WARNINg! I am disgusted that my coffee cost $10.50 and I wasn't worn that choosing what kind of milk I want in it was going to be extra and all the extras added. How dare you! I come to the zoo to eat at Reggie's and usually order their delicious Francisco coffee that cost three dollars Today I decided I would spend six or seven dollars on my way there and get coffee bean which is delicious coffee when the girl asked me what kind of milk I wanted in it I had no idea that was gonna take a six or seven dollar coffee to $10.50. It's been repeating for some time now. I don't feel welcome here when I get my coffee. 4 out of 5 times I feel like unwanted guest at somebody's house. And my observation is that at least half of the guests feel the same. It is a troubling tendency in all major chain coffee shops, and Coffee Bean and Tea leaf is the best if compared and I still love the coffee here. But as a result me and many of people I know skip the visit and make our own coffee at home now. Paying seemingly such a high prices for a cup of coffee and such high tips for something that is not served to you while you sit.. as in the restaurant ... and getting a vibe that you still own them something .... not a pleasant experience. It is surprising to me that it has been 6 years since i have darkened the doors of this Coffee emporium. It just goes to show you how a first impression of a person and of course a retail business can hang around for a long time. I decided to come here after some mini mall shopping at Walgreens and Trader Joe's. I was pleasantly surprised on several fronts: service, cleanliness of the unit, adherence to COVID protocols and most importantly...quality and brew of the Coffee. The Millennial woman who waited on me was pleasant, eager to do a good job but obviously in training or very new. Pleasant and Eager are good qualities with which to start. One problem was in communication...meaning: my wearing a mask and the thick protection shield between the young lady and myself caused me to practically shout out my requests. But i guess sticking to protocols and keeping everyone safe is more important than not. I had a "dark" roast which was full of blackberry, pecan and lemon notes. The coffee was also brewed with enough ground coffee to make the cup i had strong and robust from the beans natural caffeine. Good Stuff! I also bought an "Everything" bagel and i asked them to toast it extra browned: which they did. The Bagel itself was bought from a good source: one that knew their way around mass production of Bagels. I also ordered, the reported in the newspapers as sparse, hard to come buy Cream cheese. They gave me 2 portion cups here when one was plenty. i took the other home, just in case. (i mean you never know when .5 oz of cream cheese will come in handy). As with most people who appreciate a good Cuppa Joe every morning, i am happy to find another joint in Glendale with bold, well brewed, strong Java! Cheers! read more

My friends and I got a quick snack from here before heading out to a funeral service in downtown. I ended up getting the limited time Fruit and Nut Bar and it was pretty good. It tasted like an adult version of a granola bar since it was packed with walnuts, raisins, and other dried fruits and nuts. My friend had gotten their blueberry scone and it was pretty good since it was filled with blueberries in every bite. I really like how the honey is in stick form instead of packet form since I love honey sticks and they don't charge you. So my friend had gotten like 6 of them for her tea. Too slow. I know in this age of instant gratification we hold businesses to a high standard. But Coffee Beans main competitor is Sbux, so you have to use it as a means of comparison. When comparing my local sbux to this CB, which is just down the street from my house, it's noticeably slower, even when it's not busy. The mobile orders take a few minutes longer to prepare AND when I do my mobile order for decaf coffee on weekday mornings, they're still brewing it at 6:40 in the morning. I come to this CB regularly as it's very convenient for me. Hopefully they'll get their process in order to be more efficient and timely. I'm happy to revise my review. read more

I've been coming to this Coffee Bean for about two years and my experiences have gone downhill. The coffee is inconsistent- sometimes it's decent, sometimes it's bad, sometimes it's bad but still drinkable. Sometimes the service is pretty fast and other times it's super slow. My other coworkers and I were talking just last week that the coffee beans taste too burnt. What really made me want to take down my previous review I had up for a while was my interaction with a worker yesterday and it also has made me decide that I will never come back to this Coffee Bean despite that I work right across the street and it's the closest coffee shop to me. Yesterday, I came in the morning around 7 and I ordered a small cafe latte. I was the second person in line, yet somehow still waited 5 minutes to order. Nonsense, right? After I ordered my coffee I went to the waiting area. They called out someone's name for coffee and I went up like a minute later because I wasn't sure if that was my coffee. One of the girls came up to me and said "This isn't yours, this is a mocha and you ordered a caffe latte. Please wait for your drink." Now this doesn't sound rude when you read it, but it was her tone of voice and her facial expression that really threw me off. She took the drink off the counter and put it back in the kitchen...as if I was going to take the drink anyway after she told me it wasn't mine. Mind you I didn't touch the drink at all nor tried to grab it, I just went up to the counter and asked what it was and 1. I actually hate mochas but okay and 2. Why would I steal a coffee especially when I've been a loyal customer of this Coffee Bean for two years now. After that I saw her and and another girl whisper in the back, but I'm not sure what they said. Very upsetting. I hope they don't treat other customers like this in the future. read more

This USED to be my favorite Coffee Bean location. Great customer service, drinks were always served nice and promptly. The last couple of times I walked in to this location, however, I've had to deal with an employee named Lexi or Alexis who was plainly rude. The first time I had asked whether I asked for an iced cold brew, and she had just laughed and said "it's a cold brew." Welp, what I meant was if I asked for ICE. I am in customer service too and pride myself at that. There are BETTER ways to say things to the customer. You could make a rude sentence sound nice if you value customer service. But I guess not. Today, they had two registers and she hadn't told me to move to the other one when she meant for me to do so. Not knowing she was checking me out on the other register, she just says "we're not charging you there, ma'am. We're doing that here. Here (at the second register). Then I swiped my card, had not even cared to look at the tip part after swiping since I stopped wanting to deal with her tbh. She had called me to check what happened with the card and so I did, and in a strained voice full of attitude she says "and I got [your drink] right here." I understand customer service can be hectic, but there's a better way to communicate with clients without being rude and sounding jaded about your job. If it starts being a burden, I'd say quit or handle it better, because client satisfaction should be number one especially for such a big brand. I really am not pleased by this person's performance and I hope they could train her better when it comes to client relations. Also a side note; her coworker just reminded her of the $3 promo and she says in front of me, a client, "well, this is a large cold brew, so..." A conversation that maybe should not have been heard since it made things awkward. AGAIN. There is a better way to communicate. I miss some of the old crew here. Been coming in as a regular client that I've almost reached Platinum on their rewards points. It would suck to have to be served by Alexis again, so I may have to stop coming to this location. read more

I have been coming to this location for a long time - as my daughters attended school nearby for many years. Yesterday I ordered two drinks and some food items. When my drinks were ready I reached for one of the carryout bags right next to the counter to store the hot and iced coffees that I purchased. The barista working that morning (6/1/21) told me that the bags were for mobile customers only, with no other explanation as to why a paying customer, with two drinks and food items to carry out, was not equally entitled to the same bag as a mobile order customer? Does anyone really think people order via mobile just because they receive a free paper bag? I quickly put the bag back, and she then said it was OK to take because "you already touched it and so they could not reuse it." Excuse me???? She was saying this to a frontline healthcare professional who washes his hands regularly to prevent infection, and who has tirelessly worked over the past 17 months to help keep everyone safe or to help them recover. I think the management at this store needs to review their policies and perhaps get a grip on what customers appreciate and expect. This experience was both offensive and rude, and the store policy to reserve carryout bags for mobile orders only is indefensible, and the employee response was demeaning.
