Great little dinner with that old town feel to it. Walked in and was immediately greeted and was asked if I was dining in or taking it to go, I responded dining in and was told to sit wherever I wanted. The waitress immediately came over with a menu and silverware and took my drink order. Once she returned with my drink she took my order. Within 10 minutes or less my order was being delivered to my table hot with condiments such as butter, jellies, and syrup. Everything was good, no complaints here. There's 3 TVs with different shows on for variety, o particularly was watching the one playing the old TMNT cartoon from the 90s. This is definitely a spot I would come back to, good food, good service, and good people.

We stopped in for breakfast because it is my boyfriend's diner. I have never been. So many options on the menu! You can get breakfast lunch or dinner. You definitely get your money worth, servings are huge. Everything tasted great, like home cooked and made with it love. Our server was very attentive and super nice. She knew the menu well. The decor was mostly navy and water related. We loved reading the patches on the wall. The only reason I give a 4/5 and not a 5/5 is because the bathrooms are not secure. The lock doesn't work. It also would be helpful if they had benches outside or inside for people that are waiting. The place was super busy but that's a good thing. Look forward to trying more items on the menu

Great food! However I can't eat at a place that charges you $3.00 for taking food to go. Fees at certain places are ridiculous!

This is a nice dinner with really great food. The service is really good and the couple that own it are very nice and personable. I really like the old school diner vibes which lends well to the atmosphere as well as the food. I order the 10oz ribeye and eggs which was cooked perfectly and was very well priced. My fiancé and I will be returning regularly to enjoy this spot.

Food is typical small diner grub. Food and prices were excellent. If you like no frills home cooking, this is the spot.

First of all can I just say WOW!…read more We were excited at the first because we thought the Neat Bird from Chesapeake had a new location in Norfolk Colley Avenue but there chicken sandwich was even delicious here too with a different owner! We met the owner, he is a cool band guy with a mustache name Dand. The drinks he made for us were so good and so was the way he talked with his staff and the way they worked together. My parner and I had seen that they pride themselfes on Scottish eggs, which we were lucky to try and it was also very delicious! We like that they have the vibe and also a board with many events of the community on the wall to check out while you sip on a delicious expresso martini. Good job to the Bird! now dont go opening another restaurant in Chesapeake or we will all be very confused!

You order at the register, and the staff brings the food out to your table. Everyone was attentive, and we had no issues with the service. We ordered the waffle plate, which came topped with fruit alongside eggs and their house sausage. We also tried the Huevos Rancheros, the Sausage Egg & Cheese sandwich, and a build-your-own omelette. For drinks, we ordered the brown sugar cold brew, dulce de leche cold brew, drip coffee, and an espresso martini. The waffle was huge, and the sides were great. My only complaint was that it could have used more fruit, as there were only a few small pieces. The Huevos Rancheros were delicious and came with a generous serving of avocado. The only thing that caught us off guard was the lack of salsa, since in traditional Huevos Rancheros the salsa is a key component. Even so, the dish was still flavorful and filling. The omelette was excellent, and the breakfast sandwich was equally delicious. I was especially impressed by the house-made jam, house-made hot sauce, and the perfectly seasoned home fries. As for the drinks, the brown sugar cold brew was excellent, but the dulce de leche version was far too sweet for my taste. From what I understood, they use two flavored syrups to make it, and I think using smaller portions of each would create a better balance. We ended up adding oat milk and some drip coffee to tone it down. The drip coffee itself was solid and came with free refills. The espresso martini really tied brunch together for me -- strong, well-made, and delicious. Overall, we really enjoyed both the food and the experience, and we'll definitely be back.

The place inside is very cute and reminds me of a nice punk pop bar. The bar wraps around and there's some tables and a side table that we sat at to eat. It jiggled when I tapped it and the side salad tasted great with dill in it and it brightened up things. The combination of both was great. The crust on the quiche was nice as well. My spouse enjoyed their sandwich but didn't realize there was mustard so he ended up just using the chips to eat his egg and sausage. His egg was also fluffy. The patrons that came seemed friendly and you can tell who are locals since they greeted by name often. I love that this place is open. They also have local wine you can purchase. It has a very clean minimal decor vibe but is still very welcoming and comfortable. There are large tables, sofas, a nice bar and arm chairs to gather in and the music is loud enough to mute conversations but not so loud as to disturb the vibe. The menu is simple. Coffees, teas seasonal drinks, sandwiches and pastries. My husband and I were taking a quick break from. Hopping and decided on drinks and a pastry. We ordered the grinch matcha latte, a gingerbread latte and a spinach feta pastry. Omg both of us loved the grinch. I've been searching for a matcha I could enjoy and this is it! All the right notes: not too sweet, creamy and the matcha well blended in the milk-think no grainy residue at the end. If I'm in the matcha mood I'm coming to get this. The grinch was so good I think it made the gingerbread latte less exciting but it was still delicious! The expresso was strong so for a non Coffee drinker like me it wasn't my favorite but my husband thought it was great. The pastry came out hot and was delicious. Everything came out fairly fast so even with the crowd we were there less than 30 minutes. I want to come back and try more drinks and a salad that seems up my alley. Please check out this locals establishment. You won't be disappointed!!

When I walked in, the vibe was relaxing with the good music playing--just three tables and one person at the bar--but that didn't last long. Within ten minutes, five more parties dropped in, and the place went from zero to sixty real quick. The Service: A One-Woman Show I have to give a massive shout-out to Casey. For the first hour, she was "The House." She was greeting everyone, tending bar, taking every order, and running food. Even as the crowd swelled, she stayed on top of it. She got my drinks out fast, and while there was a wait for the food, it was totally reasonable considering she was flying solo until backup arrived an hour and a half later. The Food: Seafood & Southern Staples The kitchen is run by a single cook who clearly knows their way around a fryer. Even with a mountain of large DoorDash orders stacking up, my meal arrived hot and fresh about 20 minutes after ordering. The Main Event: Egg, Catfish, Shrimp & Grits with Texas Toast The Seafood: The catfish and shrimp were fried to perfection. Those shrimp are truly colossal and packed with flavor. My only minor gripe was that both were a bit on the greasy side, but the taste was spot on. The Sides: The soft scrambled eggs with cheese were a little too soft for my personal preference, but still tasty. The grits were standard, and the Texas toast was exactly what it should be: perfectly toasted and buttery. The Drink: I ordered the 50/50 tea. It came in a 12-oz plastic mason jar and hit the sweet spot--refreshing without being overly sweet. The Bottom Line Be prepared for the "fine print" on the bill. There is a 16% automatic gratuity and a credit card service fee. My total came to $41.33. Tea: 2.99,2 egg & Catfish:16.99, add cheese:.99 and side of fried shrimp: 9.99, service fee: 1.24, 16% gratuity: 4.95, and tax: 4.18 Honestly, even with the auto-gratuity, I had to slide Casey some extra cash. Watching her manage a sudden rush while keeping the wheels from falling off was impressive. If you go, expect a bit of a wait if it's busy, but know that the staff is working their tails off to get you a solid, hot meal.
