First time here, tried these sea salt iced coffee . It was good, but nothing different from what I've had before. The thing I was most disappointed in was the caffeine. Honestly I didn't think it was strong at all, I specifically wanted to try this coffee because I heard it was strong and I needed it this morning haha . I actually have a small tolerance to caffeine so that's how I know it wasn't strong at all. My fiancé felt the same way and we got the exact same thing . Got a little pastry , that was good . Decided to get some baked treats here steering away from our normal go to up the street (Porto's). Forgot how good of a selection they have and their prices! They carry a variety of influences in their goodies - Asian, Portuguese, Cuban, etc. and you can tell they're baked fresh - pillowy soft. Will definitely be back - 8 out of 10 for me! Pretty typical 85°C with good breads and drinks. I was in the area and stopped by to grab a peach green tea. What I like is that the drink prices are much cheaper than many other tea spots, and the quality is still decent. The location itself is fairly small, so it's better as a grab-and-go spot rather than a place to sit and hang out. read more

Although Porto's is right up the street, I still found myself enjoying my visits to 85°C. The pastries taste exactly like what I expect and the service over here was fantastic!!! I even had my share of someone stealing my coffee and why not? It's because it is DELICIOUS! The sea salt coffee (get it sugar free too) was so delicious paired with my pastries. I've been seeing 85 bakeries close in my area and its making a lil sad. At first glace I would have said this location's 85 is a bit tiny. But I've compared to other locations and the store's foot print makes a lot of sense with their offerings in their pastry section. I've been a fan of 85 for many years. We've been coming here for a while and they always have a great selection of drinks, pastries, and cakes. It's a fun experience to pick out everything you want yourself, like a buffet, and then pick out the drinks you want alongside your treats. For drinks, we usually go for the Vietnamese coffee and Thai tea, and the bottled milk and Thai tea are always great if you want a drink to take home for later. The milk pudding is a classic fluffy bread we usually get and then we just look around to see what else stands out. My husband also really enjoys the egg tarts. The only Asian dessert place my son actually craves. All the food is individually packaged (though wish there wasn't so much plastic) and always fresh. No vegan items, which is a bummer, but it's all good. Family loves the taro bun, milk bun, choco roll, almond twist, and the red bean bun. Self-serve trays at the entrance, but all the employees are very nice and helpful. I tried this place for the first time today. The workers were very nice. Amazing service. The interior is set up so you can work solo or pick up to go. Not many tables for groups of people. I ordered the milk tea and it was delicious. Most of the drinks are fairly priced but the pastries are a little expensive compared to most of the bakeries in the area. A small piece for $4.75 is a little steep considering the bakeries around are under or around $3 I would definitely go back for their drinks though read more

What I like about this location is that is completely uncrowded on a weekend. 85 Degrees is a great place to get bargain pastries. As a Glendale native, I know this is the home Porto's, which also has excellent pastries for the prices. While I prefer that place, it is much too crowded. I appreciate the tranquility of this particular 85 Degrees locations. Enjoy it while it lasts. 85 Degree also sells reasonably price drink and pastry franchised that originated in Taiwan. Asian pastries tend to be more fluffy or have unique breads like taro or chocopan (chocolate bread). Good selection of single slice cakes. Some locations sell mooncake which is a traditional New Year dish, although I did not see it here. Also, this franchise sells the most reasonably price Milk Tea Boba without compromising quality. read more

To the Manager or Supervisor, I live nearby and usually order my breakfast through the app about 30 minutes ahead of time, giving more than enough time to have it ready. However, when I arrived, I was very upset to find that my order was not prepared. I was on my way to work and in a hurry, so this caused a real inconvenience. I approached a staff member in the back, but she was on her phone and appeared very unprofessional. Today, when I came again to order coffee and bread, I noticed that there were no hotdog buns or cheese dogs on display, and once again, I saw a staff member on her phone instead of assisting customers. It seems this location may have staffing issues. I also noticed many customers waiting for their orders while only one server was working outside. Brioche 5/5 - this is my go to! So soft even after a couple days. It's sweet but not overpowering sweet. Mango and berry take 4/5- I thought these would have more jam but there isn't much. The bread itself just tastes like the brioche which is still good We came on a Saturday night around 5pm and they still had a good selection of bread. Some other ones I go to, they run out of bread towards the end of the day. There was only one cashier so the line moved kinda slowly. It is a smaller location and not much seats. Something's definitely wrong here!! What happened to proper business attitude and sales skills? Am I totally off, or have they really just never gone to business school or sales training or learned basic politeness, or has Covid created disseminated sociopathy? So I went to pick up some items (6/26, 1:30pm), each one of them nicely wrapped in a clear bags such that there is no contamination by other people. So far so good! But then I went to the cashier. The lady before me with several items elected to go to the restroom before completing her transaction. Can happen - no judgment. But the sales gentleman wasn't so gentle and just elected to ignore me. Not at word, no "I'm sorry I need to take care of this first", or "I can take care of you at the next register", or something along those lines. But simply just ignoring me. I would not appreciate or accept this in my line of work either. PREVIOUS REVIEW Amazing selection of pastries and other sweets/desserts that almost (!) reach the subtleness of European elegance and quality. I haven't had 85 oC in a while, and I was itching to try it again after a few years. I ordered an iced coffee and an assortment of breads. Being on the corner of a large strip in Glendale, there weren't too many customers walking in at noon. Parking was difficult; there is parking nearby. Finding parking directly outside may also be a chore. The interior was nice because there were tables to sit down at as well as a standing table directly in front of the coffee machines. The overall atmosphere is mellow, and you can order drinks on the self-service kiosk to avoid human interaction - for the fellow introverts. :) The iced coffee was amazing; in fact, it's one of the best simple coffees that I've ever drunk, and I'm glad that they also sell jugs of them separately for ~ $8. For lunch, I tried the almond half moon cake - may have called this wrong - and it was like a sponge cake. I wasn't a big fan of the texture, and other than that, it tasted quite plain and underflavored. One of my childhood favorites was the Brioche, and the one here was a on the drier side and drier side, definitely not fluffy and chewy. Maybe this will change upon microwaving. I'm a little nervous to comment on the others, but overall I think the bread here is just average. Will definitely return for the coffee, though! read more

