an antique clock and never got a response other than a generic automated reply. Submitted an online form stating the clock I had and inquiring if they could help. Automated response I received was: "We will respond to you before the close of our next business day." Well, it's obviously it's been beyond the "next" business day - unless they're on vacation (which should have been noted in the automated response). Of course, after sending in my inquiry and then reading the Yelp and Google reviews, I decided this was NOT the place to bring a family heirloom anyway. A response would have been nice, but obviously that was too much to ask. If my inquiry is an indication of how they treat their customers, I'd just as soon look for a different shop - which is exactly what I'm doing. read more

Never go there they are cons. Tell you one price doesn't give you a written quote. Then they will bring it to your house and charge you almost twice what they told you in person. I left a bad review and they called me to ask why. I told them they quoted me one price and charged me almost twice as much without my permission. First, I am not in Arizona. I'm in The Woodlands, Texas area. I must have mistaken this shop for a 5 star shop I found before engaging this service provider. I needed help with packing my grandfather clock for moving across the state. I called and spoke with whom I believed to be the owner and explained that I needed the clock disassembled and packed into its original box I have retained for many years. I was told a tech would arrive and take care of this. NEVER was there a mention that the tech would not pack the clock into its box. The tech arrived and hopefully secured the clock's workings then packed the pendulum and weights into the original packaging I provided to him. His work took less than 15 minutes. When I said that it needed to go into the original box, the tech argued with me and said that it needed to be wrapped into a packing blanket and it would be fine. I let him help me wrap the clock into the blanket, and--like an idiot and paying WAY too much--the tech left and I finished reassembling my clock box and maneuvering the blanket-wrapped clock into the box and securing it with its original packing materials. I rock. This clock shop does not. If all were right, I would receive a refund of at least $150 for the service provided, which wasn't much. read more

Zero stars should be an option. Had them "work" on our grandfather clock. Clock continued to have issues. Had another shop check it and they fixed the issues as well as finding no sign of any recent "work" having been done to the clock. Apparently, this shop just put the mechanism on the shelf and weeks later, only after I called them, said it was ready to go despite having done nothing to it. BELIEVE the very low ratings here. Owner and staff are rude and, per my experience and the other shop's experience, they do nothing to most of the clocks they take in. read more

I took my 1857 Gustav Becker wall clock in and was charged $600 to rebuild it with a 1 yr warranty. The clock does not work so I took it back and they say nothing is wrong and it is my problem not theirs. I find Bill Kane (owner) and his son Greg to both be rude, irascible and argumentative. The only good things I can point to are the many wondrous time pieces they have in the shop and the dog that they keep as a pet. I do not recommend this business and would recommend that all stay away unless you are purposely looking for a reason to ruin your day. read more

Working with customers my whole life, this was an example of a burned out old man. He was rude and had no interest in working on this clock quoting me 700.00 to fix and I walked out shaking my head. Came out & took clock mechanism to shop for repair. Came back 1 week later & put clock back together. Westminister chimes were reversed & could not get it to gong on the right hour (example: gongs 3 times for 2 pm). Then the minute hand fell off. Left 5 messages & was totally ignored; never returned my calls since he had my money. Now I have to have another repair shop come out & fix it. NO WAY would I ever call this person again. read more

I am so pleased with The Clock Shop. We drove in from College Station to have him look at my Grandmother's mantel clock. He was apologetic that he had to close the shop early but was willing to look at the clock. He took the time to look at the clock and then found a simple fix for it. He spent the time talking to us and was so beyond nice. After all of that - he didn't charge us. I'm glad I didn't read the other reviews before I went because I would have missed out on a great experience. We will be going back to purchase clocks the next time. read more

Very rude and condescending when you call asking for help. I was told to do my research and to call back regarding a clock I had received that I knew nothing about. Was then told $175 wasn't worth their time or my money for them to do a house call to assess the clock. Told me to stop talking and cut me off mid sentence many times. Turns out clock wasn't broken and there is a nice shop in spring that will show interest, take their time and help you over the phone for free before your take your clock to them. Don't waste your time on the clock shop. There are way better places that are more respectful to customers and actually want your money. After I asked around I found out this shop has a reputation of being horrible...how they are still in business is beyond me. read more

I'd give this business zero stars if I could! I called to arrange a house call to oil my grandfather clock and was assured that "Bill" would call me back. When I never received a return call, I should have realized this business was not well run - but I called and left a message on voice mail and then Bill called me back. We made an appointment for him to come to my house and I gave extensive, specific directions to my address but not only did he never show up, he never even had the courtesy to call to explain or reschedule. Since then I've contacted another clock shop and made arrangements for a house call - at half the price Bill quoted - so actually, I guess it's a happy ending after all. I would say don't take your clock to be fixed, but chances are they wouldn't fix it anyway. I took 3 clocks in over a year span and was told each time the clock is not worth the money it would take to repair it and quite frankly they didn't have the time to fix my clock. I didn't ask for an appraisal, I was willing to spend my money to have it fixed.....so fix it. One was a banjo clock from the 1950's, a honeymoon clock from Germany circa 1960, the other a Seth Thomas from the 90's. If your not willing to fix clocks, don't call yourself a repair shop, stick with sales please, and don't insult your clientele with your worthless opinion. Took an original (according to Bill) 1902 Seth Thomas to them for repair. Was told that the pendulum was not original and needed to be replaced with correct one along with the other repairs to make it operational. Bill asked if I wanted to pay in advance, big mistake on my part. Paid and decided the next day that it wasn't worth the costs. Called to cancel and guess what, it was repaired and waiting for pickup. His words were, when someone pays in advance, we jump on it. No wonder, AARP has an article about establishments such as this that ask for advance payment, they are usually in financial trouble. Anyway, went to pick up the clock and no new pendulum. Still waiting on phone call from them to let me know a new one is installed. That was 3 days ago. Don't expect any phone call. Beware if you are considering them for repairs. This is the second clock I've had them work on. First one won't run. According to them it works fine in their shop. Needs leveling at our home. Completely overpriced for the work he did (which was unsatisfactory) and everything associated with the repair was going to cost an even more.
