Our waitress was super nice and was giving us recommendations of where to go. Overall, this was a great bar that would easily turn into our hangout if we lived in Charleston! We will finish our drinks inside. 5 minutes after that, we were asked to take our last sips and leave. 15 mins before the posted closing time. Again, we weren't causing a problem, weren't loud, weren't disruptive. This was a group of 8, most of us well into our 40s (or older). But they were telling all guests to leave at 1:45a?? Just after we bought drinks? The posted hours say they close at 2a. Not 1:45a. Most of us left half finished drinks. The large bouncer was nice enough, the tiny one in a hoodie with glasses was totally unprofessional. So beware. The Blind Tiger has what it takes to remain a Charleston institution. It's true that I don't go out downtown as much anymore, but rec room was a regular haunt for me back in the day. While the age of the crowd has gotten younger or maybe I've gotten older the welcoming vibes that rec room offers to all walks of life is undeniable. I remember it being busy in the past, but never as packed as I saw it last night. Still a great time but cutting through the crowd to get to the bathroom was nothing short of Olympic athleticism. That being said, I can't wait to come back.