I'm surprised that this place only has 3 1/2 stars! Every time I go here the service is always great and the baked goods are delicious! The place can be a little bit confusing if you don't know what you're doing or how to choose but what you do is always grab a tray and a tong to use and grab the breads and sweets. If you choose not to pick any of the big goods, you can always go to the line to choose cakes or drinks. The ambience of this place is pretty casual. It's a quick service bakery. They have these mochi egg tarts that are so freaking good! I'm not sure if they are only a limited time item or if they're permanently in the menu. They also have regular eggs tarts if you don't see the mochi egg tarts. They're just as good! The flaky crust and the mochi egg filling is a perfect combo. There's a big selection baked goods from sweet to savory. Sometimes they do run out of certain goods, but that's because you have to, get there when they first open up, that's when all the good stuff come out! Some of my favorites are the cheese bread, the garlic bread, berrytale, milk tea bun, sugar cream cheese brioche, and plain brioche! They also carry cakes for special occasions, and you can take it home to celebrate with. Whenever I wanna bring treats to the office I always bring goodies from 85 degree because they're individually wrapped and it's easy for the employees to pick and choose what they want. It's always a hit for the staff. They also have a variety of coffees and lattes. My fave is their sea salt oolong iced tea! Came here while in a walk downtown Glendale on Brand Ave. the store looked pleasant and clean. However all tables were put together for a group of men who were meeting and no other guests were able to sit anywhere else but the high stools alongside the window. I love all 85. I've only had one bad experience at an 85. And they fixed it. This location is much like the other ones. Great service, fresh pastries, wide variety and clean restaurants. Parking is bad. Right in the corner of a busy area. I came in for some oolong milk tea. And I loved it. As usual. I really love their prices. Everything is priced fairly and I've had plenty of their pastries and desserts. All good! I spend enough money at 85 to earn points in freebies. So that helps. Not much to say. One of many chain locations, 85 Degree Bakery Cafe here in Glendale competes with a bigger local favorite just a few hundred feet away. This is a good alternative if the lines of said competition are too long. The style is light, airy, and not overly sweet for their pastry items. Cakes and other dessert items are also lighter in structure and you won't find many heavy creams here. Drink items are your Asian teas and modern boba milk tea concoctions. There is coffee, but it really isn't good coffee. Additional flavors and additions are a bit chemically. But I do love some of their buns and individually portioned desserts. The Red Bean Buns, Ham and Cheese, Milk Buns, and bread are excellent. There are two types of Asian Egg Tarts one drawing some Portuguese styles. The selections can be overwhelming at first, but soon you'll find a favorite or two if you explore. The pricing isn't gourmet and its affordability is what keeps folks coming. I ordered my drink half sweet and it was just right for my pallet. Service was friendly and informative, perhaps because it wasn't too busy yet. There were enough tables to sit without being too crowded, but there were crumbs all over the floor and tables, but easy to wipe off. Stopped by for some treats before visiting my grandma. This bakery sells incredible Asian flavored desserts! My sister and I shared the milk tea bun which is literally milk tea cream and boba inside of a roll. It was so good! And the boba was perfectly soft and chewy. Located on the corner of Brand and Wilson there is both street parking and structure parking though both are usually pretty busy. The store itself is a decent size with a some seating spots inside. Location is good because you can walk around downtown Glendale and explore also. I've never had issues with service here, everyone has been helpful the times that I have come. I enjoy the variety of pastries they have here and have always enjoyed their sea salt caramel coffee. Usually dont complain, But the customer service is bad at this location. My mom ordered a sea salt coffee this morning, and it was not busy at all, i understand that there is only 1 staff working at the front, My mom's order was only 1 sea salt coffee and 1 bread. The one after her has multiple orders with cake. She waited 10 mins just to get her coffee while the customers after her were all getting their orders. I dnt know if the order was forgotten, but my mom didnt say anything waited since the staff was alone and my mom tried to be understanding, when she finally got her coffee after the other customers were done, she brought up her concern with the staff and without even listening for what she has to say, she immediately said "u want to speak to the manager?" and walked to the next customer.
